After experiencing the restaurant, I can safely say that this is definitely a place to try. The ambiance and the food is great. Practically all the dishes my family tried were delicious, few better than others, but all felt like quality. Service was amazing as well and left the place very happy with the experience. Detailed review Location/occasion: Went to this restaurant with my family and fiancé for dinner at around 8PM on a Sunday night. Parking was not difficult to find on the street of the building/hotel (I don't know if we got lucky but my party came in 3 different cars and we all found street parking relatively close. Like a block away) The building is not easy to spot when driving down the street but you definitely know you are in the right place when you see the Greyson hotel entrance. The main dietary restriction we had in the group was for my father who is vegan. Inside the restaurant: The ambiance and decor is just as it looks in pictures and prettier in person (totally forgot to take pictures of the place). The place looks new and has ample seating for probably around 40-50 people at a time (I am including the bar seating as well). The seating, plating and utensils had a quality feel to them, no complaints what so ever. Service: We had a party of 6 and I know my family can be sort of complicated when it comes to ordering. However the server was very kind and went into detail when ever we had questions about the dishes. When we asked if a dish was vegan, she went to check with the chef to be sure and came back with telling us it was possible to make it vegan. Great new addition to midtown's dining scene. Food was fantastic but weighed down by the lighting (way too bright in there, please dim the lights and make it into a more pleasant dining experience!) as well as the drinks (the cocktails were lackluster). In terms of the cocktails, we had ordered the "Lavender" and "Gyokuro" - neither seemed to taste like the stated ingredients and we actually had to reorder them. There was a wide variety of choices. Appetizers were not bad, but the entrees really shined. I especially enjoyed the chicken tagine, the rice was incredible. Decently vegan friendly, though I wish that there was another option for a vegan main other than cauliflower. Cauliflower never deserved the moment it's getting. Very nice space. We went late afternoon (4pm) on a weekend and it was not busy. Good service. We had the Chorizo & Potato Croquettes with romesco sauce. They came out nice and hot and were very tasty. I had the salmon and my husband had the roasted turkey sandwich. The waiter had ask for temp on the salmon which I specified medium. It came out well done but still with the caponata and pumpkin seed gremolata, it was very good. My husband said his turkey sandwich was great. He noted the fries were particularly good - perfectly cooked and hot which is really all you want for fries. We had Chocolate Almond Torte for dessert which was also good. Went here for New Year's Eve as a cute pre spot. Found tickets on NYC party guide that said premium open bar on the site but not on the flyer so I called on Monday to make sure I was 1 buying the right tickets from the right site and 2 to check if it was open bar. The person confirmed that it was an open bar and they told me that it's whatever liquor the bar has set aside for that night. So awesome I think I know what I'm getting into right.... I get there and no one has a clue about the open bar. Down stairs some lady said it was open bar. On TOP of that when I ordered my first drink I asked for a double got charged 30 and was like okay yeah fine. Then I go to the bar on the other side to order another double the bartender goes we don't do doubles and I get charged 20. So what's going on? In my confusion I talk to a women she then tells me they source bartender from a 3rd party company so some of them don't know the "rules". Still confused I talk to someone who says he's the manager and he says this event is run/rent by a group and he doesn't rlly know what's going on either.... Like is this not your venue? How do you not know what's going on? He says he's going to find the lady who is running all of this so I can talk to her never did. We waited over an hour for our entrees after appetizers. We watched tables around us get both appetizers and entrees before us, even though some tables were seated after us. The waiter never came to check in on us, even for water. If we did not get their attention to inquire on the wait, they would have never said anything. As soon as we called the waiter over, that's when they want to interrupt with "it's coming, it's coming, sorry" No, you're not. And no, obviously it's not coming. Because it doesn't take an hour to make a sandwich and cook a steak medium rare. And since other tables got a variety of orders from the kitchen, it is also obviously not backed up. We left. Never coming back. I don't care how lovely the ambience was or how nice the drinks were. This is not cool on so many levels. Delicious from start to finish!! Excellent cocktails and wine options. Try all the dips and the focaccia-each one is flavorful and distinct and once you start you can't stop! Food was ok. I had oyster mushroom with cauliflower. My rating is mostly based on service. It took a long time for server to attend to my table of one, in a non crowded setting. I watched her serve the 2 other tables who were seated before me, yet she did not greet nor acknowledge me as she walked past my table a few times, even looking away when we made brief eye contact. I was tempted to just get up and leave to search for another place to eat. The hostess who seated me noticed me sitting without water and I asked her to please send the server take my order. She also seemed suprised that I had been sitting for some time since she seated me at my table without so much as water. If I'm spending money to dine out, part of the experience is for the service, not just the meal. Like I mentioned it wasn't crowded, there were only two other tables seated, both of which had already put their food orders in before I was seated ( judging from when their food arrived). I don't know was she having an off day? Should I not take it personally? Regardless, it makes me pause to return with friends if service is typically like this. My girlfriends and I went here for dinner last night and we loved it. The place was so cute, beautiful decor and perfect lighting. I was obsessed with my drink - got their passionfruit marg with mezcal (I wasn't in the mood for smokey). My friends got the lavender drink and the spritz from the cocktail menu - they liked it too. All the drinks were freshing and light. As for food we did a bunch of share plates - my favorite were the burrata, the dip and calamari. The caesar salad wasn't anything special. The patatas bravas had the perfect texture and flavor profile but a little more sauce would have made it perfect. The staff was super attentive and nice. Really enjoyed our food selections; we had KALE CAESAR SALAD, wonderful SALT COD CROQUETTES, unique and tasty CHICKEN TAGINE, and a traditional hamburger with well prepared fries. Hidden little gem in midtown. We met here for drinks on the rooftop and then dinner one floor down. This looks like a good place to have large group events, there is a decent amount of space. The Branzino was great, even though the skin wasn't quite crispy. The sauce made the dish though, some sort of magical concoction beyond my culinary knowledge really makes this flavor three dimensional and gives it some zing. I recommend this dish. The broccolini was also good, with a hint of sweetness from the raisins and sauce. Nothing is boring. They humored me with a custom sundae, (thank you!). The ambiance is nice, even though you do feel like you're sitting in the lobby of a hotel if you sit toward the front. The worst part I had stomach issues after dinner... it was really bad... I needed to run to the bathroom few times. Nice to have a good Mediterranean option near Bryant Park. Restaurant was not crowded (still undiscovered?) and it sits on one side of a hotel lobby. But it's not a busy lobby so it's not noisy. It's quite classy. We tasted two spreads--romesco (sweet roasted red pepper with almonds and a heavy hint of saffron) and the eggplant (like babaganoush but lighter, with mint on top) served with delicious seeded focaccia bread. We shared the wild mushroom risotto which was properly cooked, creamy and cheesy and earthy from the mushrooms. Friends devoured the shrimp. They looked amazing! Decided to do a Sunday brunch at Harta. The restaurant is inside the Grayson Hotel. The restaurant is extremely cute. The food and coffee were delicious as well. The restaurant is a block over from Bryant Park. Service is extremely slow though even with the staff being super nice. Took us over 20 mins to get seated when we made a reservation. Our waitress was slow as well and went missing a few times to the point other waiters/waitresses noticed and had to ask us if we were okay and brought us our check. read more

The ambiance is lovely - it's gorgeous, well appointed, and spacious inside, and you can hear yourself think, at least on a weeknight! I was staying in the attached Grayson Hotel and had less than 45 minutes before I had to take a zoom meeting back up in my room. The host served me immediately and in a pretty, spacious corner of the banquette, even though I was solo. She sent the server over who also heard my urgency and was attentive to it. But the food I ordered was really underwhelming for the quality and care that appeared to go into it - the tuna crudo was missing something - some brightness perhaps - that would have made it more than high grade tuna and slices of beet. The labneh was tzatsiki - maybe that's my own misunderstanding, but I thought labneh was typically thicker and perhaps saltier. This was somewhat watery but would have been above average if billed as tzatziki! And worst, and such a bummer, the falafel was flavorless - bland, under salted, and lacking much taste at all. You could get better from a store bought, frozen variety. I hate when great service is lost on mediocre food, and I don't enjoy complaining about it but don't want others to be disappointed too. 3 stars = an attempt to average 2 for food, 4 for service, 4 for ambiance. read more

We found Harta accidentally on a mother daughter outing from Brooklyn. All the famous places were booked on Friday night. It was a leap of faith to try a new restaurant. We are glad we did. My 11 year old daughter said this place is a hidden gem indeed. We had the lamb ribs and the chicken targine. Both dish were delicious. I dined here for restaurant week with my cousin. The server was very sweet and kind. The calamari had good flavor, but it was so tiny it was almost mostly bread crumbs. The meat balls with goat cheese were tasty. We then had the Angus steak and the brazzino. The fish was absolutely delicious ! The green salsa on the filet was to die for! I loved everything about bar harta from the food to the service to the ambiance, everything was top tier. The staff were super nice and constantly checked in to make sure we were good! I even gave the bartender a hard task of surprising me with a drink and gave one requirement: mint, and he delivered!
