Unfortunately Harvey's missed the mark for me on service. I came in with a large party, 10 people, on a Wednesday evening. We had a reservation, so we were seated quickly in a quiet area. Drink orders were quickly taken, but that was the only quick thing. When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty empty with only 3 other tables being occupied. As the night carried on, many tables came and went before we even received our entrees. Many of my tables salads were "given away" to another table, chicken tortilla soup was delivered without the tortillas and drink refills were never offered. It seems that our server was stretched too thin and opted to be more attentive to his smaller tables leaving us to flag him down when we needed something. The service was unfortunate because the ribeye I ordered was delicious, though slightly over cooked. The macaroni and cheese was also very good. I would recommend the broccoli bites, crawfish pimento dip and spinach artichoke dip as well, but the fried mushrooms lack any significant flavor. I would visit Harvey's again...but I would stress the temp I wanted my steak and NEVER with a large group. read more

I've been to Harvey's many times at their multiple locations, including Columbus, and have been satisfied. Although, its food quality and quantity has been waning here recently. I ordered the New York strip cooked medium rare ($24) with a baked potato. It first came out charred and medium well. It looked to have either been frozen and cooked or finished cooking in the microwave from my judgment. I informed the waiter and he was gracious about it and sent it back for another. I received another steak but with no baked potato. The waiter asked for me to cut into the steak to confirm the doneness. Although I don't like cutting directly into the middle of a (supposedly) hot steak, I obliged only to find a very rare steak that was still cold in the middle. The waiter saw it and agreed with my assessment, but I told him not to send it back that I'll just box it up and finish cooking it at home. I'm not much to complain about my food quality or service (first Yelp review), but I was quite disappointed with my recent experience. Now I have a rare $24 New York strip sitting in my fridge that may or may not get eaten. My advice is if you go, stick with the chicken strips. read more

Harvey's is a really solid restaurant, and the one that I frequented most when I was in Columbus. There are no real drawbacks too this place imo; it is pretty good all around. The Harvey's aesthetic is elegant, even if it is a bit dark inside--cave-like, actually XD but that's okay. There is enough lighting so that you can see each other, what you are eating, and about two or three feet in front of you, which I liked because it made the whole scene more intimate and relaxing. The interior is mostly wood and brass, and very muted colors, but again, this just serves to make you chill out and enjoy your meal even more. They play soothing jazz music, and Everything is very clean and tidy. The service is almost always great, or at least it was whenever I've gone here. And now for ze food....everything on the menu is pretty good, which might be expected, since there are a rather limited number of selections one can make. My favorite dishes were the Asian Chicken Salad (I substituted a vinegrette for the Asian dressing) and the pesto linguine, but the alfredo is also pretty good. The only real letdown in the entree section was the filet mignon, which I felt was just kind of blah. There aren't a ton of appetizers to choose from either, but they are all generally tasty and my favorite was the fried mushrooms (even better than Broussard's). Besides that, you get complimentary bread rolls which are insanely delicious!! You know those cheesy biscuits from Red Lobster? They are about 10x more addicting than them. Harvey's is also known for its desserts, specifically the bread pudding, which I confess is delicious but a little too heavy for me =/ if you are going to order that, make sure you get a small dinner and you have someone to split it with. read more

Very average food for the prices. Cajun pasta had spice to it but little flavor in the sauce. The shrimp tasted farm raised, although the crawfish was very good. Service is also mediocre. This place was fantastic! I ordered the steak kebob and it was great. It was cooked to a perfect med rare and was served over a bed of ride, which was also super good. Price wasn't bad. Visited on Monday evening 9/12/2016. Bailey was our server. Great service! I ordered the Panko shrimp appetizer with the loaded baked potato soup and my son ordered the seafood pasta and loaded baked potato soup also. To put it simple...Delicious! Great atmosphere! Not only was Bailey our server, but other staff came to our table. I even met the cook, and he asked if we were satisfied with the service. Teamwork @ Harvey's! I had dinner at Harvey's tonite for the third and final time . I wanted to give the restaurant a chance to amend the horrible service that I received on my first two visits .New to town and was referred to this place my a friend, I tried them out on consecutive Saturday nights.(big mistake) so I chalked up my misfortune of horrible service due to crowd and sever expecting a small tip because I was a single diner. No problem for me as this happens a lot. Tonight is Sunday night and the place was sparsely full. I guess my expections were of a nice meal with decent service . I was sadly mistaken !!! I ordered a medium rare ribeye with a bowl of soup as a starter , after a small delay I was brought my soup which was decent . Upon completion another server delivered another bowl of soup, I asked why. And her reply was" I goofed up and made another one , just leave it on the table if you don't want it". Strange but I can live with it. After a lengthy delay in which I was extremely thirsty as my water glass was empty of course I was served a well done NY Strip . I let the steak set on the table until my server ( who did not deliver my meal) stopped by . I very politely stated that I believe I have someone's steak not the one I ordered . No sir that is a Ribeye was the reply . She was kind enough to say " I will speak to the kitchen and get you a medium rare ribeye " Fair enough . This server then left the steak on the table and waited on her other one table and did not return. After a delay and trip outside for some fresh air I returned and politely asked the hostess if I could speak to the manger as I wanted to complete my meal and leave . 10 minutes later a man arrived and promptly did the standard penguin bow and said " we will have out your ribeye shortly" He certainly did !!!! A rare "Ribeye did arrive! Oh wait a minute I ordered a medium rare ribeye , and I am still thirsty . I tried to finish the rare ribeye and undercooked baked potato but at this point I just wanted to go home and eat some Frosted Flakes . I left a $13.57 tip on a $26.43 tab because my server surely will not be employed to much longer and will need a little extra cash to get by on. I suppose I should have left her and penguin man a couple hundred . If you are by yourself and want good service avoid Harvey's in Columbus ms .Otherwise you will find yourself in my shoes . I usually don't knock good eating but we had friends to come in town from Gulfport and they wanted to eat at a nice place. Well we took them to Harvey's and don't get me wrong the food is good but because they had a few tables already seated we had to wait 20 mins to be seated where there clearly was about 20 empty tables. They said they didn't want the kitchen to bag up. Well once seated we still had to wait an hour for our food to come out. Good food BAD SERVES. read more

One of the few places I'll miss in Columbus. I always have the same thing so there is only a couple different meals I can speak for but the rib eye with the cajun seasoning and crawfish sauce is awesome. Usually I just get the sauce on the side and eat it by itself. Keep in mind, last I checked, the seasoning and sauce are not on the menu but you can get it on any steak. I was so excited for my Italian Margarita- Cuervo gold & amaretto, however, I took a sip and there the baby roach was waving at me from inside the glass. NOPE! Absolutely one of the best meals! If you are looking for good food and good service, this is the place! Visited Harvey's for lunch. We ordered the BBQ chicken salad and the burger with homemade chicken noodle soup. The burger had a homemade sourdough bun. It was so delicious. The burger was huge and the meat had a great flavor. The homemade chicken soup was creamy beyond any chicken soup I've had. When I say homemade, its truly hand crafted with a lot of love! We had the bread pudding for desert and it was out of this world with fresh apples, nuts and the whiskey sauce was amazing. The service was over the top... so friendly and gave wonderful recommendations. JD was our server and she was really attentive not to mention she had tasted everything on the menu so her recommendations were spot on. The manager stopped by our table twice to insure we were happy with everything and we were. The whole staff knew we were first timers from out of town and treated us like royalty!
