Didn't hear a ton of music based on the live acts hosted years prior. Needs a pool table or two in the back. Bar service was solid.

I brought my cousin and he remembered from the previous time that I performed there that the food was good and we're both kind of picky. Jose, the bartender was excellent all weekend. I ordered some wings and I asked him what flavor he recommends and he said old Bay, which I can't remember if that was even on the menu but they were outstanding. I don't always love breaded wings, but they were not heavily breaded and I am originally from Virginia so I'm very familiar with old Bay. I was actually a little nervous they were gonna go kind of strong on it to appeal to people that are out of town or just wanna hype up the whole old bay crab seasoning and it wasn't that at all. It was a great recipe. The next night, I got the burger and it was also excellent. Also, in terms of comedy, the comedy loft is on point. Most people don't know how much the size and the shape of the room matter but it makes a huge difference if you have low ceilings. I think that plus the brick walls just capture all the laughter and I've done shows in there that had 12 people and I've done full rooms and either way it feels explosive in there when people laugh. Anyhow, highly recommend it both for guest and comics! Thanks for a great weekend! Jeff Kane

We went here for a comedy show. This was our second time at this place for the comedy show. They…read morehave a 2 item minimum per person when you get there which is fine but the selection of food and cocktails is VERY limited. The appetizers are the exact same price as the entrees. The wings and truffle fries were almost $20 each - the exact same price as all the burgers. They only have canned cocktails and the selection is also very limited. I believe only 3 types of canned cocktails are available. There's a beer and wine menu but I'm not sure how exhaustive it is. Our food also took forever to arrive, long after the show started and we ordered about 20+ minutes before the show started. The seating is inconvenient and narrow, and tables and floors are sticky. I'm only giving it 3 stars because my cheeseburger was good and the patty was thick. I would come back for the comedy show probably but not get food or drinks. You're probably better off just getting soda for the two item minimum. I couldn't take any pictures since our food came late after the show had already started and we weren't allowed to take any pictures during the show.

While celebrating a special birthday we made reservations for a birthday dinner here. I will admit…read morethat I was slightly worried after reading so many negative comments. My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!

Wow, what a quaint British pub in the middle of Vienna. Parking is a little tight for this area,…read morebut you can definitely find some spots in the back on a weekday. I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

There were so many things I…read morewanted to try, but ended up getting the: - Fried cashew mozzarella (Taiwanese fried cashew buffalo mozzarella croquettes drizzled with Korean spicy ketchup): The cashew "cheese" was interesting: while it wasn't reminiscent of mozzarella, it was still tasty. Super crispy! The spicy ketchup was the perfect condiment. - Generals Chick'n (Taiwanese fried plant-based Chick'n, tomato, seared broccoli & scallions with generals sauce): Overall, I liked this dish- the chick'n was perfectly crunchy and tender, the sauce was flavorful, and the signature rice was well-cooked (in fact, I regretted getting half salad/half rice instead of full rice). However, the sauce was a bit too gloopy and sweet for my taste, and the broccoli didn't seem super fresh. The ambiance is good: lots of seating, nice view of the city. Service is fast and friendly: you order on an iPad and pick up at the counter. Located within a quick walk to the Metro so very accessible. 8/10 would recommend!

I liked the sauces that they used on our dishes. I am doing this from memory but we go 3 Teriyaki dinners with the faux chicken. Often the substitute for chicken in Vegan places is hard to chew but not at Pow Pow. We hope you open more places. There are a lot Vegans in DC and it's growing.
