Two item Combo: Eggplant Tofu and Barbecue Pork.
    Cindy S.

Happy Plus Chinese does Americanized Chinese fast food very well. I personally think the food here are above average compared to similar competitors in the area that I been to. However, If you're craving "Orange Chicken" Panda Express is still supreme for orange chicken; their orange chicken here is just okay Happy Plus Chinese is not bad for Chinese-American steam table fast food with plenty of variety. I love their Tofu Eggplant dish and Jalapeno Chicken Wings. Inexpensive and the owner hooks you up! Credit Card/Cash payment. Convenient parking in front.

First timer. I feel I came in at the wrong time. I came in and there weren't very many options available. I scoped the Yelp reviews just now and found that they offer jalapeño chicken wings? What? That clearly wasn't ready when I walked in. Ambiance is clean, service is fast, and restaurant is located in a small plaza near a liquor store and My Taco. Panda Express still reigns supreme but I was happy to give this local spot a try.

Thank you for our yummy meal! Today we got a 3 item meal, dumplings, and salt pepper tofu. The food here is always fresh and the quality is good. My family loves the food here. We usually get the combos, but just today i found out they have my favorite salt pepper tofu cooked to order sooooo I ate an entire box of tofu for my meal. Soo good! We also saw fried dumplings today and gave it a try. My kiddo loves SGV dumplings (but doesn't eat much in general) loved it and finished most of the box. I'm glad we explored the menu a little more than usual today. Everything was so yummy!

Large trays of eggrolls, fried rice, chow mein, veggies, orange chicken and beef & broccoli

I've never had this place before, but I needed catering and found it online. Boy am I glad I did! I ordered catering trays for a work function. Since we have a day shift and night shift at work I placed two orders. They had them ready on time for both pickup times and were helpful in carrying them to the car for me. The food was delicious!!! It's hard to get the seal of approval from a large group, and everyone kept telling me how much they loved it! The prices were very reasonable for the amount you get too. We will definitely be returning for future events.

So happy to have came across this local mom and pop Chinese food spot! The woman serving our food was so nice and even offered to let me try an item. Our dishes were generously served. The jalapeño chicken had a sweet but tiny bit spicy kick to it. The noodles and rice were great. The orange chicken was good! Parking lot. Inside has tables if yo using to eat there. Will def be back to try other items!

I ordered party trays from here, and the staff were the sweetest! Terrific customer service. They even called back to confirm my orders and to let me know when they were ready for pick up. I got two medium party trays of honey walnut shrimp (around $51/tray) and they were a hit at the parties I went to. The shrimp was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, laid on a bed of crispy wonton noodles and sweet glazed walnuts. I want to try ordering other stuff for next time! There is easy parking in a shared lot with other businesses.

It's 10:52 right now and there is no food ready. This happens every single day.

Food is never ready. They advertise that it opens at "10:30" but the cooks get there and barely start preparing. They will take your money and make you wait 30 minutes. THIS PLACE DOES NOT OPEN UNTIL 11:30AM

No frills and generous portions! If you want good Chinese fast food, this is your go to spot! I arrived around 7 pm to an empty restaurant but a steady line of customers placing orders to go. I ordered the combo C with chow mein, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and spicy pork. The portions are generous!!! However the taste is average. My favorite was the spicy pork so next time, I'll try the spicy entrees like the jalapeño chicken and spicy shrimp.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

That was my first mistake -- they don't even serve mu shu pork. That one's on me for not checking the menu first. I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. I was also pretty surprised (and a lot sad) that they didn't have hot mustard. The tea was really good though! Service was fine. The server was attentive, just clearly busy keeping up with all the takeout orders coming through. Ambience is definitely on the lower side here, so don't come expecting a nicer Chinese restaurant. It leans more Santa Ana burger joint vibes. That said, everything felt clean and they were pumping out a ton of takeout orders while we were there, so clearly they're doing something right. Overall, it just didn't hit for me, and I don't see myself coming back.

The braised pork belly was so incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and paired with the pickled carrots and cucumbers tucked into that steamed bao bun - so juicy. The wood ear mushroom and bean curd stick salad was a nice lighter contrast to the heavier dishes too. We tried the beef noodles as well. The noodles were a bit on the tougher side, which is kind of expected with this style, but the flavors were solid overall. But do NOT sleep on dessert. Then I went back to Firstborn twice within three months. This newly listed 2025 tasting menu spot actually made me feel a little hopeful about LA fine dining again. The shiso with razor clam and beef cheek cochon, and the black cod with green Sichuan pepper mala noodles, are both full-on collisions between deep animal savoriness and sharp, vivid spice. Then dishes like roasted artichoke and morel stuffed with green peas bring the seasonality into clear focus. The menu is not huge, but every dish has a defined structure and a bold sense of movement. On paper, it reads a little mysterious and intimidating; once you eat it, everything suddenly makes perfect sense, and honestly, it gets addictive. The ingredient selection and handling are also seriously thoughtful. Take the aged duck main course. I am very much a "if there is duck on the fine dining menu, I'm ordering it" person, and I've had plenty of beautifully rich, tender duck breasts. But Firstborn's version, beyond being tender and luscious, had that Cantonese sense of "gan xiang" -- the sweet, savory aroma you get from naturally air-dried, aged meats. For a second, I had this flashback to going with my family as a kid to Xing Fu Lou in Wenquan for Lutian cured meats during winter solstice. Absurdly good. Calling it the Duck King of the West Coast does not feel excessive. On my second visit, the truffle and wild mushroom "gnudi" was also excellent. The moment it hit the table, that intense truffle aroma made me think of the deep, earthy punch of French Périgord black truffle. But then I thought, wait, where are they getting Périgord in June? Turns out they were using Australian winter truffle, perfectly in season. That sourcing logic is smart. It is not expensive for the sake of being expensive; it actually understands the flavor window. The fire-grilled lamb saddle on the second visit was just as strong. It preserved the soft, tender texture of the cut without losing that sweet, milky lamb flavor. Grilled over open flame to a rosy medium rare, the flavor, doneness, and ingredient choice all landed. To me, a great restaurant comes down to three things: concept, ingredients, and seasoning. Some fine dining places love making everything complicated, stacking seven or eight ingredients together, serving a dozen-plus courses, and by the end you feel exhausted and sleepy. Firstborn is the opposite. It is unconventional, but from amuse-bouche to dessert, every dish explains its own logic clearly. Final feeling after the meal: addictive, interesting, and absolutely worth coming back for.

My friend's cocktail tastes very so so too. The restaurant is nice and clean. We were there to celebrate a birthday, but we didn't know the restaurant doesn't have any candles. They didn't offer to sing a birthday song or anything for us. I really don't think we will come back again. Not recommended.
