Even though they are located in the lobby, they don't do room service so I went downstairs to order to go. I tried a couple of things: - chicken caesar salad: large portion but the lettuce didn't seem fresh and the chicken was very dry - coconut shrimp: served on skewers, good flavor but greasy - banana chocolate bread pudding: gross. The more that I try to justify that this place needs to be given some slack and higher stars the more I realize, no, it doesn't. I was staying at the hotel that this restaurant is inside of for a conference. Yes it was a really big conference that made a ton of people come here. BUT this hotel was pretty much made for conferences. They have them all the time and are scheduled a *very* long time in advanced. The date for this conference was announced at the beginning of the year... but regardless moving along. The restaurant was severely understaffed. We had to wait to get seated and then the gentleman had us walk a complete lap around the restaurant before seating us at the entrance. No biggy, mistakes happen, we got a view of the whole place I joked. It took us ages to get food or drinks. It took about 30 minutes to ASK for the check after we finished our meal. I watched a huge line begin to pileup to get seated because the host wasn't there for about 15 to 20 minutes. My food was good. I had a crab salad. Not amazing but it was good! I had the "alto" malbec to drink and that was great!! Definitely recommend that wine. All in all the restaurant should have been prepared for an influx of people. The waiters should have paid attention to their guests. Food was a-okay. I would give it a solid 2.5 stars but let's round up. We decided on a different restaurant for the second day. Nice selection and range of food but disappointing execution. My turkey-portobello burger was burnt on both sides and incorrectly described as portabello mushroom on top of a turkey burger by the waiter. My friend ordered the veggie burger, is vegan and double checked that there would be no cheese on the sandwich... reassured by our waiter... and it came out with cheese. The sweet potato fries were well done, good presentation of the food in general, and slightly elevated prices for what we got (execution not factored in). read more

This was one of the worst hotel restaurant I've ever been to. - Service: Superficial. just wanted me to order most expensive item on the menu. - Food: This was course of awful food, in my opinion. 1. Fried ravioli: Dried ravioli seemed to be fried and got more dried up. I had to ask the server to take it back to kitchen and get a bowl of chilli instead. 2. Vegetarian chilli: bean stew with a little spice. Didn't come with sour cream or cheese. Dive bar chilli would be better than this. 3. Vegetarian panini: For about $15, this was a food that made me feel annoyed to just think that I would be full from eating this flavorless bread and veggie. Overall, I thought to review this restaurant and my experience because I don't want tourists to dine here by chance and think that Harry's pub is how DC restaurants are, which is not true. PS: Highly recommend to go outside of the hotel and try restaurants nearby or Dupont. Don't waste money, even if you have expense account. Not worth it. read more

It's a hotel restaurant, with all that goes into it, but it's fine. I do not understand the 1 star reviews. Really, if you don't feel like leaving the hotel, and don't mind the prices, it's a safe bet. Ate here with my family. The best reviews were for the salads; the greens looked good and were plentiful. The salmon got a good review as did the crab cake sandwich. The pork chops were fine, if meh. French fries are crispy. The beer selection is limited but adequate for what it is. This place is not fancy. This place is not gourmet. But the food didn't suck, the service was fine, and it's convenient. I'd give it four stars but the price for what you get is enough for me to bump it down one star. read more

This restaurant is located within the hotel. I ordered the crab cakes which were very good. My only complaint is dreadfully slow service. However, to their defense, our conference brought an influx of people in resulting in the kitchen getting slammed on a random weekday night. The space itself is very dark and somewhat antiquated. Harry's used to have these things called tachos. The perfect blend of tater tots and nachos. It was like an explosion in your mouth. Hit the spot after a long hard day of drinking. Well, come to find out I went there tonight and they decided to remove them from the menu. I have to come to this hotel once every year and it was pretty much the only thing I looked forward to. I have never been so disappointed in my life. Instead they suggested Brussel sprouts and onion rings. I'm not gonna lie those were still pretty good, but not unique. I probably won't ever go back here until the tachos are brought back. Well... That or mumbo sauced up chicken wings. Outstanding experience at harry's pub for dinner on April 26. Most amazing service from everyone! Very warm welcome from the host, really well-taken care of by our server, and special appreciation for the chef, who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable despite our son's severe allergies, and that were were happy with our fare. Had a weekday lunch in here while attending a convention at the Marriott. Because I was alone and the restaurant was very crowded, they wanted to seat me at the bar to which I said "okay" because I was hungry and was on a tight schedule with only an hour for lunch. However, the bar really didn't have enough room for people to eat given the size of the food plates and portions, and the fact that everybody is eating at noon. We were really jammed together so it wasn't a relaxed dining experience. I ordered some type of corn and seafood soup and a grilled shrimp appetizer. I figured this would make for a nice light lunch, however the portions of each were humongous. The bowl of soup seemed to be a foot across and there were three skewers of ginormous shrimp. I also noticed the folks on either side of me who had ordered burgers each received a super-size burger. On the one hand, this is good because the menu prices are way high as you'd expect at a hotel, so you're at least getting some value for money. On the other hand, it was really too much food to eat and I didn't even order an entree. Unfortunately, whoever is planning the menu here has gotten a bit reckless with the spicy pepper can, as both my soup and my shrimp were very heavily pepper-spiced and thus not very tasty to eat. The shrimp were coated with a mango-type sauce, which was fine, but were served over a layer of tomatoes and cukes that inexplicably was doused in a vinegar sauce. If this was supposed to produce a sweet-sour effect it didn't work - just tasted icky. Fortunately I was so full that I could easily skip the vinegary veggies. I wished I'd just gotten an overpriced hamburger like my bar mates though. On the positive side, the bartender was friendly and fast and the food was also coming from the kitchen super quickly. So a star for the bartender and a star for the servers, but I don't think I want to eat here again. I totally needed an antacid for both spicy food and for the stress of having to eat jammed in like a sardine, by the time I left. read more

One's best bet here may be basic "Pub Grub" - Burgers and the like. Our starter choices were hit and miss. The Shrimp Cocktail was a disappointment. Limp and tasteless - the shrimp should've stayed in the kitchen. The Ahi Tuna w/wasabi sauce was flavorful and provided a nice kick. A solid choice. We both ordered the Salmon Main Course - we both were disappointed. With assorted vegetables flavor still lacked. Dish was also a bit dry which wasn't surprising since our mains came out five minutes after our starters arrived. I asked the server to take them back - unacceptable. The shared Pecan Pie tasted dated. With the standard dark wall paneling the restaurant itself is handsome and comfortable as one can enjoy televised sporting events with various screens available. read more

We went in really late after returning to the hotel from walking around all the monuments at night. We needed some food because dinner had been pretty lite. I had a wonderful salad with fruit and vinaigrette and I delicious screwdriver. And lots of water! The service was great, the bar was hopping and we enjoyed our conversation. read more

Came in after a late flight one night and had the server named Roman and she was hands down amazing. We then came in a couples days later (I'm Actually sitting at the pub now) and Roman is truly a delight. She puts a smile on my face after 11 hours at a conference. My colleagues and I came here for lunch because we were attending a conference held at the Marriot Wardman Park and we didn't have a lot of time to explore the Woodley Park area for other restaurants. The first thing you notice is that they don't offer many things in their menu. Hence, it was easy to choose what meal we wanted. As soon as we ordered, we realized we only had 40 minutes left before our next session starts, so we asked the waiter if our food can make it in time. He said we should be fine. Indeed, our food came out after about 15 minutes. I ordered the seafood fettuccine. The food was alright. The shrimp seems like it came from a frozen package and not fresh shrimp. The pasta was not really al dente. While the food is hot, the taste was just okay. I just needed something to fill my stomach. Service was fine, I guess. We were ignored most of the time because we were sitting in their back corner. I applaud them for getting our order out fast though. This restaurant is also overpriced but I think that's what you should expect from a hotel restaurant. read more

Second time here. Pub in a hotel. Had a burger each time. Very good. Around the table all five people were satisfied with their food, however, there were some mixups. The experience degenerated because of these mixups and mix up in regard to billing. The waitress became argumentative, which is never a good sign. I was in this Marriot for a work conference. The first time I had their food, I was taking it to-go so that I could work in my hotel room. The second time, a colleague and I needed to grab some food late in the evening and we didn't feel like leaving the hotel. Food: The chicken quesadilla was really middle america. Some sort of orange sauce was inside the quesadilla which made it horrible. They give you three dipping sauces (sour cream, salsa, and guac) which I was excited about but the sauce overpowered everything. I really have no idea how you screw up a quesadilla. The pork sliders were really below average. The buns were stale and the BBQ sauce was overly sweet. Service: Great. The waiter never let my water glass empty and stayed away for the most part. It was a multi-gain muffin, probably from Starbucks' stale supply, with a hole cut out and half a banana put inside, then thrown in the microwave and sat upon some watery caramel sauce.... I recommend coming here for a decent priced spinach salad with chicken. The combination of candied walnuts, bacon, goat cheese and grilled red peppers with a very nice dressing makes this option a winner for $15. If you are being budget conscious you can skip the chicken for $10. My mother and I reordered this twice during our stay at the hotel and we were pleased both times. Compared to the other offerings we saw in both hotel restaurants from what others ordered this is the clear choice. Also, their crab soup was tasty for $9. read more

I sat at the bar since I was by myself. The bartender was decent, but he barely spoke English. He was partially attentive. I ordered the bone-in pork chops with mashed potatoes and vegetables (carrots and asparagus). All of it was good, but slightly under seasoned. I ordered the bread pudding for dessert, which is made with Bailey's Irish Cream. It was really good! Overall, it was a good meal. Harry's is located inside the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Very limited menu and pricey but portion sizes were large. Food was excellent highly recommend the chicken wrap and french fries. Limited staff one bartender and a couple of waitstaff but they were all great and asked repeatedly if they could refill our drinks or take away plates. Old school pub feel, very dark decor but seating was not an issue there were very few patrons for a July 3 Friday night at 6 pm. A lot of beer on tap and martini menu but that was about it for drinks. They were watered down not very tasty for the price. Would visit again for a light lunch. read more

It's been a long week been working in the Wardman Marriott providing audio visual services to a couple of large back to back conferences. Waking up at 5am driving down here and getting lights cameras and everything else up and running so that everything comes out looking good. Well here is another 14 hour day. I'm tired, I'm beat, I'm hungry, cranky and still trying to find out about the death of Micheal Jackson and Farrah Fawcett . So I wander over to Harry's Pub which is part of and located in the Marriott I glanced at the menu at the door Uggggh prices are high. Just what you'd expect from a hotel menu serving typical American styled bar food. No discounts for me since I don't work for Marriott or any other many hotels that we deal with, my company is hired by the people giving the conferences. So I quickly enter the restaurant cause it's late and they'll probably close soon. The young lady at the front smiles and seats us quickly I'm with my brother since we are in business together he's tired too. The waitress comes to the table smiling and I mumbled something about a Pepsi or Coke which ever first and she bounced away only a moment later producing the caffeine laced drink. I want the....sheeeeze $15 for a hamburger (Angus that is) I guess I'll have that cause I'm too tired and too hungry and brother he ordered up some chicken tenders at about $10. So now we waited. On the table there was a bowl with pretzel bits type of munchies. Now I know that a hundred dirty hands must have been double dipping in that bowl all day but at this point I didn't care. Too tired, too grumpy, too hungry and still trying to watch the many TV screens in the place near the rather large bar to find out what is happening. A short time passes then a while passes, damn how long does it take to fire up some hamburger meat and some microwave chicken tenders probably by Tyson's? Then before I knew it cause I was watching Al Sharpton talk about MJ on CNN came in the food. Good not too soon cause I'm hungry. Did I mention that I was hungry and tired and grumpy and...well you get the picture. Okay let down disappointed should have known better. It was like having a burger at the Silver dinner but instead of only $6 bucks this is $15 served on a nifty square bun on a nifty square plate and the chicken tenders are the same Tyson's brand that they have for like $8 bucks at the dinner and comes with soup or salad and fries. This is just the tenders. The quality of the food was meh, any other time I would not have paid that much for something so standard like Wendy's food. But this time they got me and they know too. I'm tired and cranky can't go outside to one of the many restaurants up the street there cause I'm stuck there. Our waitress was extremely nice and friendly check in frequently but not overly. Even in my grumpy state she manage to put a smile on my tired face. She's the only thing saving this from a 1 star review, guess who got a good tip, certainly not the food. Quality service goes a long way. So if I could give half stars I would 2.5 stars mostly for my waitress. read more

I went here for lunch and ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was delicious! I thought I was getting a chicken breast. But when the sandwich came it was sliced chicken. I thought it was very delicious and would definitely order it again. The fries were very good also but I was so full from the chicken sandwich that I was unable to eat the fries. The only complaint that I have is the service. Granted I did come at lunch time but the service was very slow and it took my waiter 15 minutes to bring us the check and we never got any refills on our drinks. Even though the service was slow I will be back because of that delicious chicken sandwich. read more

While planning to meet a friend for a 7:30 PM dinner at a nearby restaurant, the snow made driving treacherous. I suggested we meet at my hotel and eat at Harry's Pub. Finally, at 9:00 PM my friend arrived. The wine and beer menu is pretty good. I ordered the curried carrot soup and for my entree, I had the cast iron Cornish hen. Outstanding flavor for both courses! On the evening prior, I had the crab cake sandwich, a very delicious and hearty meal especially with the sweet potato fries. DC has lots of great restaurants to choose from. I rate this place high for convenience. read more

Came to the Marriott with my wife and kids for her work conference and ate here first. It was very quiet in the hotel. The waitress was delightful and perfectly attentive. The food was good, I had a burger and kids had Mac n cheese kids meals. Wife's salad was yummy. Typically overpriced for a hotel which kept us from returning. read more
