We have been buying beef from Minder for years, always good quality and flavor. The last two times we have bought their beef the quality and taken a huge nosedive. Tough flavorless and just bad beef. I now stay far away from their store, I suggest you do the same. read more

Wonderful that there is a professional butcher not part of a retail grocery store. Customer service however needs some improvement. I was looking for a smallish cut of beef brisket. Minder only sells (apparently) whole briskets and does not cut to order. When other stores.... even grocery store butchers.... will cut a brisket to the size the customer wants, this reflects poorly on Minder Meats. Given the prices they charge and today's economy, I would think this would not be a problem. They lost a sale and potentially a customer for good over refusing to make one cut on a piece of meat. I get that some folks might want a huge piece, but certainly not everyone does. Too bad. read more

Love love love Minder Meats. Moved back from Seattle this year and my husband and I are regulars at Minder now. We've gotten tomahawk steak, beef chuck ribs, pork shoulder, lobster, and the best best best super colossal Alaskan king crab. We also just ordered our Christmas prime rib as the customer service and the food has all been phenomenal. Huge shoutout to Sam who helped my husband and I a few times now. The service is out of this world. My checker did everything in a split of a second from the time I entered to time of leave. This wonderful man brought a 10 lbs box of, what I found out at home very delicious Polish sausage, from the freezer to my car. I ordered it from Minder Meats after careful research. Additionally, there were cut up tasty samples of smoked cod and salmon. My only wish to have longer store hours on at least one day, until 6:00pm. When I order next time I won't be able to get my order until a Saturday because I work when they close at 3:00 pm. And additionally, their signage could be on the street corner where to take a turn, because their shop warehouse is a tad too hidden. read more

Been going to them for years and was great. Emailed an order and then picked it up on the day I needed it. Customer service isn't the best. Lately their hours keep changing due to season or pandemic and it doesn't reflect on Google, just a paper taped to the door. Twice now I've gone and they were closed and once I went in and was ignored for a solid 15 mins before someone asked what I needed and told me they didn't sell meat at that time( I showed up at 9am and the door was open and I guess the front desk person wasn't there till 10am). Great service, easy to order your meat, order ahead of time, at least 24 hours for a regular meal, order way ahead of time if placing a large order. Great quality meats, we ordered four filet mignon, grilled it in its simplest form and was fantastic quality meat. We also picked up on same day Alaskan King crab about 2.5lbs, fantastic! We will keep coming back for our meats and seafood here! read more

Only one experience with Minder's but the customer service and quality was very good. Ordered an approx 80 lb pig for a pig roast at our house. Placed order over the phone, requested pig be butterflied and the head left on. No issues at all - extra charge for butterflying was identified upfront and the butcher verified that it had been properly cut when it arrived to the Retail location. Important to note that if you're ordering a whole hog - call it in about a week and a half early so that they can get the order in. I was on my way to pick up the pig with about an hour to spare the day before it was to be cooked and I received a call just making sure I was on my way. :-) It was nice to see that they were ensuring that I didn't forget about my pig. The butcher helped me load it into the car and provided extra cardboard so that my car wouldn't get bloody. The pig was very well prepared and tasted great! highly recommend Minder's. They also do other smaller cuts and beef. Locally owned - great company. Will definitely be doing business with them again. read more

I recently moved back into the area and the butcher shop I used to go to closed up shop when the owners retired so I searched for a new butcher for a boneless prime rib for Christmas dinner. After asking family that live in the area, decided to give Minders a shot. I emailed my order in at the beginning of December (I didn't want to get caught out if there was a rush) for prime rib and a couple pounds of thick cut bacon - and had phone confirmation the next day to discuss some of the questions I had in my email - order placed, nice & easy (and $10.00 less per pound than the local Safeway). Come pickup day, I got there and a gentleman at the door asked if I was there for pickup - I told him I was, he asked my name so he could go get it and directed me to the office to pay. Everyone was friendly and fantastic - and seemed to be having a Christmas party which they invited me to join and fill a plate with brisket, pulled pork, chicken, fruits, cheeses, etc (we hadn't had lunch yet, and we ate well that afternoon getting to sample a few different things!). By the time I paid, my order was waiting for me and off we went. The quality was fantastic. The bacon was wrapped in 1lb vacuum sealed bags and the roast was also vacuum packed. I have made prime rib before, and it's always good - but this was the best prime rib I've ever had (part of that is the method of cook and the au jus, sure - but none of that matters if the meat itself isn't fantastic). The bacon was quite good and not overly salty as some are, and a lovely smokey flavor. I'm looking forward to my next order there, as I will be returning and not only for Christmas. read more

My friend & I placed a pretty large order of a variety of different meats. We made a weeks worth of freezer meals for 3 families. The lady was super nice, got our order perfect, & had everything ready in three days. She was even able to split the bill up exactly how I asked, which wasn't just in half. The prices are better than anywhere else in town & the meat tastes great! Definitely worth the extra trip! read more

Rude and unwelcoming office lady! When placing orders over the phone she never says good bye, just hangs up. When picking up orders, she looks up as if to be inconvenienced by my arrival, no eye contact. When retrieving my order she just hands it to me and walks off. I always say thank you and have a nice day but only to be ignored. So over it! If I wasn't forced to go here due to my company wanting their meats, I would never step foot back in that smelly carcass factory! Two stars because apparently the customers who we purchase product for love it. Please find a nicer office manager. read more

I placed a large order to stock my freezer. My order consisted of boneless skinless chicken, whole cut chickens, hamburger, bacon, ribs, ribeye steaks, and sirloin steaks. I ordered via email and picked up my order the next day. The staff was so pleasant and by the time I paid for my order there were two men at the door with my meat ready to put it in my car for me. They also offer a military discount if you spend over $300 which is a nice savings. The quality and taste is great! I waited to do this review until I had a chance to try everything. The steaks, ribs, and bacon all have great vacuum sealed packaging. The boneless chicken is packaged well too. It is in plastic trays so you can just pop out each individual breast and boxed in a case. There are a few things I feel could be improved. The whole cut chicken and the hamburger come in a plastic bag and then wrapped in paper. It takes longer to thaw it in this packaging and can be messy as well. I would like to see them vacuum sealed. I asked for the individual packaging option for the steaks for .10 cents more per lb and that was not done. I did not notice this until I was home stocking my freezer. The ribeye steaks are super thin and grainy. I would like to see more options for sizing of the steaks because my household prefers a nice thick steak. I'm not sure if I will order steak again. Overall, I love minder meats and will continue to order from them. read more

Husband and I buy a 1/2 beef every year. We were not thrilled with the quality last time, so decided to try Minder meats. Drove from Shelton to Bremerton to pick up a sample of steak and roasts, and burger. Got there to find out they don't deal that way that you MUST call in the order at least 24 hours before you want it. The woman who "helped" us just shrugged her shoulders and offered to give us a copy of the list of packages to call in what we wanted, not really caring that we were not from there. Very poor customer service and will not go back. read more

Have used Minder Meats for a very long time, both as a restaurateur and as a retail customer, and enjoy their meat, pork and chicken. In particular, their chicken is not some over bloated mutant looking bird, but it is regular sized at 3 pounds, and tastes much better than the genetically modified birds that are found in supermarkets. Their steaks have excellent flavor and are very tender. Their pork chops are the same, better flavor, and tender. read more
