Expect to see some classy, 1920's esque, Jazz Age-like decor upon your entry into this fine dining restaurant. Our server, Patrick, was probably one of the most attentive and engaging servers that I have ever experienced. We had a party of four including one child, and he made sure to be fun and accommodating to the child's needs while also making sure that we were well attended. For example, he helped serve slices of the pizza (from the kid's menu) for the child (we were also surprised to notice the large portion for the pizza - it was a whole pizza!)). We ordered the Halibut (which isn't on the menu but was recommended to us by Patrick), the 14 oz Ribeye, and the 18 oz "Cowboy) bone ribeye. The ribeye was served at a perfect medium-rare and the halibut was amazing. I would also recommend the bread pudding dessert as it is absolutely flavorful and delicious. We will definitely be back here, should we be in the Indy area again. read more

Excellent service and environment. Our sever Leslie was amazing and made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. She went above and beyond. The food was also generous in size, and delicious. Worth it and highly recommended. read more

I had the Beef tacos (not on menu) which had queso, red cabbage(?), cilantro, avocado, red sauce and pico. EXCELLENTE!!! Liza provided great advice and fantastic service. Perfect Friday date-night with wife of 29 years. After a Liquid Love Affair I am headed back to the hotel :) read more

Harry & Izzy's - Steakhouses Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

A group of five of us from Sarasota came to Indianapolis for the wedding of two of our friends. Upon recommendation, we gave Harry and Izzys a try for lunch. Everything was perfect. The ambience is terrific, complementing the story of the establishment that the server told upon our request. Not only did she explain the history of the place, our server was attentive and helpful throughout our meal. She had many good suggestions and recommendations. The world famous shrimp cocktail is famous for a reason. It will definitely clear your sinuses, and is well worth the $18. Linse ordered the Tuscan pizza, which was delicious. Even more delicious was the smoked salmon spinach salad that I ordered. It was quite possibly the best salmon I have ever tasted, and there was plenty of it on the salad. Hi also ordered a meatball slider. It was spicy and very tasty. The selection of beers and wine and cocktails is very good. I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. My only regret is that I couldn't go back for dinner, as we were only in town for a day. read more

Harry & Izzy's - From Sarasota Florida for the shrimp cocktail - Steakhouses Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

One of colleague recommended me to visit here for shrimp cocktails and steak. When I arrived, even if it was monday, the place was full. We ordered world famous shrimp cocktails and steak. Shrimp cocktail was something. I do not know why, but even after that feeling you have when you eat the sauce, you want to eat it again. Also, the steak was ok. they cooked it perfect to my style, but type of the steak was not my style. I will try different steak when i visit again. read more

Excellent food and service! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and ensured my experience was exceptional! Relaxing environment!

Nice atmosphere. Good shrimp cocktail Nice salad. Terrible filet beef ! Poor quality. No flavor

Our day after Christmas tradition to ourselves. We sit in the bar and watch the people. The service is ALWAYS top notch. Split the shrimp cocktail and garbage salad then each order an entree. This year I opted for the scallops thanks to another Yelp review. Buttery/ sweet and savory. for my side I went with the Green beans. I now am wondering if they saute their green beans in a little pan of magic as I have NEVER had a better side of beans. Thank you Harry and Izzy for another perfect meal. read more

Harry & Izzy's - Scallops with a side of green beans. I can not put into words how delicious. There were so many scallops I actually had to leave two. - Steakhouses Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

Heard of this place on my last visit to Indy. Finally was able to book a reservation 3 weeks ahead of time. Ordered a medium bone in ribeye steak. Wasn't disappointed. Lots of flavor, not over seasoned, very tender and moist. One of the best steak I have had in years. I thought it was better than the regular ribeye steak on the menu ( tried a piece from the same party who also ordered steak). The bread pudding with ice cream was an excellent ending to a great meal. One order was big enough to be shared amongst 4 people. Great restaurant if you're in town and able to make reservations ahead of time. I know I will be back for more. Thanks Jay for a great dining experience. read more

Megan is the best ! We met her last week before our game the following day. When our group can come back again and enjoy some drinks with her serving us, we will! Excellent food and service. Great recommendations. And Megan rocks ! read more

I went to the location on 82nd street to celebrate the New Year. Everything started out well, but quickly went down hill. This has to be by far one of the worst experiences in my life. We only saw our server probably twice during the duration for our meal. I understand that we are not the typical customer we are a bit younger than the clientele that we had noticed there. We had to continually had to ask for our refills and were unattended for most of the night. The server even passed us off to another server that only focused on other tables. I have never felt so discriminated against. At the end the meal we wanted to order desserts, as I was looking at my choices the hostess comes up to me and says "Are you done?, because we don't have many of those." When I informed her that we were planning on getting dessert, she simply rolled her eyes turned around and walked away. This was my first and last experience with this restaurant, discrimination is real and it still exists. I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this experience to make sure nobody else has to go through what I went through. I spent over a $100 on our meals, I've gotten better service at McDonalds. I was really looking forward to this night only to be disappointed by the experience. NEVER AGAIN! read more

This restaurant is beautiful. Our server was great. Unfortunately the food was not good. The brussels sprouts were swimming in balsamic. The steaks were low quality. The onion rings came out cold. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated for our reservation even though half of the tables were empty. I have no idea why people recommend this place. read more

We ate at the airport location this morning on our way out for Christmas vacation. It was absolutely the worst food and service we have ever encountered. Please, close this location until you are finished with the renovation. The breakfast burritos-NASTY.the sausage in it was at least 2-3 days old. No cheese......Disgusting read more

Have you ever heard of love at first bite? I happened across a description of their shrimp cocktails, and a message daring me to try it. I almost never order shrimp cocktail because the bland, ketchupy sauces never interest me. However, these were supposed to be loaded with freshly grated horseradish and meant to pack a punch. Sounded like a cocktail right up my alley. One bite... and they brought tears to my eyes... literally! They were so perfect that I immediately ordered another one. One delicious little filet slider capped off the meal and I was incredibly satisfied. The shrimp cocktail is not for the faint of heart, but get it IF YOU DARE! read more

Slamming!!! Their famous shrimp cocktail was good, but it's just shrimp cocktail. It's famous for the reason of no idea??? Horseradish was fresh n had a great kick! Mini Bone in Filets, with gorgonzola butter was killer!!! (First time to see that on any menu)! Spicy meatballs, with peppers onions in marinara where AWESOME!!! I asked for bread to soak up the remnants! read more

Arrived to Indy on a late flight and called ahead to see if I could be seated if I arrived just before closing. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Even late night, my meal was extraordinary and the wait staff was engaged and attentive. My steak was perfect and the entire meal was worth coming back for. I felt like a jerk for showing up 15 min before closing, but the staff treated me like anything but. Love this place so much! read more

overprice and over rated. service was medicore. as any restaurant you cant rest on what you use to be and i emphasize the past.

Absolutely the best shrimp cocktail that I have ever had in my life and I am a shrimp fiend! They say it is and they really mean it. The food was wonderful! read more

Beware of the racist bartender Justin and rude hostesses! They speak to people of color with disdain as if the money does not spend the same. It's okay to favor the regulars but there is a complete difference how they treat people. They are only getting 1 star because the food is actually good and the waitresses are friendly but we won't come here again. Spoke and Steele has more friendlier staff and better food straight farm to table. read more

This iconic dine in restaurant and bar has excellent service and super special meals that include appetizer salad and steak.

The drinks are really strong so 1 and you are good, I'm a drinker so trust me. The service is good. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because my steak was over cooked, this is not a huge issue. The issue is that the wait staff took it to the back, cut it open and brought it back out to me and tried to convince me it was medium rare when it was medium well. I ordered medium rare so it should have been pink/red throughout. read more

We had our book club event here recently. Nothing but top rate service and food. The cod I had was perfection. The blackened version was not too spicy but cooked wonderfully. I will order again. I loved that they were checking on us constantly and filled up our water over the course of the evening. We all had wine/cocktails and they were just brought out timely...not pushy but when we needed. Salad and rolls - again, perfect. The steaks that the husband ordered was in his words 'awesome'. We had to stay longer than expected due to snowstorm, but the waitress was accommodating and very nice about us bringing in gifts and our dessert. Thank you for a great evening!!! (already thinking about having the cod soon!) read more

We went for our anniversary. Wow!! Best steak we ever had! We had the ribeye with crabmeat and bearnaise. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! Service was impeccable, busy Saturday night but functioned like a machine! Anthony, our amazing server recommended we get different side dishes because they are large enough to share. He was spot on! We shared mushrooms and onion rings. I didn't care for the onion rings. I guess I thought they would be the thick rings. They were stringy. My husband enjoyed them. We also got the famous St. Elmo shrimp. Sooooo good! Building was beautiful, barhrooms were clean. Great time! Can't wait until we go again. I was to try the prime rib pizza. read more

My kind of spot upscale so elegant the atmosphere is lovely and it's with what you spend since we moved here from the south it's hard to find good food most places are so bland here!! No seasoning I LOVE IT HERE read more

I'm only giving 4 stars as the famous shrimp cocktail is different. It used to be bigger shrimp that propped over the side of the cup with the famous cocktail sauce in the center. Now it's smaller shrimp piled IN the cup with the sauce on top. So it's super extra hot because u can't dip it yourself. So we had to scrape the sauce off the shrimp. However the beef sliders were excellent. Yes I would go back for the sliders & fries during HH. Get there early forHH as the bar is packed, service slow. If u get a Bloody Mary, ask for a side of that horseradish, Worcester & extra lime to doctor it up good. read more

cold steaks and horrible service. not worth half the money. had our wine with dessert it was so late. no silverware or water. hard pass

Traveled to Indy for a conference and needed a solid place to take customer out to eat. Elmo's was booked and heard this place was just as good and under the same ownership. I actually liked the atmosphere better as it is brighter and more updated than Elmo's. Shrimp cocktail was amazing, same as Elmo's. Salads and steaks came out perfectly prepared and the service was great. I was so impressed I went back to back nights with different customers. read more

My husband and I had a reservation last night for our One Year Anniversary. It was my husbands first time and I was very excited bc I haven't been for a few years now. Our server was Allie and she was really nice when she greeted us, but you could tell she was pretty busy. After about an hour, things died down and we didn't see her for almost 30 mins. My husband had ordered a drink and I stopped another staff asking if he could find our server or at least get my husbands drink bc it had been so long. Along with the drink delay, we waited over an hour for our dinner. When Allie did come back she apologized, laughed, and said there were 4 needy guys outside taking her attention. We finally received our food that was subpar and Allie did not check on us until we were done. She originally told us we would receive dessert for our Anniversary, but at that point we were ready to go. As we were leaving Allie was still hanging out with the same 4 "needy" guys that kept taking her attention. It was such a disappointing experience, especially on our Anniversary. read more

AMAZING STEAKHOUSE!!!! The service is top notch! Our waiter was phenomenal! He was very quick and polite. Regarding the food, appetizers came out very soon after we ordered and were very tasty. The steaks were very good, although I would have preferred mine a bit warmer. The cheesecake was very good as well!I recommend getting it with the raspberry purée. They also have good kid options. This was the perfect spot to stop for our road trip to Chicago! read more

I've been here before and have had both excellent and 'meh' experiences with steaks. I decided to try something new so I ordered the salmon with the quinoa and kale side salad. The quinoa salad was delicious and the salmon was good. My husband got a steak which he reports was good, not great. I like that Harry and Izzys is more casual than St Elmo's but in my experience St Elmo's is more consistent on service and food quality. I would recommend Harry and Izzys if you are looking for a nice restaurant with a variety of entrees from salads to sandwiches to steaks. However if you are looking for a nice steak, I would head over to St Elmo's. read more

dat smoked salmon appetizer...i still think about it sometimes... it was super savory, creamy, not rlly that salty as most would expect, and came with toasted baguette slices. basically the smoked salmon was a spread more than anything. the capers that came with it gave the dish an extra pop of flavor. also ordered the tuscan pizza, which turned out to be pretty good as well (: read more

We loved our experience here. Food is great obviously- but the service is exceptional. They were very accommodating to us. They were handicap friendly AND very helpful with food allergies we had in our party. They took both so serious and were so kind and helpful. Tony was our waiter (I would definitely come back and ask for him specifically)! 10/10. We'll be back (Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) PS Shrimp cocktail is spicy, use a lemon! read more

Great upscale steak house. We had a private dining room and a limited menu for our group, but still nice choices. We started with their shrimp cocktail, wow! Along with ravioli. Mix great food with a nice wine list, good cocktails and a private bourbon collection and you have the makings of a great night out. read more

Whenever we're in the Indianapolis area we stop here. It's our favorite restaurant in the area. I love that you can get St elmos iconic shrimp, without having to go down town.
