    Vegetarian Egg Rolls (4) 素春卷
    Olivia T.

First off, AI let me down on this one. I came here expecting it to hit the mark for some solid kung pao chicken and mu shu pork after what I thought was a thorough search for the best Chinese food in Chinatown. That was my first mistake -- they don't even serve mu shu pork. That one's on me for not checking the menu first. I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. I was also pretty surprised (and a lot sad) that they didn't have hot mustard. The tea was really good though! Service was fine. The server was attentive, just clearly busy keeping up with all the takeout orders coming through. Ambience is definitely on the lower side here, so don't come expecting a nicer Chinese restaurant. It leans more Santa Ana burger joint vibes. That said, everything felt clean and they were pumping out a ton of takeout orders while we were there, so clearly they're doing something right. Overall, it just didn't hit for me, and I don't see myself coming back.

The food is delicious, even for take-out! My friend and I were craving Chinese food late at night and we saw this on DoorDash. It honestly exceeded our expectations. The to-go portions were hefty. We ordered shrimp fried rice, pan fried dumplings, and orange chicken. Everything was so tasty and still steaming hot when it arrived to us. Do not skip out on the shrimp fried rice. You can taste the freshness of the GIANT shrimp they use. The orange chicken was sweet and tangy, and the chicken was not as breaded. The dumplings came with a delicious side of dipping sauce and were so juicy on the inside. I think this might be one of my favorite Chinese food spots in Chinatown!

This was the absolute perfect Friday night delivery order! Blown away how delicious and freshly prepared this food was! On a whim I ordered one beef and broccoli, one yang fried rice, and one Singapore noodle. The portions are very generous and the ingredients, especially the meat and the shrimp was very well cooked and high-quality. Really appreciate what I received yesterday and will be absolutely coming back in person and ordering for pick up in the future. I love to support local business!

A big hole in the wall at the entrance of Chinatown on Broadway street. Parking can be either free street parking (can be tough to find one nearby) or parking lot or garage nearby for a fee. For me, this is more of American Chinese rather than Chinese Chinese foods. BUT very tasty and flavorful for sure. Portion is nicely bigger than expected, prices wise-okey, not bad. The place spacious, clean and plenty of food dishes hanging on the walls with big TV for news/show/movie. Staff are nice and friendly. Menu is quite big selection to choose from. Easy ordered and quite fast for turnaround. Overall not bad and better than I expected. They open late into the night since got out a show nearby and most restaurants are closed around 8:30-9pm and we came around 9:30pm so not bad and thank you.

We were driving through LA and were craving chicken food. I always look up reviews first and this place had lots of them! We ordered a few dishes to share from; short ribs, beef chow mein, Kung pao chicken, and salt and pepper shrimp (not in photos), and everything was delicious! The service was great, server was very kind. We will definitely come back if we are in the area. 5/5

Support small business, LA Chinatown. Solid, simple, good Chinese food.

We went straight for the affordable daily combos (in this economy...) which is the pork chop, crispy shrimp and garlic chicken wings--all served with fried rice. All were flavorful, with my favorite being the chicken wings followed very closely by the crispy shrimp. It's also shareable and can be eaten as "family style" but also as personal plate meals if you prefer. May I also suggest the garlic noodles (add protein if you wish) because that is also tasty. The service is appropriately friendly (not terribly chatty or over-the-top, which is fine by me) and you can feel that they are watching but it's just because they want to anticipate your needs (that's the vibe I got from it anyway). This is a simple restaurant, not terribly fancy, but it is a sit-down and can be a good spot for a simple celebration. It's a wonderful small business restaurant in LA Chinatown, so come support them.

Really decent option if your in the area. Came here on a Thursday and we were the only customers inside. It was very bright ( overhead lighting) which I'm not a huge fan of. Besides that everything was amazing. Honestly some of the best Lo mein I've ever had. Super fresh, nothing was greasy. Cucumber salad was an actual decent sized portion, not like those fancier places that just give you five slices of cucumber. Service was quick and friendly. Would def come back!

What came out looked and tasted better than what this photo shows.

A very surprising and rare find in Downtown LA. We found this place by chance after watching a late evening play at the Ahmanson Theater. At 10:00 PM on a Sunday night, you know your dining options will be very slim. I was resigned to eating fast food, but fortunately Golden Tree came to the rescue. After entering, I noticed there were a fair amount of diners inside. A good sign. The gentleman came and took our order. We went with the Mongolian Beef dish, the Kung Pao chicken and shrimp, and also the beef noodle dish. Another good sign was that it took about 20 minutes for the food to get to us. Based on what I was seeing how the food was being served to the other diners, the food looked freshly prepared. All three dishes were absolutely amazing. I honestly couldn't tell if the food was really that good or was it because I was just that hungry. However, everyone in our party agreed that the food was amazing. Rest assured that I will be coming back here again soon.

Very busy Christmas night at Golden Tree. Not only were the tables full but a crowd of Door Dashers waiting for their pickups. There were seven of us so we had a wide variety of dishes including three vegetarian. All were excellent. The server seemed to be the only one on the floor but we were meeting friends and had a lot to talk about so a leisurely meal was just fine with us. The green beans were outstanding as was the garlic eggplant. The beef dish was tender and flavorful and we loved the chicken and broccoli. Reasonably priced, this was an excellent first time experience.

This is a scoop and serve restaurant. The equivalent to a Chinese meat & three. I ordered the Combo A. Your choice of meat and either lo mein, fried rice or half and half. The lo mein was the best thing on the plate, the orange chicken was mid and the fried rice wasn't very fried. The customer service was good and I would give them another try, minus the rice.

This is probably the best Chinese spots Ive been to in a while. Everything was hot and fresh, and most importantly NOT GREASY. Everything was a hit, though personally I would skip the crab wontons. Not because they were bad, but they are just something that I dont generally gravitate towards. The only "issue" (the reason why it isn't 5 stars) is because of the orange chicken. The flavor was great, but if you're expecting that lightly breaded and crispy exterior, this doesn't have that. It was more of a flash fry situation. Again, not bad, just not what we were expecting. Everything else, no notes. Nothing was overly salty or bland. It was just perfect. Service was quick enough, no frills as you would expect from a hole in the wall Chinese place. But food was even quicker. Will 100% be back

Friends and I were walking around China Town and decided to stop in. Food was absolutely delicious. The staff was efficient. Would recommend 1000%.

The servers are wonderful, all with a vibe that makes you instantly feel calm and ready to embark on this upscale Mexican culinary journey. There is an approach to service that feels team spirited and with a sense of pride when delivering beautiful presentations of your choice, ours happened to be 100% seafood. Let's shout out Samantha first and then we will get to the food. From the moment we sat down, she made a difference in our experience. She was friendly, had an excellent understanding of what we were hoping for in our meal, and approached us each time with genuine enthusiasm. We took her advice on almost everything we ordered, and she nailed it. We were truly so satisfied and appreciative of her expertise. Good job Loreto for hiring this one! Moving on (this isn't a performance review after all) let's get to why you came here! Shout out to the chefs, as each dish is intentional in flavors and presentation. Everything was filled with unique flavors to elevate the fish dishes, which all were incredible in their own right. My husband and I split a Mezcal Margarita, added a bit of spice and cucumber. Delicious. We needed this while our bottle of Chardonnay Chilled! Sounds about right, right? When the Chardonnay arrived, Blanc de Mer, the label boasted oysters, which must have been a sign, as we weren't leaving without eating oysters. Here's what we indulged in: West Coast Oysters: plump, creamy, and simply delicious. Served with lime and salsa negra. We still love the traditional horseradish with oysters, but we adjusted. Salsa negra could have been more flavorful and spicy, just one gal's opinion. Yellowtail Sashimi: fresh, flavorful, and I wanted more but it was perfection. Santa Barbara Ceviche: rockfish, guacachile, and cucumber. Served with tostadas and saltines. Very good. CDMX Tostada: don't miss this. Blue fin tuna, capers, avacado, scallions and cilatro in a light creamy sauce. AMAZING. We shared, I wish we didn't. Atún Picante: at first I didn't see it on the menu and almost got teary, but there it was and it is not to be missed. Tuna, crispy rice, avacado, and salsa negra. So so good. Get two orders. Mejillones "Tom Kha": mussels in a coconut broth with galangal and serrano chiles, served with grilled foccacia. Of note, one piece of foccacia is not enough to sop up that amazing sauce. So we drank it. My husband is a firm believer in having dessert. This time, I'm not mad about it. We laughed with Samantha because we ended up having 3 Carajillos. 2 drinks, one dessert. The drink is hand shaken espresso and Licor 43, poured over ice. This is a Mexican specialty after dinner drink in any restaurant when you venture south of the border. Forget about the drinks, move on to the best dessert I think I may have ever had. Carajillo dessert: The base is a moist piece of chocolate cake, topped with smooth milk chocolate crèmeux and a crunchy pecan toffee. The top is crowned with a thick scoop of pecan ice cream. It isn't too sweet, that I promise. I'm not 100% that I got the description right, but it was damn good. In a city where you can spend your money anywhere to have great food, spend some, or a lot of it at Loreto. AMAZING. Street or valet parking (15.00) Reservations or walk ins. I strongly suggest garden seating, it is absolutely beautiful at night. If this were a performance evaluation, it would go something like this: An area for improvement is for the the host who has greeted us both times when dining. A smile and a kind greeting goes a long way. I'll leave it at that. First impressions are lasting ones. All in all, exceptional experience.

You could genuinely throw a dart at the menu and land on something phenomenal. Come with people who like to share and order as much of the menu as you can because you're going to want to try everything. That being said, there are three dishes I cannot stop thinking about: the Mar-Esquites, Joaquin Tostada, and Atun Picante. I've never had anything quite like them before. They're so unique and so delicious that you genuinely go home thinking about them. The kind of dishes you start craving again almost immediately. For drinks, I loved the Chiquita Bonita cocktail and would absolutely order it again. The service has been great both times and the ambiance is so lovely. It's perfect for either a girls' night or date night. One tip when making your reservation: book indoors if you want a livelier, more energetic experience, and outdoors if you want something a little more intimate. Both are beautiful, just completely different vibes. Also, the valet setup is incredibly convenient. You can request your car right from your phone, and it's ready for you by the time you walk out. Tip: Order the car about 10 minutes before you plan to get up! Such a small detail, but it makes leaving so seamless. Already looking forward to visit #3!

Parking was a bit rough since we had to find street parking and we luckily only had to circle around the neighborhood once to find parking. We didn't know they had a Dine LA menu, so it made it easy for me to select and try out various items between the two of us. There was seating outdoors and indoors, so we lucked out we got indoor seating by a section off area that had air conditioning slipping through the curtain cutting us off from the actual restaurant itself where only employees were allowed in. They had cold water available and two sauces as well as utensils and sharing plates outside. The wait was a bit since there was a lot of people coming in and out and I think the Dine LA menu made it a bit confusing or hectic for the workers to keep track of who needed what, especially when it came to the churros that came with that menu. My favorites were the fish tacos with the added green sauce we grabbed and the churros that were a light end to the meal. I had to water down my agua fresca cause there was a lot of juice at the bottom so it felt I got a refill for my drink as I diluted the mix. The tostado was good when we added the green sauce to it cause it needed that kick and something to balance the saltiness. My husband the Las Flautas Ahogadas and it was good too, but definitely needed that green sauce as well. Overall, would come back to try other items!
