Finished Sicilian pasta sauce
Simon B.

Harbor Greens is my go-to store in Gig Harbor when it comes to making fresh pasta sauce and getting the right ingredients that I use to make my Sicilian style of spaghetti sauce -- with tomato paste, spaghetti sauce, Sun-dried tomatoes, and olives ... The veggie section has some really good produce, and very reasonably priced. They have a yummy selection of a few good soups and a nice eating area at the back of the store.

Beautiful store tucked away in a hard to find plaza. Superior beer and wine collection, and a little bit of everything else. Produce is beautiful and stacked nicely. Prepared foods , cheese, and meats, fish, chicken look grand. Locally owned I hear. Premium prices. Excellent customer service.

I LOVE Harbor Greens and make a point to visit either this location or the one in Tacoma, every time I'm in town. Not only do they have great products, they have the best produce. And the service is excellent! These are some pictures of items I found during my visit in May 2023.

While visiting a friend in WA we stopped by this store to pick up things for dinner. I love fancy grocery stores and this spot fills the bill. The outside is gorgeous and looks like a nursery with all the beautiful flowers. Not sure if I took pictures of them, but I had to mention it because it was so beautiful. The meat department had excellent choices of meat to choose from and a wide array of sandwiches were available. The produce section was impressive in the way it was displayed and organized. There is a what also appears to be a nice wine selection too. I, of course, headed towards the beer. The selection was impressively large with many craft beers that were new to me. On the way to the cashier was a plethora of candy and carmels to choose from. I look forward to visiting this specialty grocery store again next time I visit. Cheers and happy eating!

This market is beautiful, plush garden goods being constantly watered or cared for by a very present and available staff. Inside it's an ocd dream. All labels facing forward, a deli full of foods arranged and kept appetizing. local pics and a nod too the staff favorites at times! Amazing'

More attention to produce. Many of the microgreens are neglected as are the watercress. Limp and dried out.

I was shopping at this Safeway in Gig Harbor while my husband was standing with some strangers at…read morethe Pokemon vending machine, hoping that maybe the machine would be getting stocked since there was a line. The manager came up to him and asked him why they were standing at the machine quietly and he said that the port orchard location just had a restock and they seemed to think that the Safeway was next. The manager scott then called him a stalker and said you know what stalking is right. Apparently the manager allows their employees to clock out and scalp the Pokemon machine when it gets filled and then clock back in & also be completely unprofessional and rude to customers. Very unprofessional & I will not be shopping there ever again. Corporate will also be notified.

When she checked out, her bill was $180 and she realized when she got home that they had overcharged her $44 for the roast. When she went back to the store and spoke with Kevin and Susie, Kevin said he was only giving her $18 back because she'd already got $30 off of her groceries. The problem with that was the discount on the groceries was for buying other sale items not the roast! As Kevin cheated her out of the sale price for the roast, she told him she would never shop at the store again and he said "That's fine!" Kevin should know that good customer service is huge and he behaved very badly. My friend has told everyone she knows about this horrible experience at this Safeway. The small act of cheating by Kevin has cost Safeway a lot of business. I will certainly never shop there!

The store is vibrant and inviting. Before you even enter, you are welcomed by a color array of flowers and fruits. It makes me happy. Kind of like walking into Trader Joe's! Have you seen the WF hot bar? So sad compared to this one. I've had the poke bowls, pork sandwich, Okonomiyaki and of course the ooey gooey Cookie. You've got to try it for yourself. It wasn't too busy midday on a Monday to go browsing around inside. The parking lot was easy to enter and exit without any issues. It's a bit small, but it's doable. Stopped by the cafe inside the market and ordered an Iced Lavender Matcha and the famous chocolate chip cookie 'The Cookie'. The Iced Lavender Matcha was good. However, it was VERY SWEET. You could definitely taste the lavender syrup that they used in the drink. The lavender flavor overpowered whatever amount of matcha was in the drink. The Cookie was great! Love eating them warm!

I was lucky enough to have Teanna work with me. She's also worked with my wife and she is superb. She knows her stuff and you can absolutely trust her suggestions and advice. She's a reason why we only buy our prescription eyeglasses at Costco. She helped me pick out two sets of frames and even did a 'tune-up' on the pair of glasses I'm wearing until the new ones arrive. Teanna reminded me that we can always bring our glasses in for tune-ups like replacing worn nose pads and readjusting the frames fit on the ears and nose. This is the type of added value Costco provides for all prescription eyeglass purchases.

But not just that we are fairly new to Costco and we kind of need to adjust accordingly to this kind of bulk shopping and zero in on things we need bulk of and not focus on this kind of a store like Fred Meyer is. Although I acknowledge larger families could probably use it as an equivalent. We were told the Gig Harbor location was less chaotic and while it was slightly less so it's still a very fast paced place. Nothing too much different than the one in our own town however they seemed to get people through the check outs at amazing speed. I'd definitely would return should a Costco need arise and we were in the Gig Harbor area. If you aren't used to the area however I'd recommend coming in and out with GPS as it can be very confusing with what feels like a large amount of stores clustered off of one road along with it's roundabouts.
