Brunch. We were going to the goat but the wait was 20 min...should have just waited. Instead went to harp and hound. Couldn't believe it didn't have a wait. Server was great. The food...I got a sunny side up burger without the egg, well done. I know..I know. Got the burger didn't have the bacon, or onion, or pickle and the lettuce was under the patty so it was all soggy. Bacon ended up showing up after I had finished the burger. Breakfast potatoes were frozen or previously cooked. Hard on the outside but mushy on inside. My friend ordered the All American egg, toast, breakfast potatoes and she didn't receive it until I was all done eating my burger. Had brunch here this afternoon, it was my first time eating here and based on the disappointing experience it will be my last. I ordered the All American Breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon it is served with breakfast potatoes and toast. The bread was only toasted on one side, the eggs were cold, the bacon overdone, and the potatoes were lukewarm. I shared my disappointment with the server and she responded with "I'm not the cook". She did however offer to have the cook redo my meal. My policy is you only get one opportunity to make a good first impression, Harp & Hound you blew it. I went up to Ogden to see my parents last weekend. We decided on lunch, and I told them I'd be open to anything with vegan options. My expectations were pretty low, but was pleasantly surprised when my mom sent me the menu for Harp and Hound because they have extensive plant based menus! I got a sort of sampler to share with my parents, but they also got an omni dish to share. The pizza was clearly vegan, but one of the better versions I've had. The totchos were nothing special, but I loved the tiger wings! I'd get more of those any day. I definitely want to go back in the future to try some of the other options on the menu, including some pretty tasty-sounding brunch. read more

This is my first trip to Ogden. I was trying to find a couple of cool places to have a drink or two, and maybe something to eat. This was not one of those places. Not a great beer selection, and the appetizer I ordered was bad enough to not finish. I would definitely consider this more of a dive than a cool place to have a drink or two. We asked the bouncer if we were at the correct vegan restaurant [showed photo from Online]. He said "No, this isn't a restaurant." It was very confusing, but he was trying to get us to admit that the place was a BAR, that happened to sell food, and not a restaurant. Very uncomfortable and felt gross entering. Entire staff seemed super annoyed anyone wanted to enter and support their business. Found the table ourselves, after asking a waitress who coldly responded to sit anywhere. After a bit we were served. I asked if the fries included in the burger were vegan. She sort of rolled her eyes at me like I was stupid and should know about this restaurant i've never been too. Food took a bit to get, waters were not filled, no napkins, or utensils given. The food was very good, but I sort of expected that for $15 for a Burger. It's nice they are open until 1am, but a really gross vibe. Very out of place with most establishments that sell vegan food. It was almost like a secret menu you have to beg angry employees to show you. Despite being very polite it seems we, and other in the restaurant were treated the same way, so it's the vibe of the whole place. I liked the food, but the overall experience wasn't really worth it, even if it's near the only option in Ogden at night, I don't think supporting that kind of energy is good. Also, there are two restaurants ["BARS" I guess] listed online. These are the same. There is just a listing from when the restaurant had a different name i'm guessing. If you want 8/10 food, and to be treated condescendingly like a child, go to this place, otherwise i'd give it a hard pass, as cool as a romanticized "dive bar" is on paper. Came with some friends and as soon as walked in we were greeted, and taken to our seats and we met Bailey, she was our server, she was very funny, and friendly and informative about the menu. She allowed us time to think about what food we wanted, and took our drink orders and then came back right away to take our food orders. We ordered our drinks, and she brought them, and then we ordered our food. Our food was good, and we each had tacos different kinds and we shared one each so we could all try them. Bailey kept coming back over and over getting us drinks and telling us her favorites and she took great care of us. We have been back 4 times since then and will keep on going. I am so sad that I forgot to take pictures when I came here. I was with friends from work and it just wasn't on my mind. Though, it should have been, because the food was beautiful! Every meal we ordered came out equally pretty and delicious. We chose this location because we have a vegan friend, a gluten-free friend, and a friend who loves meat. This place checks all the boxes, which is hard to do. I am impressed. There is also a great drink menu here. Sadly, I did not get to try anything due to it being a work lunch. I guess I'll just have to come again and try more of their amazing menu so that I can share pictures and my review of their cocktail options. My only reason for the lack of one star is that the prices are a bit high. However, I'm not sure that can be avoided as Utah is booming at an insane rate, and living costs are through the roof. read more

This was the only place in Ogden that was open when we arrived to town at 9pm. It looked good so we went. There were some good and some bad. People from out of town should know that when you come to Utah, the laws are a bit different and they are enforced hard. Also apparently one of the food staples here is corned beef. The food: The avocado rolls were actually amazing! But we almost didn't get them. There was some mix-up and we actually didn't get our appetizer until AFTER we got our main course. We had to ask a few times for them. Bummer. I ordered the Reuben and asked for the thousand island dressing on the side. I asked for tater tots with "fry sauce", another Utah staple. I got it with the thousand island still in it but with extra on the side as well as extra fry sauce. Another mixup. The beer was good and our server was kind enough to bring us a couple of samples before we ordered. We ended up skipping the juicy IPA in favor of the Hefeweizen which was tasty. During our meal, there was another bar patron who created a bit of a ruckus by loudly exclaiming "F*ck the LDS Church!" The bar staff didn't remove him, which was surprising, to let a belligerent spewing hate remain. All in all it was probtone of the weirdest dining experiences I've had and I probably wouldn't return. read more

Dropped in for lunch and to check the new place out. They have a great vibe with a long, center bar filled with all the spirits a guy could want and it is decorated very nicely. Beer and spirits = no kids so you can have grown up talk over your food and drink. I opted for the blackened salmon tacos and they were outstanding. Served with a raspberry jalapeno reduction, straight heavenly. The decision was not an easy one when looking at the menu. I am a straight up omnivore but looking at the Vegan menu I saw some options that I definitely want to go back and try. My wife and I would occasionally dine in but usually get DoorDash or take out, though the last time we'd eaten there we thought the food had gone down hill somewhat. We hadn't ordered recently but yesterday had a DoorDash delivery: we ordered a pizza, buffalo wings, and a French dip sandwich. The food arrived still warm, but was about the worst pizza we'd ever eaten in Ogden. The pizza sauce tasted like it came out of a tomato paste can, no seasoning, we paid extra for the vegan sausage and there was just a tiny bit clumped in the middle, and both of us took a few bites and couldn't stomach the rest. The sandwich was ok, not great, and the buffalo wings (which used to be delicious) were mushy. I hate giving this review as Harp and Hound as well as the Funkin Dive used to be our regular date night spot. Nice ambiance and beer selection, but I suggest get your food somewhere else. read more

Kind of hard to find the front entrance. Once we got in, it took about 20 minutes for a server to come over, get our food and drink order, and bring us back our beers. A little bit of a wait but we understand and wouldn't have cared at all. After the server brought us our drinks he completely ignored us. We drank our beers and waited for our food while he walked past many times and we seemed to be invisible. There were five other tables there, and some people at the bar so not crazy busy, but we still understood waiting for a while and didn't think it was that big of a deal. After an HOUR I flagged down a bartender and asked her to check on our food. Apparently the kitchen had lost the ticket, which we assumed had happened. Once again, we understand these things happen and wouldn't have been upset had the server not continuously ignored us for over an hour instead of checking in on us or on our food. Our drinks had been empty for like 40 min at this point and this guy had walked literally less than 2 feet away many many times. The bartender (Courtney I believe is her name) was super sweet and came over and apologized and comped one of our dishes. Really appreciated her doing that since she wasn't involved in any way! Another 10 minutes later our original server came over and "apologized", and by that I mean he said "the kitchen lost your ticket, they even have a kitchen manager back there! Hell of a job he's doing. Courtney took care of you though, right?" After our food finally came out to us (an hour and 40 minutes after we walked in the door) our server checked in on us a normal amount and we appreciated it. Our food was really good, especially the tender tiger wings! However the carrots that came with it had extremely soft parts that you could squish your finger through, and the celery was dry and browning. Each of these things individually wouldn't have been a big deal for us, we work in customer service as well and understand sometimes things happen. However seeing as how they all happened together and we had driven from Sandy to Ogden to eat here, we will not be returning. We stopped in tonight, for a quick bite. What a cool place. There are a lot of historic buildings in downtown Ogden. This is one of them. Old brick covers the walls, from floor to ceiling. Very simple and relaxed feel. It's 21 and older, so be sure to have your ID with you. Everyone was practicing safe distancing and the staff was wearing mask. Tables were spread apart as well. It was very clean and tidy. This is a great place to just chill, enjoy a beverage of your choice and enjoy some high quality pub fare. The bar sits in the middle of the room and large enough to accommodate many people (even during the distancing required with the pandemic) My wife had The Dive Burger; which had huge pieces of bacon, a cream cheese and Jalapeño Spread on a brioche bun. Served along with Fries. She loved her dinner. I had eaten earlier and wasn't real hungry, so I opted for the Bavarian Pretzel appetizer. Not sure how I arrived at the thought of a pretzel being a "lite" option - lol!!! The plate arrived with two large pretzels and a side of beer cheese sauce and a stone ground mustard. The pretzels were fantastic. Everyone working was friendly and made you feel welcome. Our server was sweet and checked on us often. It was an enjoyable evening and we will absolutely return. Dana took excellent care of us! She kept our water glasses full, was polite and friendly but not hovering and let us know about the corned beef and cabbage special for St. Patrick's Day the next day. We are vegan and gluten free and the food was absolutely incredible. You can tell the quality of the food they serve is very important. The restaurant was extremely clean and had a great atmosphere. My boyfriend had the tachos and I had the mushroom swiss burger. We were both absolutely happy about our choices and we would definitely go back next time we are in town. What an interesting little place in downtown Ogden, UT. My friend and I flew into SLC and were on our way to Yellowstone and stopped here for a bite to eat. What attracted me to this place was the numerous amounts of vegan options they had. I ordered the vegan avocado rolls and the beyond burger. My friend ordered the taco salad with pork, which was huge and looked really good, even though his meal wasn't vegan/vegetarian. The food was really good, especially the avocado rolls...those were amazing and I couldn't even tell that they were plant based. They came with this dipping sauce that really set the flavor off. My burger was also really good. The restaurant is located in an old court house, I believe and it still has that old bones, rustic feel. The staff was super friendly and the guy at the front even joked with us a little. Service was a little spotty and it weirded my friend and I out when we asked for straws and the server handed us open straws with his bare hand. Given the pandemic we're facing, it would have been nice if he handed them to us with a napkin...or had gloves on...or if the restaurant had straws in wrappers...something to put the customer at ease. Because he did this, we felt it basically undid all of their COVID-19 preparations (masks, social distancing, etc.) I know all of this stuff is new and everyone is getting used to it all but hopefully it'll all get figured out sooner rather than later. read more

I'm hesitant to leave a review during these weird Covid times. But here you go. We went in for drinks only. I ordered a gin and tonic. Tonic was flat, I wasn't sure it contained gin, and the glass was dirty. My date ordered a beer with a glass to pour into. That glass had lipstick still on it. He also ordered a shot which came in an odd glass and was... dirty. Service was ok, she was nice enough but for a pretty empty bar my gin and tonic took quite a while and she had to ask twice what I had ordered. Music was awful. Really not sure I'd go back.
