I went in to grab a few things and saw pick ups on blue tag (member pricing) for $1.79 so I picked up two. After standing in a long line to check out, my cashier changed from one woman to another mid ring. Weird but it happens. I noticed my two pickups rang at $2.99 each and asked her about it. She said "oh. Blue tags are for members only." I suppose errantly assuming because I wear a bra I'm not a member? (I am one.) Then she checked and said the pickups were on blue tag last month and pointed to a display near check stand. I said "Thats funny because I picked up two of these back on aisle 6 end-cap BECAUSE they were on blue tag." I told her I'd go take a photo and did and came back and showed her my phone screen. She reiterated the sale was last month. I reiterated that the price was on display in their store in washington state. She finally called the manager and price was adjusted but this left a bad impression on me. She never said "sorry for the confusion" or even "you were right." I hate retailers (and restaurants ) who display one price then charge a higher one. I'm also not keen on assumptions made about me because of my sex. read more

Best place to shop for tools etc in the area! All the staffing is top notch , you can tell they care about their customer experience. Always happy to help you find stuff and a lot of times will click coupons for you with out you even having them! The ITC membership is absolutely worth it- great savings easily adds up over time to be worth the cost of the membership. Store is always clean enough. Employees are constantly restocking shelves when they have more inventory. Easy parking lot to get in and out of. They're quick to open more registers so that lines don't get too long. I've been frequenting this location for 5 years (10+ years total as a loyal customer) without so much as a single issue with anything I've purchased. I've acquired a lot over the years; from manual hand tools, to battery powered tools, generators, and hardware... I am one happy customer. I needed a new single-purpose air compressor for occasional (hobby) plasma cutting. After doing some research, I found a cheap/decent compressor that was on clearance, and checked store availability. I went out of my way to go to the Puyallup store to purchase the compressor (which was also supposedly available in Seattle supposedly, which would have been an even bigger pain), only to be told, "Yeah, we've been out of that one for a while now..." They did double-check for me, but no-go. I find it amazing that the sales associate can check the computer to confirm availability, but that the inventory control system is not linked to inventory assessment on the internet? Or maybe it's just classic bait-and-switch tactics. I probably should have called first, but why have the ability to check stock on on a store-by-store basis if it is not true/accurate? read more

My husband and I rushed in after our greenhouse was severely damaged by a falling branch. The 6'×8' greenhouse that we originally bought from HF two years ago had proven to withstand all types of weather, and I was absolutely devastated when I saw the aftermath of today's wind storm. We were lucky enough to find the same greenhouse at HF just before they were to close. After explaining the situation to the store's manager (Chris) he was kind enough to offer us a discount on our replacement greenhouse. I am not a tool person so when I ran in here quickly for a bungee cord to tie something down it was great to get help without feeling like a complete idiot. Service was so nice and we were checked out quickly. We actually ended up buying more than what we needed as the prices seemed pretty competitive. Make sure you get their flyers/book for some great savings. What a nice surprise!! Bought an inexpensive chainsaw here. Took it home and found that someone had accidentally put a returned unit back in the shelf. Took it back to the store and received AMAZING and friendly service from two of the managers!! They apologized for the mistake and even gave me a little discount in the replacement. I came in later in the day and the supervisor Justin at the checkout line barked at me that they were going to close in a few minutes. That's fine, I already knew what I wanted. I grabbed a 2 ton floor jack and tried to use a 20% off coupon. He informed me that floor jacks are excluded from that coupon. I asked if they had any specific coupons and he lied to me and said no. Use to go to the Federal Way store which was a pain. Nice this is closer. But, other than it being closer, it isn't as good. This one seems to carry less and the customer service is worse. Federal Way, they would give you the free items, even if you didn't have a coupon. Puyallup, everything has to be just right. Don't help you as much either. Don't seem to be interested in doing business unless you are willing spend a lot of money. Don't go a much as I would have because it just isn't customer friendly. read more

I will continue to shop at Harbor Freight, but only when purchasing items I can take home the same day. Today I went in to buy a large rolling tool chest which the woman working there told me was out of stock and needed to be pre-ordered to pick up in a few weeks. I was fine with that and decided to go ahead and order it. When I went up to the counter with the ticket, the clerk looked confused and told me they didn't have any in stock. I told him that I was aware of that and wanted to order one. He told me I couldn't order one but they would have a shipment arrive in 4 days and I could buy one then. I asked if I could pay for it today and he said no, unless I wanted to pre-order which meant it would be there in about a month. I asked him why I could buy one next week, but have to wait a whole month if I wanted to pay for it now??? He said because the ones that are arriving next week were all ordered by other people to pick up. This employee was obviously extremely confused about his ability to perform his job and made me feel very uncomfortable about giving them $400 for something I may or may not ever see. I decided to spend a little more and purchase from Home Depot. read more
