We had dinner about 9pm. The restaurant has a family feel ambiance with latin music playing softly in the background. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive and polite. I started off with a mango magarita slushy which tasted great and decorated beautifully. Our appetizer was nachos supreme which was delicious. My main entrée was a quesadilla which was huge. Friendly, clean, quick, and flavorful--that's Robles in a nutshell, or maybe in a tortilla, which seems more fitting. The whole place runs like somebody's mama is standing in the back with a wooden spoon making sure everybody behaves. The hostess and the three different folks who wandered by our table all had smiles big enough to convince you they actually meant 'em, and they moved with the kind of purpose you usually only see when the preacher says "one more hymn" and everybody knows he's lying. The food? Seasoned just right and hot enough to make you sit up straight and remember your manners. It hit the table so fast I'm convinced they started cooking it when we pulled into the parking lot. The décor looked like somebody cared--special ordered, thoughtful, and not one inch of it threatening to slip into that baroque "my aunt went to Tijuana once" look some places can't resist. But the real star was the cleanliness. Floors, tables, corners--everything shining like a Marine's Sunday shoes. Wanted to try out a new spot in town so we visited Robles Kitchen and enjoyed ourselves! We had chips and salsa, the chips were very good and crunchy. The salsa was a bit heavy on the tomato, more kin to pizza sauce. We still ate plenty of it though :) Two folks at the table had their Quesabirria tacos - very very good. Hot and fresh and the consume was the perfect flavor. A couple burritos were ordered too, they were pretty standard and good food. Very generous portions for those! We will probably stick to our tried and true Mexican favorite in the family, but I'm glad we got to try a new spot and hope this will become a regular spot for others!! read more

Great spot for lunch! The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was clean with a pleasant ambience. My daughter-in-law and I went for lunch on a Sunday. She had the chicken quesadilla, and I had the chicken chimichanga (fried) with beans and rice. The portions were generous for lunch and very reasonably priced--just $7.25 for the quesadilla and $9.99 for the chimichanga. The restaurant offers free off-street parking and is handicap accessible. Seating includes both booths and tables, and the space is large enough to accommodate a big party. While we didn't order alcohol, it looks like they have a full bar available. The complimentary chips and salsa were excellent. Our only minor complaint was that our server was a bit slow, but otherwise, everything was super fresh, hot, and delicious. The service was so good !!! Everyone was so attentive to make sure we had everything we wanted . The food was delicious . We had an appetizer of empanadas. It came with one chicken and one beef. They were definitely homemade and were extremely tasty. For dinner we had Carnitas. They were excellent great taste definitely not too fatty. It was a lovely experience. We arrived around 6:00 PM on a Saturday in November. We had reservations for a group of 12. It wasn't busy at the time but some more larger tables came in later. There were still available tables when we left around 8:00 PM. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. All the staff were friendly, and the service was good. We only had one blip where a meal went missing but they corrected it fairly quickly. We ordered lots of different food, and everything was fresh and tasty. The only warning I will give is that if you order off the lunch menu at dinner there is a $3 up-charge. We had asked if we could order off the lunch menu, and the waitress said yes, all day, but didn't mention anything about a fee. I had ordered the lunch enchiladas which was the same as dinner except one less enchilada. I ended up paying the same price for two as I would have for three. Other than that, we all enjoyed our food and would return. read more

Our first time at this place. My husband had the Quesadilla Texana (grilled chicken, steak and shrimp with onions, peppers, and tomatoes, served with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guacamole.) He enjoyed it very much! I had the Super Quesadilla (chicken which I chose or shredded beef and refried beans served with lettuce tomato, sour cream and guacamole). I enjoyed it very much. I took my mother, sister and nephew out for lunch. This restaurant is located in the Eagle Village shopping center, across from Sweet Frog, Crimson Coward and MWU. As you walked in, the restaurant is very clean with hand crafted chairs and tables. It has a full bar on the left and a wide selection of seating to accommodate your party. We ordered 9 items: 1) Wings 2) Supreme Nachos 3) Chorizo Cheese Dip 4) Two Taco Platter 5) Taco and Enchilada Platter 6) Garlic Butter Shrimp 7) Paella 8) BBQ Sliders 9) Apple Churros. The buffalo wings are mediocre, dry and possibly overcooked. The chorizo cheese dip was smooth, silky, thick and very good. The bbq sliders were delicious and served with a small basket of crispy fries. The two platters with tacos and enchiladas served with refried beans and fluffy rice. The garlic butter platter served with refried beans, rice, shredded lettuce, sour cream and 3 hot tortillas wrapped in foil. Once all ingredients were incorporated, it was a very tasty bite. As the paella arrived to the table, I was a little surprised that it was soupy and served in a bowl. It was packed with flavor from the mussels, chicken and chorizo but almost every bite had dry bay leaves on my tongue. The broth was filled with richness though. The highlights of our trip were the supreme nacho, chorizo cheese dip and apple churros. The nacho were on point, it's a must get item. Every bite was worth it. The apple churros was different and another must get item. Our server Hector was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I will make another visit to try other items on their menu. read more

Service was good. We were sat quickly and waitress was friendly and professional. Chips and salsa were very mild. No heat whatsoever I had chicken enchiladas and my wife had the carnitas plate. Neither were bad but there was just no seasoning on any of the meat. The enchilada green sauce was good. I don't know why I expect much from VA Mexican restaurants but was hoping this was different. Our food was delicious. The portions were large, so we brought food home for another meal later. My husband got the Robles burger, which came with fries. The hamburger was huge. It looked like it was at least a 1.2 lb & it was really delicious with large onion rings on it, along with the other toppings. The fries were really good. They were the batter-dipped type fries that have an extra crispy surface. They were so yummy. When we arrived we were served a big bowl of homemade tortilla chips & salsa. They were very good. When we finished them, we were offered more, which we also thoroughly enjoyed. I got the Fajita Especial with steak. I received a large sizzling pan with steak, onion, pepper & tomato strips. Along with that & the accompanying tortillas there was a platter with rice, refried beans topped with cheese, lettuce, sour cream & guacamole. Everything was delicious. The steak had an amazing flavor. There was way more fajita filling than tortillas to go with. Also, they were taco-sized tortillas, rather than the 8-inch fajita size. I would recommend that the restaurant include additional tortillas or serve the fajitas with larger tortillas. For dessert, my husband had the lava cake, which was warm, gooey & delicious. I had the fried ice cream. The ice cream was delicious, as was the chocolate sauce, whipped cream & the cinnamon & sugar tortilla the ice cream was served in. The ice cream had a crispy coating on the surface. I wasn't crazy about that. It was sort of chewy, but it had no flavor. I was kind of expecting something like a toasted coconut shell or light, crispy batter on the ice cream. I scraped the topping off & enjoyed the rest of the dessert. I believe everything was homemade. The recipes were tasty, appealing & generally a step above the typical Mexican food. My husband had two mixed drinks & I had a glass of sangria. The drinks were nice. The sangria was sweeter than I expected it to be, but it was nice & fruity. We visited Robles for dinner. Two meals, three drinks & two desserts - under $75. Pretty amazing. It's tough to get a nice restaurant dinner with a bill under $100.+ Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff were all very welcoming & several different staff members checked on us to see if we were enjoying our meal & if everything was to our satisfaction. It was a very nice evening & we will definitely be visiting Robles again. read more

I'm always skeptical about trying new mexican restaurants in the area bc they all taste the same and there's nothing special. This one impressed me to say the least. My friend and I got tacos (carne asada and chicken), birria tacos, and chicken enchiladas with the salsa verde. I must say everything was really good and had good flavor. Food wise I'd give 8/10.
