I'm back and better than before…read more We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was creamy, rich, and served with perfectly crisp chips. The shishito peppers were blistered just right with great flavor and a little kick. Simple, but done well. The smash burger was the standout. Cooked perfectly with a great sear, juicy inside, and topped with melty cheese and pickles that balanced everything. Add the truffle fries and it was game over. Crispy, flavorful, and generously seasoned. The Greek salad was fresh and bright, with good quality feta and olives. A solid, refreshing balance to the heavier dishes. Service was exceptional. Attentive without hovering. The decor is warm and stylish, great energy without being too loud.

The free bread is good and they did give us more when we asked for it. It also came with some olives which my husband loved. The corn muffins were also great. The mojito was only mediocre and the Guinness ok. The filet mignon and branzino and accompaniments were very good quality, with the steak and fish perfectly cooked as we ordered them. The sauces though were bland and uninteresting. The lava fudge cake didn't have real fudge and the cake tasted stale. The ambiance was very nice though and the seating comfortable with booths and comfortable chairs. Overall fun nicely decorated spot but don't think I'd go again.

4.8 star review…read more First time visiting. I love the environment, design, bar, and white table cloths. Only small issue was the music was a little too loud - hard to hear conversations. I had the wedge salad and asked for it to be chopped. Done. Then I had Chicken Marsala. My husband and friend had salad with salmon and the roasted chicken. Overall, the food was delicious! Service attentive. I'd go back but I'd take someone with whom I didn't want to have a conversation - too loud. Haha Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review. The food and friendly service were great.

We ordered our drinks and gave me a large sample of an IPA, Highlife! It was perfect. My wife loves to drink Manhattans but it has to be half rye and half sweet vermouth. She said it was Perfect and she is hard to please! LoL. We ordered our meals: Eggs Benedict, linguine with clam sauce with clams and shrimp, and Pappardelle bolognese. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed her birthday. The waiters came and sang "happy birthday." My wife brought cookies so we ate cookies and ice cream. Great memories for our family! The Market received high marks for excellence in food and service! If you're in the North shore of Long Island the Marker restaurant is a must. Good food and safe travels! All the best to you and your families.

Warning to Diners: Bad Food, Worse Service -- and a Sketchy OpenTable Cancellation!…read more We hardly ever eat at neighborhood restaurants since we're in the City most of the time, but we were staying in the neighborhood this weekend, so we decided to give a local spot a try. I rarely leave negative reviews, but tonight's experience deserves a warning to others. What was supposed to be a simple dinner turned into one of the most unsettling dining experiences we've had. My husband and I ordered the pork chop and the chicken pot pie. The pork chop started out fine until we reached a section that smelled foul--a strong, rotten odor with a reddish interior totally different from the cooked part we had already eaten. We both noticed it immediately. When we told the female waiter, someone from the kitchen who maybe the owner eventually came out, only to dismiss us and insist he didn't smell anything. The tone was snobbish and condescending, and there was zero concern that we had already eaten part of something potentially unsafe. At the very least, he should have asked how he could make it right--but he didn't. The pork chop was only removed from the bill after my husband said he would not pay for it. That should never be a negotiation. The chicken pot pie was completely ordinary, and the cornbread topping was dry to the point of being unpleasant. Between the questionable food and the even more questionable customer service, this place left a terrible impression. Neighbors be warned!!! Addendum -- Diners, Please Read / OpenTable, Please Take Note Our reservation was for 6:30. After getting home at 7:50, I went to leave this review on OpenTable--where we made our reservation--only to find that our reservation had been canceled at 7:48 PM, after we had already eaten there. Because of that, we have no record of dining and cannot leave a review on their platform! I had no idea a restaurant could do this. It feels extremely sketchy, especially since canceling a reservation like that conveniently prevents guests from posting an unfavorable review. No wonder the OpenTable rating looks so high. This isn't just disappointing -- it's something OpenTable should be aware of. If restaurants can erase reservations after the fact, it undermines the entire review system that diners rely on. Consider this a warning to future guests and a call for OpenTable to look into this practice.

I was so happy to hear that they opened another restaurant in Glen Cove! Plenty of street parking is available, and they even have a shared parking lot in back of the restaurant! I parked in the back, and entered the restaurant via the backdoor! Note that there are stairs at the back entrance, so if you can't do stairs, it's best to park in front of the restaurant. This Glen Cove locations is lovely; beautiful murals and great vibes. I was shocked and sad to see it so empty on a Saturday evening! I hope more people give this place a chance because the food and service is great! This was our Shared Menu (plenty for 2ppl, and we had leftovers): -- Water Buffalo Momos w.Chili Sauce (8pcs/$18): the Momos were tasty; the meat was very lean. I would skip the Chili sauce next time. I didn't like the sweet and sour taste of the sauce, so next time I'd like to try the steamed Momos with Johl sauce instead. -- Choila Roti "Not a Taco" with Jackfruit (2pcs/$12): Not a Taco but similar to a taco. This was delicious and I'd get this again. We choice the Jackfruit version but they also have a chicken version. -- Masala Wings (Sauteed wet version) (4pcs/$11): I remember really liking the wings when I was at the Ridgewood location but couldn't recall which wings we had. On this visit, we had the wet version which was good but I realized that I like their dry version better. -- Grilled Lamb Chops w.Timur Sauce, Veggies & white rice (2pcs/$25): Surprisingly, this was my least fave dish of the night. I normally love lamb chops but these chops didn't really have a nice seared taste to them. The texture was a little off for me. Also, it was very boney with not much meat. I would try another entree next time. All in all, a good meal! I found the large selection of appetizers more interesting than the entrees, and would have been happy just sharing a bunch of appetizers and small plates. Customer service was welcoming and friendly! It was a pleasure to chat with the owner. Nice addition to the neighborhood!

3.5 With summer…read morehere, who doesn't crave a lobster roll or a good po' boy? When you search for seafood spots on the North Shore of Nassau, this place ranks near the top--so we decided to make the trip out to Bayville. The restaurant fits perfectly in its coastal small-town setting. You can smell the saltwater in the air and expect good seafood. As soon as you walk in, you get that fresh seafood aroma (in a good way), notice the blue and gray decor, and see the bar with a raw bar to the right. Our waiter was super friendly and walked us through the specials and menu. We ordered Schultzy's baked clams, a lobster roll, and a shrimp po' boy. The baked clams were fantastic--probably some of the best I've ever had, no joke. Perfect seasoning, breadcrumb texture, and generous clam bits in a nice shell. The shrimp po' boy was also great, with perfectly crispy breading. Where we felt a bit let down was the lobster roll and the fries. At $38, it seemed like they used barely half of a 1.25 lb lobster. Was it cooked and seasoned well? Yes. But for that price, the portion was underwhelming. The fries were also a miss. Although they looked like steak fries but were thinner. Unfortunately, they seemed like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp and weren't freshly made. Overall, not a bad spot if you're okay with the pricing. The atmosphere and service are great, and definitely check out the clams and po' boy.
