What a pleasant surprise!!! On a quick drive to Belfast Maine we picked this place..it goes by two names Front Street Pub and Harborwalk Resturant. Husband ordered steak tips that were perfect and so tasty he actually said best he has ever had! I had the lobster roll for 19.99, it was tender and yummy maybe a bit on the smaller side for whay I am used to in Maine this summer but plenty filling! Onion rings for app were so good. THis place never disappoints. Very busy last night, and our food was great. The blacked haddock was done to perfection. All around unpleasant experience. Hostess (granted extremely young) seemed absolutely clueless and handed us a poster sized flyer that listed some draft beers and advised us that they were "running a special on beer and some Ice Pick vodka drinks" but doesn't know what any of them are. At least fifteen minutes passed before a waitress even acknowledged we were there. Kids menu didn't have Mac n cheese, yet it was on the adult menu at $10.99. At least another 10 minutes pass before the waitress returns to inform us they're out of macaroni, but can do it with linguine...ick, but daughter agreed to it. 35 minutes pass before dinner finally arrives and all fried food is way over cooked...extremely crispy scallops. The atmosphere in this restaurant is fun and the food is worth the price. The World Cup was playing while I was there so the bar area was crowded which led to a long wait for service. 2+ hours for lunch due to a backup in the kitchen on orders led to a lot of waiting but the food was delicious once we received it. The fish and chips was fresh and portion sizes large. Kids and adult menus both offered non-seafood options. The service was friendly and helpful. We dropped in while wandering around Belfast. Yelp steered us in and away from another more prominent/easily seen/found family place.. I searched for steamed clams and in we went. My bad for not checking the menu first, they don't serve steamers. The waitress seemed off her game abit from this and misunderstood our order; we discussed the muscles then opted for the oysters. While in Belfast my wife and i were scanning through Yelp to figure our where to eat. We came across the Harborwalk. When checking the menu one item stood out and got me; hook, line, sinker, pole, boat everything: Fried Fiddleheads!!! Not only are the fried, they're pickled in house as well. This was one culinary crusade I did not regret. The building itself was a quaint cozy place with a decent amount of seating( only wish the place had AC). The hostess and server were very friendly, food delivery was expedient. Other then the incredible fiddleheads we shared a seafood platter( haddock scallops and clam strips) all were very good. The haddock portion was fit for 3-4 people, not over breaded nor over cooked. The scallops were some of the best and biggest I've ever had. Clam strips! What more needs to be said. I've gone here a few times since they opened. I've been at all three meal times and can't speak more highly of this place. I have yet to order something that doesn't taste amazing! It's hard for me to even pick a favorite dish... If I had to complain about something, I'd say I wished that they had all the things on their menu, all the time, but if they are running out of certain things that just means that they are getting a good amount of business. And regardless they always come up with a way to make the dish, with an equally tasty alternative...so this is barely a complaint. The real treat to me is that they work hard on every aspect, from the amazing sauce for the oysters to the perfect biscuits and gravy, this place can't fail with their menu! Eat here, and eat here often is my family's motto these days. I just hope that people find it in its tucked away location, I want this place to be in business for a long time! read more

I usually love their food and ordered the Crab cake plate. Their crab cakes in the past were really good; but, not now. They look more like pancakes very flat, a bit oily and really burnt on one side. I asked for new one and that came backed burnt also. I would not recommend getting them. They are not crab cakes. New restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an off-the-main drag location. Patio dining as well. Nice selection on the breakfast menu featuring Maine meats and seafood. Went to Harborwalk for an early dinner with a friend, when we entered the restaurant we waited to be seated and noticed there wasn't a soul to be found in Harborwalk. When the server came he politely asked us to wait and he walked out into the conjoined restaurant and bar, Front Street Pub (FSP) and he returned and took us out to FSP to be seated for dinner. There were several people there, but no one else for dinner (we were early), all for cocktails and beer. Note: I had heard that the FSP had a good menu, so I stopped and picked one up a couple of weeks ago, and it looked very good, enough for me to suggest it to my friend as a place to try out (I am a die-hard devotee of Darby's for 20+ years). Tonight, the server and the other staff we encountered were very welcoming and courteous. Unfortunately, that was the limit to any chance for a positive dining experience. I ordered one of my favorites, a crab cake, and an order of fries, crispy. Since I chose the single crab cake from the app menu and didn't go for the crab cake dinner, I may have pissed off the cook. My friend ordered the fried fish dinner. Let's cut to the chase, my crab cake arrived obviously over cooked, with black charring on both sides. I always like to give the benefit of the doubt in most every situation, so I ate about a quarter of the crab cake and it was over cooked to the point of being an orange, pasty disc whose contents did not resemble anything I would recognize as being related to anything under the category of "crab" in any form. Being a native Mainer with extensive experience in eating and enjoying crab in all its edible forms, I was encountering a plate of a matter both foreign and unfamiliar. When the server returned to our table for our check-in, I politely pointed out the burnt crab cake and requested that he return the crab cake to the kitchen and report that I found to be inedible, due to its having been wicked over cooked. The server asked me if I wanted to order any dessert (wtf??), and I politely (ever polite to a blameless server) declined. BTW, my friend found her fish dinner to be "OK. I wouldn't order it again", but edible. I guess I expected/hoped to hear an apology from the kitchen for my obviously inedible crab cake and that I either would not be charged for the dish or be offered an alternative option, gratis. Sadly, neither happened, and I paid the $6.99 for the crab cake, as I would find it a waste of time to argue with a kitchen that won't take ownership for producing something that would embarrass any hard-working cook/chef worth their mettle. Rather than fight, I am writing this restaurant review - my very first, by the way. I was disappointed with my experience with the Harborwalk/Front Street Pub, because their menu really looked good. But my crab cake was not, and the kitchen's silence made it all the more disappointing. If you're looking for great food and a professional kitchen, with a top-notch staff of servers, you won't find it at FSP. Go to Darby's. I Darby's. Darby's is the best. Eat at Darby's. We came here after discovering our first choice was closed. The Front Street Brewery, where we entered, was attached to Harborwalk. I split a goat cheese spinach salad with my husband, which was served with fresh ingredients (try the strawberry balsamic vinaigrette). Since it was raining, I went with the fish'n chips, while my husband had the fish tacos. The haddock was perfectly cooked, while the fries could have been a little crispier, but were nonetheless flavorful thanks to salt and freshly minced parsley. The fish tacos were "tasty, yet Blaine," with mango chutney and picante sauce. While our server was a bit of a ditz, we had an enjoyable dinner. There are a number of local/Maine beers on tap; we chose the Belfast Stone Crab IPA. read more

Waited 30 minutes for breakfast with not a single update from our server. The French Toast was dry. The Harborside Huevos were so strange - over cooked eggs, black beans, cheddar cheese in a tortilla with what tasted like a strong tomato pizza sauce loaded with oregano. Truly terrible. And the eggs Benedict was served not with Canadian bacon but with a thick slice of what they said was pork. My husband said it tasted like steak and the Hollandaise was watery. We will not come back. Went with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, we had a blueberry lemon cocktail which was very good. Ordered a Cheese plate which was good, it took a little while to come out but I loved the cheeses. I would have liked a little info on what was include and their suggest of combos. We also had the hot spinach artichoke dip which was AWESOME! BIG HIT! We also had sandwiches -I had the salmon cream cheese dill panini and fries -the fries were the big hit on this dish. My friend had the tuna melt which she enjoyed. We were there for about 3 hrs catching up and they were cool with us having cocktails and just relaxing. The fried fiddle heads were good, crispy and tangy as they're pickled then fried. The haddock tacos (2) were small and overpowered by the mango chutney and the flour tortillas were not cooked so they split upon folding. The combo haddock and whole class was good but again a bit "light" for the price. The tartar sauce was light and tangy. The clam chowder was like soup and very bland with very few clams for $9 and the sandwich was good but the fries tasted like they were soaked in oil and there was only a palm sized portion of them. Wonderful experience here on a Saturday night. Personable, engaging staff included one of the owners and a manager. Our party of seven sat outside on one of the picnic tables and enjoyed a variety of menu items including the mussels, spinach dip, and several fish dinners--- portions were generous and tasty. The fish and chips had a great batter and was really enough to share. So happy to find another dining option in Belfast-- and, for only being opened 6 weeks or so, Harborwalk is sure to attract a good repeat business. We sat outside and the waitstaff was very kind. We had asked to be in and out due to having to catch a flight. It was nice to try a new place. A little pricier than others in Belfast. We were in Belfast and it was a rainy cold day. We had to wait for our table but the food was really tasty. I had an excellent vegetarian sandwich, my son had some sort of grilled cheese with avocado, everyone at the table had differnt soups, my daughter had fried shrimp.
