Happyrito is a Cajun-Vietnamese fusion seafood boil restaurant located in a shopping center up in Cedar Park. It's located right off 183 so easy highway access + easy free parking typical of a suburban shopping strip. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe about 8 - 10 tables that can seat between 4 - 6 each. We came on a Sunday and even though there weren't huge lines, be prepared to wait 5 - 10 minutes to order and another 15 - 20 minutes until the food comes out. The food itself tastes great - very true to Cajun-Vietnamese seasoning (garlic butter galore) similar to what I've had in Houston. Highly recommend their special sauce which mixes the two other sauces together for maximum flavor. Comes with bibs and gloves for a "clean" eating experience. Pricing is a bit on the higher end for a place in a suburban strip mall and that's the only knock. This is also typical for crawfish boil type restaurants though so didn't knock any stars off. read more

My husband and I were really excited to try this place cuz we love cajun seafood boils and it's also close by to us vs going all the way to boiling crab. We came on a friday night around 6:45 pm and ordered their garlic parmesan fries, a margarita, and 3 lbs of happy style sauce crawfish mild that came with 1 potato and 1 corn. Total came out to be $65 with tip. There were no tables available, as the restaurant is quite small, so we were offered to sit at the bar. -The parmesan garlic fries came with the garlic on the side in a little container containing mostly oil and garlic crunches on the bottom. The flavor was good, but it was too oily. I wish they poured the garlic onto the fries vs having us dip it in the oil. Not sure how much these were, as the price wasn't on the menu I took snapshots of. -The margarita was on the smaller side, but my husband enjoyed it. $8 -3lbs crawfish was ehhh. It was definitely frozen so it was harder to peel and honestly, nothing special, which was disappointing. It was also kinda mushy?? which is definitely a first.. The only thing I liked was the happy style sauce. We ordered mild, but can definitely go hotter since the mild wasn't spicy at all. Portions were kinda small, tbh and so we left unsatisfied. The crawfish came out to be $41 with tax, which was kinda expensive.. esp being frozen. Thoughts: -very tiny restaurant with only 8 tables, including 1 large table for 6-7 people -you can't order 1 or 2 lbs of crawfish, the minimum is 3 lbs which I feel is a bit odd.. -kinda expensive with the 3lbs crawfish esp it being frozen cuz you can get fresh crawfish for less than what they're charging at other places Honestly, pretty disappointed with what we ordered. Guess we'll have to keep looking for other seafood boils. I saw that they had crawfish etouffee, which I am looking forward to trying next time I come. We tried HappyRito Seafood and were really disappointed. Food: The food was overpriced for what you get, and the portions were small. Ours wasn't very hot and didn't have much flavor. Service: Service felt slow and unorganized. We waited longer than expected and it just didn't feel worth it. I've also seen some questionable things on social media about how customers have been treated by the owner or managers, which made me a little hesitant to try this place in the first place. They weren't there when we visited, but it definitely left me with concerns. Ambiance: The place felt crowded and not very clean, which made the experience even less enjoyable. We've ordered delivery many many times, This is the first time I actually came in and ordered takeout. It took about Today I ordered 3 lb of crawfish (appx $15 pp) happy style, which comes with one potato and one corn. I added sausage ($5) and one blue crab ($12). I love the happy sauce! I also ordered the lunch special mini boil with 1 lb of shrimp two eggs and corn. The mini boil comes with a drink too, sweet tea. It's saweeeeet. I also ordered the lunch special fried fish (flounder) with coleslaw and mac'n cheese, also came with a drink, unsweetened tea. This came to about $110. I'm a big big crawfish lover, and although this wasn't the cheapest place we could've gotten fresh crawfish in Texas, it was pretty darn good. The crawfish were huge, especially compared to what we normally get in California. This place is a Viet-Cajun style, and although I did enjoy the flavors, places like Boiling Crab nail the vietnamese fusion better. It was about $39+ for 3 lbs of crawfish. Right when we pulled into the parking lot you could smell the aroma of garlic and spices . I love the seasoning here, you can't go wrong with Veit Cajun boil. The restaurant was cute and had nice pictures of I'm guessing the owners family. You had to order through a QR code or at the bar area. The service was basically none existent, the food took a long time to come out, I'd say like 25-30mins for just this plate, during this time they did not give me my drink until the food came out so I was just sitting there. The "parmesan" fries were cold and literally is just sprinkle Parmesan on top of regular French fries. The Mac n cheese definitely needed salt and pepper which was made it taste better. I'd give it a solid 6 after the S&P. The shrimp were the star of the show, fried crispy, the flavor was really good and the shrimp were really big. The portion was good size especially for lunch. The restaurant walls have seafood boil sauce splattered on them as well, so not the cleanest. OVERALL not bad but not amazing! I have been 2x in the last 2 weeks and had awful service. The fried shrimp were okay but the very expensive soft shell crabs were mushy and inedible. Couldn't tell anyone because noone asked if I was okay, needed anything, refill a drink. I had to ask for plastic wear and gave up, it never came. I thought maybe because it was a friday night and I sat at the bar. So I tried again today for crawfish. 5lbs was over $100 with extra corn, potatoes and sausage. They were tiny soft shells, but tasty. Waited 45 mins for a table, then waited anoth 10 to be sat. Got our own menus, 5lbs(did not look like 5lbs) came, no plates for 4 people, no bibs, just drop and leave. Never came back, we had to ask for those items and our drinks which we had to ask for multiple times. Again, never asked if we were okay. I told the server we wanted to order more food after the crawfish, never came back. We left hungry after spending $136 These are great tasting but dang to be treated like we are an inconveince to come to a restaurant is not good. I love me some seafood and was happy to learn they are so close! We did online ordering which doesn't give the option to set a pickup time, but the quoted window of 15-20 minutes was pretty spot-on. I would just plan accordingly, but even if you have to wait a bit there are lots of shops to roam around in while you wait to receive the text that your order is ready! The variety available made it hard to choose but I finally narrowed it down to: -B4 Soft-Shell Crab Basket: What a deal, not only does this come with 3 well battered soft-shell crabs +sauce of choice (can't go wrong with tartar) but you also get a sweet roll, fries, a simple salad with your choice of dressing (highly recommend the Ginger dressing) and a cup of red beans and rice! -P2 Oyster Po' Boy: This came with 6 oysters+ sauce of choice, loved how well fried it was and the bread was soft. -BS4 (3lb) LIVE Crawfish Boil: Enjoyed how the crawfish were a decent size but for the price it felt a little high per pound and only included 1/2 an ear of corn and a potato. Unlike other traditional Viet Cajun places, HappyRito also seems to just toss the crawfish with your sauce of choice after they are cooked so the flavor doesn't have a chance to penetrate into anything. The top crawfish in the area and best deal you'll probably ever get! $88.88 for 10 lbs of freshly made crawfish. They also just dropped their 'per lb' price to $10.95/lb which is the cheapest it'll be this season. Great size at this time of the season too. They Choose from three flavors, but we love it drenched in their incredible viet Cajun sauce (signature happy style). 5 lbs was a good amount for 3 people. Seafood boils seem to be all the rage these days, so you can find these places everywhere. I enjoy this one bc it's close to home and pretty consistently good. I had the snow crab boil and 1lb of crawfish. One star taken away due to the frozen crawfish instead of live. You can definitely tell the difference. Their sauces are really good and a garlic bomb so be careful. I prefer my seafood on the simple side spice wise, so I like the butter flavor better. I came here with a friend on a Friday evening and was surprised to find the restaurant packed. There isn't an organized way to get seated (first come, first served type of service). You can either order at the counter or at the table by scanning their QR code. There was limited seating so we eventually settled for a seat at the end of the bar. However, there were some cutlery and boxes in the way, which I had to move to the side myself so that there was room for our food. I know the servers were busy, but it would've been nice if these items weren't in the way. We also had to ask for gloves and napkins because it wasn't offered to us like it was to other tables (minus one star for this lack of attentiveness of service). I ordered their crawfish boil with their happy style seasoning. We ordered some additional add-ons like mushrooms and sausages. The seasoning was good but we noticed that they only added 5 small pieces of mushrooms (pricey for a small amount). I also ordered their lemonade drink, but it was too sweet for me. The shrimp in the happy boil was rubbery in our opinions, probably cooked too long and the crab legs were tiny. Probably wouldn't order it again. Crawfish was a decent amount and the flavoring was good, but expensive for what you get. The Cajun pasta was pretty good and would order that again. The restaurant is a bit smaller than I expected and a very causal vibe. I like that they offer aprons so you don't get any sauce on your clothes. It came with 1 corn, 2 potatoes, 1 sausages (we switched out the potatoes for an extra corn cus CORN IS THE BEST). The happy sauce is garlicy and heavenly. My friend took the leftover sauce to-go because that's the perfect fried rice sauce to make for lunch the next day (you're welcome for the idea). Unfortunately the crawfish is still pretty small so that was disappointing but we still had a great time and ate every single crawdaddy that was on our plate.
