So I saw Harvey's on the way up to a friend of mine's and I knew it was going to be about dinner on the way back so I noted it and went in pretty much right it open. A prompt reading. Very nice and shown to a great table. There wasn't lots of people there at opening but we didn't care. I couldn't resist the deviled eggs which had chili oil and just a little bit of heat. Love the flavor and then we went to the artichoke hearts that were crispy fried on the outside and creamy on the inside. We then ordered up the crispy fried chicken because of the chickpea batter. My buddy could have it being gluten free. I didn't even notice it was gluten free. Deliciously cooked. The last thing we ordered were the shrimp and grits the maple flavor to it was awesome. The shrimp were plump and cooked correctly and the grits would not mushy at all. I was very surprised and loved to finish with this meal The one downside is I did order a martini and it did come about half the size that I was used to but it was only $10 as well. So delicious! Dirty martini just a little small but I didn't want to order two. I think you're going to be quite pleased if you ever are going through turners falls or if you live there and drop on in the whole dinner for the four dishes and two drinks was about $85 with the 20% tip so it's not cheap but the food is good read more

Went right when it opened, so no issues getting a table. Started with espresso martinis, which were not the best I have had, but solid. Ordered the chicken lettuce cups, chili crisp deviled eggs, and fried artichokes with pistou mayonnaise. Everything was outstanding. No notes. It seemed like there was something mixed with the deviled eggs, maybe a bit of chili oil? And of course chili oil on top. We needed a place to gather that included NH family members. We didn't expect to find such a gem. We must have ordered almost the entire menu between the lot of us. And here's the take! Sweater Weather a perfect seasonal cocktail. Seriously, just order one. However we didn't get the red wine in the New York Sour. Suggested wine from the bartender was on point. Tapas galore. Favorites being the rice balls and fried chicken. Those that liked lamb were absolutely spoiled and the sopapillas were a HUGE hit. The brussel sprout slaw was a great hit of palette cleaning vinegar and fried cheese a favorite. Beef shank was cut thin tasty but not your typical serving. Our server timed her appearance perfectly and gave us ample time to chat and reminisce as we collectively had not seen each other in a while. Nice place for a cocktail and a small place. I've tried most every dish they offer. My least favorite are the dumplings which we're a little too doughy. Ask for additional dipping sauces. My only suggestion is they offer a few more non-fried foods. read more

We tried Harvey's with some friends on a weekday night. It seemed to us that the aspirations of the chef and the menu currently surpass the kitchen's ability to execute the ideas properly. A side dish of an otherwise tasty gojuchang chicken were these cold, kind-of-hard large potatoes soaked in a very salty soy sauce/vinegar marinade for much too long. Upon closer review of the menu, it seems like a poor execution of a Korean side dish. It seems like the restaurant is in the middle of style change as well, as the menu is much smaller than it was earlier this summer and missing some items that I was previously interested in trying. Almost all the food served was cold or lukewarm despite the restaurant not being very busy - almost like things were prepped in advance then tossed quickly on the grill or stove to be re-heated, but perhaps not long enough. It made us wonder if there are some staffing issues in the kitchen leading to some corner-cutting that is impacting food quality. The space is nice and the waitress was very friendly - we hope the team at Harvey's is successful in their menu revamp and that we caught them on an off night. read more

Wow. Best food & service we've had in a while, all set in a cozy, warm, clean atmosphere. Small plates that are not too small, yummy cocktails, & friendly vibe where there's no rush. Just what we were looking for. We tried two of the evening's specials, starting with a spinach salad with apples, blue cheese & almonds. Nicely dressed & so fresh, just needed some pepper. Next was the falafel platter which was divine. Best flavors perfectly woven together in those tasty falafel on a Naan bed including macerated onions, tahini, cukes & tiny tomatoes. So yummy! For sides, we ordered the roasted carrot harissa "fries" (not fried) & smashed potatoes. These were a fabulous pair, given the firmness & spice of the carrots plus the savory pesto on the two perfectly cooked red potatoes. All paired with margs on the rocks & a carafe of tap. There's also cozy seating in the bar, but we enjoyed a sweet window booth. Also reasonably priced to boot! Can't wait to come back & chill on the patio on warmer days. Highly recommend. The problem I found is a that there are so many strong, distinct flavors among the tapas we had, and they didn't all blend well together. All dishes were delicious, chickpea fries, Korean ribs, onion rings, gyoza, tofu in peanut sauce, and fried artichoke hearts, although the gyoza were super dense and chewy (not in a good way) and the peanut sauce was thin and actually tasted weirdly like almond butter. I like this place. It has great food and atmosphere and the drinks are on point. But one night I was meeting someone there and they had decided to close an hour early because it was slow. So I had to leave and change around a whole planned date which really rubbed me the wrong way and will affect my enjoyment of the place and willingness to eat here in the future. read more

So disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and cozy (maybe 10 or 12 tables) but the menu is pretentious when held side-by-side with the surprisingly underperforming food, which was bland, with insultingly small portions. My husband ordered the "Juicy Lucy burger", which advertised itself as a "generous size." It was hardly larger than a slider. It was supposed to be stuffed with cheese, but my husband did not perceive any. I had the PEI Mussels, and they were in an uninteresting vinegar and onion broth. One friend had the fried avocado tostada with pumpkin seed pesto, both outstandingly bland. I will say the fried tortilla itself was outstandingly good -- great texture, crispy and almost chunky. Another friend had the apple and cabbage slaw with ginger. The ginger was a wonderful touch, but the slaw was otherwise underwhelming. The lighting was so low we had to use the table's tea lights to be able to read the menu. One good aspect was that the restaurant was not loud.
