We came here as a family to celebrate Christmas and we had the BEST waitress. Jordan was SPECTACULAR. I ordered the liquid love affair as my first drink. It had vodka, passion fruit, pineapple and was topped off with sparkling wine. It was so good!! It's also very strong so beware! We all shared an appetizer of the bacon slab and it had the perfect maple flavor. Another guest had the French onion soup and couldn't sing it's praises higher. I got the penne Alfredo as my main course and it was great as well. The chicken was tender and the Alfredo sauce is the best I've ever had. My brother got the ribeye with the horseradish Gorgonzola butter and gave it high compliments. To end the evening, we had the brownie with Woodford Carmel sauce and if I wasn't already so full, I would've wiped the plate clean. Great menu though slightly smaller, we opted for the filet, NY strip, fries and a bottle of Malbec to kick off our beach weekend quick trip. This is our favorite place for steak and the most wonderful shrimp cocktails! The steaks are perfect. The cocktail sauce is one of a kind. The service is always wonderful. The sides are big and enough to share. I love the brussel sprouts and bacon as a side. The shrimp cocktail sauce takes your breath away in a good way. Went on a Wednesday night and even for party of one need a reservation. They were busy, lots of groups and business getting conducted or after business entertainment. Overall ambiance, yes it feels like you're in a top notch place. Many people dressed to impress and rest to serve. Had to knock out 2 stars because of the food, which to me outshine any other aspect. They say it's the best Ceasars salad so I ordered it to start. There was some brown color on the lettuce and the dressing is bland. Then my steak came back medium, border medium well but I ordered it medium rare. I expected some red but it's more pink and gray. I was a little disappointed; maybe a score of 3/5 is being generous, but I probably will try them again, just to see if they were just having a bad night with the groups etc. read more

There was a air of excitement around the bar as Colts fans watched the game. They offer a nice selection of wine and craft beers and have a full service bar. We tried calamari and homemade chips apps. The calamari had a nice light breading, was tender and tasty. The chips were crispy. My husband savored a St Elmo's Prime Rib sandwich ($18) which came with fries. The sandwich had a generous portion of prime rib and was served with au jus for dipping... filling and delicious. I had the famous shrimp cocktail ($14) and a wedge salad ($10). The shrimp were flavorful and juicy and the spicy cocktail sauce was fantastic. The dressing on the wedge salad was fresh and the bacon was very thick cut and chewy...a great blend of fresh flavors. The quality of the food is first rate. I recommend a visit. We were surprised about what happened to us yesterday night. We were celebrating a friends bday. We ordered devour and some drinks. First of all my cup was dirty I could see someone else's lipstick eeewww. We ordered steaks because just like the waitress said "they specialized on that". My bf and love steaks and we always order medium. Mine was perfect but my bf's was over cooked . We let the waitress know and she took it back , no bid deal but we started eating and he had to wait. The manager came back with a new steak , she apologized again and even said she cooked it herself . Reveal time and the steak was over cooked again!! She apologized and took it back , we are talking about now about 30 min that we've been eating and almost done with our food. The manager brought some fried ravioli and tons of mashed potato for the wait. Finally the steak , reveal time a little over but he was so hungry that he said it was ok and ate it. We ordered the bread pudding to share for the bday and when they brought it with a candle, well it was a browny... at this point we were shocked! We told our waitress and she apologized and brought the right dessert back. I need to say that everyone was kind and they took a big amount of money out of the check but it was not a good experience. They even gave us a 25 usd gift card. We are definitely not going back there, maybe the one on keystone. read more

Been here several times in the past for dinner and always remember enjoying the food here. Today stopped by for team lunch and was not very much impressed with the food. I am not a steak person so I always stick to my fav Alfredo pasta here and trust me this afternoon it was too dry rather than creamy which is how it usually is. The toasted ravioli was a little too tough as well. The shrimp cocktail was good though (can never go wrong with St. Elmo's sauce). We also ordered the grilled salmon and it was okay. The service was slow understandably they had a house full of folks out there this afternoon for lunch hence. Our servers were nice and respectful but they did forget one of our orders which kind of derailed our business lunch for a bit since we felt it was rude for all of us to start our meal while one of our team members is still waiting for their lunch to be served. This year I booked a table for 10, but had to increase our table size to 15 at the last minute. We like a good steak house... but still aren't convinced that there is an outstanding one in Indianapolis... Harry & Izzy's (sister store to famous St. Elmo's) is a very beautiful place with good food... but our down size was slow and inattentive service. We had 6oz filet meal with salad and vegetables. Special Chicken option with French onion soup. Added a kids Mac and cheese. Dessert of cheesecake and also brownie. And a couple Flat 12 beers. Steak wasn't too bad. Chicken was good. French onion soup was delicious! And the desserts, as normal, were pretty yummy. Kids liked their Mac and cheese ok, but we've tasted better. Like I mentioned, our biggest negative was service. We were sat pretty quickly (within 10 minutes) but from the time we sat down until we got up to leave was almost 2 hours... and it was just our family (even IF the kids ate slowly, this was a long time for all of us). We were back in a corner, we were not acknowledged for quite a while, then finally able to place our order,... and it took a while... but even longer was waiting for our bill. After we ate we didn't see our server for way too long. And that's hard when you have two young kids that need to get home to bed. We will likely go back at some time... but may not take kids, Incase it is a long wait... we will anticipate this IF we return. read more

So I came to this spot spontaneously (such a me thing to do) and honestly this has got to be one of the best steaks I've ever had! Very juicy and cooked well done (it was medium rare)! Who ever cooked it did an amazing job. Quality was 5/5 Now for service, I had Drew. Very informative and knows his stuff. Highly recommend him as a server! Does not bother you every two seconds (it gets irritating for people who want to be left alone) but also knows when to come to you when needed immediately. Can someone give this man a raise? So this is probably our 10th visit, maybe 15th by now. Needless to say, we love Harry & Izzy's. The food is consistently good (I've had one bad meal here and we were not charged for it) as are the drinks and of course, the service. This evening our server was Raul and he was terrific! We ate on the patio and despite the wind, it was still a perfect dining experience. One of my most favorite things here are the dinner rolls, omg! They are so good. I love their Ahi tuna and tonight I tried the filet mignon, Oscar style and the Brussel sprouts, all just delicious! For dessert we had our usual creme brûlée and the seasonal pie which was sugar cream pie. My favorite is always the creme brûlée but they were both very good. Harry and Izzys is a "must visit" when touring Indianapolis. I recently had the prime steak burger for lunch and it's fantastic. Everything I've had here is freshly prepared and delicious. I also recommend the prime rib flatbread. They have a nice wine list and full bar. It is the priciest airport restaurant but well worth it. One suggestion I have for them is to play better music. This used to be a great place to eat! Now it's just an overpriced, just OK food, hit and miss service restaurant! I ordered the filet with Bernaise sauce. Steak was "mushy" and the sauce seemed like something out of a can! We have eaten there for years. It has definitely gone down hill. Surprised the quality has gone down this much. Our party of four each had a main, two had salads, one drink each, and a few sides. Our bill averaged over $100 each, then the waiter came to our table with the digital bill with the largest square already selected for the highest percent for a tip. I rarely do reviews, but this was such a blatant money grab from customers I felt I needed to. We won't be back. There are so many more restaurant options to choose from in Indy. The Ahi appetizer was seared beautifully and delicately cut, I forgot that I was landlocked. I opted for the beet salad (no cheese) with the added salmon for a main, the salmon serving was pricey but thankfully generously portioned. I didn't leave hungry... The chef nailed the temp on the salmon (I asked for medium). Fully cooked but completely tender, grilled lemon gave just a hint of smoky citrus to the mild fish.
