Had to take a star away. What I thought were fresh Kaffir lime leaves turned out to be Chinese…read morebroccoli which I only realized after taking them out of the bag. The problem was that the bags were right behind an incorrect sign on the refrigeration case. I hadn't bought Kaffir lime leaves in years, the last time they were packaged dried in the bag. I just figured this time that perhaps the leaves were being sold fresh now. At least the Chinese Long Beans actually were Chinese Long Beans.

This was my favorite Asian grocery in Kitsap county and the only one I shopped at. But last week…read morewhile picking up some fried chili crisp, the bottle was stacked so tightly in-between a row of two other products, I accidentally knocked a jar over. And in a move to save the jar I quickly moved my basket under the falling jar to catch it to stop it from breaking in the floor. Unfortunately, the quick motion of my basket caused a bottle of banana ketchup to be knocked off a lower shelf and break in the floor. Upon, checkout I was made to pay for the bottle that broke. Okay, I get it you're a small business and every penny counts, and I average over $100 of my grocery budget there every month. But from a customer service standpoint to make me pay for accidentally knocking a bottle to the floor? Sure you saved $2.69. But once again from a customer service pov, did you save $2.69 OR did you LOSE over $1200 a year in patronage, because I'm never coming back. There's other Asian groceries in the area that I can get all the same things I get at your store.

The best finds were Indomie noodles and perilla oil for way cheaper than on amazon. The last time I bought a bottle of perilla oil on amazon, I spent over $25 for it. The other reviewers are right. This Korean market hands down has the best store made kimchi, ever…read more I lived in Korea and Los Angeles so trust me on this. No MSG or any powdered garlic/onion but real stuffs. Go make the best kimchi tacos or kimchi fried rice. All of his side dishes are homemade, too, and delicious. Guilt free as well. The store might seem small but they carry all the basics for Korean and many other Asian cooking. Lots of Korean snacks, too! He brings different produces each time I go, so it's always fun to go there. The owner is super sweet and friendly. He sometimes tells you what the freshest/hottest items he just brought in the store are but never pushes you to buy anything. He was even concerned the bill came out too high last time I was there going a little crazy lol For Korean items especially, this store has the best price among all other Asian markets in the area. If you don't find something that you want, call him on Thursday/Friday. He will find it and bring it when he goes out to Tacoma to his suppliers. I can't wait to get another jar of his kimchi!
