I can't say enough great things about Harvest but let me first start with the most important part- THE SERVICE. It's rare that you find a server as knowledgeable, friendly, thoughtful and hospitable as Phillip who my guests and I were lucky enough to sit and dine with. He made the experience for us top notch and we will never go back without requesting him as our server. He was THAT good. Working in a service industry myself, he is one of those rare gems that I hope management takes care of because he adds so much more to the experience than the food alone (although the food speaks for itself). The restaurant itself is tucked inside the hills of laguna beach so if you're one of those people who need to be on your phone 24/7 be sure to log into the wifi ASAP otherwise you may not have service. For those of you who enjoy being a little "off the grid" it's a great place to unwind, connect with nature, enjoy the beautiful ambiance and a very lively atmosphere. The restaurant decor is very inviting with the feeling of being at home. All the food here is great but what makes Harvest special is that they actually grow several vegetables on their property, farm to table - yes please! You can taste the difference in so many of their dishes. With a unique offering of dishes on the menu it's a great place for everyone, all occasions, and especially great for special occasions too with several places to capture a great picture. I'd highly recommend coming to Harvest and if you happen to be staying at the hotel or in town you can also check out their tours of the garden wednesday and Saturday. My family and I ate at Harvest 5 times during our stay at the ranch because it was so good and they were so accommodating for my baby. Wassam is the best waiter and we truly enjoyed his recommendations. For appetizers the squash blossoms and the duck wings are a MUST. I also tried pretty much everything on their dinner menu and my favorites were the miso glazed jidori chicken and burger. The restaurant is also beautiful and boasts cannon views. Came to this restaurant for both dinner and breakfast since we stayed at the Hotel here, and boy: it did not disappoint. We were table 101 for dinner, in a corner booth, and although it was definitely busy last night, the bartenders nearby were always stopping by to check on us. Bartender Manny was by far one of the greatest we've had in a very long time: we always love a bartender who can put their creative twists on cocktails and mannnn, he made our night! We had a peach whiskey sour, New York sour, along with a peach mule! To say we were highly satisfied is an understatement. For dinner we ordered the pan seared scallops, short rib, and bacon Mac and cheese. All of them 5/5 - lots of flavor with good portions! And for dessert: we couldn't pick just one, so had to go with the apple pie, crème brûlée and a scoop of the honey lavender ice cream (wow wow wow). All of them were divine! For breakfast the next day, we got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the highly talked about cinnamon roll. My goodness: the view in the morning is just so beautiful. We went to Harvest for a family lunch to celebrate my brother's birthday, following a recommendation from a friend who spoke highly of the place. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 for ambiance. However, that's where the positives end. Let's talk about the food, which was the real disappointment of the day. I ordered several dishes, hoping for a memorable culinary experience, but instead, I was met with subpar quality across the board. * 8oz Dry Aged Burger: The biggest letdown of the meal. The beef was far from fresh; it had a bad taste that made it nearly inedible. The patty was dry, and the flavor was off, as if the meat had been sitting for far too long. This was supposed to be the highlight of the lunch, but I couldn't even finish it. * Shrimp: I also tried the shrimp, and it was absolutely awful. The shrimp tasted bad and had a horrible smell that made it impossible to eat. It's rare for me to send food back, but in this case, I had no choice. * Garlic Roasted Bone Marrow and Duck Wings: These starters, which we were looking forward to, were equally disappointing. The bone marrow lacked any depth of flavor, and the duck wings were underwhelming, with the sweet chili glaze doing little to save the dish. Given the experience we had, I would rate the food quality as a 1 out of 5. The poor quality of the ingredients and the lack of freshness were shocking for a restaurant with such a promising menu. In conclusion, I would not recommend Harvest to anyone until they significantly improve their food quality. It's unfortunate that what was meant to be a special family occasion was marred by such a bad dining experience. This is not a place I'll be returning to, and I urge others to reconsider their choice if they're looking for a place with good food. There are many better options out there that won't leave you with a bad taste in your mouth--literally and figuratively. read more

Took my girlfriend for her birthday dinner and had a terrible experience. The service was immediately slow and we waited for about 20 mins after we sat down and got served our first drink. We had some mediocre apps and salads. The big crashers of the party were or mains. The overpriced ribeye was ordered medium and served raw to the point of inedible. The manger was even disturbed by the disturbing presentation of the steak. The braised short ribs were inedible in another way - salty beyond belief. Neither of us could finish our meals and were offered birthday desert. I understand they are affiliated with the golf course, but their hospitality is clearly not up to standards for a Laguna beach establishment. read more

My wife and I went to dinner here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The food, drinks, service and location were all excellent. We all shared appetizers and deserts. My branzino was the best fish that I have had in a long time. The top desert was the birthday chocolate mousse. The chef even discussed on the phone what menu items were acceptable under my wife's diet. The complex is beautiful and open in the natural canyon. The dining room is a large open room in more of a hunting lodge setting. I would recommend this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. read more

We had a reservation for 13 people booked for brunch one week before Christmas weekend. The menu had something for everyone. As a large group, we were able to sample many entrees and appetizers. All in all, worthy of your considerations are the dry aged burger (4/5), breakfast croissant sandwich (4.5/5), grilled citrus swordfish salad(5/5), but for sure I would skip the club sandwich ---dry and uninspiring like school cafeteria food. Because I was with my wife and mother in-law I felt funny complaining but definitely was not good compared to the previous visits. The main courses were spot on though. My wife ordered a couple of glasses of wine and when I got the bill was very surprised at 23.00 per glass. she wanted to make a spritzer and ordered a side of soda water that was an additional 4.00. With tip and tax that is 32.00 per glass. My mother in law ordered wine also and was 10.00 a glass which was reasonable. I think the server should advise the pricing instead of making a choice for the patron and using expensive wine that was not wanted and saying nothing about price. I specifically came to this restaurant to have brunch. When I arrived I was upset to find out that brunch is only served on the weekends. I was really looking forward to trying the Cinnamon Roll To Share. Unfortunately, they do not offer it during the week. To compensate, I just ordered mimosas. The mimosas were fine, nothing special. Service was A+ as our waters were always filled, constant check-ins and dishes being bussed as we finished. We ordered the charcuterie, Brussels, fries, for appetizers. For drinks we tried the Voo-Doo punch, La Paz, and the Orange Blossom. For dessert we tried the famous lemon butter cake, and the Peanut Butter Banana Bread Pudding. Display of the food was aesthetic and totally Instagram-able (if that matters to you). The drinks were DELICIOUS, and fancy-just what we were hoping for. The highlight of the apps were definitely the Brussels.....GET THE BRUSSELS!!! Overall this was a 5 star visit, and will be returning over and over again. Horrible experience from start to finish, we had a reservation for 12:45 and the hostess misheard that we wanted to wait to be sat outside so we waited 30 min just to be sat inside in a window in full sun. We were celebrating a birthday and then proceeded to wait 30 min for our food at which point I flagged our server down, we were told he "didn't know what happened to the ticket" and the kitchen was rushing our food. He basically didn't submit the ticket and then took zero accountability for it. We proceeded to wait another 20 at which point our drinks were watered down (they were not good to begin with). Once the manager came all he could offer was a dessert which to me is already a given when celebrating a birthday. The chicken sandwich was good but the cheesesteak was not, my boyfriend said a Philly cheesesteak at a mall food court would be better...Once we got to our car we also discovered the valet had left front windows of our vehicle down in the lot.
