This review is about customer service nothing to do with the product or skill of the contractor. Similar to the other reviews you will see on here. Matt and his team will no call no show. Know what you are signing up for, their prices can be a little better but the customer service is lacking. After talking with Matt regarding a bathroom remodel, he never came out to see the space before quoting. Then I was quoted one price originally then a higher price a couple days after he read into my request more. Never received a formal written estimate as requested. When we set a date to start, I never heard from him again. I checked in several times to confirm with no reply. Save yourself from the customer service headache. read more

A couple of the others did not want to take on the project, but Mike saw my vision. 5 stars for Hardey Tile but that counts as a collaborative effort between myself and Mike Hardey. Everything went as planned because of our communication. Please read on how to make your experience the best like I had. 1. Pros this good are busy. All of them are. I texted once to check in, get updates and didn't wait for him to contact me because he is running a big operation with many workers under him. He always texted back after 1 text. But do your work and stay on top of your project. 2. I listened and asked his advice. He gave it and I deferred to his expertise. I trust him with my home and that says a lot. 3. Be flexible with your time. Mike and his workers work very very hard and it helps to give them wiggle room. I never needed to augment my day but I planned for it just in case. Mike and his team are clean in every way. It is emotionally difficult to hear the demolition of your home so I was on edge but the workers guided me and kept me informed. At the end of each day, the room was spotless until the next day. I love this process as it made me feel taken care of as well as my property. After assessing the job the past 2 weeks and testing out his final work, everything is literally perfect. Mike has a good eye for design and he's a real pro. I have hardwood floors in my kitchen and saw this trend for a tile rug. Albeit my countertops are busy looking so I opted for a neutral rug. I am very happy with the work Mike Hardey and his team did. They had a "guy" for each step of the project. My wood was glued down and it was about 1/2 inch thick with wood. I bought tile at 6mm and with the thin set it settled in nicely. Mike came over and supervised the demo and helped with carefully cutting the wood to make the inlay. Not one piece chipped, burnt or got damaged! Unbelievable! I had only two pieces of wood so I was totally biting my nails! Scraping the wood from the concrete was the hardest job. The crew did great and left it nicely scraped for the tile guy. They also pulled out the quarter round trim. This was day 1. The tile guy, Israel, came on day 2. He laid the tile with thin set and it was very clean. The tile guy recommended caulking for the same color as the grout. Mike stopped by checked his work and quickly did a HD run for the caulk. Day 3, a special grout crew came. There was a crew for each step. Meanwhile, Mike would stop by each day to double check the whole process. He is super detailed oriented. Which was needed immensely for this type of project. Day 3, the grout was installed. Quarter round put back in and painted. Final project a flushed install with no ugly schlutter or borders. Very clean straight lines. Awesome work!! We bought our home almost 8 years ago from the original owner. Needless to say, the house needed a lot of updating! Mike did some of the initial work for us before we moved in and we were very happy with the end result. Last summer, we decided it was time to update our 3 bathrooms. I work from home, so the timeline was critical. Others quoted several months where Mike came in at 6-9 weeks. There is no such thing as a stress free, problem free construction project. However, Mike was very attentive and responsive to our concerns and feedback. The project was very organized from the payment schedule to each phase of the project. The team showed up early and stayed late almost every day (which was noticed by our neighbors). Our beautiful bathrooms were completed in 7 weeks! Normally I use the same guys I always use. However, they were booked for the month. So I looked on yelp. Found this guy. Started off great, "Yeah I can start the job next week, and have it done by Thursday." Planned the plumber and tub resurface guy around his time line. Two weeks later he started the job. I was then sent a text that the job was done. Nope! Not done, and not only that, they destroyed the walls, cabinets and carpet. The tile in the kitchen was uneven, and the bathroom valves were cemented in. This guy should not be used! Find someone else! read more

I kick myself for not following my gut and the 1 star reviews, but due to many contractors being too busy, I decided against my better judgement to reach out to Hardey Tile. Let me start out by saying it took three different phone calls to get Mike (the owner) on the phone. Then he said he would call me back, and did not. I still pursued his work and called him back about two days later. Needless to say, it seems the job my wife and I needed was possibly too small or not worth it to him, but he lead me on for over a week and then just disappeared. I felt very disheartened and did a little looking into his 5 Star reviews and found that a lot of them are from him own family and friends, which would make sense. Including a recent one from "Priscilla M" who seems to be his own wife. Save your time and go with someone else. read more

Mike is a total flake. I had originally reached out to him to come out and give a bid to remodel a shower. It wasn't a huge job, but we were having drainage issues from a poor job from the previous tile guy. Initially, Mike was very responsive. He sent a message stating that no job is too small. Quote: "Thanks for your message and inquiry about having your tile shower remodeled. We do jobs of all sizes so no worries at all." He then asked for some photos and measurement which were promptly sent to him via email. Then, crickets. A few days later I messaged him. No response. A few days later I called him and left a message. No response. So in the end, very unprofessional customer service and communication. I would have had much more respect for him if he had simply said he was too busy or not interested in the job. read more

This is LONG, but please read all of it! Mike Hardey is THE BEST! We had a Master Bath remodel that needed total reconfiguration almost double in size from what we had. The Bathroom tile was 40 years old. Mike was referred to us and as soon as I called for an appointment he was there the next day. He spent a lot of time with me, as much as I needed to talk through what we wanted to do. Before his crew began and once demo had taken place we totally changed where we wanted the shower and he was totally fine that we had changed our mind. And I'm talking, a completely different wall and a different configuration. He made me feel included, NOT stupid and very much the decision maker in what I truly wanted in this Master bathroom. He was patient, so easy to talk to and such a gentleman and professional businessman. And his STAFF! They were so nice, always would stop to answer my questions and made sure I was satisfied with HOW they were laying out the tiles. They had a very small no window, no air-conditioned space to work in most of the time and they still worked diligently, fast and meticulous. Before we started this project, we had looked along time at internet pictures of shower tile layouts. NONE were as symmetrical, or made as much sense as how these guys decided to address the corners and Niche and the bench seat. Look carefully at the pictures I have posted. Brilliant!!! An important note: I had been asked if I wanted the design in the tiles to match up from tile to tile. I DID NOT! However, they were willing if I wanted that. Mike gave me his cell and was always available to answer my questions either in a voice call or a text. He was so responsive and professional. I will recommend him and his staff every time from now on. Such a pleasure to have all of those unfamiliar workers in my home for those several days and feel totally safe and at ease with them. Highly recommend! Mike's people were to replace our master bath walk-in-shower floor which was leaking into the garage below. Mike was very easy to talk to, he understood the situation, and was able to provide an estimate based on sending some pics. Additionally, he was able to determine how much wall & floor tiles were needed from the same pics. Angel & David (sp?) arrived at the expected time. They did a great job of covering floors and little tricks to minimize dust from old demo and cutting new tiles. They kept us informed of the days events, what they learned and where we were in the schedule. I was impressed with how neat they were, putting everything away at the end of each visit. Angel is a "master" of tile, with 18 years of experience. Both guys gave their "all" during the job, and the finished result is artwork. He has done remodeling projects in my home for the past 15 years, including kitchen, bathroom and patio cover. The reviews are true. I try not to believe them and give people a chance but this company will email you back and than not show. Mike stated He would be there at 9am today. He knew I was arranging to drive from out of the area when we made these plans. I responded stating that would work. Then Radio Silence! I didn't realize it was intentional for two days assuming that he would still show knowing I was driving so far. I drove all the way from my primary residence which is an hour and sent him yet another message on the way that I would be there to let him in so that he knew I was coming. Not only did he not respond, he didn't show or even call me to tell me he wasn't coming. Every one should read the multiple reviews that state this is his nature. Don't be like me and give him the benefit of the doubt. The reviews that state a simple call to say your not interested or busy would have been acceptable. The Hardey Tile team responded to my Yelp message within a weeks time, but after the walkthrough there was no response - not professional to deal with and do not recommend. We set up an appointment for a walkthrough with Mike. There was an issue with scheduling and him having to pick up his daughter, so he was late for our walkthrough. We did an extremely thorough walkthrough where Mike took measurements and we sat down and discussed my needs - we're an aerospace company and we had asked him to completely retile the walls of our four restrooms. He suggested different types of tile and said that we'd have different meetings with tile vendors to discuss types and prices and deadlines. That was almost 2 months ago and since then there has been no follow up. I've reached out to both Mike and his office and nobody has returned my calls or emails, even after he had me adjust the measurements i took manually and send to his office. Initially very responsive but after that nothing. Super unprofessional - would have been nice for him to say he wasn't interested instead of blowing us off completely. read more
