Kung Fu Tea is located in the Saratoga Square close to BiBi Bakery & Cafe, Lion Market, etc. The parking is ok but not during peak hours. The ambience is simplistic with a few tables and some window seating available. They have house music playing and two kiosks to order from. Only one unisex restroom. 2G2G order came with a... Wintermelon Tea w/Boba - the boba was nice, soft, yet chewy. Though, a bit sweet for me. Green Tea - the tea was flavorful, and possibly 25-40% sweet? The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, 3.5 stars. Support your local business.

Pleasantly surprised by the drinks here. Randomly came in , stumbled here, and Coconut Milk Tea is tasty. Creamy texture with balanced tea flavor. Indoor seating is available and service is great. For sweetness and ice level it can be adjusted. For Milk Teas, 50% is good for me. Offers medium and large size. Five stars.

I've heard about Kung Fu Tea from a lot of people so I wanted to swing by today. I ordered a KF milk tea which is just a classic milk tea (50% sweetness, less ice and honey boba). It was just your average milk tea so pretty hard to mess up; however it took forever for them to make. It wasn't busy at all, but somehow took almost 15 minutes to get our drinks. The workers were pretty nice. I'm glad I tried this spot, but not sure I'd come back.

Drink is blend. Below average. Surprised that they are still around in this highly competitive area. Service was nice. Staff was friendly and energetic. Ambiance: have some small tables for you while waiting for drinks.

This place gets the job done. It was really hot out and my mom wanted to get something to drink. The wintermelon with strawberry milk cap was so tasty. It was sweet but the strawberry flavor was really light. My family enjoyed the rest of the drinks. I think this place is ok i hope everyone else gives it a chance and lets me know if im tripping or not.

Overall a decent boba shop and has many many options ranging from regular milk teas to smoothies to basic teas. They also have an app where you can order ahead of time and they often have deals on there as well (free topping or bogo). I've only gotten their milk teas, but I find that their milk teas are a bit too milky for my taste. If you prefer milkier milk teas, this place would be good for you. For me, I prefer a stronger tea flavor.

Classic kung fu green tea with milk cap 70% sugar. Most perfect boba I've ever had

The employees are always nice and all three of our drinks came out wonderfully! Mine was the most perfect green milk tea I've ever gotten with milk cap and 70% sugar. Wow it's gonna be hard for me not to come back multiple times a week!

nationwide chain of kung fu tea joints...small location with some claw machines up front...placing an order for the taro slush $6.35...adding boba for $0.75 extra...comes out to $7.77 total after tax....not a cheap...most drink prices start around $5 to $6 for the various milk teas, punch, slush, yogurt and other drinks...empty on a weekend afternoon...a wait for drink to be made...drink is on the sweeter side...has the standard powder mix taste...

Went specifically for the Princess Peach collab, was a little disappointed they ran out of the special merch. Service was a little slower than I thought it would be but not too bad. The drink was good but could've been better.

awesome! super fun interior and great service! The blind boxes are such a fun addition to the atmosphere, also affordable.

I love pairing boba with the poke paradise next door . Kung fu Tea is very efficient and have kind persons whom work here . The boba is always so fresh ! I absolutely love their milk strike series as I am lactose intolerant (^_-) I am very grateful for the inclusion of non dairy drinkers. Ambiance is quiet and the majority of the shop is taken up by the register/ bar area . The seating situation is some counter height chairs and an outdoor table with chairs .

Cute boba spot in the Lion Plaza!! We got our usual order of passion fruit green tea and mango passion fruit and both were great. We upgraded to their deluxe honey boba and was soooo soft and delicious - highly recommend! That being said, it did seem slightly pricy but I would definitely add this into our regular boba rotation.

Came here since it was close to my work. Ordered a honey milk green tea and a passion tea green tea fruit drink. When I got my order I noticed it had no milk and I told them and who I presume was the owner; a man, just said oh well and starred at me and his worker a young lady looked like she wanted to do it over when he was the one that made the drink but he seemed like he could care less. And poor young lady since he got mad when she was checking out a drink and it was spilling and be yelled for her to watch out. Probably won't come here again since the owner or whoever the man working seems rude and doesn't care about customer service. They also take a while to make drinks since ppl were even waiting outside. Parking is also tight outside of here. Much better places to get boba around this area.

Ask the Community - Kung Fu Tea

Are the Kirby cups/tea still being served at this location?

Yes, Kirby drink is still available at KFT San Jose.

Does the T-mobile Tuesdays discount work here?

Yes! I just used it today.

Is the Fruits Basket promotion going on right now?

Yes. Free one-month Funimation Premium Plus Membership when purchase a drink and will be giving out Fruit Basket sticker starting April 1st. The Fruits Basket drinks are now available.

    Are they hiring still?

    Yes they are still hiring.

The photos on yelp have "non dairy" milk option but in stores their menu does NOT say that under Milk Tea category.... why is that?

Their regular milk teas are all made with nondairy creamer; if you don't ask they'll automatically make it non-dairy!

    Is it open already?

Kung Fu Tea SJ will be soft opening on Tomorrow ( 10/17/2018) .

I've seen people study or do work in there but it's not the most quiet place. Staff is always friendly to us when we're ordering drinks. We tried the Guava Matcha with Guava Cream, and this was easily a 10/10 for me. The li hing powder on top adds such a unique, slightly tangy flavor that makes the drink really stand out. This is the drink we always order whenever we visit this place. We also tried the Double Matcha Melon Matcha, which was good, but I still preferred the guava matcha. My husband likes the Melon Matcha better though. The Vietnamese Coffee was very strong for me and on the less-sweet side. The Pandan Latte wasn't really for us either. It wasn't very sweet, and we didn't get much pandan flavor. We've definitely had better pandan lattes elsewhere. The drinks aren't cheap, but I think they're worth trying, especially the guava matcha and double melon matcha. Lines can get pretty long on weekends, and parking is free but limited. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for the guava matcha!

I decided to get the Lavendula Latte, which the barista delivered to my table. I had forgotten to adjust the sweetness (though thinking now I can't remember if there was an option for that) but the drink had a nice balance of sweetness. Only complaint I have is that the menus lacks photos (not sure if it's lag or if there genuinely are no photos), but I'd say that the drink looks okay. Each bite was delicious, everything tasted freshly baked and made, and I especially loved that the pastries weren't overly sweet. Although we enjoyed eating the tower from top to bottom, next time we would probably go from bottom to top since we like to save our sweets for last! Of course, we couldn't leave without getting more pastries to bring home. They have plenty of classic pastries, like croissants, along with more unique specialties, like their croissant cube. A simple sandwich order at 9:20 is not ready until 9:45. Lesson learned, come at opening time and order all at once. Cortado & latte, 5/5. Hot, smooth, strong. Orchid acai bowl ($14, sub in mango for mulberry, add coconut dust): 5/5. so good. Palmetto superfoods is my go-to in the SJ area for acai bowls, this was better despite not as many topping options. Their bases are smoother and creamier, no ice crystals here. Also liked that the fruit was chopped smaller. BAE sandwich ($12): 4/5. good, but definitely not worth a 25 min wait. Textures, freshness were great, but it was missing salt/pepper & spices. The sauce helped, but still underwhelming given how good it looks. Recommend having salt & pepper packets & a bottle of hot sauce available to customers. Cinnamon roll ($5.75): as a cinnamon roll, 3/5. As a morning bun type thing, 4.5/5. This is a case of mistaken identity. It's got a slight crunch, light sweetness, fluffy (not dense). When I order a cinnamon roll, I'm more expecting decadent dessert-for-breakfast laden with sugar & butter, yknow? Loved their dining area, loved how beautifully presented all items were, loved how everything was served at optimal temperature (hot espresso, thoroughly warmed pastry, etc), loved the variety of menu items (I can get an acai bowl and bf can get a sandwich or pastry). We're talking ube coffee, avocado coffee, banana condensed milk coffee, plus a whole lineup of matcha drinks. Definitely more creative than your typical neighborhood coffee shop! I went with the ube coffee with almond milk. The ube base was a little too sweet for my taste, but once everything was mixed together, the overall sweetness actually balanced out pretty nicely. The espresso also packs a punch -- you get 2 shots with your coffee order, so no complaints there. ‍ The ambience is definitely a highlight. The space is super cute and spacious, and they even have this mini staircase seating area that would be perfect for hanging out with friends. It also has plenty of room for a work-from-café situation The only downside was the service, which felt a bit slow for my liking. That said, they did give customers a heads-up that half of their espresso machine was under maintenance, so I'll give them some grace on that one! Overall: 3.5/5 Giving them an extra +0.5 just for the ambience because the space is genuinely adorable. I'd definitely come back to try their pastries and açaí bowl next time!
