Hello. I've always been a lover of seafood! But, originally being from Germany, I've rarely gotten to authentic seafood dishes. Those are quite expensive in Germany. Anywho... I've been in Clarksville, TN since 2016... My 1rst real seafood experience here in the US was on a lil trip I took to Florida in 2017. I just recently discovered Harbor Cafe'... So, I wanted to something good but couldn't think of any place to go to andkind of came here because of a lack of options. For a Saturday night the place was absolutely dead and with my experience here I can kind of see why. I sat at the bar and ordered a plate of buffalo wings, like they were straight out of a Sysco kit for wings. If you want good wings in the area...well there's a Zaxby's down the street that I would direct you towards. The worst part was that I was reaching for a piece of celery and it turned out to be an uncooked french fry. I don't know why that would be-the server said it's probably because they're next to each other in the kitchen but it makes me wonder if they're that lackadaisical about garnish then I'm afraid to see how they handle everything else. I got their mushroom burger and added bacon and it was all right, nothing spectacular,again just felt like it was something just put together right off the truck. We had a great lunch here today. I had grilled shrimp with vegetables instead of asparagus and a baked sweet potato. Everything was seasoned perfectly. My husband had a platter with 3 different kinds of shrimp, asparagus, and a baked potato. He ate the complementary rolls as well. He loved and ate everything. First time here and new to the area. I'm not sure why the reviews are so terrible!? The prices are not bad at all despite previous reviews. 2 steaks, 4 beers and an appetizer in a Saturday night was $55, so if you're "blowing your whole pay check on one meal", as one reviewer claimed, huh? Perhaps in 2012 the restaurant was under other management or maybe Clarksville folks are impossible to please? Anyhow, we stayed in the bar area booths and were served by the bartender, Will. He was prompt, polite and congenial. The staff are all pretty young and there were regulars enjoying themselves, so it's not a quiet place but good for kids. I ordered the NY strip, baked potato with raw horseradish. The steak was medium well (not well) as ordered, but yummy. The horseradish was hot and perfect! The prime rib my husband ordered was seasoned well and just as ordered. We had wings which were 6 on a 1-10, but hot and served fast. Silverware, bathrooms and the restaurant were clean. Went to Harbor Cafe last night for the first time. It was about 7:45pm. There were 3 of us. Told the girl that was to seat us I wanted a booth. She put us at a table and there was clearly booths open ( like 4) right across from us. Table was sticky and felt dirty. Ordered our food and my Ceasars salad was a house salad with onions and tomatoes on it, with a cup of dressing on the side. When I told the waiter that I ordered a Ceasars salad he looked at me dumbfounded and told me that, that's what that is. I told him, no what he brought me was a house salad, that my husband ordered a house salad.. that they were identical except the dressing was not the same. His answer was to bring me an empty plate so I could remove the tomatoes and onions. We ordered our dinner and none of us got what we odered.. Our 14 year old ordered fish and chips, instead teen got fish sticks and fries. Hubby ordered 20 oz sirloin and he got 12 oz ribeye. I ordered rare prime rib and I don't know what cut I got, but it was not Prime Rib. I could not cut the meat with the knife. Ended up using my husband's knife to cut up steak. Was very bland. Like no flavor at all bland. I ate three bites and all of baked potato. Teen ate one fish stick and said they were oily and tasted funny. Hubby ate about half his steak. Not at all impressed. They have a very large variety of options on the menu, maybe even too many. From ribs and steak, to seafood, to fried rice. This should have been the "go the other way" clue. Ordered the oysters Rockefeller (oysters on a half shell with spinach cheese and bacon) the cheese seemed like it was in a bag was that was left open in the refrigerator, and they sprinkled it on top and threw it in the microwave for 3 secs. 3 secs because it still wasn't melted. It's tasted just as bad as it looked. The regular oysters were not appetizing either. They had mojitos, 2 for 1. I ordered blueberry, tasted like blue syrup, sent it back. Got strawberry, Tasted like cough syrup, sent it back. Got a regular mojito, tasted like the mint had gone bad last month. I swear I'm not picky. My go to drink is the mojito, but this was no mojito. I ordered the shrimp and scallop pasta, ehhh, not bad not good enough to return for or recommend. I only ate half the pasta and it wasn't worth taking home. (Has absolutely nothing on Fridays and outbacks pastas) The seafood fried rice in a pineapple, was a good look. A lot for one serving, tasted good, and worth getting again. If you go, get "something" fried rice. I don't think you can mess that up. The rolls may be the best thing they offer, and those are free. Service was good. I went to Harbor Cafe with 15-20 colleagues for a work dinner. If I were a server and had seen us coming, I would have hidden and tried to pawn the table off to a colleague. After all, I'm sure large parties are challenging, even when they're friendly. And we were challenging. We ordered lots of appetizers, changed our minds on some drinks and occupied the heart of the restaurant, where I'm sure we weren't the quietest group they've ever served. Nonetheless, Harbor's staff seemed not only prepared, but also welcoming and eager to serve us. The service was friendly and efficient, and I haven't even gotten to the food yet. The menu is diverse. You could be the pickiest eater in Middle Tennessee and find plenty of options to enjoy. I'm somewhat adventurous and wanted to explore the seafood and Asian options, which are what the restaurant is known for. But there are also burgers, steaks, and other commonplace selections. I started with the Asian dumplings, which were succulent, alongside lightly breaded calamari. As a bonus, the server brought kimchi to the table. While I'm not a Korean food expert, it was the best kimchi I've had in the Nashville area [FYI, it's spicy -- which I love, but just a heads-up for those who don't like heat]. For my main course, I enjoyed the spicy triple crown. It's a mix of chicken, shrimp, beef and vegetables in a spicy black bean sauce, housed inside a tortilla bowl [like you'd find in a taco salad]. I really liked it. Great flavor, a good proportion of meat to veggies, and I always like when my food containers are edible! The portion was ample and I wasn't able to finish it, but I gave it my best shot. For dessert, don't miss the deep-fried oreos! Yeah, you read that correctly. After receiving our food I noticed something crawling on the booth seat behind them. Immediately we all saw and the other guest did as well that sat behind them. A live roach crawling. So disgusting. The food tasted delicious but we immediately lost our appetite. The manager was shocked and immediately began to get nervous when she tried explaining what it was and that the restaurant gets serviced for any pests. My server was very kind and pleasant. Other than that, all I can say is save your money. I ordered the filet and lobster and I have no idea what was posing as lobster on the plate. The texture and smell was just off. My well meaning server even said it looked and smelled funny and that the manager would check it out. That's really not good enough for an expensive entree. If you are acknowledging it's off, then offer something else or comp part of the meal. I was offered a free dessert which I declined. I have no reason to believe that it would be any good. I am so incredibly full and satisfied. I didn't know what to order and the menu was fairly large. I ended up ordering calamari, nachos, and the sunshine salad. The calamari was light and tender. It came with two sauces, both were tasty. The nachos were great and I didn't even put a dent in them. My salad was also plentiful and delicious. The pecans in it were so good. The waitstaff was great, we sat at the bar top. I'm really happy with our choice to come here. I had read some reviews the other day and it made me hesitant. I can assure you, I'm happy we didn't listen to the reviews. This place is great and we will be back. I'm excited to try their oriental menu since the owners moved here from China. read more

My daughter and I visited Harbor Cafe Sunday afternoon. We walked in the door and was immediately seated which was great. It went down hill from there. We sat in our booth in plain site of several of the servers that walked past us over and over. We sat there patiently waiting to be greeted by someone...anyone and NO ONE said a word. There were 3 maybe 4 servers working the floor and I guess my daughter and I were invisible. I waited as long as I could without being served or even greeted for aboit 20 minutes! I then got up and went back to the front to leave! I asked for a Manager to the same lady who seated me and she said she was one of the Managers. I told her how rude it was that no one served us and she commenced to tell me that she was on the phone with another sever who was calling off. Not sure why I needed to know that! She then asked if I wanted her to serve us. Now the fact that she had to ask me that made me even angrier! Why would you need to ask a customer if I want you to serve me??? The service was good. It was the waiters first night there, so he had to ask a lot of questions, but he was pleasant and attentive. We went in shortly before close so he was patient as well. The appetizers were amazing. We got the calamari (a first for me, my wife's choice) and the fried dumplings. Both fresh and cooked perfectly. For dinner we both got the shrimp trio, although I doubled up on grilled shrimp instead of the scampi. A wise choice as my wife's scampi were "nothing to write home about.". My side choices were fries and sautéed mushrooms which came in a small ramekin. I was disappointed and asked to change to a salad. When I asked about the lettuce in the salad being all white and not crisp, the manager stated it was iceberg and another lettuce mixed. Not my first day eating salad, or lettuce. It just wasn't good. I had always avoided this place for no real reason. I don't know why. Last night, my wife and I decided to give it a try. There was no wait. The atmosphere/decor was like a ski lodge. I likes it. There is a lot of variety on the menu. When we walked in, we were greeted by an extremely friendly Asian man. It was some what like the scene's from the bar in the movie Good Morning Vietnam. Went there yesterday around 1:00 PM for a beer. On the way in I noticed a blackboard with fish and chips for around $11. Even though I had eaten earlier I decided to try it. It was good, much better than the greasy, although tasty catfish sandwich off the lunch menu I a couple of weeks ago. The dinner is more expensive but you do get a lot of fish. On the way I asked what kind of fish it is, and why it's only on the sign. The maître d' said it's catfish, and is only sold when in season. I could not eat it all, so I took it home. Let me leave you some real information here. We came after having a horrible experience at another establishment and decided to stop here. Caitlin was wonderful and the service was by far excellent. The drinks are good and for what we ordered the food was good. Some food tastes like its previously frozen which is normal. Definitely stop in for great service and a relaxing time. 15+yrs I. Food service I would come here again knowing the food is good. I would suggest revamping and updating your menu and inside, there is too much going on, are you steak and seafood or burgers or oriental, I think your business would definitely increase if you established what your great at and not try to have such a large menu. I absolutely would not recommend this place. Went for dinner and the food was disgusting. Found shrimp tail in our chicken and the fish and chips were soggy. Was told it will be 6-8 Fish fillets but it's frozen fish sticks. Also the coconut shrimp well we were told it's 8 skewers with 4 pieces of shrimp on it. Well we ended up getting each skewers with one shrimp each and then the two side was five piece of asparagus and some cold broccoli. It was 18$ for the 8 pieces of shrimp. By far the worst place I've been. Absolutely disgusting. I hate to complain but I rarely will ever put a review on Yelp but this was disgusting. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because our server Sarah was a really good server and the alligator was okay but overpriced. The food was not good! My daughter ordered King Lo Mein which was supposed to include Shrimp, chicken and beef they forgot the beef it only had noodle shrimp and chicken. She said it had no flavor. It was my first time dining at this establishment. My spouse has dined a few times. The hostess/waitress was very nice. We were sat at a booth near high level smell of seafood. My spouse ordered a seafood platter and I ordered General Tso's chicken. Everything on the seafood platter was room temperature. The butter sauce was cold. On the menu it says that upon request you may ask for spicy General Tso's chicken. The chicken was cold and hard without any spice and drenched in cold sauce. I sent my food back, but no one from management/ownership came to ask about the food/service at all. NEVER again will I eat from here. The outside looks very run down and I thought the inside would be an improvement. It was not. It gives the feels of the owners taking over a restaurant from someone else and they did not renovate to better the mood. Even my spouse was disgusted by the food. The menu is all over the place. Stop trying to make so much money to survive as a restaurant and work on your customer service, better cooks, and menu. Came here based on the Online reviews, and wanting something that wasn't a chain while on a trip. This particular choice was a mistake. Food was very bland and overall not particularly flavorful, about like a microwave meal, left both of us queasy an hour after eating. We had the shrimp alfredo pasta and Mahi-Mahi dish with crabmeat and shrimp. Garlic bread wasn't even edible. Not a value for a $55 check for two people with no appetizer. Waitress barely broke stride at the stable, was curt, and obviously had better things to do, though the place only had about 5 booths full. Not recommended, I'd have been unhappy paying $20 for this.
