Easily one of the WORST dining experiences we've had, especially for a "nice" hotel restaurant charging these prices. My family and I came down around 9 PM. It took until about 9:20 for our waitress to come over, after my husband had to ask the bartender for menus and then AGAIN for help getting someone to take our order. There were only about 3 other tables. We explained food allergies and modifications, but our waitress wrote nothing down and later had to come back to confirm one of the modifications. That alone was concerning with allergies involved. The food was honestly shocking. As our food was being served, we were casually told they were OUT OF BEANS for the nachos -- after it was too late to choose something else. The $16 nachos were basically bagged chips covered in CANNED nacho cheese sauce with what I think was a sour cream/chive drizzle. We paid an additional $14 for FOUR shrimp. So roughly $30 for bagged chips, canned cheese sauce, 4 shrimp, no beans, and sour cream. Absolutely ridiculous. The Cajun fettuccine looked and tasted like an unseasoned frozen meal, with a tiny burnt breadstick. Our burger was ordered with bacon and came without it. After our table was cleared, we waited another 10 minutes just to pay and once again had to get someone's attention. Our bill was around $120. Then came the worst part: we gave our waitress our credit card. She returned the receipt holder with the receipt and tip line -- BUT NOT OUR CARD. We again had to get the bartender to help get her attention. When we finally asked where our card was, she had no idea where it was. It eventually turned up, but we didn't get it back until around 10:30 PM. We would have asked for a manager, but after 1 1/2 hours of chasing down our waitress, terrible and incorrect food, allergy concerns, and then having our credit card go missing, we just wanted to leave. The bartender did her best to help us repeatedly, and the busser was genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, those were the only positives. For approximately $120, this was completely unacceptable -- and losing track of a customer's credit card was the final straw. read more

Basic pub grub. My daughter is very picky. We got the sampler and fries and everything was delicious. The fries weren't coated so my gluten free wife could eat them ( not celiac). My only complaint is don't call it district tap since your beer selection on tap is TERRIBLE but service is AMAZING! read more

Upon my arrival in DC, I had every intention on going out to eat for dinner. I'd selected a place. I knew how far it was from my hotel. I'd scoured the menu. I was ready. What I was not ready for, however, was the three hour tour it took for me to get from the airport to the hotel. I don't know whether it was my Lyft driver's first day on the route but towards the end of my sojourn I wondered if i could have made it to the hotel faster by walking. Add to all of this, the early morning I had the next day and my dinner plans headed to the scrap heap. So, I had to look on property for food. Thankfully (?), smack dab in the middle of the atrium was a hotel restaurant. Un-thankfully, I was there on a Monday night and people were not in the mood to work. While the square footage of the restaurant is pretty spread out (with booths and bar seating a'plenty), I opted to sit at a table in the middle so as to make it easier on my server to see me and wait on me. Plus, the place was empty so I figured that all these factors would add up to a quick, enjoyable meal. Not so much. Despite the place being empty (me and one other table), my server was nowhere to be found and the kitchen was frustratingly slow. My server was not very personable or pleasant either. Small talk was not on the menu. Gauging what time we were on, I made my order and waited. Note I didn't say I sipped on a beverage (or, even, water) because I didn't receive one until I received my meal. Note again that there was only one other table and I was within direct eyesight of the bar. Luckily, there were plenty of TVs to watch so that's what I did. I watched an entire sitcom before my burger, fries and beer showed up. Fine. Serviceable. $35 before tax and tip (aka insult and injury). I know my planned Indian food feast would have been so much better. Oh well. First world problems. read more

Located within the Embassy Suites in the Georgetown area, the inside of the hotel is beautiful and spacious. The waitress was friendly and hospitable. The food hit the spot for a late dinner, as we just arrived from a long road trip from home. The portion was good and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to have a small, quick dinner in the area. read more

A decent place to get a bite or drink if you are staying at the embassy suites and have a $25 food credit to use. I've had the flatbread and steak. The flatbread was fine for the kids. The ribeye steak was well salted but a little over done (I ordered medium rare and you'll barely see a hint of pink) but went down fine with the free happy hour wine. District Tap is located in the Embassy Suites hotel. Guests are coerced to dine at this restaurant by charging a "Mandatory Destination Charge" of $25 per night. This shows up on your bill as a "Suite Tax". I also suspect that this is somewhat of a scam. When I checked in the guest clerk did not mention this charge. Only after I received my keys and was about to leave that I asked about the "Destination Charge". The desk clerk said she forgot to mention it. She then gave me a small card good for $25 credit at the Grab N Go or District Tap. How many people are never told about the charge or that you get it back as a dining credit in the restaurant. Anyway, I ordered the grilled salmon, which comes with red mashed potatoes and broccoli (see picture). It was $28, and I ordered it to go. Everything was very good, especially the potatoes. I should have checked the bag because there was no butter for the broccoli and no salt or pepper. If you are reading this review while staying at the hotel, and they did not give you a voucher, head down to the front desk and demand the voucher. read more

The chicken salad croissant was awesome. The seating options were comfortable and varied from tables, to bar, to couches. Tv's for sports watching. They were out of a lot the night we arrived reason for a star deduction. I love the people complaining...it's a hotel restaurant!! It's convenient, not a Michelin-starred restaurant. The worst service ever. We sat down, waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged and then 20 more to get water. We went here because we thought it would be a quick meal. I could have driven to NJ and gotten served faster. Finally bring the water and I order a ginger ale. Another 10 minutes. In the meantime we all finish our water and they don't bother refilling it. Now up to 40 minutes and no food. Our order was wings, Caesar salad, chicken tenders and kids Mac & cheese. Worst experience ever. Food finally came and was awful. I was visiting a friend staying at The Embassy Suites near DuPont Cir and stopped in the hotel bar for a few drinks at District Tap. All of the staff here are wonderful, in particular, Nebiat, Rachell, and Cookie. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and attentive to the customers! Solid place for food and sports TV. It's in the Embassy Suites so a hotel eatery. Lots of seating and televisions. I sat at a table for a change. Staff was friendly and efficient. I didn't wait and didn't feel rushed. Tonight I ate a chicken quesadilla and some fries. Both were good. Fries were seasoned with pepper which was a nice surprise. We stayed at the hotel, Hilton Club at the District, for 7 days and enjoyed every minute! We ate at The District Tap restaurant for most of our meals. The evening happy hour was fun and the bartender, Jose' was especially great! He even had my husbands favorite, Balvenie Scotch! We enjoyed dinner at the District Tap and had Strawberry spinach chicken salad, fish and chips, rib eye steak as well as a bacon cheeseburger. Everything was delicious! But the most memorable factor that we enjoyed the most were the amazing staff and service people that we met. Rachelle and Mahlet were excellent waitresses. They were professional , thoughtful and efficient. In addition our concierge, Mayer Sadat, was great at scheduling the best sight seeing trips! After just getting in from our drive from New York we wanted something nearby and quick. District Tap fit the bill. I am usually skeptical of hotel restaurants as I usually find them overpriced with mediocre food. However, the food was priced pretty reasonably and was actually pretty good. They even had a good children's menus that included items other then chicken fingers. I went with the chicken tacos, which were pretty good and a good portion size for $16. The one drawback was they had no hot sauce. We got the salmon kids portion for my daughter which came with broccoli and juice. Though she can't drink juice yet, so we skipped on that. It was only $8 which was nice and she seemed to enjoy it. read more
