I'm impressed! I came in for dinner, drinks, and catching up with a friend. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and kept our drinks full. I went with a chicken sandwich and tater tots. I'm such a lover of tater tots, and these were crispy, warm, salty, and incredible. The flavor of my chicken sandwich was awesome too. The food is definitely a step above typical bar food. You gotta be 21+. Beer selection was decent and they offer bottled high percentage beers. I have heard nothing but good things about this place. Didn't even get the chance to eat here but what an awful first impression, walked in was greeted by the only nice human there who was very sweet and told me and my partner stories about the "ghosts" and history of the building. After this encounter a waitress walked right between my partner and I and rolled her eyes and scoffed at us both.. for no reason, just to be rude. Walked up to a table, sat down, someone definitely had to have seen us sit down and surprise no help.. no waitress or anyone came to check on us or give us water or menus or anything. I love this place! If you're lucky enough to have Kam serve you then you're in for a treat. I asked for a mimosa and made a joke about using as little orange juice as possible and she brought me a glass of champagne- no juice lol So I was champagne drunk for brunch which I find lovely- again I don't have a drinking problem. I came in on a Saturday hoping for their breakfast buffet but I found out they only serve the buffet on Sunday's :( This isn't a problem because it gives me a reason to come back. The food is delicious here, the service is awesome and the establishment is clean. Kam is AMAZING and never missed a beat. My friends and I were loud and obnoxious but she never made a fuss about it and took care of us. We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled because she was so on top of her game and always asked if my table needed anything when she saw our drinks were getting low. Friday afternoon at 3 was when we arrived. Our server, Poppy, was very attentive and the bar had drinks coming our way within no time. The kitchen, however, was a different story. We ordered pretzel bites off the happy hour menu to get us started with our drinks. Other than us, there was maybe 10 people in the whole place. Yet it took *30 minutes * to get our pretzel bites. Our plan was to have drinks, an appetizer or 2 and then order a meal each. When it took half an hour to get the simplest of appetizers, we decided to not order dinner after all. Drinks were great. Bartender was quick. Server was great and attentive. Ridiculous wait from the kitchen with it being barely busy. The kitchen folks were very busy the whole time we were there, apparently prepping for the dinner rush, but ended up completely neglecting the customers actually there. Was giving it a shot before trying out brunch. Sadly brunch there is no longer on the radar after the sad sad sad kitchen service on a highly *non busy* time. read more

This place is awesome. Great pub atmosphere - lots of TV screens but they are not overwhelming. Ate here twice on our visit to the Ogden/Eden area. The Tatchos are a MUST - you get a huge plate of tater tots and toppings - delicious. The fish and chips are very tasty and the fries are great too. On our second visit, I had the ground beef tacos (3 for $5 on Thursdays) - they were well-seasoned and well-prepared. Don't miss this place!!! read more

The restaurant is UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE! Both of our pizzas were FRIGGING COLD! Mine was with large pieces of peppers and other vegetables. It didn't look like a typical pizza. Plus, two waitresses and one waiter, who wore a hat, kept on staring at us because we are Deaf. We just hate it when people who work at restaurants would stare at us. That's very disrespectful! It was our second time of going there. We will NEVER go back there again!!!!!!!! I suggest you (owner/manager) to provide all of your staff a cultural sensitivity training such as teaching them not to stare at Deaf people and having them communicate with Deaf customers via writing and/or signing (American Sign Language). FYI, we are just like everybody else! Treat us all like we are human beings. *frustrated here* :-( As a matter of fact, this was our second time to go there. We were NOT happy when we went there the first time because we waited for one hour and half an hour for our breakfast burritos. When we got those burritos, they tasted AWFUL! I've been going to Harp and Hound regularly, and my reviews are mixed because my experiences are mixed. How efficiently I will be served is a complete guessing game. Sometimes I will be waited on promptly, sometimes the wait staff takes their time to find me. Sometimes the food is hot and prompt, sometimes I wait 45 minutes for my plate to arrive. I keep going back, however, because they have the best bar food in town. The fact that the food is vegan and the establishment is a bar (so the obligational sign in the window claims) has no bearing on this. A number O-Town carnivores and teetotalists come here to eat off the vegan menu because it's just that good. My personal favorites are the Buffalo tigers, the avocado rolls and the tatchos. I personally am not a huge fan of the vegan pizzas as I don't personally find the texture of the cheese appealing, but my fellow diners seem to enjoy it well enough. So despite inconsistencies, my husband and I find ourselves returning time after time when we want greasy comfort food. They pretty much make it better than anywhere else in town. read more

Went here today for the first time. Not sure why we have never been here before. It was great. I have never seen a bar with such a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food. I had a veggie burger on a ciabatta bun with tots. It was A+++. My wife had a chili verde burrito. Chili verde is her gold standard if it is good she likes the place. She said it was awesome. I had the avocado rolls, I was pleasantly surprised. They were tasty. I asked for suggestions, from what I gathered, everything is 'ok'. So I got some wings and called it good. They were solid. Bloody Mary's were ok! Staff was overwhelmed (which I understand completely), but they were not kind. After waiting about 40 minutes (watching our friends had gotten they mixed drinks or shots repeatedly) we asked for our coffee and where promptly chastised about the waitress being busy with other things and about 10 minutes later received our coffee. The omelet was ok, but the cheapskate breakfast pretty mediocre at best. Overall, I'm not impressed with the brunch here. We choose Harp and Hound because we have a vegetarian friend and wanted her to be able to have good choices. If you vegan or vegetarian this might be a good choice for you! read more

They are new so I am cutting them a break on the service because we were a large group which can make logistics hard. The server was great and will pick up on a few minor things over time. The kitchen got the food out in fits and starts, but eventually everyone got the their food. That said, the food was EXCELLENT and worth the wait. DEFINITELY DEFINITELY going back. Came for drinks before dinner. My spouse and I walked in and had no one to greet us or show us a table so we found one towards the back, away from the loud people gathered at the bar. The floors were sticky all the way we walked. The guy checking IDs wasn't very friendly either, seemed more like a bouncer. The drinks were fine (we both had a pour of High West bourbon). We decided not to eat there. Overall it reminded me of the type of bars you might go to when you're in college. Some of the best vegan food I've had in Utah, maybe anywhere in the US. I've eaten at high end vegan places in San Francisco, vegan dives on the East coast and vegan food trucks in the Pacific North West, this stands up to all of them. This is bar food, but bar food at its finest. I would recommend anything I've eaten so far, but definitely the appetizers are worth your attention. The funky fries are one of the best things I've ever put in my face. They're also fast, even on a busy Friday night I've gotten my food quickly and everyone there is fun and knowledgeable about vegan food. Good atmosphere, amazing vegan food, loaded frickin' fries. A few pros and a few cons. First, the quality of my drinks was somewhat above average, which is a great thing. Also, they were cheap! The atmosphere was pretty good and the seats at the bar were comfortable enough I stayed there for 3 hours. The cons. The bartender/who-I'm-assuming-was-the-manager was not super friendly and seemed frustrated. There were a couple times she would make the other bartenders do mundane tasks away from the bar and then she would leave too. I remember sitting at the bar for roughly 3 minutes with no bartender in sight. Not the biggest deal, but kind of annoying. Her attitude towards the other staff members was rude and snappy for no reason and made it kind of awkward to sit there. The other problem I had was that I i had finished my drink and it would take forever(think 15+ minutes) to have any bartender ask if I would like a refill. I understand they are busy people but 15 minutes with a very clearly empty glass is kind of obnoxious. read more
