Highly recommend if your friend group is a mix of meat and vegetarian eaters. Also best if you are not super hungry and just need a light meal. If you were as hungry as I was, you'd rack up quite a bill quickly. It's pretty simple here, water is self serve and you order at the counter and then find a seat. They'll bring the food out to you when it's done. Steamed Snow Crab and Pork Soup Dumplings - Soooo sweet and juicy. Probably my favorite of the meal Pan Friend Beef, Cheese, and Onion Dumplings - Very interesting combo, but still good nonetheless. It was so crispy and the beef was so tender and juicy inside too Custard Buns - Did I get these just for the looks? Yeah. The piggies looked too cute, taste was okay. But who could resist such a cute face?

The crispy chili oil is bomb!

I was having a party and a friend brought a few boxes of dumplings. As soon as he said they were from Mason's, everyone descended on the boxes and devoured the dumplings. The restaurant is walking distance from my house, and I've had their dumplings before. At Mason's, every dumpling is rolled and wrapped by hand. You can taste the quality in every bite. The vegan dumplings were perfectly steamed, and the filling ratio was just right. They were yummy and the crispy chili oil was bomb! *Strip mall parking lot or metered street parking.

There are so many spots nearby after yoga, but I was craving dumplings. I found this spot and stopped by for lunch. I ordered the chicken and cabbage dumplings and the pork bun. It took about 10 minutes as I took it to go and it was piping hot. It was the perfect amount of food without getting overly stuffed or feeling overwhelmed. I was able to still play with a small child and not feel sluggish. The service was super friendly and they brought put the food to me when it was ready. It is super clean and there is plenty of spots to sit. Parking can be tricky depending on the time you go, but there is parking in the lot or metered on the side. I definitely want to try other items too.

A friend recommended that I try their vegan dumplings and so I came prepared - hungry that is. The pan fried vegan dumplings were the best that I've ever had! Even in comparison to the veggie based dumplings elsewhere, these had more complex flavors. Sure you add their suggested 2:1 ratio of soy sauce and vinegar, - and let me not get started on the sweet and sour sauce! - but damn it's tasty. The spot is popular so snag a seat while you can but don't forget to order at the cashier. Water dispenser is available at no cost. Limited on-site parking or metered parking around the corner. Enjoy!

3.8 but rounding up This is one of those places that I had really high hopes for and felt that everything was just okay. I do think that the ingredients they use here are high quality but most of the flavors were very muted, at least for me. I wanted to love this place but it was just alright. The steamed bok choy and the scallion pancakes were my favorites so I would for sure recommend them. Seating is very limited as a heads up. We happened to be there an hour before closing and they started doing their cleaning 30min prior to close which I didn't care about, but the cleaning products had scent that felt like a punch to the face

I'm obsessed with their pan fried pork dumplings and their soup dumplings! I usually order to-go but if you have the chance to sit there and eat, I'd recommend that! All the dumpling variations I've had have been delicious, their broccoli with sesame sauce is also great! To order, you go to the counter and then they give you a # if you're going to dine in. Service has always been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! There's a few tables you can sit at and also some high top seating, it's always very clean! Parking can be a little tricky if the lot is full, but there's parking on the side streets as well.

When Nikki B. mentioned "Mason's Dumpling House" and the response from her guests, I just had to go there! I did not go alone, as I wanted my wife to pick her favorite dumplings and foods that she enjoys. I might add that their selection is huge and servings are really made to go, if you don't dine in. My wife's all time favorite has always been wood-ear mushrooms, so chose this automatically, while she selected the many dumplings and garlic/chive flatbread that really hits home with me. As for ambiance, it is such a small interior with about seven tables and bar stools surrounding the walls, with a very cool mural as you see walking in. I think I'll remember Mason's for Holiday gatherings, and get the same response Nikki B. had from her guests!

I'm hungry. Chill Sunday. Just want to have a nice sit down meal. Search yelp. Find this place. We've all been to din tai fung. It's good. It's busy. Every single location is packed. It's a "nicer" spot. This place shares a strip mall location with a place that reminds me of din tai fung: it's called Alfred Coffee. The logo is recognizable, it's trendy, it's busy at all times, but the coffee is okay. Why not a mom and pop? Why not just some other local place that simply doesn't have buzz around it? Give these places a chance. The dumplings weren't soupy. they give you a paper bowl. Id recommend putting the dumplings in the bowl, make your desired ratio of vinegar/soy sauce, and add chili oil. The vinegar here is FIRE. Not as acidic as din tai's. The chili oil is good. Mild, aromatic, ideal. Also got the angus beef bun, I'd like to try the pork next time as well as more of the dumplings. Got pretty full off an order of dumplings and a bun, if I was with a squad we would've ordered a variety and went to town.

Stewed Pork Belly Bun was outstanding!

My daughter told me about this place and I took a chance on it even though it's 26 miles from my house. Was it worth the drive? Hell yes it was!!! I'm no expert on dumplings or buns etc. but the memory of the food here is gonna live in my mind rent free for the rest of my life! What we ate today (see pics) was outstanding. The service was friendly and very easy to order. Just pick it, pay for it, take a number and have a seat. It's brought to you fresh and ready to be devoured. Steamed dumplings were great but it's the Buns that have me wanting to come back again and again! The place is chill inside. Music playing and it's simple and clean. What more could you want? MISCELLANEOUS: Parking is available in its own lot or on the metered street. Food can be made to go and vegan options are available. OVERALL: Yes it was worth the drive for me and I also discovered all sorts of small shops in the area that added to the splendor of this place. Give Masons a try ASAP!

Soup dumpling is pretty nice. The skin is a bit too thick but still okay. But i think they botched my pan fried dumplings though. It's over charred, tough skin, and has bitter char taste. The filling is alright. When i asked if this how it supposed to be, they said yes it's crispy. The place is nice and fast, great ambience for a quick lunch. The most notable thing they have is the chili and sesame oil is fragrant and really elevated the dumplings.

Mason's Dumpling Shop in Los Angeles is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly steamed buns sets the mood, and then the food absolutely delivers. Piggy Buns (Steamed Buns) These were almost too cute to eat--perfectly crafted to look like little piglets, complete with doughy ears and snouts. Soft, fluffy, and filled with what tasted like a slightly sweet custard or red bean (depending on variety), they're fun for all ages and incredibly photogenic. Braised Beef Bao The bao was a flavor bomb. Stuffed with tender, savory beef and topped with crunchy veggies, scallions, and sesame seeds, it struck a perfect balance between rich and fresh. The bao bun itself was pillowy soft and lightly sweet, holding everything together beautifully. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly despite the lunchtime. A cozy spot perfect for a quick meal or casual hangout. Seating is limited, so go early if you want to dine in.

They're a short walk from the Highland Park metro station, although they do share a parking lot with some other stores. The inside is a nice and has a lot of cute dumpling themed posters. On a Thursday night, it was not busy at all. There's a self service water dispenser and disposable utensils at the table. I forgot to take pictures but the soup dumplings were very good. We got the original pork and the yuzu chicken. They had a good amount of filling and were juicy. I would recommend using the chili oil for some extra flavor. We also got the angus stewed beef bun which was enjoyable. The beef was tender and the bun was fluffy.

Decided to try this place for the first time since we saw it on Good Mythical Morning and Rhett and Link suggested it! They actually preferred it over Din Tai Fung which is our absolute favorite so we definitely had to try it. Parking lot was pretty empty, not a big lot or anything so be aware of that. The restaurant itself isn't huge either, definitely a mom and pop kinda vibe to it. We walked up to the register and the young lady told us to grab a menu and sit wherever we wanted and order up front when we were ready. We ordered the sweet and sour lotus roots (probably my favorite thing here! Perfect crunchy texture, refreshing, delicious pickly flavor). We also got the original pork soup dumplings and the yuzu chicken dumplings. The waiter delivered the food to our desk, basically right in front of you which was a little scary since everything was super hot and steamy. I was a little surprised and caught off guard since we had a big table and he put it as close as possible lol. The dumplings are HUGE. They have tiny plastic soup spoons so it was really difficult to eat and dip into the sauce. Kind of wish it was more of a one bite kinda dumpling because biting a soup dumpling is really hard without it going everywhere and it's piping hot. Otherwise, they were pretty good. The dumpling casing was very soft and yummy. If you're local, it's a pretty good pick me up spot for soup dumplings. IG: @ammysalamii

You definitely don't get that kind of thing ordering through Uber Eats. The soy sauce chicken (not pictured) was also solid, and honestly this is a great spot if you want food that'll stretch into leftovers for days.
