I had ankle ligament reconstruction a year ago and my foot is now better than ever. The office was great to work with on scheduling appointments, the PA Jessica was fabulous, and the surgery was very straightforward. One thing I really liked was the detailed instructions for pre and post surgical care. This established realistic expectations for my recovery and something I could refer back to when needed. Felt pain with rain and barometric pressure drops. Had five orthopedic surgeons say "you need to get your knee replaced." Was about to agree with them, but sometimes it pays to be skeptical. Dr Hamilton and others came up with a treatment. "Knee replacement?" They were correct. Pain was caused by previous surgery done by another practice, that's no longer recommended as doctors and medical professionals have learned. After six months of PT, I was able to avoid this unnecessary surgery. Thanks to Anderson my knee is now properly aligned, and without the cost and pain either. Definitely go here!

I had an appointment with Dr. John Ferrell on September 12, 2024, at the ROSM Washington, DC office…read morebut left before seeing him because I was not seen in a timely manner and left after an inappropriate time to wait. This is the second time I have experienced this problem with ROSM including previously in July with another doctor in the practice. Both times I was taken to an examining room in a timely manner and was left to wait in the room. After over 30 minutes, I left the room and spoke to one of the staff to ask if there was a problem. Both times I was told that the doctor was with another patient and would be in to see me in a while. My first complaint, therefore, is that it is not the patient's responsibility to determine why there is a delay. The doctor should instruct his/her staff to let the patient know that there is a delay and what are the patient's alternatives. Both times the staff person apologized for which I appreciate their apologies. An apology by a staff person, however, does not indicate that there will be any change in how waiting patients are informed of delays. On September 12, 2024, the staff person told me that the doctor was in a room with no clock, which is not an excuse but demonstrates poor planning by the doctor. Therefore, my second complaint is that the ROSM Washington, DC office is poorly managed and fails to properly plan appointment times for patients. I will not be returning to this practice for any reason.

What could have been a frightening and overwhelming experience instead became something I'll always remember for the compassion and professionalism shown to me. Every single person we encountered treated me with patience, kindness, and urgency. I never once felt like "just another patient." I felt cared for. PA Patel, who stitched my hand, was extraordinary. He was meticulous and deliberate in his work, but what stood out even more was how he treated me and my wife throughout the procedure. He explained everything as he went, answered our questions without hesitation, and maintained a calm, steady presence that gave us confidence and reassurance. You could tell he takes pride in doing things the right way -- not just clinically, but humanely. And Nurse Nick brought something just as important -- warmth and humanity. She was upbeat and genuinely kind, taking the time to connect with me as a person. That kind of personal care means almost as much as the medical expertise. We walked into the ER anxious and in distress. We left feeling grateful. To the team at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington: thank you for treating me not just effectively, but compassionately. Came to the ER here very unexpectedly while in the area. I'm not from Virginia and had no idea what…read moreto expect. Cons: no live wait time on website, registration staff who truly DGAF, dirty waiting area Wait time: 2.3 hours just to get into an exam room (I was balled up in a corner in pain and begged for a blanket because it was cold inside and 50 degrees outside. They triaged me, took blood and urine and had me remain in the waiting room. Once I actually got into an exam room, things started to move more quickly. Care: Dr. Sidara was actually the saving grace here. He was incredibly nice and thorough, spoke to me with respect and care, and worked to address my issues as soon as possible. He was even able to pull info from past doctors visits, which included a slight ear infection and double checked my ears while I was there to make sure he didn't miss anything further. I won't go into all of the details of what he discovered, but had he not caught one thing in particular, I might still be in excruciating pain. What I didn't like is the fact that I was in an exam room for maybe 30 minutes, then they took me to get a CT. And once I finished the CT, I was not taken back to the exam room, but taken to the "results waiting" room. There, my IV hung in front of me, without being connected, for about an hour. When all of my results were back, the doctor returned to me and told me all the findings and the plan moving forward. I do wish they would have kept me overnight so that I could continue to be monitored and receive pain management medication, but I understand that's not necessarily typical treatment for what I was experiencing. Shortly after the doctor checked in with me, my discharge papers were drafted, and I was on my way out. I was there from 3:50-9 p.m. ish.

For many reasons which I'll list…read morehere: 1) There are multiple names for this practice at this location: 1313 Dolley Madison Blvd Suite 403, McLean, VA 22101. Text messages state "Foot & Ankle Specialist of the Mid-Atlantic", Building sign is "McLean Foot and Ankle Center", and website says "Family foot & Ankle Specialist." Which makes it super confusing to find but easy to cover up when patients have a bad experience and want to leave an honest review. A little digging and I see previous bad reviews on google and the claim is that "Family Foot and Ankle closed in 2021." Well why is the website still up and I can make an online appt with Dr. Mendelsohn and other podiatrist??? At the very least, change your website if this practice has indeed been closed since 2021. They have been gaslighting other patients when they get bad reviews. That's my first red flag. 2) The X-ray machine was old and wobbly. When I went to get an xray for my foot, I had to hold it in place so it would not keep moving. 3) Nobody answers the phone at this practice to be able to ask questions or make appointments. Called about a dozen times over 2 weeks and went to voicemail every time. Had to finally schedule an appt online to pick up my orthotics and didn't have correct option for why I needed to visit. 4) Received multiple text messages and emails nagging me to a pay for a bill for orthotics that had not yet been delivered. The link to pay also did not give an itemized invoice to state what I was paying for. I am not going to pay a bill via an email or text message for things without enough details to ensure it is not a scam nor will I pay for an item that has not been delivered. Poor business practice. 5) It's also ridiculous that I have to pay a $50 Co-pay to come and pick up ordered product when Dr. Mendelsohn barely did anything to ensure fit aside from cutting it to size (which i could have done at home). He did not check to see my stance or my walking gait. He did not check for any areas of pressure or discomfort and make necessary adjustments to ensure the orthotic provides optimal support and comfort and to see if the correction was suitable. I was rushed in and out. He literally spent less than 5mins w/ me and handed me paper with info on orthodics. 6) Had to repeatedly ask for an itemized invoice and receipt to be able to use for HSA account reimbursement and was only given a printed out ledger. Then the office manager argued with me that it should work fine for HSA reimbursement. I know it won't for my HSA reimbursement b/c I've tried multiple times with other ledgers from other practices and have always been denied. Honestly, I spent more time trying to get an invoice than I did getting seen by Dr. Mendelsohn. 7) My feet still hurt and I refuse to waste my time and money going to a practice that does not answer phones, has shady business practices, and the Dr. rushes you in and out. Bottom line: WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES, INSUFFICIENT MEDICAL CARE, I DO NOT TRUST A THING THEY SAY.

Then they charged me $50 for being a "no show" at my original appointment day. I told them I had changed the appointment day and I refused to pay the "no show" fine. I wrote a letter to the doctor explaining why I would not pay the fine. But I still am getting monthly bills for $50 from this practice. When I went for another appointment, the checkin clerk told me I owe $50. Dr. Mendelsohn is a competent doctor. But it appears that this practice has been bought by a hedge fund and is interested only in fees.
