The Philly cheesesteak is all bread. The only reason to go there is because there are no other local halal restaurants in the area for now, hence why this is a monopoly in the area. Hopefully, a new Halal chicken/Gyro over rice restaurant opens in the Shirley, Mastic area, as our options are quite limited. We definitely need some new locations. How can a child eat all the chicken in one sitting? It's astonishing, but it confirms the fact that the ratio of meat to rice/bread is not up to par compared to industry standards. The chicken and lamb are cut up into larger chunks and are flavorful. The lamb specifically has a cardamom/cinnamon flavor which makes it truly unique. The rice is tender, the salad is good, and although I fell into a food coma afterwords, the entire combo felt somewhat lighter than what you usually get at a famous halal cart that shall not be named. With all that being said, for full indulgence maybe go for the fries? The hummus was good, not great. But the falafel was a let down. Definitely tough a bit drier than I anticipated. But, for the value and the amount of food you receive, its definitely worth a visit!

I usually have to order it on the side or it just makes the salad soggy and it all sinks to the bottom of the tray. If you like a bit of kick, order the #5 sauce. Yes, it's called number 5 and it is a sweet and spicy chipotle sauce. I am typically uninterested in anything chipotle but this sauce is quite delicious. The fried chicken is also pretty good, I do wish they made a spicy version of it as the standard coating is a bit on the bland side. Overall, I do enjoy the food though I would love to see the white sauce stepped up to compete with other local Halal haunts or, dare I say, compete with the NYC cart white sauce.
