Harpers has been my "goto" since buying my first Moto Guzzi almost 15 years ago. Curtis Harper has been so free with his time and advice on the telephone, it is like stepping back in time to the motorcycle shops of old. This year I decided to avail myself of Harpers Consignment Service, my bikes were sold at a fair price in no time. The reason?, Harpers reputation for trustworthiness and fairness. The process was simple, Curtis and I discussed the sales price, commissions, etc. and the motorcycles, titles, and paper work were sent. There was excellent communication throughout the process, with sales paperwork sent directly after the sale. This was an important step as my State's DMV and Tax Departments require sales receipts, etc. to remove the vehicles off the tax rolls and licensing registries. I really like this place. It is a true motorcycle shop and not a boutique like most motorcycle dealerships are these days.

After returning incorrect petcock washers that I'd purchased 4 months ago I'm more than 80 Aust dollars out of pocket ( Harper's mistake , not mine ) . Curtis told me he'd send the correct ones after I made it known of their mistake ,but all this time later I've received nothing . If you're reading this , and about to shop for Moto Guzzi parts , do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere and at least if you use a payment method such as PayPal for example you're sure to receive a full refund in this type of situation. Couldn't be happier with Harper's Moto Guzzi. I'm almost finished with a complete rebuild of a V11 engine, and Harper's has 95% of what I have needed. This is my first Guzzi rebuild, so every time I need a part, I order it. Then, about 30 minutes later, I realize I need more parts, so I place an additional order. Curtis has always sent the items in the same box to save me money on shipping, even though I'm an idiot and ordered the parts at different times. If I've ever had trouble finding a part on the website, which is hard to do because everything is categorized nicely, I send Curtis an email asking if he can direct me to the right spot. He always responds with the correct link. I've ordered the wrong parts and realized it after the order has been processed, and Curtis has not only allowed me to change the order with no hassle, he has also directed me to the correct parts. read more

Love these guys. They have it all and hard to find parts as well. These bikes are hard enough to manage. Harper makes it easier.

I paid for Eldorado petcock gaskets. They sent me the wrong ones. I sent them back at my expense and asked for the correct replacements. I waited 2 weeks. I asked where my replacement parts were. They "said" they sent them weeks ago. I never received them. They did not send them return receipt or insured, and offered no proof. They said they would send replacements, but I would have to pay for the shipping!!! They made all the mistakes, wasted my money and my restoration time, then wanted me to pay more. Most honest businessmen would consider it "the cost of doing business". They didn't even have the decency to return my money or send new parts. Don't patronize these greedy fools. They cost too much anyway. Their prices are ridiculous. Let the MG groups know about this. Spread the word. A one star rating is too much. read more

I've been on a cross country trip, and discovered the my 84 Cali II had been vandalized in the night while I was in an RV Park (people, what can I say). I was near Lake of the Ozarks, and having bought pats from them in the past, called to see if I could bring my bike in to their shop. The next day, I was at the shop b fore they opened, and was warmly greeted by Mike Harper, his chief mechanic Carlos, and Maggie the dog. Brought the bike in, Carlos fixed the sabotage to the front brakes, and then found that one of the front fork lower retaining bolts have been removed, a level of lethal sabotage. Had great conversations with Mike and his son Curtis, got to hear about their collection of racing trophies, drool over the rare bikes in their collection, and got tips from all three of them. Given how down I was over the damage, and to that I had to backtrack 136miles, I was given such a gift by these three excellent men that so overshadowed all of that an d left m speechless, smiling and happy the rest of the day. So i called Harper's today for an update on the UPS investigation. I spoke to who I was told was the owner, but come to find out I was lied to (more info to come)....yeah, UPS delivered my package today, which i am excited and pissed about. I called Harper's to let them know, and ended up speaking to the owner, who had no idea what I was talking about, and clearly was neither of the two guys I spoke to in the parts department. My one star reviews sticks due to terrible customer support. I have a few Moto Guzzi Rallies to attend soon, I will make sure to steer the other members clear of this place. Doing business is a gamble here - more so than with other vendors. Harper's could care less about the customer so as long as they get paid and the parts get shipped. Once that happens you are on your own. Go to a dealership. It is cheaper, you can pick up the parts there, and there is better customer support. Shipping costs are rediculous with this place. I've placed about 5-6 separate orders over the past 5 years. Each order, without exception, has had an issue in one way or another. Whether it wrong parts, sent to an incorrect address or broken parts. I dread calling the customer service line because I don't feel they are being truthful at all times. I've called about backordered parts on a couple of occasions and, Surprise, "they just came in today". I'm sorry If I don't believe in coincidence's. My biggest bitch, however, is ordering the "Outsider" oil pan conversion about 3 years ago with the promise of an accompanying replacement dipstick. That dipstick has been on backorder this whole time. I've called numerous times regarding the dipstick and have been given numerous excuses. About 1 1/2 years ago I was told that they would no longer be making them, but when I saw them on their website last month, in what appeared to be a different style, I called again to check and see if I would have one coming my way. I was told they were out of stock again. I have to wonder why I wasn't sent one when they were in stock at some point during the past 3 years. Anyway, I'm certainly glad they aren't the only game in town because I think I finally learned my lesson. I don't even want to talk about the incorrectly labeled service manuals on their website. Suffice it to say you'll want to call first to verify if it covers the models it is purported to cover on the web site. read more
