Heard a lot about Junbi before so I wanted to come try them out. Very cute location. Nice decor, pretty streamlined flow. Walk in, order in the tablet and wait for your call. They have sitting available in the outside, nothing inside, so although most people buy boba to go, if you want to sit down and enjoy the smell of San Francisco downtown piss, they do have some availability. They work fast and they have other things than boba like juices. Although I wasn't particularly blown away by their boba, maybe you'll find a flavor that matches your tastes.
Came for the snoopy collab which is featuring a hazelnut series. The three drinks we got (matcha, hojicha, chocolate) were all very sweet. I would try to adjust the sweetness next time. The matcha was my favorite since it was the most balanced in flavor. The drink cups are very cute (snoopy branded) and they have some snoopy decor inside which was also fun. They sold out of merch though :( Service was okay, not the most friendly.
We came here for the Peanuts x Junbi Collection and thought to get some drinks as well! We ordered the Chocolate Hazelnut Matcha Latte, Chocolate Hazelnut Hojicha Latte, Strawberry Matcha Latte, and Strawberry Hojicha Latte. They were right about the Snoopy drinks being Hazelnut because all I could taste was the Hazelnut. I could barely taste the Hojicha. The Matcha was a little better but I prefer the non Snoopy collab drinks. The service was great. All the workers were super friendly!

I ordered the Blueberry Lavender Cold Foam Matcha Latte ($7.00 + tax) w/House-made Almond Jelly ($1.00): Less Ice, Less Sweet, Whole Milk. This is the only place I've seen this combination. +Blueberry Lavender Cold Foam tasted like ripe blueberries w/a hint of lavender. +House-made Almond Jelly was a unique & delicious topping that worked well with the flavor profile of the drink +Freeze dried cranberries added a tart crunch. +Green & lavender hues made for an aesthetically pleasing drink. +Cup & straw were durable -After the cold foam was gone, it just tasted like a regular matcha latte. -No option for no ice or 0% sweet: The last time I was here, both of those options were available. -Cups are smaller now. Side notes: 1.) Rewards: Sign up w/email or phone # to earn points 2.) Compared to my previous visit, they added some seating indoors in addition to the tables outdoors. *Verdict: Creative but pricey matcha drinks. With so many matcha places in the area, they're definitely one of the most expensive ones, especially since their cups are smaller now.

Decided to give 'em a try a couple of times and the first drink I tried was a Cold Matcha Latte ($7.75). It was good, but lacking that Matcha flavor that I'm used to. It was light in flavor and was forgettable. Next time I tried the Cold Hojicha Latte ($7.75). This one had the Matcha flavor that I prefer - bold, earthy and roasted notes. Not too sweet as well. All in all, a nice addition to the neighborhood that provides more options. 3.5 stars.

It's planted on Market street between 3rd street and New Montgomery and it's called Junbi which means preparation in Japanese. On a downtown stroll on Market street seeing some interesting things as I entered Junbi Matcha & Tea yellow colored walls. I was tempted to order the Cold Mango Match cold brew but wanted to taste the Cold Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte. I am glad I ordered it because it was crisp, and smooth and every drop was tasty and not too sweet. There are so many different crisp matcha combinations like the Hot Dirty Matcha Latte with expresso. They also offer Matcha making team building classes also known as Matcha 101 .There is also merchandise for sale like tote bags .They also sell blind boxes for a pleasant surprise. Market street now has a good dedicated place with indoor and outdoor seating to get matcha in Downtown San Francisco and it's worth every drop. Centrally located, Junbi offers boba, matcha, specialty drinks and teas, and onigiri! I opted for the matcha and onigiri while running errands. Ordering was simple on the screen and there were so many options! Drink came out fast and tasted so good. The onigiri was separate from the seaweed so it doesn't get soggy. Will be back!
TLDR; I don't usually like matcha, but Junbi's matcha is so good, it has made me a fan (of their matcha). I will be visiting their storefront downtown for afternoon pick-me-ups going forward. Junbi Matcha was hired to come into our office today and serve us two matcha options over our lunch break, regular green matcha and strawberry matcha (with strawberry puree). First, I tried the strawberry matcha, and it tasted amazing. It took me a while to determine if the amazing flavor was coming from the strawberry puree or the matcha, and I assumed (incorrectly) it was solely from the strawberry puree. Remember, I don't normally like matcha.... But then, I went back for seconds and asked for the regular matcha, and it blew me away. Super flavorful, but not super sweet. They had non-dairy options for both that I tried, and the sweeeeet kick of caffeine is exactly what I need to get me through the rest of my afternoon. I will definitely be walking to their location downtown to power me through the afternoons!

This place was pretty good. The warm salt bread was delicious even with the butter. The matcha cookie was a little sweeter than I prefer but it still tasted delicious. The matcha latte I ordered passion fruit with their homemade almond jelly. The passionfruit was a bit too tart but the almond jelly totally hit the mark it was yummy. I would come again to try more drinks
Junbi is designated work matcha run place. Perfect for when we need a quick pick me up in the afternoon. I usually get the strawberry Matcha latte, but this time I tried the guava version and it's the perfect amount of sweetness to balance the matcha. It is very refreshing and perfect for one of the few hot summer days in SF. read more

Was craving some yummy matcha after lunch and figured we might as well splurge on something nice while in the area. Knowing that Junbi has many fruity matcha options, we headed this way. The menu offers lattes (with milk) and normal matcha drinks (with water, and for some reason for an extra $0.75 you can add a splash of milk cafe au lait style?), and tons of fruity combinations such as classic strawberry matcha, vanilla matcha, or even guava matcha. I was intruiged by the hojicha lattes too. Ultimately we got a guava matcha with pearls. The pearls were sweet and chewy, and even though there was only one employee working and a few orders ahead of us I was pleasantly surprised that it was a short wait. We got to look around the bright little store, including a community events board, in the meanwhile. Matcha was pretty, grassy, and good but not exceptional, and the price was on the higher side. I enjoyed Junbi but wouldn't come out of my way to come again. read more

Wow. This place is legit. The boba is soft and chewy. The flavors were exactly what I ordered. The place is small so it's basically just a Togo spot. You order at the kiosk and pick up your drink less than 5 min later. I'd definitely come back and try other flavors here. read more

Came here for the Junbi x Peanuts collab launch. My friend and I both got the chocolate hazelnut matcha latte, and we agreed that the chocolate overpowered the drink making it hard to taste the matcha and hazelnut. I did really appreciate that they made my drink in my own cup (let's reduce my plastic waste), although the employees were a bit confused by my ask in the beginning. Such a nice little hidden gem right in the middle of Union Square. You'd almost miss it if you weren't paying attention, but I'm really glad we stopped by. The day was beautiful and sunny, and it was perfect to grab a drink and sit outside for a bit with my friend. I ordered the mango matcha with almond jelly, and it was actually really good--refreshing without being too sweet. I loved that you can customize everything: sweetness level, how much ice, and even add extra toppings. They also give you sustainable straws, which is a small touch but definitely appreciated. My order came out to around $9, plus a few extra bucks for the tip, which felt reasonable for the location and quality. The space was clean, the setup was simple, and the whole experience felt easy and pleasant. I'd definitely consider coming back here, especially when I'm in the area and want a chill break from the Union Square buzz. read more

Stopped by here with some friends. They have some interesting matcha drinks and collabs with BT21 at the moment. I initially wanted to try the galaxy drink but they were sold out since we went less than an hour from closing. instead I got: (7.5/10) Strawberry Hojicha - pretty standard, well mixed (little hojicha powder settling at the bottom), I got 0 sugar and it was the perfect sweetness for me because the strawberry is already sweetened There are 2 kiosk for self-ordering. I got the galaxy matcha latte with some lychee jelly and aloe. This drink is actually a meal - I was so full with just half the drink!! They add taro root in the drink so it's not just a flavor but you can actually taste it - which I really loved! My colleague got a black sesame based drink and she said that was really good too. Dropped in to try the matcha when passing on route to the shops on market street. Really cute and colorful interior- not really much seating so its more of a grab and go kind of place. Some decorations and lighting on the wall if you want to take a picture with your drink for the 'grid'. Lots of matcha options here- i got the strawberry iced matcha, good size of cup. Maybe a little too sweet for me- the strawberry was a little overpowering and I couldn't really taste the matcha unfortunately, but will be back again to try another one of their drinks as it did look like they had a good menu! read more

I've seen people hype up Junbi Matcha on social media, so I was excited to try when we were nearby this location looking for something to drink. The shop is pretty small so definitely a grab and go spot. There is a one person counter table inside and a few tables outside to hang out at. It was easy to order at the kiosk and I liked having the option of seeing all the pictures of the different drinks prior to choosing. I opted for the Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte, which had a nice hint of sweetness. I do love my matcha drinks on the strong end, so the matcha could have been more intense but was still better than a chained coffee shop. My fiance was craving something fruity and got their guava black tea with a cream foam top, which is really enjoyed. Prices are typical of a boba shop. Overall, a solid pick for a refreshing drink and I'd be back to try their other drinks. read more

It was my first time trying Junbi after hearing all about the high quality matcha. Unfortunately, many items in the menu were unavailable and the drink I ordered didn't taste like I expected. I ordered the Yuzu Dragonfruit Matcha Cold brew, but the entire drink tasted more like a lemonade. Additionally, there was minimal to no matcha or dragonfruit flavoring. I love their cold strawberry matcha drink so much that I have been back a few times to get that after first trying them out on a YEE a few months ago. Also like their cold guava matcha! Their matcha drinks are so balanced and refreshing with the fruits. The place is clean, service fast and friendly. I've heard about Junbi since I've been a loooongtime fan of JK, but never had a chance to try since their locations were far away. We came into the city for our holiday photoshoot, and I think my jaw dropped because I saw that Junbi is here! No idea how long it's been here (I rarely go into the city now... so sad), but glad it's here! The shop itself is vibrant, cute and clean, which of course is a nice mini getaway from the wonderful-ness of Market St. I ordered the strawberry matcha since it's the most popular, and my husband and kiddos also got their drinks. I asked for less sugar: I always ask for less sugar, but I must say, the matcha was still more bitter than what I'm used to. I mixed the drink pretty well (well, as good as I could while wrangling two toddlers), but noticed that there wasn't as much strawberry compared to the matcha. The strawberry was good aka the first few sips were delicious, but then the drink was just pretty bitter the rest of the day (like 70% of the drink). Personally I prefer Boba Guys because the flavors are more flavorful all around, and the ratio is better balanced. But my husband and kids are really enjoyed their drinks. Service was great! Everyone was very friendly. Four stars from me since I'm apparently the only grouch in my family. Price is kind of steep, but it seems like the normal price for drinks these days. read more

One of my favorite brown sugar bobas!! It will be very sweet (which i like) and the milk is really quality. I felt the sweetness was infused in the whole drink even without me stirring. As opposed to other brown sugar milks. Where its separated like regular milk and then brown sugar syrup on the bottom My friend got the guava one and that was also good and i dont even like guava. Cute and great new addition to Market St. Clean shop with menus displayed clearly for ordering. - madagascar vanilla matcha latte, iced - perfect for these current hot days. Really premium matcha in the drinks that tastes great and is balanced well. Madagascar vanilla added a nice hint of sweetness, yet wasn't overpowering. This is one of the few spots in the Financial District for a decent boba! I came in with lower expectations, as I didn't enjoy the Junbi I tried at their SoCal location. I went half an hour before closing and they ran out of guava cold brew so I tried the guava matcha latte. My friend recommended me that drink. I shaked the drink but forgot to stir so the first sip was a strong guava flavor. bottom. I would say the guava is more prominent than the matcha presence but the drink was smooth and thick which I liked with no powder clumps. Really loved the cute green interior with decorative info regarding the matcha. Would definitely try another drink again. read more

I honestly missed my bus stop and stumbled upon junbi and it was the best mistake ever. Clean bright location. Delicious highly quality matcha. Kind cool people and a perfect takeout bag I'll definitely be using. Really nice touches all around!! read more

Cute to go spot. Minimal seating. Two ordering kiosks. The matcha is not too strong, but tastes perfect. Love the music and decor. Both the Yuzu Dragon Fruit Refresher and Cold Guava Matcha Latte tasted delicious! I couldn't choose one over the other. This was our first time here and won't be our last. read more
