A few pros and a few cons. First, the quality of my drinks was somewhat above average, which is a great thing. Also, they were cheap! The atmosphere was pretty good and the seats at the bar were comfortable enough I stayed there for 3 hours. The cons. The bartender/who-I'm-assuming-was-the-manager was not super friendly and seemed frustrated. There were a couple times she would make the other bartenders do mundane tasks away from the bar and then she would leave too. I remember sitting at the bar for roughly 3 minutes with no bartender in sight. Not the biggest deal, but kind of annoying. Her attitude towards the other staff members was rude and snappy for no reason and made it kind of awkward to sit there. The other problem I had was that I i had finished my drink and it would take forever(think 15+ minutes) to have any bartender ask if I would like a refill. I understand they are busy people but 15 minutes with a very clearly empty glass is kind of obnoxious. read more

My husband and I came in on Thursday. We have been trying new places because we just moved here from Seattle. We had Sacagawea (Cassie) as our server and she was awesome. My husband and I didn't know anything about vegan food but we wanted to try it. We were skeptical. She recommended the bratty brat burger. She explained that she is not vegan but she tried that burger and realized she liked vegan sausage more than regular. My husband didn't believe it for a second. She was not wrong, it's a good burger! We shared that and the Baja tacos, which were SO GOOD! She asked if we wanted the fruity jam with the tacos (I guess it doesn't come with it normally). The jam comes with the eggrolls that she recommended so we will be back to try those. We loved having Cassie as our server. She was so fun and didn't make us feel dumb for asking so many questions. This was my first time at Harp and Hound, I came after the twilight concert. Well a friend and I wanted fries so we walked over and we were seated in this old but modern bar. We ordered water, fries, and a miller light. The server was EXCELLENT on top of her tables, fast, and efficient. Not only did we have good service but our fries were AMAZING!! We walked in with no one to greet us, there was no staff visible to even say hi to us. We sat ourselves and waited 10 minutes for service. Waited another 10 minutes for drinks then it was another 20 before our appetizer came out. I was starving at this point. Our entrees came and we were unimpressed. My burger was tough and hard to eat. The 'signature' fish and chips was very bland it desperately needed salt. Never got our drinks refilled, never was asked how the food was, had to wait 20+ min after eating for the check. Found this spot after settling in Ogden on a business trip. It is blocks away from historic 25th Street. I parked on the street ...2 hrs free parking. When I entered it had a nice atmosphere large bar and plenty of seating. The server and bartender for that matter where very nice. I ordered the seafood tacos and a highly recommended Stout beer via the bartender..10% alcohol. The food came fast and hot. Tacos were extremely tasty very different in that they had a sweet sauce that accompanied the dish. The fish was seasoned perfectly and the fish was plentiful... very very tasty. I Doordashed these guys at work and didn't have time to eat much since we get really short breaks at my job, and have been working constantly, and I was able to eat about half of one egg roll and a couple of chips and salsa. I ordered the Avocado Egg Rolls, specifically for the Avocado, and chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were fine, but there was ZERO avocado in the egg rolls. I thought maybe I just got a bad half, and took them home as leftovers. And I just fried the egg rolls to eat again (because I had to, the outside was weirdly soft and not fried like an egg roll should've been, even when I first got them) and I cut them up for easier eating, and there is no avocado to be found. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but don't advertise something as something it's absolutely not. Also, I should not have to re-cook something when it wasn't cooked properly. I would really like a refund on this, but since I saved them as leftovers and had to re-cook them on my day off, DoorDash won't let me. But I'm very disappointed, and won't go here again. The entrance is oddly located. Even though they have a front entrance into the bar you have to enter into a shared hallway and the door to the Harp and Hound is marked with another business name. We wandered around confused for a moment. Otherwise we had a great experience at the restaurant/pub. The atmosphere reminded me of a beer garden. Clean and spacey. We got great service! Tinisha, our server, was friendly and made some recommendations. She made note of where we were from when she checked our ids and brought it up later in conversation. Everything on the menu sounded so good, but we went with Totchos (tater tot nachos), Fish and Chips, and the Denver Burger(feat. Some amazing house-made Jalepeño cream cheese). Very decently priced. Harp and Hound is legit. I have my go to places, so I delayed going to HandH as I am just super loyal to my favorites. Well I am now officially a fan. I ate their plant based menu items both times and they were delicious! They also accommodated my party of 8 people on their patio, with no issues and no "covid meltdowns". DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went here on a Saturday night for some good bar food. But it was sadly the most disgusting bar food i have ever tasted. I ordered the Dive Burger and when it arrived all that was on it was the stale bun, an over cooked tasteless patty, with one bacon strip ripped in 1/2, a 1/2 a slice of cheese, and hardly any sauce. I had to drench my hamburger in steak sauce just so my mouth wouldn't dry up. The beer was over priced and seating was terrible! 1 burger and 1 beer cost me 20$, now I'd rather eat at McDonald's than come back to this terrible establishment they call a "BAR" you could get a hamburger flavored protein shake that would taste better than anything they have on the menu. read more

I generally prefer coming here over other places in the Ogden area. I really wish all of the security team didn't have such pompous/arrogant attitudes though. Also, a manager who is also a bartender upstairs with reddish medium length hair probably shouldn't be in a management position. We were there last night celebrating a 21st birthday, and got there right at midnight and wanted some drinks. We were the only people upstairs, and she didn't want to serve us drinks after 12:30 because "she's a manager and has a lot of stuff to do before closing". I made a comment back to her like "oh that's fine we can just go downstairs". She was like "no, they have the same stuff to do so you should just get your drinks now if you want them." Excuse me??? Oh and she also messed up on our drinks completely and said "I just followed the recipe on google". (If you google what we asked for, it was nothing like what she gave us) I can't relate to that attitude. The guy washing the glasses in front of us had great a great attitude and great customer service though. Even he said something about security really needing to lighten up though! read more

Typical bar food that is decent at best. My wife likes the place so I would go to make her happy. They have a good beer menu and had several TVs to watch the game which made it ok by me. Well, they have canceled their cable and now only cast YouTube so no live sports games. Not sure if it's a temporary thing to cut costs or what but don't expect to go and watch the game right now. I only have good things to say. I ordered through Doordash from quite a distance. The food arrived hot and delicious. That jalapeno blackberry stuff was amazing. I got the blackened salmon tacos and the fish was cooked to perfection. They didn't skimp on the toppings either. 100% would recommend. I also got their in-house-made chips and salsa. The chips were great, light and crispy. The salsa was very good, although maybe a bit too mild and tomato-y for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I ate every last drop, I would just change a couple of things. If you are having any questions about whether or not to get some food from here, stop now and just order it. Next, I will be trying out their Fish and Chips. I wasn't planning on it, but after the food I had tonight, it is a must. I have never written a Yelp review before this. This food convinced me. Harp & Hound (upstairs)/ Funk & Dive (downstairs) St. Patty's Day, 17 March 2021....My wife and I had dinner a the Harp & Hound a couple of years ago on St. Patty's Day. I had the Banger & Mash, very good. Tonight, we went to the Harp & Hound for dinner. There was a line for a seating, OK. When a table opened for two we were called ahead of a larger party, OK. Again we were there to eat at the Harp & Hound. The seating was in the Funk & Dive. They charged us $5.00 each cover charge, not OK because we were there just for dinner. I guess we should have gone somewhere else. We waited for approximately 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Yes I now they were busy. We ordered 2 beers, water and food. Our beers came fairly quick and the waitress had us pay for the meal BEFORE we got our food. I completed the payment and 20% tip. After 30 to 45 minutes the waitress came to check on us and apologized for the delay and said the kitchen lost our ticket. We finally got our food a little later. The Banger & Mash was not particularly good. The Brats were almost a plain hot dog, and the flavor??? No mustard provided. This looks nothing like what they advertise. My wife ordered corn beef & cabbage. When it came it did not have potatoes and carrots, and no mustard. Waitress was gone for a while again, we wanted to ask for potatoes & carrots and mustard. By the time she came back the wife's food was cold. My wife talked the waitress into a comp desert. Still no waters. They need some help. I like the Funk & Dive, but they need help. Came here for Sunday brunch with my husband and both left EXTREMELY disappointed. The service was horrendous with very average food. A waste of my entire morning. We spent 15-20 minutes for our drink order. Once our order was taken, we waited around an hour for our food. Stepped in here because it was right next to the hotel and I was wanting to grab something easy after a long day traveling. I had to poke around some to figure where to go to get in and get seated but once I figured that out it was a comfortable and welcoming spot. Sat at the bar, had a great beer and ordered the blackened salmon tacos. They were just spicy enough to be really tasty without being painful. I went to Harp and Hound on a Friday night, the bar was near capacity. Parking was a huge issue I had to park on 26th street a few blocks away which was a bit of hassle. The ambiance was great. People were of good cheer, the service was good. I ordered the $5 special steak. It tasted pretty much what a $5 steak should taste like. I can't complain too much about that. The fries were good. Harp and Hound, a unique pub in downtown Ogden. Full bar, excellent beers, and not to be missed sandwiches. Allie was our bartender, waitress, server and all around kick in the pants. She was fun and very attentive and totally keep her clients on their toes with her great one liners. The food was great and an interesting take on regular items. I had the Irish Burger, a burger, corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and 1000 Island dressing, on a toasted Ciabatta bun. Sounds strange but was incredible, oh so tasty blend of flavors. My wife had the Magnolia burger, a burger, bacon, bleu cheese and onion ring on a toasted Ciabatta bun, a great burger in her opinion. We opted for a small salad side and the salad was excellent lots of veggies and housemade bleu cheese dressing. All very tasty, with nice tasty cocktails. We really enjoyed the ambiance, till a group of men came in acting like hyper teenagers loudly dropping f-bombs with total disregard for the women sitting at the bar. One steroid induced muscle man was quite the linguist utilizing f-bombs and variants of the word as a noun, pronoun and verb all in the same sentence, often, and loudly. Another upon receiving his dinner, loudly proclaimed he didn't know what he liked more " di_k or tacos", really, dude? To bad, I see Fazil A. had a similar experience. To bad as management puts up with this childish behavior, as it really takes away from enjoying a great pub environment. Don't let that take away from your enjoying a great pub, just hope the adultish children are somewhere else when you stop by to check it out! We went with a group of friends to check them out about a week after they opened, so maybe things have improved since then, but our experience left much to be desired and we won't be going back. First of all, it was ridiculously loud. The article I read about the place said gastropub. We lived in England for a number of years. A gastropub is a place where you can get together with some friends and have a drink, some tasty food, and a conversation. They had the music cranked so loud that we could only yell at the person next to us. That is not a gastropub vibe. Second of all, the food missed the mark. We ordered eight dishes to the table. Two were good, two were meh, and two were scary. The good were the nachos, both tater tot and Irish nachos were amazing. The meh were the fish and chips, those fish portions were chintzy and the chips were waaaaay over cooked. The scary was a burger that was still bleeding A LOT (some people are ok with that and some people are not. Our friend was not.) and the pork sausages that were still pink in the middle (pink pork is never ok). Finally, the service left much to be desired. One of our dishes was forgotten all together. Drink refills were very slow in coming and one of them was completely wrong - I ordered a Hefeweizen and was brought an IPA. One of the dishes was served on a plate with peeling vinyl. When we pointed this out, this concern was dismissed. The design of this bar is great and the food is great. My friends and I don't love Funk and Dive due to the lack of good service, extremely loud music, general metal/rock vibe. Harp and Hound looks great and we had/have high hopes for this place. The staff dresses nice. The music has been an hour of 80's metal band and industrial rock. We have to shout to talk. There is an event going in downstairs at the Funk n Dive and Harp and Hound is basically the overflow hangout for that crowd and people that want to smoke. As much as we want a different feel from the Funk n Dive it feels too much of the same. I hope Ogden gets a bar soon that is a relaxed place to grab a beer at 11pm at night without having to shout at my friends. *I would like to add. We ate dinner here on a Wednesday around 7pm and the ambiance, service, and food was terrific. My above post may just be issues with the overflow feel from Funk n Dive. read more
