Just tried this place today and all I gotta say is it's one of my new favorite places. They played some of the best hits of all time of all different genres. They had plenty of beer and even some of talisman on tab. Very clean place and love the style and scene that it brings with it. Bar tenders are awesome and knowledgeable. Definitely. Solid bar and pub food. I got a burger that was very good. It was wrapped in bacon and had jalapeño popper (also wrapped in bacon) in there as well. The fries were very good, well seasoned. The server was nice enough. The only knock was the burger took about 30 minutes to make and my friend was done with his meal by the time mine came out. Been here twice and both times it was fantastic! It has a funky, fun vibe and the hosts, servers, and managers went out of their way to make us welcome and take care of us. I had the grilled cheese, which has thick sliced bacon, tomatos, avacados, and two types of cheese on sourdough bread. I loved it! So much so that I brought my wife back the second time to share it with her. I chose tater tots and I think they are some of the best I have ever had. Absolutely divine. My wife enjoyed the BBQ chicken sandwich and my friends had the Irish CheeseSteak and a sandwich with sour kraut (I forgot the name.). We had a great dinner at this place. My vegan quesadilla was terrific and satisfying and my husband said his burger was perfect. Our server, Nick, was very knowledgeable about the beer selections and my husband had fun discussing the choices with him. I had a GREAT mule made with gin and lavender bitters. My husband and I were super impressed with our dining experience! I had the salmon tacos. The flavor profile was unique and delicious. It put a fun spin on your typical fish taco dining experience, especially with the fruity side sauce they provide. If you don't like raw jalapeños, make sure to ask that they leave them off. Slow night but we were ignored at the bar for about 5 minutes- went up to the bartender and eventually he responded. Decided to get a table after that. Took about 20 minutes to get a waitress then once our food came out they only had half the order- we waited and finally asked where the rest of the food was we were told there was a mistake. Our new favorite burgers in Ogden! Cooked to perfection each time. The fries are great as well. Their selection of alcohol is more varied than some other bars in Ogden, and they have quite a few local options. We went for the soft open and, though the food service was pretty uncoordinated, had an amazing time. They seem to still be figuring some things out, but it's better each time. I love trying new cocktails and the ones they come up with are tasty. There are a few good sipping whiskeys on hand that my boyfriend appreciates. The beer selection is decent. The music seems to lean towards Oldies and Rock with some Pop sprinkled in (I like it) and it's at a tolerable level for conversation. There's a digital jukebox with an app if you want to change it up. The interior design is attractive and there's a good amount of seating for diners past the bar. Mostly four tops that can be pushed together for larger parties-- I think the few tables by the door are larger. Friendly atmosphere, attentive service at the bar (we haven't sat anywhere else so far). One issue I've experienced is inconsistency in their drinks. For instance, we've ordered Bloody Mary's a couple of times. Once, it was in a pint glass, another time it was in a Gibraltar glass. Not a big deal except that we were charged the same amount for two very different sizes of beverage. Another is the proportions of ingredients-- some nights the cocktails will taste quite a bit different than others. Not bad, just different. Sweeter, saltier, whatever. (Caution, detailed personal tale below. Skip to bottom if you're uninterested) The more egregious example, however, is in the Old Fashioneds I have ordered. I love a good Old Fashioned. The night of the soft opening, the bartender taking care of us was brand new. First night ever bartending, she confessed. She looked up the recipe for my old fashioned in a booklet and, though the sugar wasn't muddled thoroughly (She was low on hardware that night and didn't have a muddler. It was a soft open, small things are easily forgiveable), it was great. I ordered the same drink at Funk'n'Dive (bear with me, I will get back to Harp and Hound) a week or so later and received a watery mess. I'm not usually one to take back a drink, but this tasted like when the ice from a finished soda melts in a fast food cup, leaving you with corn syrup tainted water. I walked up, mentioned the watery flavor, and the bartender was... defensive. A guy who is clearly a regular asked me for a sip and told the bartender "It tastes like water" (I was pretty embarrassed, and it was nice to have a seemingly popular patron confirm that I wasn't just being whiny). The bartender then said something along the lines of "Well, you're in Utah and it's not my fault that I can't make it with more booze." He re-made my drink and in doing so took a wedge of orange and mashed it into the shaker, then poured a now gloppy, chunky, pulpy wreck into my cocktail glass and handed it to me. He told me all he did was add less water. I was too embarrassed to say anything other than "thank you". The man either didn't know how to make an Old Fashioned or didn't care to make it correctly. To make it extra awkward, we had managed to sit at a table facing the exact spot that bartender manned at the bar. I obligingly consumed my slightly-less-watery-but-now-chewable-and-fibrous cocktail. The next week, we returned to Harp and Hound and I was really looking forward to a decent Old Fashioned to make up for the previous experience at their sister bar. NOPE. The same gal who'd made it well on my previous visit now made it by mashing an orange wedge into the shaker! Someone took it upon themselves to teach her how to make a drink poorly, when she'd already made strides towards learning how to do it well! Long story short: maybe don't get a classic cocktail? Look before you leap? Stick with what they know? Ignore my story because it's one person's poor experience? For how long and jaded that story was, I still like the pub a lot and think they have plenty to offer to warrant four stars. I look forward to trying their lunch and brunch offerings and would encourage anyone to hazard a visit. I think this is probably my favorite bar in Ogden and will probably change my review to 5 stars once they've been around long enough to work out the kinks. read more

I went here with a buddy on a Thurs night after reading about it in the paper. It was after their soft opening but before the grand opening. I was definitely impressed. The bar is beautiful. They did a quality job with good materials. I ordered a Mule and it was strong and reasonably priced. Great selection of food and I liked the blue cheese burger I ordered. Service was friendly and welcoming. The decor, food, drink and experience quality was wonderful. This is another place I'll take friends who drop into town to ski. read more

I love the bar and the staff. They have great service. I always get my food and drinks quickly. The staff is always joking with each other. When there is a band, the cover is normally free. The food is good. Drinks are good. There have been lots of changes, but always good. I recommend this bar 100% to anyone who asks for a good place to go! read more

First let me say I love this place for the music, beer and pizzza! I wanted to try the brunch... this was a mistake! I only ordered eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon. The toast came out and it was just bread with a little grease spattered on it. The bacon was so burnt that it hurt my teeth! There was only 6 thats right 6 fried potatoes on my plate! The only thing that even looked good was the eggs I ordered over easy. When I sent it back I could see the cook that made it. He was pissed off and started mouthing and justering. His name was (Mike) thats right! Just want everyone to know! The person next to me had the "Corned Beef Hash". It looked like leather mixed with a very few fried potatoes.. she sent her food back as well. I tasted the corned beef .. GROSS. And it was brown. It was ok. The service wasn't bad. The food wasn't great. I had a burrito and I should know better, but I was hoping it would be good. The menu said it was smothered in pork chile verde, but I think it was tomatillo sauce from a jar. No pork. The burrito had eggs and potatoes which were both good, but it could have used some bacon or sausage to make it a meal. My wife had corned beef and hash and she liked it. Hard to find a place that's open late after the Ogden Raptors games. Visited Fourth of July weekend. Found this place on Yelp, looked good and at the door we were greeted by two very friendly bouncers. We arrived 10:30 and told kitchen only serves pizza after 10 pm. I can live with that. BUT they only had enough dough for one pizza. This place is open til after midnight. Bad planning IMO. read more

First time visiting - Saturday evening, moderately busy. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and bouncers. Restaurant policy is to serve personal size pizzas only after 10:00 pm. We arrived at 10:30 pm and placed our order at 10:40 pm for two pizzas. We were informed at that time there was only enough dough to make one pizza, and if we wanted a second pizza, we would have to wait a "very long time" for the dough to rise. Now Harp and Hound accepts customers until 1:00 am, however they ran out of the base for the only type of food they serve after 10:00 pm - 40 minutes into the shift! I call this EXTREMELY poor planning. Ogden could use a place near Linquest Field for people to go for a bite to eat after the Raptor games, and clearly Harp and Hound does not want to be that venue to "step up to the plate" for those customers! read more
