Came here on 12/31/21 in the afternoon. The cashier with the fake eyelashes was super rude and actually yelled at me for inserting my credit card into the machine a few seconds early! She also didn't know that the salted cheese tea could be made hot. My drinks came out quickly but they were nothing special. A really tiny Happy Lemon but service is good. The girl behind the counter was sweet even though Mo and me were slow to order. I docked 2 stars because of quality my green tea was so bland and really watered down. Even the salted cheese wasn't the same it just tasted weird instead of the usual salty sweet creamy topping. Mo's blended lemon black tea was good though so maybe I just got the wrong item even though SC is one of Happy Lemon's specialties.. Would probably return to give it another shot. read more

Located in the same plaza as St. John's Bar & Grill, Myzen Ramen and Chaat's & Curry. Parking can be tight, especially during peak hours, since it does share it's lot with other restraints and small businesses. The store itself looked a little more dated than its sistering locations. Just not as clean and brand spanking new looking. I ordered.. BANANA MATCHA $4.95 -requested extra sweet and it wasn't sweet at all. Just tasted like frozen bananas that have been puréed. It was just icy. It didn't start tasting a little sweet until the drink melted. There was only a little hint of the matcha flavor. BOBA MILK TEA WITH PUFF CREAM (M)$3.95/(L)$4.50-regular sweet and came with boba. The drink was perfectly sweetened and the puff cream tasted kinda nutty..? It really just tasted like egg pudding but in liquid form. It was pretty good nonetheless and the boba was soft and chewy! Sugar and ice are adjustable, toppings range from $0.50-$1.00. Happy Lemon has grown to be one of my favorite boba spots on my list and I am making a review at this specific location because the workers went above and beyond with their service. Yes, they're probably just doing their job to ensure their customers leave with a smile on their face. Server was Tran, T. I'm not sure if thats the girl who was actually making our drinks or the girl who took our order but anywho.. I ordered the Lemon Yakult w/ Aloe.. The girl who was making my drink stopped in the middle of making my drink and notified me about the complication i'll have if I mixed my yakult drink and add cream puff as a topping. I really appreciated her doing that because the girl taking our order did not say anything (but i don't blame her since she probably didn't know). My friends and I were impressed and I made sure to get her name although it might be wrong. I changed my topping to Lychee jelly instead of the cream puff. My cousin took me to Happy Lemon while I was visiting family in the Bay. It's a small boba shop located in a plaza with other Asian stores and attached to a 24 fitness. Seating is pretty scarce and decor isn't much, but I easily fell in love with this place with my order. I got the milk tea with oreo and tiramisu salted cheese. Honestly, my friends can attest to this, but I almost never finish drinks. Whether it's coffee from Starbucks or anything really, I typically don't end up finishing it. However, that wasn't the case here! I finished my drink within probably 5 minutes of having it. Maybe it's because it felt less like a drink and more like a dessert. The milk tea was definitely creamy and adding the salted cheese just made it even creamier! It also gave it a salty sweet balance that threw me back to my childhood in the Philippines. The oreo also added a great chocolatey flavor while giving a nice crunch. If you want a drink that's refreshing and light, then get a fruity tea without the salted cheese. Good tea, clean space (and bathroom!), good selection of teas, not-so-great parking experience (but not to their fault). I think this is one of the better Happy Lemon locations here as they're pretty no frills and small. It can get busy here with all the little shops here right off Lawrence Expressway but they try to get you in and out pretty quickly. Order your drink up front with the choice of regular black/green/oolong teas, plus or minus milk. There are also fruity teas available and their famous salted cheese of two varieties: the classic and the tiramisu. I've only ever had their classic and it's quite a slightly-salty-cream-cheesy experience. Sounds worse than it actually is. Though I'm also a bubble tea purist. My go-tos are the classic (black) milk tea with either boba or grass/herbal jelly. Sometimes I'll get the oolong or green if I'm feeling up to it. Zero sugar. 25% ice. Not too much variation from that. From my handful of experiences here, they have yet to disappoint me and I've typically left pretty happy! Enough to have joined their rewards club and anxiously awaiting my free boba. For now I'll pay and enjoy the tea. The lines can get long here so choose when you arrive wisely. Every boba shop/asian cafe can make egg waffle but not everyone can make a good egg waffle. This matcha egg waffle is extremely bad. I was craving for egg waffle and remembered the really good one I had at another Happy Lemon. The outside is supposedly to be crunchy while the inside is soft and warm. Went to get a green tea and an Oreo waffle. We were the only ones who ordered. Group of three comes 5 minutes later and all 3 get their drink before me. I asked why that was and they said because it's "a complicated drink". It was a green tea with lemonade. At this point it has been 5 minutes since I ordered, so I didn't feel the need to ask about the waffle yet. Another 10mins pass. At this point, I'm confused. I ask about the waffle and they say it'll be ready in "2 1/2 minutes" okay, fair enough. Maybe they're backed up. Except there was nobody there. Two other people had ordered after the previously mentioned group, but that's it. So I wait another 7 minutes. So this is, what, 22 minutes waiting for a drink and a waffle. And it's not busy. So I check and see a bag that is behind the counter...and it has a waffle. I look at the worker while standing outside, he looks at me, then calls out my order. Just a really odd interaction. I've worked in food service during the pandemic and I get that times can be tough. It takes a lot to drive me to complain about an experience, but this was definitely noteworthy. I love Happy Lemon SO MUCH. I've probably been here twice a month for the past 6 months... My go-to order is the mango matcha with aloe vera. It's pretty sweet so I do 50% syrup. Other recommended drinks are the Oreo tiramisu salted cheese and grapefruit yakult. I swear they make the salted cheese perfect every single time. I've been tempted to steal and run off with the cheese pump every time. That pump better be glued down, it's not safe! Coincidentally, the ramen place we decided to go to just opened a Happy Lemon next door! We were both so stuffed after our meal, but we still somehow ended up in line anyways... At this spot, there's no way to really sit at a table if you have 4 or more people, there's just not enough room. Shamelessly cleared my schedule to haul ass over here for the BOGO opening special. Was not disappointed! Rating Breakdown -- 2/2 Stars for Taste -- Happy Lemon is one of my favorite pearl tea places because 1.) their tea is very strong and 2.) their lemon slushy is TART (like slap yo momma tart). Though there are some locations that have disappointed me in the past, this place delivers! You simply cannot go to Happy Lemon without trying the Salted Cheese black tea. I've had the SC milk tea, green tea, and oolong tea, but hands down, black tea is still the best. The salted cheese takes a little getting used to, but once you figure out how to delicately sip the tea through the cheese by blocking the cheese with your teeth -- BOOM, you're an addict. 1/1 Stars for Value -- The salted cheese series only comes in the smaller size -- $3.75 for cold, $4.50 for hot. I don't understand why the hot option is so much pricier, but I've also never tried it. Maybe it's even more magical (is that possible??) The lemon slushy was $4.00 for a large. A little pricier than I'm used to (compared to $3.75 for a large with toppings at iTea) but the salted cheese and slushy are special enough that I'm willing to pay a little extra. 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- Since this was the grand opening, I was mentally/emotionally/spiritually prepared for a train wreck, but I was pleasantly surprised. Grand opening has the BOGO special. It's exciting to see so many happy lemons opening up in the area. This location is just a minute drive from me, which is dangerous. Those that are familiar with St John's burger, it right across from it. The (A1) green tea with salted cheese is always a safe drink. I like it more than the black tea that they recommend. It's my preference I tend to like my teas on the lighter side. I haven't had the chance to try other drinks at this location just yet but at other happy lemons when I'm not in a salted cheese kind of mood I can always fall back on the Mango Matcha. This is by far my favorite drive of all time. It's not a tea but this green mango slush is addictive. Even in cold weather I'd drink this liquid crack all day! Their milk teas are fairly good but if you want something creamy, the (D5) bubble milk tea with puff cream is great especially if you add salted cheese to it.
