I am a frequent patron of this establishment. Full disclosure, I come for the staff. My favorite bartender is Jodi. She knows her stuff and is really sweet and works hard. I've seen countless times where she has done the work of others even though it's not her assigned task. It shows she's trying to make the establishment better. She takes care of me and I tip her accordingly. She always greets me with a smile and is guenuinely interested in my life and remembers our previous conversations. Amazing vegan options and probably the best vegan pizza we have ever had! We ordered the wings BBQ style and they were very good. We were only here for a quick stop so we only had one other item and that was the pizza "The Bad Hunter" lol. It was so amazing. There are herbs in the crust so there is so much flavor! Went here last year and it was great. Last night back in Ogden. Went back for more good food but it was horrible. Had the chicken nachos. Taco Bell does better. Not sure I completely understand this place. The name makes no sense at all. It is a bar, I think, that really wants to be a restaurant, but not a particularly convenient one, so the door to the street by the patio is closed so that people can walk all the way down a not very well-marked hallway? Ok, sure, fine, whatever. How is the food? The food is...let's back up. The menu has potential. At first, I was given a vegan one, so all I saw were a bunch of very non-bar food choices, which was odd, to say the least. Distrusting them to perform that from the interior, which is very much bar, I eventually found the normal menu. I went with the pretzel at first and this colossal thing came out. Very bready, not very pretzely, some stoneground mustard and what was described as beer cheese sauce. It should have been described as cheese-colored beer for more accuracy, I think. Flavor was funky and not especially cheesy. Next, had the Cubano with the buffalo cauliflower. Buffalo breaded cauliflower is a thing now, I guess. Thanks Oprah. Fully half of what I was served was burnt and half was cooked normally. I should have sent it back. I didn't and just tried to eat around it. This was pretty questionable. The Cubano had an interesting flavor to the pork, but the one slice of very thin deli ham I got was gone entirely. By now, I was thinking the kitchen pretty much sucked and seeing one entire side of my pork burnt, masking all the interesting flavoring, pretty much confirmed that. Drink selection, if you don't want something from the bar, is also not very good. So, again, I don't think I understand this place, but I can tell you this: if they actually are wanting to be a restaurant, they are failing completely and will continue to do so as long as the incompetence from the kitchen is what they keep serving out to whatever customers wander in. Went on a Monday night 5/22/17 to celebrate a friends birthday. The place was pretty chill. It was my first time there. Very cool space. We found a table to sit at and ordered food and drinks. We were a table of five and each of us ordered something different. Unfortunately the food was not very good. Here was our groups feedback on their meal. - Chips & Salsa w/ Guacamole: Salsa and guacamole were ok. Tortilla chips, hard and stale. - 2 orders of Fish and Chips: Soggy and cold - Wings: Fried to death - Pizza: Uncooked dough I really hope they get their food right. Came her with my wife for a date night and it was exactly what we needed. Great atmosphere with copper undertones and Edison light bulbs. The kitchen was already closed except for pizzas and dessert. You can get them as a calzone and it was totally worth it. The cook was absolutely awesome and very outgoing making our experience over the top. Very culinary savvy with a passion for great food. The beer comes in either pints or steins and the stein was the way to go. Very satisfied and relaxed from a long and stressful week. I enjoy this place. It's really nice inside but dang it can get toasty. For a bar they have really decent wine. I've only had food here once and I found it pretty good. I had the blackened salmon tacos and they were fabulous. Kind of spicy for my liking but good all the same. Everyone I went with liked their food too! The servers were fantastic and very friendly. I did knock off one star for how long it took to get everything. This is not a poor reflection on the servers. Unfortunately, everytime I've come in here there is one person working the bar and all the tables. You can see how that can be problematic. When I was there in my last visit the server had two large tables and a few small ones. There was at least 30 people in there and one server. She was working her tail off and was very sweet and tried to keep everyone happy. Everyone seemed very happy so I'd say she did well. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Also very disappointed that they use single use plastic cups for their sauces & salsa. So much unnecessary waste. When a restaurant uses real plates, they probably have a dishwasher. Beware Ogden, Utah Harp and Hound Customers! While my debit card was in the possession of Harp and Hound two months ago, fraudulent purchases for on-line gaming were attempted. Luckily, the charges were unsuccessful. I spoke with the manager several times about the $500 attempted on-line gaming charges and was promised a quick and fast resolution. That did not happen. I was told the restaurant owner would call me. That did not happen. Nothing has been done. I have not been contacted and I am dismayed that the restaurant manager and owner have attempted to sweep this fraud incident under the rug rather than dealing with it in a professional manner. Don't let your credit or debit card out of your sight at Harp and Hound. read more

We went for my birthday last night. I called ahead and reserved a table, but when we got there they didn't have any idea about my reservation. The manager quickly scrambled up some tables for us and even gave us free appetizers. Later we ordered our food and half the tables food came and the other half didn't. We waited quite a while, and when we finally complained they had it right out to us. The manager gave everyone their food for free plus free appetizer coupons. The food was absolutely amazing. They were super busy and very apologetic for the inconvenience. I felt that they handled everything very well and despite all the problems I will definitely come back. I have absolutely no point of comparison for this restaurant. It's the only vegan/vegetarian-friendly pub grub place I've encountered, and it's incredible. I've been to pubs that had a few veggie-friendly items, and I've been to plenty of vegan/vegetarian restaurants, of course. But never have I seen a pub food veggie menu equal in size to the regular menu. And it's so good! The raspberry jalapeno sauce is one of the most amazing things I've ever tasted. My husband & I went to Harp & Hound for dinner on Friday night. The food was good, but the many issues with service/staff means we won't be returning. I've been here in the past on weekdays for lunch, and it was very empty. Tonight it was hopping, as expected for a Friday night. We had our IDs scanned. Since I've been here before, I knew it was seat yourself. However, the doormen didn't mention to us to find our own seats. I understand bars are generally sit anywhere; however, since there's so many tables at this establishment a reminder would be nice. The music was SUPER loud, and I couldn't even hear my husband sitting right next to me. Everyone, at every single table, struggled to talk over the music. I get it's Friday night, but many people enjoy conversation with their dinner. We sat down and our server, Ricky, came right over. We told her we needed time deciding. She stopped by twice in a 5 minute period asking us if we were ready to order. It was clear we weren't based on our body language and reading the menus. Husband and I both rushed to decide. I get it's Friday night. The quicker we order, the sooner we leave and she flips a table. Our food came out and everything was fine. With one bite to go, Ricky returned and offered a refill. It was my assumption she could see we were finished and ready for our check. She gave us a refill. I assumed our check was on the way. 20 minutes later, we were STILL waiting for her to return. In that 20 minute period, I observed a couple enter and wait by the counter. I assumed they were waiting on a to-go order or for friends to show up. Staff kept walking by them without ANY sort of acknowledgement. They ended up leaving. After they walked out the ID scanners/bouncers commented to each other (loudly, I could hear them from my table), that the couple was weird for walking in, standing around, and then leaving. The ID scanners/bouncers should take the FIVE seconds when they scan and ID and tell people to sit anywhere they want. Instead, they hold conversations with each other and ignore the general needs of the customers. And, then make fun of customers when they don't seem to understand how their establishment works. 20 minutes later, our waitress who I hadn't seen reappear from the back, finally comes out and asks if we want anything else. Nope. Just the check. She comes back with the check and we leave. For being in such a rush to take our order, she sure didn't care how long it took for us to pay. Along with the poor service, husband & I both noticed the overall relaxed dress code for the female staff. Our server, and others, seemed to be in pajamas/hang around the house clothes. Others were in shorts & crop tops (in 40* weather). When every single customer is more dressed than the staff, it sends a message. I'm all for women wearing what they want, but it was very odd that they were so casual and scantily dressed when the general atmosphere isn't a club/dance/party type environment.
