It's a bar. You get what you get. The staff very all very nice. We would probably return for just drinks at the bar, most of the tables are right in the bar are and it is VERY loud. Loved the decor of the hotel restaurant and bar. It was stone and wood which complemented the original style of the old hotel. The food was good with generous portions. The temperature of the food however was not ideal. It was warm but not piping hot when I received it. Service was good. The server was friendly. This was not the best restaurant experience. I have been to the Harleysville Hotel for lunch over the years after golfing. I enjoyed my experiences. I would not say the food was great but acceptable. We had lunch today and ordered the chicken salad sandwich special. We ordered soup that was warm. Not that great. Too much mayonnaise in the chicken salad. Service was mildly slow but we were in no rush. The restaurant and bar ambiance is very nice but that lunch was not that good. Parking in the back. Take credit cards. I'm giving 5 stars so others can read this review, but this place deserves zero. On a stormy day with only a few tables occupied, my friend and I requested a corner bench table that sat six. The hostess told us it was reserved, so we took a different table. An hour later, that same table remained empty. When I confronted the hostess, she admitted it wasn't actually reserved--just being held in case a party of six showed up. Not only was this misleading, but when I pointed it out, she didn't apologize or attempt to explain until I pressed her. Even then, she was indifferent and walked away. No effort was made to be polite, accommodating, or even honest from the start. If staff blindly follow rules without understanding flexibility, the customer will always suffer at the expense of stubborn and inflexible employees. Good hospitality requires judgment and common sense--this place lacks both. The service from our server was outstanding, however. Won't be returning. read more

I don't know where to start except with the fact they hand marked all the items on their menu with * and a note written at the bottom that consuming these items puts you at risk for illness. This was absolutely the last time getting food from Harleysville Hotel. The last time we had take out, they gave our order to someone else, and it took 30 min to remake it (incorrectly.). I was craving French Onion Soup so we decided to give them one more chance. Ordered one cheeseburger platter (it was good) 36 hot wings, and an onion soup. The wings were about $9 more than the menu online said they were (" Oh, that's an old price. They haven't changed it in a while!") The onion soup was a disaster. They gave me a styrofoam cup, which I opened to find pieces of soaking wet clumps of bread dissolving into the broth. I poured it out and - splat- all the cheese was on the bottom and splashed into the bowl. It was inedible and offensive. That's it. Never again. read more

After finding out that the Harleysville Hotel was under new management we decided to give it another try. We were very disappointed in our recent visit. Immediately upon walking in the door we were met with a foul smell of dampness. We were seated in the large corner booth and the lighting over the booth went out every 10 minutes. It was very distracting as it is typically a darker establishment. My family ordered the Nachos Supreme with Chicken and a Half Bucket of Wings with the Honey Hot Sauce to split. Our order came out looking pretty good. As we started to eat, we quickly realized that looks can be deceiving!! The nacho plate was glued together with melted yellow cheese that arrived already hardened. There were multiple pieces of hard, dry chicken mixed in with the nachos. The bottom of the plate looked like they dumped the crumbled remnants of an old bag of chips to take up space. Overall, this plate had very little taste. We then proceeded to eat our chicken wings. The seasoning we ordered was Honey Hot. The seasoning we got was more like Hot meets the Salt Flats of Utah!! There was so much salt added to this sauce it was absolutely inedible. And I like salty foods. There were so many flies in this restaurant that we were constantly waiving our hands over the food! It was very frustrating! Not once did the waitress ask any of our 9 person party if they wanted refills on their drinks. Some of us had soda and some had beers/cocktails so that was a dumb mistake on the establishments part! Empty plates were left strewn about the table and we were never even asked if we wanted dessert. Finally, we asked for our check and it took 10-15 minutes for the waitress to tally it up and return. Oh, and I wanted to add that there was hardly anyone in the establishment. Our family stopped going to Harleysville Hotel in the past because it just seemed that the quality was just not there anymore. Well, I promise you this; the previous owners at there worst were doing way better than the new owners currently. Harleysville Hotel was once a family favorite for us for wings. Initially we were seated at a 4 person table but when a friend arrived to have one drink, the waitress moved us to the bigger table (we did not ask to be moved). We ordered food and drinks. We ate, drank, and talked for a while. We then ordered more drinks. Literally 7 minutes after finishing our drinks, a waitress walks to our table and says, "I hate to be that person but we have a party of 5 and this table is the only table that will fit them." (By her saying " I hate to be that person" she knew it was rude to make this statement). So we all looked at each other, got up and walked out. I feel it was rude to ask us to leave to accommodate another party. Especially after we spent $150.00. I will NOT patronize this establishment again. This place is interesting and they do have very good food and excellent wings. The service is definitely not top notch and I know why. They add their tip regardless of how many are in your party, you know how most places give themselves a tip on larger parties, the hotel, they are good to themselves and add the tip to all checks. I am kind of assuming this as we had a party of four and the top was added. During this visit the service was terrible. So where is the incentive to give great service? Their bartenders are very good and attentive but their servers in my experiences are not great. They do offer takeout and that seems to be pretty popular. No complaints about the food - everything was good. But the service was horrendous! 2 Hours to have dinner is ridiculous. 35 minutes from ordering just to get the salad and soup. Server never came back during that 35 minute wait to fill drinks, provide an update, nothing! We finally get the salad and soup, then dinner is dropped off 5 minutes later. That tells me it's a server problem, not a kitchen issue. She was what one would describe as a "busy idiot" - running in circles completely unorganized. Plus she had a habit of just dropping stuff on the table, then running away immediately before I could I could even see if I needed anything else. The pricing is all over place here - a NY Strip dinner is $22 (that's fine), but an order of Wing is $18.99!!! Wtf? I met a friend from out of town visiting here. It was the weekend of 1/17. We met at Harleysville Hotel. I ordered a Bloody Mary with shrimps on a skewer. We then both had salads. They had different Bloody Mary's. Anyway, we sat, laughed and talked for 3.5 hours. The drinks were good. The service staff wasn't bugging us to leave. We ate or maybe nibbled is the correct terminology? Anyway I know I had a fabulous time after so much Covid fatigue and our local establishments suffer worse. First off I would like to say that I've only been to this establishment twice and both times I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. My first experience: Our server started out good.. we had a bigger party and we asked in the beginning if we could get separate checks because we only had Credit Cards on us.. she stated this was fine. Towards the end of our visit the sever seemed very overwhelmed and inattentive. The server then stated at the end of the visit that she was not able to split the checks and became very disrespectful towards my party. I normally love their food, but I must say their turkey burger is the grossest thing I ever tasted. I threw it away in fear it was going to make me nauseous. It is 100% a premade/prefrozen patty. It tastes like they threw it in the microwave to thaw, then slapped it on a bun. Discolored and all. I didn't even know that was the burger when I first looked at it!!! Their most recent menu posted on their website lists 12 wings at $13.99; which is actually $3 or $4 more than other local establishments for the same item. I ordered 2 dozen for pick-up on Friday and they gave me a tab for $38.97. I questioned the total and was told it was no mistake. As if their wings are dipped in gold dust. Times are tough indeed. By comparison, Laura's Pizza right down the road charges $9 and Lisa's Pizza in Telford, $10 for a dozen wings. These folks don't care about their customer base; they're out to make a buck. Period. We ordered the create your own burgers with onion rings to go and both were excellent! The burgers were large and grilled with freakin fresh toppings on top notch buns. The onion rings were some of the best I've ever had. The service was excellent and the staff really cares about the Covid issue so I highly recommend this place. I like chicken wings. I like beer. I like convenience. This place hits all 3. It has ample seating at its bar, and for dining. The wait staff is small, so sometimes it feels a little long of a wait for service, but that is made up for with the quality of service. The food is very good, with a special emphasis on their burgers, and wings. If you go on Wednesday, it is unlimited wings, and I do recommend you try any flavor that looks good to you, they are all delicious. My favorite burger is the cowboy burger, with a pretzel bun, and sub in blue cheese. Their draft selection may disappoint some, but they do rotate the options, and they do have a solid selection of bottled beers. The parking lot is a bit strange, but if you are going later then 6pm, you can park behind the bike shop next door if there is no immediate parking. read more

When anyone compares wings to Union Jacks I have to try them for myself. After trying the Harleysville hotel I would have a new go to spot or something to write about. I can say the Hotel is def not up to par with Union Jacks. Wednesday night is the $9.50 all you can eat special so I stopped by with some friends. We got there around 8:30 and the place was packed. We only had to wait about 5mins for a table though. The inside of the restaurant had exposed rough cut beams and stone walls. The bar starts right at the front door and there are tables scattered all over. I read all the reviews on yelp prior to going and a lot of people said the service wasn't very good. I thought the service was well above average. Our waitress never left any empty plate for more then a few minutes and she was on top of our drinks. The wings were good and the hot sauce was very good. I tried the garlic hot and they were not that great. We got several orders and refills of wings and they were never really under cooked but they were not consistant. One batch was perfect and crispy and the next was still soft to the touch. This is what i expected with and all you can eat and It won't keep me from coming back again. If you are looking for a chill spot with a good wing special the Hotel is a great option. read more

It was saturated in au jus - the juice was sloshing on the plate when the waitress pot my plat down. Waitress was good and friendly. She never asked us how we liked the meal - probably because it didn't look appetizing to her either. If you're nearby and want some incredible wings, this is the spot to go. We order takeout from here a lot to get great wings for game days, and while we were out running errands it was a no-brainer to swing by here for a late lunch. The service is pretty slow, but the food and relaxed atmosphere more than make up for it. We shared an order of the Hot Honey wings and a cheesesteak (I'd skip the marinara next time since it makes for a soggy sandwich). There is plenty of parking out back and a bunch of TVs for gameday viewing. I'm rarely in Harleysville on weekdays but if I am in the future I'll be trying to get here for the $14.99 all you can eat wings. Yum! read more

We go here often and I was severely disapointed in the Prime Rib dinner I ordered on Saturday Night. The prime rib was not slow roasted, but clearly thrown on a flat top so the outsides were gray and the interior was tough and not fully cooked. Their serated knife had a hard time cutting it. It was basically unedible. No ajus was served with it and when I asked it was delivered to the table basically cold. Will never order it again. Very disappointed. read more

We stopped here last night for a late dinner as we were in the area and we have had good meals here in the past. Three years ago, i would have given this place 5 stars without hesitation. After last night's visit, i would say 4 of those stars completely burned out and the fifth is holding on by a thread. I tried to call the owner this evening but was told he only stops in during the days. Hmmm.... that might explain a lot. So, about my visit.... We ordered nachos supreme as an appetizer, and then ordered a bucket of wings, knowing we would eat a few and bring the rest home. Done this before, and it was perfect. This time.... not even close. The nachos were uneventful. I could find plenty to complain about but considering that they turned out to be the highlight of the meal, i will simply say they were "meh" at best. Instead, let's move on to the reason i opened yelp.... And talk about those wings. We ordered the wings crispy, something i always do and have done since living in Buffalo. We also ordered them hot. I don't think i ordered them tiny, nor do i think i ordered the hummingbird wings... but what we got were tiny, very, very much over-cooked, dry, flavorless bones with a hint of meat remaining. Honestly, it was almost as though they collected the bones from those who finished their wings earlier, refried them and hoped the earlier sauce would hold up. To say they were horrible would actually be too kind. We asked for more sauce and got a 4oz cup which we poured on and it immediately disappeared into a handful of lucky wings... so we asked for more. In all honesty, it would have taken a pitcher of sauce to hydrate these bones. Oh, and the kicker was the bill. On the menu, the wings were $32.99 for a bucket. On the bill, they were $39.99. We asked the waitress about this and she turned a card over that was on the table which said that prices may change without notice. The waitress said that the sign should have been more visible, but there is nothing they can do. Really?!? When someone orders them, you can't tell them that the prices are higher? What a horrible experience across the board. Don't waste your money or your time... this place has gone down hill in a huge way. .................................UPDATE............................. I am pleased to share that i called the manager and she listened to my concerns. She agreed that the waitress should have mentioned the price increase at the time we placed the order. Nice spot, someone recommended us going to try the wings. Very good, crispy, on the smaller side. Ordered the BBQ pork sandwich very good not too sweet. The veal parm, delicious. We've been here a total of three times. The last two times we sat at the bar first. Sat there for at least five to ten minutes, no Hello, no I'll be with you in a minute, just walking by me no glances.
