I just wanted to know if the Rocklin ca store would be open tomorrow due to the crisis , son I phone them 45 mins before closing time, tbut he phone rang and rang no one would answer, the n they picked up phone and hung up, so I called back again , the same thing they just hung up , i tired another 10 times because i know they there, they would not answer there phone. Today I need to buy a new generator, and although HF has one for half the price of a new Honda, I'm going to go ahead and buy the Honda. Here's why: Years ago I bought some property, and for a few years I was living off the grid. I purchased three generators from HF. Large, medium, and small. Large to power the well (220v), medium to power my home AC and frig, and a small one to go in the back of my truck for corded power tools. Using them weekly/daily, after a year they got harder and harder to start (like needing starting fluid and pulling and pulling on the rope). Finally they just quit working. Btw, I always kept them under cover, used Chevron gas and a good quality oil. I also bought a dolly that the wheels came off of after one week, an electric chainsaw that had an internal part shatter after a month of use, a winch for my truck that no way could pull what it was rated for (not even close...said 3 tons..it could only pull a ton). Oh yes, then there's the 3-ton floor jack that the linkage for the release came apart and was lost, rendering the jack unsafe to use. The moral of the story? HF is great for one-time use, like if you need a power tool one time to get a job done. Or wrenches that aren't going to be too stressed. I will say that the headlamp I bought still works after 2 years! Also disposable items like drill bits, sandpaper, and batteries are a good deal at HF. Caveat Emptor! read more

Harbor Freight Tools is he place to go when you need a quick tool. I've purchased tools here a few times and I've had one tool go bad on me, which was a torque wrench. That type of tool should be purchased through a name brand manufacturer, just my the nature of force used for that tool. Aside from that I've purchased, pneumatic tools, saws, garden tools and others which have worked great! They have an annual parking lot sale which I try to make every year. It's a great time to purchase little things here and there. If you need a quick tool for a very cheap price this is the place to go. read more

This review is not necessarily for the Rocklin store. But, for Harbor Freight in general. I also called their home office. My complaint is that I received a flyer on 12/2/2019 for their black Friday ad which ended 12/1. When I received the ad on 12/2 I assumed (ass U me) that the sale had been extended so I trotted the 10 miles to HF to make a couple of purchases. When I started to check out they said no can do as sale ended yesterday. So I just left and let them put the items back on the shelf. When I got home I call HF home office and was told the same thing. Nope, not on sale anymore. Shame on them for sending the ad out after it had expired. read more

Yesterday, I made several purchases at this store. The corporation was suppose to get new computers so that ITC members would automatically get the member prices at the register, but years later, these don't work that way, so if you expect to get the member price, you are expected to print-out the coupon before you come to the store. Sometimes they'll take the image from the phone, but today the list of coupons was very lengthy and 3 columns wide on my iPhone. They are not searchable on an iPhone, nor are they printable. I had seen one for this item but also another one for a second item which I kept at hand for the cashier. I was searching for the 1st one when an employee said he would look on his computer but then said he couldn't find an ITC price for that item. In the interests of not holding up the line any longer they took the store sale price, but said if I found it, they would correct it. When I got home, 60 miles away, I did find the ITC price right there where I was looking, so I called them hoping we could get a credit over the phone or email the receipt and coupon, but they flatly refused to do anything but have me come back to the store (120 mile drive) claiming that my credit card required 2 signatures to get the refund! Apparently, the cost of extended service protection is now being priced based on the full retail price, instead of the price you pay for it as it had been for years. read more

Price is excellent some products quality is way to poor. Returns used to be easy for a broken item but now they always want a receipt. I never keep my receipt. They need a better tracking system. read more

The cashier named Deannie was horrible customer service. I've been here so many times in the past 3 years. There was never a problem with using coupon. I always used the coupon without questioning me. Today, i tried to use my coupon and spent 15 min at the cashier. I finally left without buying anything. Can't go wrong when you need a tool on a budget. All the hand tools are now backed by a lifetime warranty. You can't really beat that when you bought it at less than $3. Staff has been friendly for the most part. Busy days tend to get feisty behind the registers but it was never towards me and I don't know the reason otherwise. Can't beat the coupons from the local ads either. It's always worth a shot. read more

As everyone knows at Harbor Freight you get what you pay for. The difference in this location is the staff. They know the deal and are always very easy to work with on returns etc. always polite and unfortunately I go so often we are all almost on first name basis now. We went to the store looking for wheel covers. Two guys at the registers talking to much to each other we didn't even get a hello. Walked through the store and couldn't find the item we came for. Employees walking around and still no one asked us if we needed help. I finally went to the register and asked. One guy said isle 8 then continued to talk about the schedule in the store. Finally one employee came from the back with items to stock and finally showed us where the item was. Left the store without buying anything and no goodbyes or thank you by the two guys still talking at the register. Won't be back.. read more

I know, I know, uou can only expect so much at a store like Harbor Freight that is known for cheap tools. My husband shops there from time to time and has had no major complaints until this week. He made the 25 mile trip, bought a $50 buffer and drove home. The buffer was encased in plastic wrap inside the box and the manual, warranty info etc. were all there. However, when he took the buffer out of the wrap, it was completely covered in black grease, and the foam attachment was worn and greasy. Shocked, he called the store, and as expected, they said to bring it back. He decided to go ahead and use it first since it was clearly already well used, but as it turned out, it didn't work, so he made the long trip back to return it. The manager was apologetic but when my husband asked for a discount to make up for the inconvenience, he was only offered 10% off. This, in spite of the fact that Harbor Freight regularly sends out "20% off your entire purchase" coupons. The real question is, how could such a thing have occurred? A customer returned a defective, used, dirty item, and it got put back on the shelf? Pretty bad, even for a store with as spotty a reputation as Harbor Freight has. read more

The tools are not the best but priced accordingly. My issue is when you try to get information on out of stock items nobody knows a thing." We just get what they send us". In this day and age a company the size of Harbor Freight should be able to tell you to the day when inventory will arrive. I will look elsewhere and spend a little more for better service. read more

I'm not even going to discuss the products because they are what they are and sometimes they fit the bill. My comments are re: customer service or lack of any. Earlier this evening, I called Harbor Freight and spoke with Jill who told me she was the closing manager tonight. I asked if there was a way to purchase two of one item that was on special without having to come back the following day because the coupon said one per day. She said that I could purchase two at the same time and that she would be on until close and to ask for her when I came in. The items in question were approximately $100/each. I went to Harbor freight at about 6:30 PM walked in and asked for Jill. I was told she was taking her lunch break but would be back on the floor very soon. The first girl I spoke to was nice enough to lend me a tape measure and lead me to the warehouse so I could measure the boxes to see if they would fit in my vehicle. During this time I was waiting for Jill to come back onto the floor after someone told her that I was waiting for her. After about 15 minutes, I approached another gal (short w/tattoos) and asked if she could ask Jill when she'll be back on the floor. She then kept asking me questions why I need to speak with her and regarding what. Each time I answered, it didn't seem to motivate her to move. The questions continued and seemed like qualifying questions although I don't think she knew that's what she was doing ax toy. It felt like she just wanted me to jump through hoops. She then said she would go get Jill and I waited another 10-15 minutes and no one showed up. I continued to pace back-and-forth by the cash registers waiting for her to appear. All of a sudden, I see the short tattooed gal walking from the back of the store and without stopping, says that Jill is still at lunch as she walked by me. I've then asked if there was a way to make the purchase of the two items that were on special per the conversation that Jill and I had earlier in the evening on the phone. I got no response. I put down the tape measure that was lent to me earlier and said I guess I won't be able to purchase $200 worth of product tonight because no one apparently wants to help me and walked out the door. No one made any attempt to help me or appease me in anyway and keep me from walking out the door. They just didn't care whether I spent $200+ or not. The attitude is horrible. It's this kind of customer service that hurts the reputation of the company. The one star is for the first gal who helped me in the warehouse. read more

I would give a zero if I could. We called at 10:00 am to have a generator held for us. We drove down there, over an hour drive, after work. There is a generator up front so the cashier starts to ring it up for us. Then it is noticed that the name is different. The cashier calls the supervisor and he comes out and says the person called an hour ago to hold it. We called at 10:00am! The supervisor, Phillip, refused to sell it to us. So, they sold the one we had on hold out from under us and then they refused to sell us this one even though we had called hours earlier. Phillip was completely rude and unhelpful. He just threw his hands up in the air and backed away then turned and walked away. I called and complained to the manager, but I want it known how unfairly the treated a good customer that was willing to spend a good amount of money. We had to call around ourselves and then drive another half an hour to the Howe avenue store where they were great and said they would never do that and the Rocklin store should have sold it to us. Phillip should not be a supervisor anywhere. His customer service is the worst I've ever seen. read more

You cannot beat the prices here. lifetime warranties on sockets. beware of any power tools though. I had a reciprocating saw blow up in my hands. Half way through the cut the head shot straight off. It was actually pretty funny. I also bought a compressor here, paid for the 2 year warranty and it broke at 11 months. took it back, they exchanged it and told me my warranty was now void. if I wanted to spend another $50 I could get another year. what's the point of a 2 year warranty if you can only use it once? by the way, the one year free replacement is total bull. they obviously didn't honor it even when I had my receipt and spoke with the manager. so, beware. Its probably in the pamphlet somewhere but there is absolutely no mention when they ring you up. its this big explanation of how its one year free replacement and 2 years extended warranty and blah blah blah. the lines are always long, obviously because they have some awesome deals. I bought a press here and it was missing one of the legs as well as some hardware... Had to go back and they had to pull it out of another box. quality is mediocre at best, but on sockets and hand tools its a lifetime no questions asked swap. which is freaking awesome. I break stuff constantly and have never had an issue. even sears gives you grief about warranties. the store is kept clean. the staff, however, is completely oblivious to people with questions. if you need something, like I did today, you have to go hunting for someone. I ended up standing in line to ask for help because they saw me, and heard me but wouldn't acknowledge me. whatever, I get it. you make minimum wage and don't care. I probably wouldn't either. all in all its worth the rare hassle you may have. good tip is to sign up for the mailer. you can get free stuff if you play your coupons right. well done harbor freight, well done. read more

So today I came into this location to do some Christmas shopping with my father. We had found all we were looking for and upon waiting for check out we were switched to an opening cashier. Her name was Andrea or atleast that's what my receipt states. The sole reason for the one star is the customer service. My father and I were rushed through even though it wasn't busy at all. Andrea began checking us out quickly without a hello or anything, it made us feel very unwelcome for coming in and spending are hard earned money at their establishment, after she got through our things she states our total. At the time, I had spaced asking to have my member number put in. I had a few items that had good discounts for members, which was the only reason I would buy them. As it stands I paid full price on these items because I was being rushed through an empty line and wasn't able to get my member advantages. Needless to say I am not going to recommend anyone I know or care about to this location. read more

I've always been a fan of Harbor freight but today was the last time I visit this location. The manager on duty this morning is a complete child. I heard him yelling at his employees, yelling at an old man and then disrespected me in front of other customers. I have served in the military for 15 years now and I've never seen a place allow such an immature individual to serve as a manager of their establishment. Go to a different Harbor freight they won't let you down. read more

Went over after having a bad experience at Rocklin automotive. Was greeted and treated very nice. The customer service was excellent. The experience was great. I was thinking how much a quality experience makes a difference in returning and spreading the word. I would give this store a 10 on hands on personal attention. A great attitude and an experience worth passing on. This store went the extra mile and made me feel like returning. read more
