I would give 10 stars if it were possible. I initially went to USC as an ortho patient, to correct an uncomfortable bite exacerbated by invisalign. The student would recommend one thing, yet I felt she didn't quite understand what I was communicating. The head of the dept., Dr. Aronowitz, would come over, hear her recommendation, then ask me a few questions. WOW! He would paraphrase what he understood from me, clarifying exactly what I was unable to properly express. Long story short, I transferred to his private practice. Using his upper teeth retainer and my own temporary nightguard for the lower, my bite has not been this comfortable for decades! I'm not exaggerating. Based on a former orthodontist from childhood, I'd suffered with TMJ for nearly 50 years. USC had suggested either major jaw surgery or to simply leave it alone. Because Dr. Aronowitz truly listened to my concerns, with his patience and ortho strategies, my TMJ disappeared. My jaw found it's comfort level and basically healed itself! His two assistants, LeShon and Marcie are also true professionals, very sweet and excellent at what they do. Needless to say, while he has a strong kid practice, this older adult is truly, truly grateful to have found such an amazing orthodontist and wonderful human being to help me. My daughter has been a patient of Dr Aronowitz's office for awhile now. We began the orthodontic journey early as recommended by her dentist. She's gone from expander to retainer to potentially needing braces in the future (tbd). The staff are always friendly and most importantly, on time. This is rare in Los Angeles. When you have to go to the orthodontist every month for a ten minute retainer check it can be frustrating to wait for your time. This office is super efficient and really get you in and out. Parking is pricey, but super convenient valet downstairs. And since you're in and out you don't end up spending a small fortune! read more

I so wish I had been the first one to say "Run, don't walk" to Dr. Aronowitz. I not only ran, I drove 270 miles one way for my appointments.... THAT'S how much I love him! Background.... I'm in my 50's, had braces when I was a kid but never wore my bottom retainer, so my bottom teeth became very crooked, over crowded, with one tooth being pushed behind the others. Fast forward to now.... I went to three orthodontists in Vegas, where I now live. All three said I needed top and bottom braces for approx. 15 months; one wanted to pull teeth, and two said I should get jaw surgery. At my age I wasn't willing to go that route. Fast forward again... I mailed Dr. Aronowitz my x-rays and photos that I got from the other doctors, waited only about 2 days before he personally called me, asked me what "I" wanted; I told him what I DIDN'T want (which was everything the other doctor's told me I needed); Dr. A told me he thought the other treatment plans were overkill to which I agreed. I knew before I even hung up the phone that I was going to drive to L.A. and become Dr. Aronowitz's patient. And that's exactly what I did. Fast forward again to ten weeks later: My teeth are perfection! Dr. Aronowitz is fantastic, honest, explains everything in detail, his staff is great. Oh boy! You don't even want to know what my teeth looked like before Dr. Aronowitz! My case my very difficult, I didn't just have crooked teeth, I had an under bite and crooked teeth, that means my lower jaw/teeth stuck out further than my upper jaw! I looked like a cave man! I didn't want to go through the very painful and expensive jaw surgery so I began to explore my orthodontic options. After seeing many orthos I finally decided on Dr. Aronowitz and couldn't be happier today! He worked very closely with my oral surgeon when developing my treatment plan (the surgeon implanted anchors into the back of my jaw which Dr. A then used to pull my bottom teeth back) and transformed my smile. He is extremely gentle and precise. He works on your teeth like a work of art! Even with all my crying and blubbering he remained very caring, which I appreciated so much bc it was such an emotional process for me. I must also say that for adults his office is great bc there are private rooms for each patient, the last thing I wanted was to cry in front of a 12 year old in the chair next to me! Today, I get constant compliments on my teeth and smile more than ever, seriously! I use to never smile in photos, now I love, love, love my teeth! I brought in my then 12 year old son for a consultation with Dr. Aronowitz. He had two sets of teeth growing on the upper gum, an extreme overbite, and lowering self esteem due to his teeth. Dr. Aronowitz was not only compassionate during our visit he sent home a follow up letter regarding his case!! This was unexpected, and very eye opening. When you have a professional admit to it being a learning case, and excited to work on his mouth, I knew he was the right fit for us. My son has had an expander, braces, and now a retainer. Wow! I'm nearing the end of my treatment and I'm so glad I chose Dr. Aronowitz as my orthodontist. His staff worked with my dental insurance and my flexible spending account, making the most of my company benefits. It involved faxing claims and receipts. I'm especially thankful for that. My case involved removing 4 teeth, moving the remaining teeth, then replacing the teeth with implants/crowns. I completed my orthodontic treatment with Dr. Aronowitz several years ago. I now visit the office annually for maintenance. Dr. Aronowitz was my third opinion. My case was not severe but the first two orthodontists I saw recommended surgery followed by braces. The enamel on the back of my top front teeth was being worn down by the bottom teeth. The top teeth needed to move forward to a more normal position so there would be more clearance between top and bottom front teeth. Dr. Aronowitz took care of the issue using retainers. He said surgery was absolutely not necessary. It took some discipline on my part to wear the retainer AT ALL TIMES, but the end result is even better than I anticipated. My top front teeth are moved forward and the entire row is now aligned properly. Also my jaw moved forward a few millimeters to a more relaxed position. This type of orthodontic practice is a lost art. I am lucky to have found Dr. A at the recommendation of my dentist. In slightly over a year I have gone from overcrowded teeth to a beautiful straight smile while retaining the dignity of an adult who could not bear to wear braces by having removable appliances. Had to set up a yelp account just to share this! Over the last year and a half, I've had some dental work done and found my bite had changed significantly. Went to my dentist, and was referred to an orthodontist who, after xrays and molds, suggested a 2-year stint of braces to correct my bite. I was really vacillating, and decided I should get a second opinion before I began something so extensive. After changing dentists, however, I felt as though I wasn't going to get an honest opinion that contradicted anyone in town. At that point I decided to seek out a second opinion out-of-town, with the expectation that they would likely say I needed braces (but at least then I would feel better about beginning treatment). I am so glad I found Dr. Aronowitz. He was so much more diligent than I ever expected (he had diagnosed me before ever seeing a check!)! After talking with me and reviewing my records and xrays, he suggested that the change in my bite was likely due to the dental work I'd had done over the last couple of years, and could be better remedied without braces by re-doing a couple of crowns. I'm off to see a prosthodontist, and I can't thank Dr. Aronowitz enough! If it hadn't been for him, I'd have undertaken two years of unnecessary treatment, time consuming and costly, all for the inability to access an unbiased second opinion. I was born with a Cleft Palate. When I turned 8 I started seeing Dr. Aronowitz because I had basically no straight teeth (actually, I had basically no teeth at all), due to the cleft. I am 22 now, and today was my final day with Dr. Aronowitz. Looking back at the past 14 years I always left the office with the feeling that I was taken care of. With a cleft palate patient there are hundreds of obstacles, and Dr. Aronowitz and his team overcame each one, every single visit. I am beyond grateful that I stepped into his office with my mom and dad 14 years ago, for I stepped out a new person. 19 years ago, Dr. Aranowitz put retainers on me to straighten the teeth that nobody thought I could straighten with just retainers. His exact words were, "if you wear them religiously, they will straighten your teeth." And in 3 months, my teeth were absolutely perfect! Been wearing the same retainers ever since. There are so many orthodontists out there that will just sell everyone the same treatment if they need it or not. Dr Aronowitz is not that kind of orthodontist. Not only is he great with kids and adults alike but he is honest and stands behind his work. Short version - run, dont walk, to Dr Aronowitz if you're looking for an orthodontist. Long version - I'm a guy in my 40's with quite a few wonky teeth. I finally decided to go about getting them straightened because I was having difficulty cleaning them properly and developed gum issues. My wife had done Invisalign and I was hoping that would work but unfortunately my teeth were too crooked for it to work. Saw a highly recommended, very good orthodontist who's plan was to go with regular metal braces....and pull 4 teeth to make room for the necessary movement! Not the news I wanted to hear but seemingly, not an uncommon treatment. Anyway, enough of the scary, depressing stuff - let's get to Dr Aronowitz. Found his reviews on Yelp, when researching someone to go to for a second opinion. Along with all the usual methods, Dr Aronowitz also works with something called a Crozat Appliance. Instead of having to pull 4 teeth and wear metal braces 24/7 for 2 years, I'm now spending those two years with no teeth pulled and wearing Crozat appliances top and bottom - they're a type of removable brace, so I can take them off for meals and cleaning. I've had them for 6 months so far and it's totally cool how much my teeth have moved. Once a month I go in for an adjustment and I actually look forward to it because I get a kick out of seeing how much Dr A obviously loves his work. read more

Imagine a successful broadcast journalist at the age of 40 decides to have her teeth straightened. She's sent to a Beverly Hills Orthodontist not knowing what to expect (and thinking it's too late for improvement). Wow!! Dr. A is a miracle worker. In a ridiculously short amount of time, he gave me a beautiful, wide smile for the first time in my life. I didn't even require permanent braces---just removable appliances that I wore at night time. What I like most about this practice is the privacy and the one on one care that Dr. Aronowitz and his staff provide. So many dental practices are crowded and the rooms accommodate lots of people. Here you really feel like you are the center of Dr. A's attention when he is with you. He is very low key, patient, and kind. It is like a boutique dental spa! I have taken a friend here (she does not drive) for a few months and she always comes out of the office smiling, and her smile is improving greatly with the orthodontic care that Dr. A. provides. My friend is a young adult and often 'forgets' to change her bands and Dr. A is warm and encouraging, never judgmental or condescending, for her to get her treatment on track. I have to make a special note that the staff here is phenomenally friendly and accommodating. We are always greeted cheerfully, and when we have had to change appointments or call for information, the staff has been extremely gracious. Going to the orthodontist is not supposed to be fun...but I have to say I really look forward to visiting Dr. A's office! read more

I'm making a yelp account just to write this review. That's how strongly I feel about Dr. A. The short story: he's an incredible orthodontist, and I cannot recommend him enough. The long story: I first came to Dr. Aronowitz 13 or 14 years ago, in middle school. My mouth was a mess. Seriously. I looked like some kind of sabre-toothed rottweiler. Stuff was like backwards in there. Anyway, he fixed the crap out of my teeth. He's a doctor, yes, but what he does is more art than medicine. The confidence I got once those braces came off literally changed my life. Until the end of college, that is. Now I'm sure we're all aware that teenagers are idiots, so I know nobody will fault Dr. Aronowitz's work when I say that--against his instructions--I stopped wearing my retainer and my teeth began to shift. Let me stress again that it was entirely my own fault. I'm a royal dumbass. It got to the point where last year I decided to come back in and fix them up again. I mention all of this, because it leads to the real core of my recommendation. Back in the day, I always liked Dr. Aronowitz. He was kind, gentle, and he made me feel like I was in good hands. I trusted him. But coming back to him now as an adult, I understand so much more why he's not just a nice guy, but a great orthodontist. First and foremost, his estimate for how long this was going to take was dead on. As a 26 year old walking around wearing a retainer all day, that was huge. And he was upfront and accurate about the total cost. As a 26 year old paying for this himself, that was also huge. The fact that he was able to get it done for much less than I was expecting when I walked in was an added bonus. He's also great at explaining to me exactly what he's doing every step of the way. I always understood exactly why he was making each adjustment, and even more, what that adjustment accomplished in relation to our overall tooth-shifting goals. Back in middle school, I trusted Dr. Aronowitz because he seemed like a trustworthy guy. Now I trust him because I know what he's doing, and it all makes sense. I should also mention that his entire staff is lovely. There are people there I remember from when I first came to see him all those years ago. I think it says a lot about Dr. A that he's been working with the same people every day for a decade and a half. You've got to be a genuinely good dude to keep that going. And a genuinely good doctor. Go see Dr. Aronowitz. I can't imagine what a better orthodontist would be. read more

I wore braces as a child and faithfully wore my retainer for years. Then I stopped. For about 3 years I watched my once straight teeth become crooked. But by now, I was in my early 30's with children and career. The thought of braces again or even the quote unquote "invisible braces" horrified me. I did a lot of research and visited a few orthodontists, but didn't like what any of them proposed. When I went to see Dr. Aronowitz he introduced a brand new idea to me that I still refer to as "adult removable braces". OMG! I could live with this!! The appliance looks like a retainer, but Dr. Aronowitz adjusted it every visit to straighten my teeth! I wore it faithfully most of the time, but if I really needed to look "normal" at an event or a presentation...I could remove it! Absolute genius!!! My teeth were (and still are!) beautiful once again. Dr. Aronowitz is the BEST!!! I'm totally indebted to him! Yes, I now wear my retainer every night (I actually can't sleep well without it!) and still enjoy my perfectly straight and beautiful teeth. Not only is Dr. Aronowitz a genius...he is so kind, thoughtful, calming, and professional. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this amazing orthodontist. I recommend him so highly. BTW....he also did the braces for both of my children with fabulous results. One of them was a particularly difficult mouth. Now my kids are in their 20's with beautiful smiles. I've warned them about being diligent about wearing their retainers, but you you know how kids are! After I posted this yelp review, I received a private message from Dr. Aronowitz. He admitted that my results were horrific, but said that the two doctors involved in my treatment, my orthodontist and the surgeon who did my surgery, were at fault. When I saw him in Los Angeles he knew that I asked him for his expert opinion about my orthodontic treatment that I already had, and he agreed to write an unbiased evaluation report about it . After I saw him, and he already knew that part of the roots of my lower incisors were in the gum, he still offered a six month, $6,000 treatment plan to align my lower teeth. He completely ignored the purpose of my visit, and did not mention that he was going to write an opinion on my treatment. I told Dr Aronowitz that my periodontist and another orthodontist told me that several teeth were close to falling out and I could not seek further orthodontic treatment. He told me that if the periodontist predicted multiple tooth loss, I might have a strong legal case and he'd be one of my experts. I sent the periodontal report to him, and he never responded ever again. I emailed him several times for an opinion letter, and he ignored me completely. I saw on his website that he's a clinical professor of orthodontics at USC, and my orthodontist was a professor in the Bay Area. Under these cases, it would be very unlikely that they don't know each other. The things he told me in his private message were said way after my statute of limitations expired, so there is absolutely no point in him saying that to me now. Thank you for completely ruining my case, Dr Aronowitz!!!! read more

Dr. Aronowitz is an exceptional orthodontist and a compassionate human being. We learned the caliber of the doctor, after being faced with a difficult situation, when a local orthodontist delivered sub standard treatment to our daughter. After consulting with a number of qualified orthodontists in LA and Orange County, we decided to make the trip to see Dr. Aronowitz in Beverly Hills, and we are glad we did. He proved to be an expert in his field and the costs were very reasonable. It was well worth the drive from Irvine, and Dr. Aronowitz and his staff always accomodated our schedule. He also took the time to be present when the oral surgeon performed his work. Fortunately, Dr Aronowitz's work is now reflected in the beautiful smile that our daughter has.
