We finally got to use My Flooring Guy for a project! After talking about it for almost a decade, we convinced my elderly in-laws to update their entire main level flooring with vinyl planks. From the quote to the end, Rafi was so communicative and straightforward, and he even visited the house several times to revise the quote. Because we had to move the in-laws out of their house (mobility challenges), I asked him for a "worst case scenario" time frame, and the installers beat it by almost half! I had my floor done 2 years ago. During the process they were flexible with me because we were remodeling our home. We spent about 30K on the flooring after they up-charged us on concrete to level the floors because if we didn't then the warranty would not be in place. Within a year the flooring by my pantry started to come apart. We ignored it but after a while we found more flooring has come apart going into the living room and hallway. I finally called My Flooring Guy for help. They told me the warranty on their work only lasted a year. The 30 year warranty was by the manufacturer. However they would have someone call me to see if it was covered. No one called. I called again. This time they gave me an email address to send pictures of the problem. I did so but again no answer. These floors were supposed to last but apparently they don't and this company doesn't stand by their work. Do not go with this company or you will regret it. They were the only reponse I had over a mom and pop's shop that didnt reply. Rafi was professional to arrive well prepared with samples. The quote was competitive based on my construction background. They ripped up, removed and disposed the old flooring, installed new plywood underlay, flooring and molding At first I was hesitant about the tall molding Rafi suggested but in the end it made sense and looks great! The old flooring had hidden water damage so it was decided to go with the following product: "Stone plastic composite flooring, sometimes called stone polymer composite flooring, is made with the same vinyl base as luxury vinyl tile. But SPC flooring has limestone added to the vinyl, providing it with a rigid core. It is both thicker and tougher than luxury vinyl tile, making it ideal for high-traffic areas". read more

First impression meeting with Rafi was good. Unfortunately it just went downhill from there. The first team who did our floor and stairs seemed to be professional as well. We did feel 12 bags of self leveling concrete was excessive when it looked like it was only used on a few corners of the room in a job less than 900 sq feet. Unfortunately one of the stair nosing broke within a couple weeks of install. Rafi was responsive in redoing the stairs stating it was a manufacturing defect and that the new version is stronger. Unfortunately the second team quality of work was very poor. They left holes in our walls that were patched poorly with plaster. Worst of all the stairs were apparently nailed to the subfloor and after a few weeks they started to rise leaving little holes and nails protruding from the floor. A few of the stair noses are loose as well. At this point, Rafi became unresponsive to have the flooring fixed. We ended up getting some of our money back through our credit card after months went by but the majority of the payment was by check. Basically we will need to replace the stairs again on our own dime. Buyer beware! Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the installer ghosts you. read more

We moved into our house, built in 1914, with extremely uneven, vinyl flooring (felt like a rollercoaster inside) that needed to be ripped out, heavily leveled with self leveling concrete and then new engineered wood installed. They were tasked with what felt like an impossible ask but were able to turn our vision into a reality. They meticulously worked with us to level the floors to the max and make our house feel normal again. I wish pictures could give the amount of leveling work they did justice, but everything was executed perfectly. The engineered hardwood flooring installation was also done perfectly as well. Having dealt with quite a few contractors, Rafi was the absolute most communicative of all. He always responded to me same day and usually called me back within minutes of pinging him. I had old original hard wood floors in my house and after a year of living in it, wanted to see what options there were to make it look better. Saw My Flooring Guy as an option for at least a free consultation- which I highly appreciated! We inquired through Yelp and they even gave us a call back (many other places we did the same and got no follow up, huge kudos for giving us a CALL and not a message follow up!) Amit came by and helped us understand that we could have our original hard wood flooring sanded and re-finished with a stain to make it look new. Despite that a laminate would cost less, I appreciated him letting us know that it would be much better to keep our original hard wood instead of installing something fake. I had the measurements of our bedrooms already ready and he gave us a quick estimate. He explained the process and how long it would take. I was told by a friend that we really could have gotten a cheaper contractor to do it for us since it was just re-finishing, but we decided to stay with Amit because of his honesty in the consultation. We also weren't sure if there would be hidden fees for other contractors to do the same. As promised on Monday morning, Amit's team came in and got to work on sanding all 3 bedrooms, and then at the end of their afternoon let us choose our stain color, we went with a medium gray despite that we did have some water damage, we went with this color because the water damage making a lighter color off wasn't drastic under the sanding. The guys were done by Tuesday afternoon with the stain and finish, and said the next day Wednesday we could walk on it. We gave it a little more time but overall, we were very satisfied with the finished results! Highly recommend these guys to hire for flooring! Today is Thursday the flooring is completed as promised, and just as I was about to write a Yelp review, I came across another one on here about Amit's team and it noted communication at the end for the last payment. I recognized immediately I was technically in the same boat of having one last check for them. I waited to write this review because I just don't believe in such negativity but I just couldn't let this go! We contracted with My Flooring Guy to have our engineered wooden floor refinished. They came and surveyed the wood floor, looked at the thickness of the new spare strips of wood and said that they can machine sand and re-stain for $5,122 . We agreed to pay half and then the rest after the job was done. Since they said it was going to take 4-5 days, we went ahead and booked a hotel for the family and pet ($683) for the days we had to be out of the house. When the day came for them to do the work, they brought in 3 other guys who looked at the floor, started to match the stain by sanding and staining parts of the floor and the spare wood strips. Then they told us that they couldn't machine sand it as previously promised but had to do it by hand. They called the owner and after an hour of going back and forth, he called to say that the price is now more than double the quoted price. THIS IS THE DAY THE JOB WAS SUPPOSED TO START!! What type of business does that!? I cancelled the project and got my deposit back but I was out of pocket on the lodging, time & effort moving furniture and now parts of the floor where they experimented was still sanded and stained! I picked this company because of the Yelp reviews but now I question the integrity of these so called "reviews". When I talked with one of the 3 workers they brought, he told me that they are just 3rd party contractors and they are not employees this company. So, I believe these are just middlemen or brokers that contract out the work which explained a lot. My advice: TALK TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO DO THE JOB!! read more

We contacted My Flooring guy to demo and replace our flooring and baseboards. We went to their showroom to pick out flooring and baseboards, they seemed like a professional and reputable company. Their team of workers started and finished the demo in under a week. Upon ripping out our old flooring, we were told that we needed to level the entire floor, which cost us an extra $3,000. The quality of work done was not that of a creditable company. The baseboards were botched in many areas, which they had to come attempt to fix 3 times. The floors were also not level, which we found in many places throughout. The worst part was when we found a big dent in our family room large TV. room's In addition to this, there are dents in our walls and our kitchen cabinets from clumsy work, making thousands of dollars worth of damage. We contacted Rafi, the owner of My Flooring guy to make him aware of the damages. He did not want to take ownership of the damage, but we had been out of state when the work was being done and My Flooring guys workers were the only ones in our home during that time. I went back and forth with Rafi to have the damages repaired or compensated. He gave us $100 for the damage to the TV, a $600 tv. He dismissed the damages to our walls and cabinets and said they can come to rip out the floors to relevel them. I wish I could give My flooring guy 5 stars but their work was far from that of a reputable company. The fact that the owner did not want to take ownership or compensate fully for all the damages really makes this company less than 1 star. read more

I am looking to start a vinyl flooring project and set up some estimates through yelp. Guy was very promptly in setting up the in home estimate. On the day of, I was running late and my husband held down the fort while Brian was presenting the products and measuring. I caught him on the later end of the visit but he still took the time to allow me to check out the sample, compare colors and let me know what he felt was appropriate for the job I was looking to complete. He not only educated us on why they don't use LVP and why SPC is more reliable. He explained things in an easy to understand way and never gave me the feeling he was rushed at all. Him and the office manager Marissa had very good coordination and communication during the visit. He was able to have her send him projects that had been completed with the two products we liked to get a better idea of the overall look. The price crunching part was nerve racking and he made sure we were sitting when he gave us the total. The price was definitely on the high end but I let him know I wouldn't be able to do a fair comparison since I had never considered SPC material before. It belongs in its own category. I was very appreciative of the insight, education and presentation. He informed me Marissa would email me the estimate within 30mins. Marissa sent the email and followed up with a courtesy call to ensure I received it. Their customer service is beyond phenomenal. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has the budget to work with them. I reached out to Rafi and he was quick to respond and easy to work with. They found a great match to my existing floor and were able to schedule me quickly. Overall, the installers were pleasant, but not great with instructions. Multiple times we asked them to keep the door to outside closed to keep the air in and bugs out. They consistently left the doors open. There were three stairs that had issues with the install, but they were quick to fix the work when asked. My critique would be that the Forman of the job should walk the install with the client upon completion, rather than assuming the client should just reach out with any issues. A young man who stated that his name was Amit showed up to my house without a mask. Before he walked inside my house, I asked him to put on a mask. He stated that he already had his three COVID-19 shots for coronavirus and he was ok. My silent reaction was "not a good start", but I reiterated to him that he needed to wear a mask and cover both his nose and mouth!!! He complied with my request. I allowed him to come inside my house. I proceeded to show him the three bedrooms and two bathrooms that need new flooring. He had only taken a few steps inside my house when I realized that he had already lowered his mask and uncovered his nose. I was annoyed. I could not ask him any questions because he would preface his response with: "you need to understand ...", or alternatively, he would end his statement with: "Do you understand what I'm saying?" I was extremely irritated by his sexist behavior. His chauvinism came right through. His mannerism and arrogance were disturbing to put it lightly. Perhaps this young man does not know how to deal with educated women. I was absolutely disgusted by his behavior. He kept pushing me to accept a floor color that he had online. And, after realizing that I wasn't going to accept his "suggestions", he went to his car and brought some samples. There was a color from the various samples that Amit brought inside my house, which works with my existing hardwood floors. But, Amit felt compelled once again to make a snarky remark: "you understand it's not going to perfectly match your floor?". I said to him: "I know it will not match perfectly; I'm trying to get it to be as close to what I have as possible." Then, when I showed him that I had already purchased the gasket for my toilets and I told him that I've been doing a lot of research, he stated: "Aren't you wonderful?" Seriously, you need to remove my toilets to do your work correctly and you're planning to leave me without a toilet installed. Of course, I need at least one functioning toilet. Ugh! No common sense. I had run out of patience by then. His condescending remarks; his sarcasm, his refusal to comply with my request after he had come to my house seeking to get my business had ruined any possibility of entering into a transaction with him (as a representative of this company). By the way, Amit represented himself as the owner of the company; when I spoke with Guy, he stated that Amit is one of the "project managers". The next day, I messaged the business; I definitely wanted to make sure the owners of this business were made aware of this experience! No customer should have to deal with this type of behavior. I must give credit to both Rafael (apologies if I have the wrong spelling) and Guy for calling me right away to get to the bottom of my feedback. Both asked me if there was anything they could do to keep me from drafting and posting this review. I assured both of them that I wasn't looking for monetary compensation of any kind. I rely on Yelp's reviews before I hire a company. I owe it to fellow Yelpers to be honest. Guy apologized and assured me that no other customer would go through awful experience. It took a few years, but I'd had enough of that disgusting carpet. Time to upgrade a bit to save my sanity! My Flooring Guy was a pleasure to work with. Rafi answered all my questions, provided a prompt estimate, and predicted the time it would take to finish the job pretty accurately, as it turns out. And now I have a beautiful Stone Polymer Composite floor. This simulates wood flooring well, and even feels pretty similar underfoot, but will hold up much better, supposedly. It's attractive and really does improve the whole vibe of a room. No, this wasn't the cheapest option available, but the quality of service and the very professional installation brought me a peace of mind which was worth it to me. I've had dealings with a few of those "cheaper" (orange store) options previously in home remodeling projects...believe me when I say you get what you pay for. A recap of my entire experience with My Flooring Guy: Guy came out in a timely manner to take measurements of our floor space and provided a quote within 24 hours. 1350 square feet of floors with 6 stairs and some concrete leveling came to about $5650. That is for installation only, which is a fair price for a licensed installer with excellent reviews. My job took 4 days to install. Raymond the installer did the whole thing by himself which was very impressive. He was always on time and cleaned up after himself. I was most impressed with how clean the flooring looked when he was done. Everything was right and seamless. The stairs looked especially phenomenal. The office staff is friendly, easy to get a hold of, and very knowledgeable. No communication barriers whatsoever. Overall, I'll give them a 5/5. I couldn't have really expected more. We had several contractors give us estimates, we went with My Flooring Guy and are very happy with their work. We had hard wood floors put in upstairs where their was old carpet and padding. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer and was concerned that the old carpet and padding would spew airborne particles in the air. This company did everything so neatly and with the smallest amount of cleanup that I have ever encountered. I did not tell them about my condition just my concern about dust. We just bought a house and needed the floors to be done before moving in. We found My Flooring Guy from Yelp and after having couple floor guys came to give us estimate for refinishing hardwood floor and install new floor in family room we like Amit, who came to give us estimate and show us floors and stain samples when other guys didn't even bring sample with them so we went with My Flooring Guy. They are nice and really accommodate to our busy schedules. Amit and his crew were great, the installer guy worked really hard but I feel like they're rushing for us so we can move in even though we're totally ok with the day they said they should be finished and ended up finishing way earlier than what they estimated. We love our refinishing oak floor and stain that we picked ( they showed us 8 stain samples on the floor for us!! It was really hard to pick lol ) and SPC foor that they recommended for us in family room since we have pets and kids. It was a great choice! Thanks to Amit for that. I just wish communication could be better from beginning to the end. It was great at the beginning but at the end no communication and some miscommunication between the crew caused us to have to reschedule our painters to come back for a touch up later. We didn't know that they're completely finished with the job or not since nobody call or text us and didn't return the house key. But we went to check on the house and found the house key that they have hiding in the front of the house. Then we got a call from them about the final payment the next morning so I guessed they're done with us. We found some places that we needed it to be fixed and Guy, the owner sent the crew to check and fixed it the next day. Really appreciated that. Overall we love our floor and think the installer did such a good job!! Just wish we get a better communication at the end and some windows and walls are a little bit dusty from them sanding the floor. Hope they pay a little bit more attention to little details on stuff like that it would be really great and probably will get 5 stars from me next time!
