I am going on my second, disappointed experience with ordering Subs at the Strawbridge, Harris Teeter location. I placed my pre- order through their app and assumed I was good to go on the three whole meat ball subs for my family. When I got there on time to pick them up, they called me as I entered the store and told me they didn't have enough meat balls to make all three. Bottom line is, if you don't have all the needed ingredients to serve the customer, don't advertise it period. read more

Harris Teeter at Falls Pointe in Raleigh has become a disaster. Twice in a row I received notification that my online shopping order was ready but it was not. For the first one I arrived at the store only to be told it was not ready yet so I had to park and wait a while. The second time I checked before going and it wasn't ready. Apparently corporate rolled out a new system that is a train wreck and is incredibly inefficient. After I complained to corporate the new store manager called me with excuses and promises, and said he would put a credit on our account but he did not. I don't have time for this nonsense and I'll be shopping at Publix from now on. THEY know how to treat customers. They're a little more expensive but all the BOGO deals make up for it and the outstanding customer service and product quality too. read more

Has to be the worst location in the Harris Teeter chain. Incredibly unfriendly cashiers and zero help. All lanes closed so basically you can't do real shopping. Go anywhere else. read more

This store has been a staple since we moved to VB.... Definitely had its ups downs with service "out of date items in the self and generally grumpy customer service". That has all resolved to the point of normality now... but the current management insists on turning a blind eye to people living in front of their store to the point where I have to walk past half eaten rotten food in carts and straight up encampments on the side walk. Putting empathy and social criticism aside I expect businesses to respect me and my business enough to at least keep this dealt with "not encouraging it. " There have also been periodic trailers parked in the back of the lot being lived in to the point they would tap into light post tower for electricity. Store management just has to do better.... I will be using the teeter by Sandbridge rd until they tighten up the ship. read more

I can't praise this lady enough for making a delicious and beautiful cake for my husbands military retirement party. I had ordered one originally from an independent baker who fell through. My son and I happened to be in Harris teeter when I remembered how much my husband loves their double chocolate cake. Luckily the party was scheduled to be the weekend after Fourth of July so there were some cakes in the display that were patriotic that we could use for reference. We looked through the book of cakes and even though there were no patriotic cakes in there she was able to create this epic cake from a few ideas in the display and a Pinterest picture she had me text to her. We had so many compliments on the cake. Not only did she make it more than I could have expected she made sure it was carefully transferred to my trunk from a couple of nice baggers give how massive it was. Aleyda saves the party!! This Harris Teeter is located at the Strawbridge Shopping Center near the corner of General Booth Blvd. and London Bridge Rd. This replaces the old Farm Fresh that used to be there before. I have since been in here several times since it is pretty close to home for me. This Harris Teeter has a similar layout to the old Farm Fresh. There is one entrance into the place. As you enter, you will be by the registers, but can go to the left or right of the entrance. Going left will get you towards food, deli service, etc. To the right would be customer service and household type items. This is a fairly large store. You can find just about anything you would need here. The selection is larger than many of the other stores such as Lidl, Aldi, Food Lion, etc. They have a good seafood and meat selection as well. Basically, if there's something you are looking for, you will probably find it here. Although you can find just about anything you may need here, their pricing is higher than other grocery stores in the area. Since Harris Teeter is owned by Kroger now, I would consider Harris Teeter the high end grocery store chain of the Kroger brand locally. The check out process is typical of a grocery store, but they seem to never have more than one or two registers open at a time, even when it has been busy when I was in there. Hopefully they get their act together during peak times and have more registers open. Some Harris Teeter locations also have a fuel center, though this location does not have one. You can earn fuel points from purchases, and can be used at BP, Harris Teeter, and Kroger gas stations. Points earned at Kroger can also be used at Harris Teeter Fuel Centers too. Overall, this is a good spot to get some of your grocery needs. There wasn't anything that would wow me in here. With the prices being on the higher end, I don't come in too often, but it is convenient to where I live. If you are in the area and need a few grocery items, this is still a good option. read more

This Harris Teeter is not the Gucci kind like on Princess Anne just down the street but it's nice and updated and has really friendly staff. It's a huge improvement from the Farm Fresh that used to be here. Still, because it moved into an already existing Farm Fresh location, it's not as large and expansive as the two other nearby HT locations. I was able to come in and get basic supplies without having to go down the street since I was already here - eggs, cheese, milk, cereal, etc. But I was looking specifically for Hemp seeds and some other "hippie" stuff and they did not have it. It's great for specific and standard items and the produce section was on point with fresh items, but if you're looking for something that's a little specialty - this probably isn't the place - they just don't have the room to stock those things in here. read more

If you're looking for it, they've most likely got it. This store just opened and it is packed with a fantastic selection of spices, fresh foods, Soooo many types of condiments, dairy etc...It's a blast to peruse the isles and compare how much more this store offers over Food Lion and Aldi. If you need specialty foods I would chick this store out. As for the butcher section...I'm not sure what that offers as I ran out of time. Come check it out! See what you think! read more

Ok four stars for a supermarket that physically is below par. They don't stock most items that the new Harris Teeter down the street on Princess Anne Rd has and frankly the building is an old Farm fresh. So why 4 stars? The reason is the people who work there. Every time I've gone into the General Booth, Strawbridge Marketplace location, their customer service has been excellent. Let me give you one example, the other day I was looking for something that is unusual and it was hard to find. I had 3 employees helping me to find it, in the end they did not have it. But they tried, were pleasant and actually cared. I will take a small store with heart over a large store with everything in stock. If looking for general items come here. For unusual stuff go to a boutique supermarket or a large Harris teeter. This reminds me of old times stores before corporations took over everything. read more

Funny store. I am new to the area and live nearby. Virginia Beach offers a range of stores as well as produce vendors and independent butchers and seafood markets. For products I need on a daily basis I use the Walmart Supercenter. They have most of what I need and prices are acceptable. But, I use many other stores for certain items. This little Harris Teeter is too pricey for anything I can buy at Walmart, but when things are on sale there are savings to be had. The only thing that I buy here on a regular basis though is beef. With a store card I buy whatever steak they have on sale. It is usually excellent quality and the sale prices make it a bargain. And when I am there for steak I keep an eye peeled for other items on sale and generally pick up an item or two. Nice store, really, but not a place to do a major shopping if you watch your money at all. read more

Most mornings I head over to this location after the gym a little before 6 (when they are supposed to open) this location is usually not open on time. Isn't too bad, but once they open They are still rushing to get things ready when I walk up to the check out line the cashiers aren't even ready to check customers out. Very disappointing to see that you open late and still not ready to deal with customers. I called last night to make sure they were going to be open at 6am their "normal" time and they confirmed they would be. Show up at 6:20 to find out they don't open at 7am. Better off going to Walmart at least they are consistent and won't have to wait on cashiers. read more

Lucky to get a star...sad when a major grocery store takes over a space to gain market share. The store in Strawbridge is convenient, however unless you are picking up milk or beer, it is a disappointment. The produce is absolutely terrible....almost to the point that bring in the older stuff from the other two stores close by. VARIETY IS LIMITED. My alternative is Walmart...which has a larger selectio and better quality product...and did I mention lower price. This store tarnishes my impression of Harris Teeter to the point I won't shop them anymore. I never understood why they went in there to begin with....except to dominate marketshare......you've lost my share all together. read more

I live near all three stores. I thought I'd try this new one. Maybe it is still adjusting, since it is new. The selection is almost the same as that of farm fresh. However, both times I went, I happened to get the same cashier (the only open Lane.) She was condescending and rude, something I have never encountered at HT stores in the years that I have shopped there. read more

I feel like this location just keeps going downhill since it opened. Since moving here, I discovered Harris teeter, and I love them. I drove to the one near Nimmo all the time which isn't far from me, however strawbridge is about 5 minutes closer. So when this location opened, I was excited. But I never enjoyed the layout of this location vs other Harris Teeter's, which I assume this is because it's an old Farm Fresh. They do not have every item that the other location near Nimmo does. In fact, half the time I leave not finding everything I need. It's either not an item this location carries or not stocked. Which leads me to say this store is poorly stocked at times. It's hit or miss. Today the produce section was awful, very bare and to top it off a lot of produce was moldy, turning brown, mushy, etc. As the months have gone by I've also noticed a lot of food being expired or a day or two away from expiring. So I really watch my dates here. This location does not have a nice bakery like some others do, but does have some bakery items. Nor does it have a starbucks if that's a requirement for you. And if you love Harris teeter because they scan your items straight out of the cart, don't expect that here. This location is like any other grocery store where you empty your own cart. And when it comes to check out, the most I've ever seen open are 2 registers. Now I always shop late morning-mid afternoon here, so the store is pretty empty. But if you and the 6 other people shopping all go to leave at the same time, you'll be waiting a little. And most days there are barely any carts in the store. It's like they only have their staff working register during the day. I rarely see anyone stocking or on cart duty. The good about this store - their meat department is always fresh and well stocked, and the people working there and the deli are always super nice and helpful. The staff will always acknowledge you within the store and ask if you need help and just give a friendly hello and smile as you shop down the aisles. This location also mails $10 off of $50 weekly coupons for those of us in the surrounding neighborhoods which is the only thing keeping me returning to this location instead of driving an extra 5 minutes to the other. However lately, they have added a free item each week to these coupons on top of the $10 off which makes me wonder how bad this location is suffering that they're trying their hardest to bring people in? This weeks item wasn't in stock, but they did offer a substitute which was nice. Unless you have one of those coupons, I recommend going to the Nimmo location. This location just keeps disappointing me more and more over time. read more

Be careful of what you are buying from Harris Teeter on General Booth. I went into this store to pick up a few things and went to the packaged meat. I picked up lunch meat and it was 2 days before expiration. We buy packaged and not deli meat because the shelf life is longer. When we asked the Meat manager about it we were told to come back this afternoon and it would be marked down. Another words he was going to sell it full price first. People work hard for there money and when they are paying 6.99 for a pound of sliced meat they want to be able to keep it for longer then 2 days. Especially at a time like this when most people are out of work. I put my other items back and left the store. Went to Food Lion where they had a much better fresh selection and was cheaper anyway. Shame on you Harris Teeter. You should ask your Meat Manager if he would take an almost expired MEAT item home to his family and expect them to eat it after the expiration. read more

Extremely nice staff. Had problems with food items that was taken care of almost immediately. The downside is it is not as large as the Harris Teeter at Sandbridge Commons, which has pizza ready-to-eat, a larger selection of items and there's a Healing with Heart veterinary which is very convenient(for people with pets) and if I don't find what I want or need at the Strawbridge Harris Teeter, the one on Princess Anne is a short distance away. read more

We waited 8 months for Harris Teeter to move into a former Farm Fresh. The wait was totally worth it! Yes, the store is set-up similar to Farm Fresh, but this store is very clean, freshly painted, with much better lighting. Go to Customer Service to apply for your VIC card-savings are easy to find. The produce is fresh, the seafood and meat I've purchased have been excellent. The only thing...the parking lot gets crowded, but that was the case with Farm Fresh. read more
