Dr. Curll diagnosed the cat as being "constipated" and gave the cat an enema. The cat was then released back to my mother with a prescription for an appetite stimulant. The cat died five days later. My mother was devastated and wanted to understand how her cat died, so she asked me to help her find out. I requested and received the blood work and procedural notes from Oak Bay Animal Hospital and to me it appears that the cat was not given proper care. As a physician, I did not understand why Dr Curll had not done an X-Ray or ultrasound to determine an underlying cause for the cat's "constipation." I could see immediately from the blood report that the cat had an infection, and the cat had a very high amylase level. These test results would indicate pancreatitis, and it's serious. Dr. Curll, however did not do any follow-up tests. She did not do an X-Ray or ultrasound. She did not prescribe any antibiotics. I believe this is simply negligence, or laziness, or both, and that it resulted in the unnecessary death of my mother's cat. After speaking with my mother about her experience with this veterinarian, I noted a number of red flags that indicated to me this is not a good place to take a pet. I have also recommended that my mother find another veterinarian. Unfortunately, we found out too late.

After looking around at the…read morevarious options in the area we were referred to Dog Townsend by a woman who runs one of the pet food stores. The couple who owns and operates this place is from New York and they have a real love for dogs and a special understanding of how to create a safe, fun and harmonious environment for groups of dogs. In essence it's like a dog park but with a large staff making sure every one plays nice and has a good time. We have left our boys there twice now, the first time for a few days and the second for 16. Both times they have come home tired and happy and pretty stress free. The second time we took them they couldn't wait to get out of the car and go play - it was clear that they have good associations with Dog Townsend and that's what I like to see when I am entrusting them to someone else. In addition to structured play times they offer special little services, like massages and dedicated fetch sessions and nature walks. They'll also clean Fido up if you order the shampoo service. This is helpful! I also love the little daily reports that they fill out so you get a sense of what your little guys have been up to. The staff is across the board nice, warm and truly interested in the dogs. Nice feeling there. Beautiful flock of exotic chickens running around, too. My dogs love watching them. Place is very clean and the play space is a large covered outdoor area that they separate into different playgrounds. They group dogs according to "play tastes". Smaller dogs can be grouped together and over time they figure out who plays well with whom. It's a healthy and fun environment for all the dogs. And the place is just really beautiful. Really a great option for people who love their dogs.

It's quite awesome to see a large group of dogs and no one is barking. They also have a separate area for little dogs and they love to pet and cuddle your dog ( the cuddly ones).

Recently, my littlest cat was acting very weird and stopped eating over a period of a few days. I thought it might be because of the heat wave we were having at the time, but when she got increasingly lethargic and started hiding, I got worried and called Chuckanut Valley. They got us right in! After quite a bit of poking and prodding, not to mention a full panel of tests, it was determined that my cat was likely just hot. It was a pretty expensive diagnosis, but I was relieved it wasn't something worse. The doctors and staff here are always so loving and kind. And while their prices are definitely premium (aren't all vets?) I do appreciate they have prescription meds on hand when I need them for my pets, and offer discounts if you offer full diagnostic panels. I am so happy to have found them!

I got my blue fawn from here not realizing that blue fawn is not a recognized color by AKC and only learned that the genetic mutation that causes the blue undertone in a fawn also puts the dog at risk for alopecia. And of course, mine has developed alopecia which is extremely difficult to manage since it is incurable but also more importantly is how insufferable it is for my dog to live with. I would never recommend Tanya. And I would strongly recommend only purchasing a Frenchie from a breeder who doesn't perform genetic mutation and produce exotics like blues, lilac, fluffy, etc. Breeders who produce only recognized colors will have healthier dogs.

It doesnt matter how many baths, medications, or vet visits we do for him. It never gets better. We've gotten the run around from this lady when all we looked for was guidance. My children help calm and relax him because when you watch him you can truly see how miserable he is. In my opinion Tanya you are a joke and what is wrong with breeders. We will continue to spend every day and every dollar trying to get this sweet baby the piece he deserves.

This woman handed us back a damaged and hurt dog without saying anything. Immediately we return to try and address this and at least get some bandages. Understanding that accidents happen but frustrated that this info was not disclosed as it should've been. There was not more than 5 minutes between us leaving and returning. We called the business and nobody answered. When we returned no one was there and nobody answered the phone, middle of the day. The dog is still bleeding actively. It's obvious that this woman couldn't have been oblivious to this fact. There was simply too much blood. We wait around the place for fifteen minutes. Occasionally knocking or calling the business to no avail. They gave us a damaged dog, that they hurt, and then promptly ignored us! We will never come back here again. They hurt our dog then took our money. On top of that, they really didn't do a good job grooming at all. My dog is hurt and I am lied to and taken advantage of. Take care of your dog and stay away from this place.
