This was by far the best steakhouse I've been in a long time. I didn't have to wait long for a seat. The ambience is great. My friend and I were waited on by two people. Never have I had two waiters for one table, but they surely took care of our needs. First thing I ordered was the Lychee martini. It was so good. Second thing ordered were 2 empanadas. 1 beef and the other mozzarella, tomato and basil. Both were tasty and huge. Next was the iceberg lettuce and tomatoes with blue cheese dressing salad was humongous and enough for two people. The entree was OMG, the biggest steak I've ever eaten. It was so delicious. It was prepared and seasoned well. The tomahawk steak is definitely a steak to share. A 42 oz steak that will melt in your mouth. The garlic mashed potatoes was ok. The dessert, strawberry cheesecake was great. To end the night they sent a complimentary cotton candy on a stick which was a nice sweet surprise. Food was okay. Service went from clueless to terrible. Decided to eat early 6:30. Complimentary bread and was brought to the table (thank you). At this point the waiter decided to ask my wife if she was ready to order, while she was eating her bread, she had to signal , while chewing that he should come back but he persisted, so she swallowed and ordered our meals and a bottle of wine. soon after the wine arrived , our salads came about 15 minutes later. The "wait team" again continually asked how our salads were , mostly, mid mouthful, which became awkward and uncomfortable. About the same time, they seated the table next to us. We finished our salads and waited....and waited.... for our main courses. We waited so long that the table next to us ate and paid they're bill before our main course arrived. Our steaks finally arrived with our loaded baked potato. The meal was just okay. But we were now an hour and a half into our meal. Finished our meal and a dessert. Got our complimentary cotton candy and waited.....and waited.... and waited for the bill. Exasperated we asked the first employee we saw to please get us the cheque . When the cheque came our waiter took no time to inform us that the tip was not included. "Duh.... I've never done this before.... thanks for reminding me"" I said to myself. At that point I really considered leaving no tip at all however I relented and left a tip which both expressed my displeasure but was not small by any means. The food was out of this world (had the lobster tail and the presentation and preparation was out of this world). I was in town for holiday with family and this was our choice for Christmas Eve dinner and must I say it was a GREAT choice. Prices were reasonable, for a 10.5 ounce filet it was $36 - SO good, I highly recommend. The spinach with cream and Mac and cheese were great sides. Service was impeccable, they were so attentive. My girlfriend and I celebrated her Birthday here a few nights ago and I have to tell you as a server/bartender for the last 20 years in some of Chicago's top restaurants I was super impressed with the room, the ambiance, the food and most especially by the service. We were served by two servers, however, I want to give big props to Ernesto who is a superstar in his own right. Just on top of everything with an outstanding understanding of his responsibilities, a wonderful and pleasant demeanor and attitude. We thoroughly enjoyed his presence. This was by far the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We arrived for a 7:30 reservation on 11/11. There were 14 of us. We did not get the table we requested and we were seated by the wine closet so there was constant traffic. Some of our group was older and wanted a paper menu which was a problem. By the time the menus came it was already 8:00 pm. The wine list was only on the iPad the waiter had so it also took a long time to access that. By the time the table received drinks we had been there for over an hour. Some of the martinis we ordered smelled like a dirty rag. So did the water glasses. I could not even drink my water. Another hour goes by and we finally place our order so now it's 9:00 pm. For the next hour we waited for our food so finally at 10:00 pm our food came. We all ordered NY Age steak. Some were inedible tasting like lighter fluid. 3 people did not eat. The iceberg salad was drowning in dressing as well. Complimentary deserts were brought & the cotton candy but it was so late by then no one cared. Oh snd the music was SO loud no one could talk without screaming. We finally got our bill which for a horrible dinner was way too high ($145 per person) never again. We left at 11:00 pm. Skip the hype and find a nice restaurant. read more

Wonderful steaks. The service was very professional. However, the noise level inside the restaurant was terrible, compounded by the pounding loud techno music. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT: Like all other guests we were presented with a table side display of the steaks available that evening. After some discussion, we decided on a Australian Rib Eye at a cost of approximately $100. What arrived at our table some 20 minutes later was a fat, grizzly piece of meat that bore no resemblance to the nicely marbled steak on display. We complained to one of the managers working the floor. His response was, "I'm so sorry, I'll tell the chef and the next time look for me I'll take good care of you". Apparently, they don't realize that when you leave so disappointed there is no next time. Harry's is one of many expensive restaurants in Cancun. Looks like the majority of guest are (transients) in Cancun on vacation. A high quality steak house back home would have remedied the problem right away. We had the best dinner in Playa tonight at Harrys. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and it has air conditioning. The service from Jesus and Raul was great they were both Betty attentive. Jesus explained all the cuts of meat which we selected the Austrailian rib eye which was cooked to perfection along with the garlic meshed potatoes which we shared and still couldn't finish them. This steakhouse was phenomenal! Beautiful scenery, lovely set up, wonderful service! We were visiting Playa Del Carmen and decided we wanted to try somewhere pretty upscale and nice for my birthday. I found this place on Yelp and went for it from the great reviews. It's located off of 5th ave in a shopping center on the second floor. If I had to compare it to another steakhouse I would say maybe Ruth Chris to Vic and Anthony's feel if you've been to any of those. The server was very nice and they will get you in and out but they don't rush you to pay your check if you understand what I mean. For appetizers we tried the crab cake and it was breaded and fries over a bed of cream corn. It was delicious next I had the 10oz filet because the rest of the steaks were huge and my boyfriend didn't want to share this go round. The sides are separate and can feed 3/4 people. We chose the Mac and cheese for the side and it was really good I believe they said they sprinkle Gouda cheese on it, I may be wrong because I was a little tipsy. After your meal the give you a large wheel of cotton candy which was good and warm to taste but I didn't eat because we had dessert coming for my Birthday!! The lava cake and Ice cream was so good I really have nothing bad to say about this place! I would definitely visit again when I come here. read more

I've eaten at 300+ "prime steakhouses" and trust me I couldn't tell this was prime. It ate like a choice cut from any grocery store. I finished half my "US prime" steak. If this was a prime cut I would have finished all except the fatty pieces. It wasn't close to being a butter knife texture. When I saw the meat presentation I doubted at that time if it was prime based upon the marbling that didn't exist. I ate at this resturant last night for my birthday. This restaurant was outstanding in taste and service alike. The reason for 2 stars is because I had a cake delivered to the restaurant and the manager made me pay a mandatory $500 pesos to bring it to my table. I thought this was custom, however after speaking with the owner of the bakery that made the cake, I found out she also had an argument with him about paying $500 pesos to deliver. She stated she has always delivered there with no problem so she did not pay. The manager was not happy and took it out on me instead. Seems he is upset guest dont buy bigger desserts there so he wanted to pocket more money from a tourist. Don't take advantage of tourist. While your food was outstanding , I will not be returning for the simple fact that you guys played me for $500 additional pesos on an already $3,000 peso bill!!! read more

Amazing!!! We started with drinks and they brought the bar cart over to the table and made the drink in from of us. They then showed the cuts of meat they had and provided some recommendations. We had the tomahawk for 3 people, with a side of truffle fries, vegetables and corn with cream. Delicious!! Portion wise this is perfect. Absolutely terrible experience I will say the service was good and the presentation is beautiful the first steak they brought out to my husband Was cold called them over they said they would throw it back on the grill and I said absolutely not that we want any steak they proceeded to bring us the same steak after I insisted on wanting a new one the second steak they brought 45 minutes later was warm at best and it was cooked medium rare when my husband ordered it medium to medium well my lobster risotto was also the same risotto tasted good however the lobster was chewy and over cooked we walked out of the place extremely disappointing the quality of food is definitely not worth the price!!! Fantastic steakhouse in mexico. If you're going to splurge, I would highly recommend this place! We sat at the bar and love love loved the bartender Henry and Jose as well. That really made this experience standout. They have Japanese A-5 Wagyu steak on the menu for $4000+ pesos, so I gave it a try and loved it. Def a must try once, certainly not one you want while on a diet due to so much fat marbling which give it its favour and literally melts in your mouth like butter.
