It's operated by the same company as the Adventure Park, though each requires separate admission tickets. The entrance is about a five-minute walk from the parking lot along a pebbled path. After seeing the tower, it reminded me of the Forest Tower in Denmark and wondered if it served as an inspiration for the design. The Nautilus Tower is 65 feet tall, and you can reach the top via stairs or by a spiral ramp. There are benches along the way for those who need a break. Once at the top, I was greeted with a beautiful view of the surrounding forest and lakes. After enjoying the view, I went down the steel slide, which was a lot of fun! You sit on a mat with handles for the descent, similar to a water slide but without the water. After the steel slide, I explored the Treetop Canopy Walk, accessible from the second level of the tower. The canopy walk was nice but also a little scary, giving me "Final Destination" vibes due to the amount of swinging and swaying on the bridge. I ended my visit at the Children's Treehouse Village, which is a nice play area if you have kids. I would recommend Owl Creek Landing for anyone who loves nature, a great family outing or even a date night. It's a wonderful addition to the Virginia Beach area.

There is a parking kiosk or you can use the app to pay. The VA Aquarium is not affiliated with Owl Creek Landing. The entrance is located adjacent to Ocean Breeze park near the big gorilla. It is a 1/4 mile paved walk without shade Oto the Nautilus Tower. Those with mobility issues navigating uneven terrain beware. The path is not completely paved to the Nautilus tower nor is the path to the treehouse village. From the 3rd level of the ramp (or maybe 2nd?) you can access the treetop canopy trail. Which is not handicap accessible. There's a series of suspension bridges so they bounce and sway. The treehouse village is entertaining. As an adult it was fun to play in the three treehouses and go down the slides. Overall we spent around 2-3 hours there. I'm excited to return and try out the nautilus slide once it's open! On a side note: One employee was quick to reply that they indeed have a golf cart when they overhead me ask another staff member who denied my request for a golf cart to escort someone from our group who was fresh post op knee surgery. That particular staff member who denied accommodations responded with it's a busy day you might want to try on a paid day. The aquarium staff came to the rescue and provided assistance and responded with kindness and understanding.

This would be a good add. A PSA...parents watch your kids and abide by the rules of height to enter. Never leave your child unattended...yes it happens all the time. Place shoes in the storage area just inside the entrance. So why can I eek this to a 3? Because every time I pass by toddlers are having a great time running, jumping around and smiling. So I relinquish my rating to what it's really about...the kids. I'm not going crazy however. It's a very basic play area that's better than nothing. Furthermore the staff does keep it clean. I personally love how this jump park isn't too big (yet it's a fairly good sized space), cause when you have two littles its hard to keep track of both of them but I could pretty much be anywhere and have a line on vision to where they were and what they were doing. This park is at a great location, was fairly clean yet I came at the end of the day, so could definitely use a nice deep clean once everyone left, and the gentleman working at the front desk was kind and respectful. I do have to say that there was only one worker there the entire time I was there (or that I saw), yet it was a slow night so he wasn't looking like he was overwhelmed at all. The servers come to the lanes to take orders, and the tablet at the bowling lane has a button to press for their help. Since it was taking long, we just ordered drinks from the bar nearby. I am basing my review on the activities that me and my daughter experienced. There is lots of parking at the event and it is free.. which is great to see.... Walking in, we were shocked at how expensive everything was. You are literally spending $50+ per hour per person. We did the mini golf. The course was very small. 18 holes in the dark with glow in the dark balls. It started out great but when we reached around hole 6 a group of 12-15 teenagers came in and started speed running through the course.. they were hitting their balls all over the place. My daughter and I had to step aside for and let them speed their way through. After that there were a couple of older kids that were hitting their balls very hard and they were flying off the course.. one of those balls almost hit my daughter in the head.. they really need some supervision in the mini golf room. Otherwise somebody is going g to get seriously injured... Next we want to the arcade section. My daughter loved the VR experience items. But at $5+ dollars for 5 mins.... It adds up really fast. They have a little store where you can get prizes in exchange for tickets. But the big problem is that there are very few machines that actually give you tickets when you play them. There were a couple of claw machines that gave you a chance to win 100'or so tickets. But when you need thousands of tickets to buy anything.. you are literally spending a lot of money. Most of the machines were claw based machines where you could win a prize or the coin push machines which are hard to win anything out of. Overall, I was not a big fan of Apex. It is very expensive for what you get.. you can easily spend over $100 per hour in this place to try all the different things. Unless you have a big promo or coupon that gives you a huge discount.... It is not worth the money. The other big issue is that there is very little supervision of all the kids running around. Most of the staff look like they are high school students working a summer job. Like I mentioned earlier, my daughter almost getting hit in the head with a golf ball is unacceptable!!! Highly don't recommend coming here unless you can get a huge discount.

The biggest downside was the heat, especially upstairs in the laser tag area. It was uncomfortably hot and could definitely use better ventilation. The party room itself is on the smaller side and felt very cramped (only accommodates 12 bodies comfortably) and was warm too. The arcade noise carries in even with the door closed as the walls don't go up to the ceiling, but noise is expected in an arcade setting. That said, there were a lot of thoughtful touches that really stood out. The party room was decorated well, with detailed under the sea murals on the wall, and the place settings were surprisingly nice with sturdy glowing plastic plates, cups, and neatly arranged silverware that matched the neon and black-light theme. It made it feel more put-together than typical party setups. (Even though I decorated with my own decorations and partyware, as the birthday girl had a particular theme she wanted.)Our party attendant made it a point to check in to empty trash and make sure everything was going smoothly. One of the most appreciated features was that parents could watch the laser tag games from downstairs on the screens, and a few were even allowed to jump in and play with their kids at no extra charge, which was awesome. The kids absolutely loved the variety of arcade games and had a blast. Party pricing and packages were comparable to other venues, with three options to choose from, and we really liked being able to bring our own food and drinks. They were also very accommodating, since there wasn't a party before ours, they let us in early to decorate at no extra cost, and they didn't rush us out at the end, only asking for 30 minutes to reset the room for the next group. That flexibility made a huge difference, especially since we had the largest party package with multiple laser tag rounds plus arcade time, cake, and food. Parking was a bit tricky, but that was expected at the oceanfront (and we were glad it was the off-season). Most importantly, the kids had an amazing time and the birthday girl is already asking to have another party there, which says it all. A FUN venue with great staff and party flexibility, just be prepared for the heat, especially upstairs, the typical arcade noise (even in the party room) and the frustration of VB Oceanfront parking, as there isn't dedicated parking for the venue.

Another thing to add-- my loved one who was playing the coin pusher won two cards, but got jammed in the conveyor belt of the coin pusher game, so she wasn't able to recieve the cards she won. I kindly asked the employees in the front with the prizes and cash register if they could open this machine so my sister can get the first two cards she won. They never came to open the machine so I went over again to show a video of her winning another card so they can open the machine in order for my sister to rightfully earn what she won. The employees asked me which card she won so I told them the specific card she won and gave me a card from behind their counter (and it wasn't even the correct character). They gave me a card to "compensate for the inconvenience", but I specifically asked them to open the machine so my sister can get the cards that she won and for future players (so others won't play a jammed game). It wasn't until another lady who had to go up to the to the front counter numerous times to tell them about the jammed machine did they open the machine to give us our cards. This store had a jammed game and the solution to it was simply opening a glass door and grabbing cards from a space where they were stuck (very easy to pull these cards out my sister described). The employee did not even have to use any special tools or go down on their knees to fix this jammed game. I find frustration in this because it took multiple complaints for the employees to actually take action, when the task at hand was very simple. It shows that employees do not care for individual customers and are only there to open and close the store or to just "get by", which is a very lazy approach to any kind of service. As someone who doesn't find many problems in customer service and have grace for people who work in these fields, found the service here quite unpleasant and frustrating.

We got a package with 3 large pizzas, drinks, and 100 points for games. The pizzas were thin and they tasted good while they were hot. After they cool down I wouldn't recommend it, then it tastes like cardboard. They cut them into smaller pieces to get more out of it, which worked out. I ordered fries for about $4 and the cashier warned me that it was 8oz, which I didn't know what to expect. Well, it was about 15 fries scattered on a plate. Lol. I see why she warned me. They should have saved the plate and just put them in my hand. They come with ketchup and ranch. They were bland because they didn't add any salt. If they had salt they may have been better. The drinks are unlimited which is nice. They had pizza, wings, dipping dots, a salad bar, and a few other things. The pizzas were a little bit expensive for what they tasted like. The salad bar is about $12 for unlimited salad. I wanted it but it was iceberg lettuce which looked unappealing and with all those kids running around sneezing , coughing, breathing by the salad bar, I just couldn't... People are letting their little ones sit on these toilet seats because their squat game isn't good yet. But omg ewww. No. Toilet seat covers are necessary. The toilet flushes automatically and it may scare little kids. The child in there peed all over the floor and her clothes because she didn't expect the loud whoosh noise while she was going. Poor baby!! Her mom was pissed but it wasn't her fault. Chuck E Cheese is definitely the place to go for younger kids. It's easy, it felt safe, and the kids have a blast.
