Ordered a variety of teas here for Mother's Day since it was on the way to cream pan and decided to give it a shot. I typically order the jasmine green tea wherever I can because I feel like you can really tell the quality of the brew/tea leaves from that... and I just didn't like the one here. For reference, my tried and true spots are hntea and sunright. I've also tried wushiland, sunmerry, 85degree, uniqutea (closed down) , and the alley. I also really enjoy the oolong tea from pengo. 1/5 - jasmine green tea w/ sea cream. I couldn't taste the jasmine (even before mixing in the sea cream). I just didn't taste anything. I was a bit confused on what I was drinking. 2.5/5 - Thai tea with boba. The flavor was really really light. It wasn't milky or sweet just kind of in the middle? Maybe that's what they're going for here, but when I order Thai tea, I expect it to be super fragrant and dark with the cream on top when you swirl it yourself and it becomes milky and sweet like at the restaurants? Maybe that's a me issue, but I gave my drink away. 2/5 - ice Japanese matcha. My brother in law took two sips and left it on the table. He said that the sugar crystals didn't dissolve all the way so there were sugar chunks? Not sure, but it was still full by the time we went home 6 hours later. 3/5 - Vietnamese coffee. I'm Vietnamese and this coffee was not strong or fragrant to what I'm used to. My husband enjoyed it, but I definitely have tasted better (lees coffee is strong, but this was like 30% of what it should be) his rating is 4/5 (but he's also only had it two or three times prior so that doesn't count) 4/5 - green Thai tea with boba. My other brother in saw said it was Thai tea flavored with a hint of green tea. He said he enjoyed it. This was his rating 4/5 - mung bean with boba My mother in law enjoyed this. 4/5 - taro milk tea with boba - father in law enjoyed this. *Disclaimer: this rating is solely for the matcha latte! I am a loyal 7 leaves customer and regularly order their coffee and milk teas. I ordered the matcha latte with sea cream on top, thinking it would be something like a matcha einspanner. Since I'm spoiled from all the great matcha in SoCal, this was unfortunately very subpar. The drink was grainy, I could see the grains of sugar and matcha powder at the bottom of the drink, which would not mix in no matter how much I stirred. The drink tasted like sweetened milk, no matcha flavor at all. I guess the lesson is to stick to what you know to be good. There were a lot of enticing options, so I just opted for a safe, popular choice. I ordered Mung Bean Milk Tea, which was a total revelation. It tasted a lot like Chè Ba Màu, the vietnamese 3 color dessert. The jasmine tea blended seamlessly with the smooth mung bean and pandan leaves, creating a drink that was very unique. My boyfriend ordered the Assam Milk Tea, which was a little more on the earthy side. The black tea paired with cream and brown sugar brought a comforting richness to it. My friend got the Taro Milk Tea, which he mentioned was overly sweet. A friend tipped us off about the secret menu here, as she had ordered Tea-Rex, a mix of the mung bean milk tea and matcha green tea. Most recently had made a mobile account and ordered it for pickup, simple enough, however even though I had added my name to my account, for some reason it didn't show up on the drink order, always odd when there's a technical glitch, but the barista told me to add it next time and it's just like but I did this time and it just didn't show up - strange to say the least. Not sure if there was a promo that day but I did get a small macaron on the side so that was a nice treat. Typically I find the drinks to be overly sweet, and skip out on the toppings since that's also an extra surcharge. I've tried a variety of the drinks, the Thai tea iced is not bad, but I would skip the green Thai tea iced drink. Otherwise, the assam or oolong milk tea is also a solid option to try. They swapped locations of the register and pick up area, and they also replaced the bar-height tables with small round tables. My partner loves cereal milk so he got the mung bean milk tea, which somehow tastes very much cerealy. I ate first ordered their special, masala chai, but it couldn't be made with soy milk so I changed my mind. The cashier pointed me to the jasmine milk tea because it's made with non-dairy milk as a default. (It's not just this spot, but i'm always confused when a milk can be swapped with a plant milk.) What really upset me was seeing two walk-in customers come in, place their orders, and receive their drinks before mine. When I asked the staff member about my order, she repeatedly told me she was "working on it," but everything is prepared in the open -- and it was very clear that wasn't the case. This was incredibly disappointing. I placed my order in advance specifically to avoid delays, yet I was ignored while others were helped first. I've been coming to this location for the past ten years, but after today, I won't be returning. Thankfully, there's another location with a drive-thru, and I'll be going there from now on. Love their relatively simple menu compared to some of the other boba places. I love their milk teas, mung bean, and Thai iced tea (which i usually make dirty with a complimentary shot of espresso!). Their honey boba is always perfect, chewy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Their iced coffee is also pretty solid, especially with sea salt foam. Drinks are 5 stars, I'm a fan :) Plus, download the app to collect points and redeem for free drinks and food! My only complaint is their macarons. They're apparently outsourced, so quality control can be an issue. Already experienced super dried out, hard, basically inedible macarons, which we've ended up having to toss a handful of times. However, last week when I wanted to redeem a house coffee at this same location I was very disappointed to discover that my House Coffee I ordered was not made correctly. My husband loves the Green Thai Tea with Honey Boba from 7 Leaves. I'm not kidding when I say that we go to this location at least once a week. There have been a few times where we've gone twice in one week. We live down the street and it's literally walking distance. After a few times, I decided to download their app and start collecting leaves, so I can redeem them for free drinks. I love their drinks as well, but I'm pregnant and unfortunately, cannot have their caffeinated coffees and teas for another two and a half months. It is understandable that they are limited on their decaffeinated options, but I was slightly disappointed to find out that there were only two decaf options - Strawberry Hibiscus Tea and Sunset Passion. I've tried their Strawberry Hibiscus Tea. It was refreshing, but if I go to 7 Leaves, it's because of their House Coffee and Thai Tea. I'm looking forward to trying their Green Thai Tea. I've never seen such a shameless boba shop in my life. I ordered a Sea Cream Jasmine Tea and recieved basically a plain jasmine tea. As you can see in the photo, the entire top section is empty and theres a sliver of foam so thin that it looks like nothing. This is the second time I've gotten less than half of the topping. This time its essentially 0. It baffles me they would even serve this. I worked at a boba shop before so I really can't believe I was served this without the employees second guessing handing something so half assed out. Then she found my order but still had to make it. I asked how long it would take since I ordered ahead so it would be ready when I got there. She said 2 minutes, but instead of making my order she proceeds to take another customer's order instead. If you lost someone's order and it's been over 30 minutes why would you then take another customer's order instead of prioritizing the customer's order that you messed up?! I've been coming here for years and have yet to be disappointed in my drinks. I love ordering the Thai Tea, Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Japanese Soy Matcha drinks. Everything is typically more on the sweeter side for me, which is perfectly fine because it takes me two days to drink it and the ice waters it down a little. This cafe is located in a plaza with tons of parking so you wont have to search long. I stopped by this 7 Leaves Cafe today to pick up my cousin to go order. She got 2 jugs of the Thai tea and Jasmin Milk tea. I found parking easily when I came today around the afternoon. When we walked inside we were greeted and ask if we could give them a couple of minutes because they were making drinks. I first put in a order of a large summer mint and a Jasmin Milk tea for my wife. I paid with my American Express credit card because they told me they accept it now. After I paid for my order, I told them I was picking up my cousin order as well. I just give them her name and they give me her order. It didn't take long for them to make the 2 drinks. The inside of this place isn't that big but I think it's more of a pick up or to go order here. They have outdoor seating as well. My wife loved her Jasmin Milk Tea, my cousin husband enjoyed his Summer Mint and everyone else like their teas we got in the jug so it was a big hit. read more
