    Grilled barbecue chicken and vegetables

I heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to try it out before flying home. I actually tried the location at the Indianapolis Airport. The ambiance was chill, it's an airport but the decor is really nice. My server was nice and friendly. As for the food, I started with the fried ravioli which was delicious. The marinara sauce was really good. I had the grilled barbecue chicken and vegetables for my entree. Both were very tasty. I washed it down with a cold Stella. I will definitely try this restaurant again when I return for business. Next time I will try the downtown location. Make your reservation with confidence!

I really enjoyed my visit to Harry and Izzy's while I was in town for a conference! The rest is very conveniently located, and we were able to easily walk to the restaurant from the convention center. We had a larger group and were able to book a reservation in advance. We were seated in a private room for our meal, which was perfect with a big group. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making sure that everybody had any questions answered. I appreciate that we were given to wait staff for our group size which made things move very fast and efficiently. They have some great lunch offerings and deals to get the most out of the menu. I really liked the lunch combo with the shrimp cocktail, their homemade sauce really packs a punch! We also had a special birthday and they were able to bring out a dessert for our birthday girl, and that was a great part of the experience as well.

Note to management: the Root Beer Glazed Chicken Sandwich deserves the same wet nap treatment as wings and ribs. It's ridiculously good, but your hands will look like you wrestled the sandwich and lost. At least the airport restroom is right across the hall for the inevitable cleanup. Soooo delish.

What a surprise lunch at Harry & Izzy's!!!! So to preface this I was asked if I like shrimp cocktail....oh yes please!!! I wasn't warned that it was hot as hell and the way I eat shrimp cocktail it is one big bite. Needless to say there were tears. After the tears dried there was a smile. The best shrimp cocktail ever!!!! The amount of horseradish in the cocktail sauce is unreal. DON'T TAKE ONE BIG BITE!!!! This is your warning!!! It cleared any sinus issues I had for sure. We ordered a prime rib sandwich and the Emerald Kale Salad. The Kale salad was so full of flavor with aged manchego, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, cilantro vinaigrette, and peanut satay sauce. Highly recommend. The service was amazing by the way. Top notch for sure. The ambiance is classy, crisp and clean. The Prime Rib Sandwich looked amazing as well. So glad I went and thank you Harry & Izzy's for the most entertaining Shrimp Cocktail experience ever!!!

Harry & Izzy's is a sister restaurant to St. Elmo's. Peyton Manning is an investor and partner of the company. #18 had good taste in food because the shrimp cocktail is delicious. Spicy and sinus clearing but world famous for being so! They do have a milder version if you can't take the heat. The service was great! Our waiter was nice and very friendly and helpful. The filet sliders were tender and so good! The chips came with a really good French onion dip! I wish I had the recipe for it! The Caesar salad was fresh and the croutons were great. They were perfect and not rock hard like most restaurants. The star though is the shrimp cocktail! Chilled and delicious dipped in that spicy hot horseradish cocktail sauce. No other place can compare to it. It's made fresh daily and it's just the best!! Now, I need to go to the original St. Elmo's and try it there. Yum! One day!

1/21/26- special 2000th review!-***** Arrived and had dinner reservations at 6 pm for six people.. Staff was very attentive and professional . I went with the prime rib sandwich and asked if I could get half French fries half onion rings..(I think I ended with a whole order of onion rings).. Prime rib sandwich with the au jus and fries was very good! Thanks fellow Yelper Katherine A. for posting a review which led me to the French dip! Also got their signature shrimp cocktail..mild sauce.. Sauce was not too spicy but then I only drizzled some on top. A nice shrimp cocktail - not too big and not too small. Perfect sized appetizer. Hubby went with the New York steak.. (which they butterflied).. unfortunately, it was cooked more than requested.. One guest ordered the turkey burger, one had a salad and two had the steaks. Desserts were a brownie sundae- decent and moist- One ordered the cheesecake- one with the special bread pudding ..

My friend was in town and we decided to meet at Harry and Izzy's for lunch. Neither one of us have been there for lunch so we were not sure what to expect but after looking at the menu we decided to give it a try. Their lunch menu was not too bad and had good options as well as the regular menu. The restaurant was nice and clean and the ambiance was casual but romantic if needed. There was a bar area also and outside seating. The staff was really nice and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We had reservations but there was plenty of seating for walk-ins. We started with drinks and ordered strawberry lemon drops. I normally get salt around the rim of my drinks but forgot to ask and the drinks came with sugar around the rim. The drinks overall were pretty good but were more on the sweeter side than I would like. There were three of us and we all ordered the legacy lunch combo which comes with two sliders of your choice, soup or salad and fries or chips. I ordered the chicken sliders with a side Caesar salad and fries. The salad was great but I would have rather it had more of the leafy part of the lettuce and more croutons but overall the salad was good, the chicken sliders were really good and the bun was really soft and warm. My friend ordered the shrimp sliders with the prime rib chili and she said the chili was really good and her shrimp sliders were good. Overall it was a great place for lunch and would recommend.

In town for a convention and went there two nights in a row. No reservations? Try the bar. The four tops can be converted to six if needed. Everyone on staff is fantastic. First night, by myself: Old Fashioned Toasted Ravioli 8 oz filet with peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes. Excellently prepared and everything was delicious. Second night, part of six. I wish I could remember the waitress's name because she was awesome. 2 toasted ravioli. 2 shrimp cocktails. I ordered the Izzy Style New York Strip and I wouldn't orders it again. The steak is so good here and all this pepper and sauce isn't needed.

Harry and Izzy's is the companion restaurant to the world famous Saint Elmo's steakhouse. It features many of the same types of food, including premium aged steaks and of course, the well-known shrimp cocktail that everyone raves about at Saint Elmo's. The name of this restaurant is a nod to two best friends who owned an operated Saint Elmo's for years here in Indianapolis. there are several locations in the city, including one at the airport. You can expect the same high-quality service and attention to the culinary details at each place. Sometimes parking can be a little tricky in downtown Indianapolis, but with some preplanning and thought it shouldn't be too difficult. I would recommend trying to make a reservation prior to arriving. this restaurant is committed to being disability accessible.

I can't recommend this place enough. My group was in town for a conference and we decided to do a group lunch here. It was fantastic! The services was great, the food was top notch and it was also my birthday which they were kind enough to acknowledge. I loved have the ability to order the lunch special which gave me the opportunity to try so many things. I had such a hard time choosing so this was perfect. I was able to try their signature shrimp cocktail which was so good! VERYYYY Spicy but after the burn wears off it tastes so good! This portion size was more than enough and I was stuffed afterwards. I also highly recommend the French onion soup. This is one of the best soups I've ever tasted. I can't wait to come back to Indiana again so I can come back to this restaurant!!

Our group of 12 came in for a Monday night dinner. We were seated upstairs which is a bit more basic than the downstairs seating with its lighting and bar. Service was provided by 2 people, both attentive and polite. My old fashioned cocktails were well-crafted. The complimentary bread was buttery and flavorful. While I don't eat shrimp, I tried the famous cocktail sauce on a cracker and enjoyed the zing. I loved my wedge salad - maybe my favorite part of the meal. The prime rib sandwich is another favorite, especially for a person that doesn't want steak (or the cost of it). It came with fries. Sides are ala carte. Brussel sprouts were fantastically crispy. The sides felt somewhat unneeded though and it felt like a lot of money went to waste. Be mindful of your entrees coming with sides and that they're big for sharing. We were too stuffed for dessert - plus the bread pudding I'd have wanted took 20 minutes to prepare. If you're going to have some, this is the one to pick.

Classic local bar and restaurant historical venue downtown Indianapolis. Beautiful interior floors walls ceilings. Team work at bar with Brenda and Amanda. I had kale salad with grilled that was fresh and tasty.

Had the shrimp cocktail, and for me, it is very different than a typical shrimp cocktail. The biggie is that they use fresh horseradish to give you a super, clear your sinuses kick. I actually loved it and do agree it's a must try. I hate the Mac and cheese and sliders, and both were above average. Got the extra lobster add on for the Mac and cheese, and it was solid. Ended with their chocolate cake, which was like an entermanns devil food cake on steroids. Take that as a compliment, because I loved entermanns and this hit that spot. Served at the bar, and the service was exceptional throughout.

The hubby and I found ourselves in Indianapolis for a business trip, and when I told him where we…read morewere headed, his immediate response was, "We have to eat at St. Elmo's." So... reservations were made. Priorities, people. And let me tell you, St. Elmo's was HOPPING for a Wednesday night. We arrived early and managed to snag a spot at the bar, where we met Christy (I think that was her name -- apologies, Christy, if I butchered it!). Heavy-handed pours, great conversation, and hospitality that was every bit as warm as a Texan's. She's a doll! We were seated pretty quickly, although things got a little shaky from there. Our server was Brian, who ultimately turned out to be awesome, but we suspect he may have had approximately 47 tables. His appearances were limited, and we waited a fair bit for that initial greeting. But then... the food. The hubby ordered the infamous shrimp cocktail, which is apparently so spicy that he cried while simultaneously falling more deeply in love with it. Seriously, these were the biggest shrimp I've ever seen. He also ordered the lobster bisque. I was perfectly happy hanging out with the bread basket. And I'm almost positive there were these things in there that were basically cheese leather -- flattened cheese that somehow masqueraded as bread but was absolutely NOT bread. Whatever they were, they were the BEST thing in that basket. And they gave us, like, six of them. Six. I respect this generosity. The hubby ordered the crab-stuffed shrimp pasta and declared it "really good." Sorry, folks. That is the extent of my food journalism on that one. I ordered the chop steak. When asked how I wanted it cooked, I said medium. "Cold red center?" Um... definitely not. So I went with medium-well, which unfortunately resulted in what can only be described as a crispy chunk of meat generously slathered in Gorgonzola. For me, it was inedible and, honestly, pretty disappointing. Thankfully, we also ordered the Potatoes Romanoff. Friends. If potatoes and those mysterious cheesy leather-bread-things were the only things I'd eaten all night, I would have been completely satisfied. Those potatoes were THAT good. Brian started making more frequent appearances toward the end of the meal, and we ended up chatting about the city, getting some local pointers, and talking jazz -- which I know absolutely nothing about, but Brian? That man had a PASSION for it. And here's a fun St. Elmo's fact: apparently, people who work there... never leave. Check the back of the menu and you'll see employees with some seriously impressive tenure. Honestly, I love seeing that. So, our St. Elmo's experience was a little bit of a mixed bag -- fantastic atmosphere, a great bar experience, huge shrimp, stellar potatoes, some questionable steak decisions, and a bartender and server who made the evening memorable.

The restaurant itself is really well designed--traditional meets modern in a way that somehow works. Looking at the tiles and wall coverings individually, you might think, "Oh...interesting choice." But put it all together and it's actually quite harmonious. Design math, apparently. We started with drinks. I had one of their daiquiris, and it was perfect. I'm a whiskey girl, but after some enthusiastic pours the night before, the thought of more whiskey was a hard no. The daiquiri was light, refreshing, and tasty--sweet, but not obnoxiously sweet. And most importantly, it tasted absolutely nothing like whiskey. Mission accomplished. For starters, we ordered the Brie brûlée. I was a fan. The husband was...not. Here's how you do it: take a wedge of their freshly baked toasted bread, slather on some strawberry jam, dip that glorious situation into the pistachio-dusted Brie brûlée, eat, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. I eventually had to intervene with myself. I ordered the beet and peach salad without the beets because, well...gross. The peaches could have been a little riper, but the salad was still really good. Nicely dressed, with candied pumpkin seeds and some kind of soft herbed cheese that pulled everything together. Very tasty, and thankfully no beets were harmed in the making of my dinner. Then came the meatballs. I have never in my life had meatballs that tasted like these, and I mean that as a very good thing. They were herbaceous, tender, with just a hint of sweetness. And somehow, they kept getting better as we ate them. Especially the ones at the bottom, sitting in all that sauce. DO NOT PASS THESE UP. The husband ordered the prime rib, which he rated an 8 out of 10. High praise, friends. This man does not hand out 8s like participation trophies. Service was great, the food was genuinely enjoyable, and the whole experience was exactly what we wanted on our last night in Indy.

But again, not as attentive getting us menus when we first got there, filling or water glasses, or getting us our check after dessert. The food however was outstanding overall. The wedge and ceasar salads were great while the lobster bisque and wagu meatballs were good but not the best we've ever had. In the other hand, the 6 Oz filets were womdefut, cooked as we asked, and extremely flavorful. We would get these again! And the 3 desserts on the Devour Downtown menu we all excellent as well. For the $60 pp Devour Indy experience, overall it was excellent. If he service was more punctual without lukks between courses, it would have been great, too. And uet the restaurant did not seem to be that jammed on a Tuesday night to have uneven service.
