I am going to give this hotel a star for the location since it is super close to south beach and lots of local restaurants. You also have a Walgreens and cvs on the corner. Now to the hotel! We arrived and initially i liked the lighted palm trees in the entrance way. We walk up To the reception area and the front desk lady was friendly. Once we checked in the receptionist told us directions to our room.we had to walk up the stairs with our luggage, definitely wished it was easier than this. The hotel smelled out from the moment we checked in to the moment we opened our room door. The smell In our room was like a wet basement. I wanted to be more positive I walked into the bathroom Tiny but a bit modern. The room and carpet was suspect so we went to cvs and purchased some Lysol and spayed it down. The rate was what sold me. The pics on the website were not the same as the actual room. I think I'd rather pay more or stay a bit more out than stay here. read more

I'd done alot of research on South Beach hotels and it took me a while before I selected one because they're all boutique hotels, each is unique and very different from major chains (and you know what to expect from the major chains). I booked with the Harrison via a third-party website in order to get a better rate. Here's my rundown: THE PROS... - Located in a quieter area of south beach. South Beach is a party town, however when we're at the hotel, we're ready to wind-down, and that's exactly what we were able to do here. - Clean linens! - They provided beach towels. - Reception staff very pleasant; referred us to restaurants nearby, held our luggage for us after checkout and got us a cab back to the airport. - Very close to the (non-crowded section of the) beach. - Cool lounge area in the courtyard. - DirecTV in the room. - Fridge in the room (free ice in the courtyard). - In-room safe. - Remote controlled air conditioning in the room. (freezing AC, yay!) THE CONS... - Reserved a double queen room, however received a double DOUBLE room. Disappointed about that, however it wasn't a deal-breaker. - There was, what I'm assuming was an extra blanket, in the closet... unfortunately it appeared dirty and had hair all over it. Very gross. Luckily we didn't need it. - There was no bath soap provided. Luckily we had our own. - There was only one washcloth provided... very strange for a double-occupancy room. I put in a request for more, but ended-up getting it from the housekeepers that were on my floor at the time I returned to my room for the evening. - Housekeepers came around really late, like between 4 and 5. - There was a really strange glass partition built onto the side of the tub, converting it into a shower-door. Only problem was, it wasn't an actual "door," just a partition, which meant every time we showered, water got all over the floor, because there was no "door" for us to close. We had to put a towel down, otherwise there'd be a puddle after every shower. - Room had a fridge, but no microwave. - No elevator and very narrow staircase. Luckily the staff offered to carry our bags. For the price (paid less than $100 a night), i'd definitely stay there again. There were many "cons," but the pros certainly outweighed them. read more

when We arrived the patio was full of leafs and it looked old, as if it had not been swept in weeks. Then once we walked it there was a smell in the lobby like an old wet basement. I checked in with the hotel manager who was nice and helpful he carried our bags upstairs. I booked a double bed for my friend and I, once we get to the room there was 1 queen bed so I was sooo angry. I went back down stairs to inform the manager and he says the owner is British so when You order a double bed it means 1 bed. Which made no sense. When I asked what can be done to rearrange for us to have 2 beds he said that he would have to charge $25 per night extra so I WAS EVEN MORE PISSED OFF. Once i got to the room he called the phone in the room to say he figured out a "trick" he can get me a double bed. LIES he could have been switched my room he just wanted to charge me. So we get a new room which was a double bed GREAT. I decided to use the restroom only to discover tiny little spider bugs all over the white floor. I freaked out.. Needless to say they were every where even on the desk. The maids came to "mop" the floor but that didnt help and they hardly spoke english. I ended up getting disinfect spray and 409 from the store to clean the tub. This hotel needs to be updated so bad it was a waste of money and No one should have to deal with this. Please dont book here, and if u decide to book here be sure to check the floor,bed and desk for little bugs. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HELL HOLE!!!! This place is horrible!!!!! We booked it via booking.com and the pics on the website look NOTHING like the place we walked into. First red flag was we pulled up in an Uber and no one greeted us to help with bags. There was an iron gate to walk through; it looked very scary and not inviting at all. Once we were checked in (after being left at the front desk for what seemed like forever) we headed to our room via stairs because there is NO ELEVATOR(S). The hallway wreaked of mildew odors; we opened the door to the room and it STUNK. The carpet was filthy, the chair was filthy, the bed frame was scratched and worn. Needless to say, we checked right back out. I would not allow my pet to stay at this place. They should demolish this building and start from scratch rebuilding it. It looks more like a halfway house than a hotel. UGH! read more

The hotel experience here was amongst my worst. Generally, the room was dirty and smelled of weed. The bed did not have pillow cases along with several noticeable stains. The shower did not have hot water as well. Also, the doors didn't even have locks. It appeared that the locks were once there but were removed at a later date. Very disappointed. read more

But if you care about your health, safety and comfort do not torture yourself with "The Harrison Hotel". I booked two rooms for one night at a pretty good price of $300 and its true what they say, "you pay for what you get" but i think this took that phrase to a whole new level. The bathrooms were smaller than a broom closet, the floors looked awful, the crapy ac system was spitting out ice pellets onto the beds, the walls were crumbling down and the beds...oh man the beds..THE WORST BEDS IN HISTORY. I felt like i was sleeping on yoga mats over springs, they even had sand on the sheets. Now heres the even worse part, valet service was $30..cool. DO NOT USE THEIR VALET SERVICE, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR STUFF. I left my disney tickets in the glove compartment and gone by the next day. Do yourself the favor and do not book here, no matter how long your stay. read more

There were no elevators there, so therefore we had to bring our bags up the stairs; problem number1 problem number 2 the Hotel looked noting like it does on site! I am not sure if BOOKING.COM actually checks things out before they post the information. Needless to say we checked out right away! We did find out later that this place is considered a HOSTEL! (I would not even call it a hotel) Smells like shit, dirty sheets, toilet, paint is falling of the walls. Just horrendous. I stayed one night only because the booking company told me to let them make it right by next morning nothing had happened. Booked another hotel and told them the problems and they had nothing to say, because the know I was right. They just hope you let it go. I was pretty pleased with this place, considering the price. It was definitely not a deluxe hotel. But considering how inexpensive it was, and how close it was to the beach and other night life activities, I was happy. The room was pretty basic, but clean. They could have cleaned the floors a little better (since it was wood, and felt a little dusty, like it hadn't been swept in a while). But the sheets and towels were very clean and exactly what I would have asked for. The windows could have used blackout shades, since it got light pretty early. But overall, the room was great and there wasn't a ton of noise from other guests, staff, etc. I booked online through a third-party site, and the check-in and check-out were totally seamless. Always nice. The final selling point was the location. It was close enough to be walkable to the beach and other highlights of the area. But off the beaten path enough to be pretty quiet. A lot of the lower-priced hotels I looked at were either attached or really close to night clubs and bars, which didn't seem that appealing. This place was nice in that we could enjoy ourselves, and then walk back and get a decent night's sleep. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights during March Spring Break. Overall a decent experience. Great location, clean, good customer service at front desk. Love having to carry luggage up steep steps...Location was superb. Right next to the beach. Room was ratchet to say the least. Stains on the sheets even when they were "changed out" the next day. Our room key didn't work two consecutive times after being out and about not sure what the deal was with that. Very inconvenient. Rooms definitely need to be updated/maintenanced. New paint! Shower layout was terrible. Hallways were dirty and carpet needs to be cleaned. Front desk people were nice. Nice little courtyard area to hang out. read more

Very friendly service, clean spacious rooms, plenty of hot water, nice modern bathroom, etc. I was only here for a total of like, 5 hours, but I slept pretty well with those 5 hours and they weren't too mean to us about oversleeping check-out time by 2 hours. So I booked this hotel in South Beach recently via their website 2 weeks in advance (so they had my credit card number). Our 12 hour flight arrived around 8 pm and we immediately headed to the hotel. We were pretty tired from traveling. When we arrived at the hotel the check-in person informed us there were no more rooms available. I showed my reservation and he said there was nothing he could do and suggested another hotel nearby. Then they charged my card $261.00!!! I've emailed and called the hotel at least a dozen times and have yet to receive a response. Whenever I call, the manager Eloy is not available. I feel this may be some sort of scam. I've tried to dispute the charge with my bank but there is nothing they can do since I cannot prove they were overbooked. Don't throw your money away! read more

I needed a place in South Beach for one day we had just come back from a Cruise and was leaving the next morning, so i didn't want to spend a arm and a leg for one night (ex. Loews, Ritz, etc.), So i looked for a bargain/decent price that wasn't a rat hole. FYI if you've never stayed in south beach beware of the so called resort fee some try to charge for being by the beach smh. The price came to $114 tax included and i booked through expedia, when we got to the hotel the reviews are correct it is a small boutique hotel and it smells like fresh paint (didn't bother me). Check in was 3pm we arrived at 10am the girl at the front desk was really nice, she let us know our room was already done so if we could check-in free of charge. The Hotel does NOT require security/hold deposit which was great!!. The room: It actually does look like the photos just remove all the perfect sun light and photo shop but you can tell its old. I'm a Ritz kinda guy but I'm no prude (now my wife that's another story) you get what you pay for, If you need one night MAYBE two for a decent price this is the place for you, but if I was in SB for 3-5 days i would have been at the Loews or other nice hotel up the street. The location is great 2mins from the beach/ocean drive, all the staff was great, helpful and nice. I did hear the bass from the music everyone speaks of but it didn't bother me. The best budget hotel I've ever stayed in on south beach, the only negatives are no pool and no elevator. We knew this before hand and were okay with it since the location is great and you can't beat it on the price. King beds are excellent and Also during the night we heard not a peep.. I was surprised. First the good: 1. Close to the beach (just 3 short blocks to the cleanest and least crowded part of the beach). 2. Close to Collins, Washington and Ocean dining and shopping 3. Free and reliable WiFi 4. Satellite TV (hundreds of channels, unlike the 30-40 at most hotels) 5. Fairly modern. Flat screen TVs, decent bathrooms, etc. Now the bad: 1. Dirty. I may be used to 4 stars, but the cleaning crew was just weak. A peanut sat out in the hallway for several days; there was hair everywhere in the rooms, stains on hallway carpets, blankets, etc. 2. Needs touching up. Little things like caulking, paint, etc. go a long way. 3. Noisy. No carpets in rooms means you hear your neighbours walking (especially when walking with shoes). 4. Not many amenities. Older, small hotel without things like a fitness centre. 5. Short staffed. That's probably why the room phones don't work. There's really no one there to give guests the kind of attention they deserve (e.g., front desk infrequently staffed, and they are slow to respond to issues). It's really not the staff's fault, as they were all very kind and hospitable, but they could use some help. In sum, I will not stay here again, but it's definitely a good option for people who want a cheap room close to the beach. Anyone who doesn't mind staying at a Red Roof Inn or a hostel will probably love this place. I'm just a bit spoiled I guess. read more

Check in was fine staff was friendly the issue came after check in first we were directed to the wrong stairwell which was narrow and dirty our room actually was next to the opposite staircase once we made it to the room the floors and night stands were dusty and dirty the bathroom was not as pictured the tub had a brown stain in it maybe rusted but still should have been addressed prior to someone checking in the tv did not work when we decided to use the phone to ask for assistance the phone didn't work either the air conditioning unit barely kicked out anything at all in the description it states walls are sound proof not at all we heard it all we asked to cancel our remaining reservation after the initial night cause we would be charged for the first night also the room had some mildew odor lingering when checking out the next morning the person had no idea of how to perform a proper checkout I had to cancel my uber since he was waiting and was charged for the cancellation she called someone on a phone they had to come from there room or home to assist with the checkout once checkout finally took place we had to call a second uber to be moved to our new hotel which has been amazing this far I highly recommend no one book at this hotel unless the price is $20 and under!!! read more

When we first checked in at Harrison our was not available so we put our bags in this back room which wasn't very secure it was open like it was getting remodel but in five minutes wait the room was available. Walking in our room was very weird because my boyfriend said "this room looks janky" I said "no it's fine it's fine." Than that's when the problems started, the shower came up to my knee as it was running filling the tub up,so that was number one. They gave us a different room where we can use the shower because there were no more double beds available. This was next-door after that they thought were using two rooms so they locked me out of my first room with my belongings inside. After I move the third time to another side of the hotel the lights were flickering in the room because a fuse went out and we had two lights to work with and I had to get ready for a night event. I booked through bookit.com, 6 nights flight + hotel $700. Seemed like quite the steal. When I came here the man at the front desk was extremely pleasant. Normally there is a $50 hold + $20 early check-in fee. I was told that it was slow and that I could go into my room without either of those hassles. Free Wifi, worked for me. I was on the second floor, carrying my luggage up the stairs was a hassle but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. The room was small, I was on the second floor. The bathroom was also small, it was closed off by half of a glass so there would be water on the floor when I showered. Nothing a towel couldn't fix. I'm a towel addict and they had no issue bringing me up as many towels as I needed. They also allow you to use beach towels as long as you sign for them and they don't charge you bogus resort fees that you'll see a lot of in South Beach. The complimentary breakfast consisted of a call, every morning at around 9AM... 2 muffins, a banana and 1 orange juice, for 2 people. The complimentary welcome drinks were located at the very over-priced restaurant around the corner, for DINE-IN ONLY. Thanks, but no thanks. I prefer the cheap alcohol at the Walgreens liquor store a block away. All in all, I had amazing sleep here, felt like we had the entire hotel to ourselves. You could barely hear a pin drop. Late check-out was at 3:00PM for a $50 fee. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT RENT A CAR. We got there on a Thursday, apparently parking was $30. (which is ridiculous) we ended up returning the car after realizing there would basically be no where to park. Afterwards for the rest of the stay the parking was $10, not sure if the attendant was trying to scam us that day but don't add on the stress. Cabs are cheaper. All in all, very good stay. Close to everything that you need and want to have a good time in South Beach. Some things you'll love nearby that they may or may not tell you about: a bus from the airport that takes you 1 block from the hotel for $2.35 called the airport flyer. Big Pink, cheap..good diner food, Walgreens + their lovely cheap liquor store & CVS. read more

For the one night stay we had before our crusie, this was a good hotel. Very artsy, tile and marble everywhere. Our check in went smoothly and they were very nice - even walked us to our rooms. The room was huge - I see that others complained about the size of their room so maybe we got lucky? Our bathroom was also huge. Plenty of room for three women to get ready in. My only complaint is how LOUD the maids were in the morning! With all of the tile and marble, everything felt like it echoed - they were yelling and chatting all morning so that blew our plans of sleeping in. Also, the AC wouldn't stay on for longer than 20 minutes at a time but we weren't hot enough to get up in the middle of the night to get someone to come mess with it. When we told them as we left, they definitely seemed concerned and said they were sending someone in immediately. The tv didn't work asked the front desk he said he wouldn't be able to come to the room to fix it, the fridge had someone's old food in it and stank up the room, and there was hair all over the bathroom floor. I booked this thru a booking company, I cancelled 3 days before, when I saw the room charge show up on my account 2 days before I was scheduled to check in, I called the Hotel (the hotel was the one who submitted the charge) and the Manager told me to call the booking company (he even gave me the phone number), they would put in a request for a credit. I called the booking company who was very nice, they had me wait on the phone while they called him. He refused to issue a credit because he said that it was with the "hours" of his Policy. I called him back and he was very rude, would not let me speak and the only thing that he kept repeating was Policy, Policy, Policy. You do NOT Speak to people like he spoke to me, much less a customer. read more

I had read the reviews from previous travelers before my trip and wasn't expecting a whole lot. If you aren't in need of luxury then this will do. The room was decent size, large comfy bed, plenty of pillows. Bathroom was decent as well. A/C worked great. No issues with hot water. No elevators, but we stayed on the first floor so we we're fine. However, I did see pple struggling with their luggage to get up the narrow stairwells. No view. Free wi-fi but slow. We stayed for a week and on the 2nd day we realized our fridge didn't work so they moved us to another room down the hall. The fridge worked, but wasn't the greatest. They do provide ice, but you have to request from the front desk each time so that was a bit annoying. They did have a nice front courtyard to relax. Employees were great! Location was good as well. Beach was literally 2-3 blocks away as well as everything else so it was convenient. Only downside is all of my clothes smelled like the hotel when I got back home. Guess things could've been worse. Hotel is nothing special, too expensive for what it is. I am not a picky traveler, as long as a place is in a good location and is CLEAN I am happy. This place was musty and dingy. The first night upon arrival on the way to our room we see someone peeing right outside the door to enter the rooms, seriously??? After an exchange of words we go to our room and what a disappointment!! Oh well, we would only be here three nights. On the last night upon returning from dinner we notice that there were some insect things on our pillow then we lift the pillow and wow!! They were coming out of the pillow, an infestation!! It was disgusting we were transferred to another room, a "suite." At least it didn't have the bugs, but that's the only positive. Room did not have cable (ok, whatever) but no working AC, in miami?!?! I would give this hotel zero stars, but since I can't this star is for Kenan, he works at the front desk. He is the only positive that the hotel has, what a great guy!! He was so understanding, and tried to help us as best he could. During our stay we noticed he had to work very hard "putting out fires" all over the place -apparently we weren't the only ones with issues. Don't stay here, seriously!! I would steer clear of "boutique hotels" in Miami (in New York too) stick to the chains they have more standards. -The End read more
