It was one of those days where I found myself starving while driving down Sepulveda blvd and decided to see what yelp had to offer my growling stomach. There can be immense risk in trusting the algorithm to recommend culinary options for a self proclaimed food critic like myself, but I figured what the hell and threw cation to the wind . It was easy to find...FYI, it is in the FOX Network complex...there is a sign, only had two issues with finding it...#1 the Hash sign with and arrow showing you that it is INSIDE of the complex, should be a bit bigger, I almost passed it...#2 You have to park in the underground garage, (they do validate parking), parking was a bit tricky, because people work there, so a lot of the unreserved parking was taken, but after about 4 minutes, I found a spot and headed to my destination. HASH! I loved everything about Hash walking up to it. It is clean, the employees are friendly and greet you with a smile. (Something that makes a huge difference). I placed my order of Hash on Hash with eggs over easy, bacon for the protein, and cheddar cheese. I then decided to wait outside and check out what other people's food looked like...everyone who was eating was happy and their food looked amazing. I already know what I want to order next time. Just a short while later after snapping a few photos, my food came and it looked amazing! I ordered to go. So, I didn't eat it for a few minutes. I was at a stop light and could not wait, I lifted the lid and took a bite. Mouthgasm! OMG!!! The flavor of the garlic aioli and the cholula and sriacha and the crunch of the tots with the bacon, egg, and cheese was phenomonal. The only thing missing was a mimosa. I cannot describe it any other way but, absolute perfection, exactly what I wanted. It tastes better that it looks and it looks good. It matches the description on the menu. I was blown away. I'm not usually a big breakfast person but lately it's been a daily thing instead of getting lunch. I really wanted an omelette so I enter that into my search, a lot of places popped up but they were far and some that were close didn't have an option to build your own, some just had to much going on and others it was like $17 for an omelet that's a giant no no. I came across HASH and was like yes build your own scramble ( me still thinking it's an omelette) it's 3 eggs, choice of cheese, choice of protein, and 3 toppings with tater tots, toast and sauce. I got feta cheese, turkey sausage, spinach, peppers, and green onions with no sauce. It was a phone order, they answered right away, customer service was good over the phone and in person, the inside is very small With only room to stand in line, there is seating outside. The parking structure is literally above HASH so when I pull into the first floor the entrance is right there, it's free parking with validation. Once I get home I noticed it wasn't an omelette and it did say scramble but nonetheless just as good just not as pretty, the tots plus toast thing is to much carbs going on, idk what else to possibly substitute that out for, it's to heavy. Everything tasted good, and I was able to get 3 full meals out of it, the scramble had way more ingredients than eggs so I scrambled another 3 eggs of my own and combined it with the leftovers, I was able to make a breakfast burrito dish, another time I made waffles to go with it. The food is served to go, but you can have a lid to take home or open for on-site dining. There are a lot of potato tots for carbohydrates, a selection of protein, and a nice vegetable mix fried up to make a nice mix for a fajita type dish. Most places you get what you pay for. I'm not so sure that's the case with Hash. The food is good, don't get me wrong. However, it seems that you might have a better experience ordering for takeout. Ironically they have a sign posted that reads "We offer 3 kinds of services: -Good - Cheap - Fast. But you can pick only two" It goes on to elaborate, "Good and fast won't be cheap, good and cheap won't be fast, and cheap and fast won't be good." The food wasn't fast and it wasn't cheap, it was at least good. While they do have a parking lot/garage (which seems to be tied to some sort of office space) the lot entrance can be easy to miss and it can be even easier to forget to validate your ticket. The pricing is bit high for what you get, but the food is sustainably packed. While I was taken back with the prices, the staff here is amazing. Overall, it's an okay breakfast joint. The food here is delicious and the portions are massive. I deducted a star because it's very hard to find and I paid almost 10 dollars to park. The parking lot has a sign that says Hash. Then when you pull in there are no other signs to find the restaurant. I walked around the area and two other places had no idea where it was. Finally after going ten minutes the wrong building over I was told how to cut back through a parking lot and find it. Why can't they put up signs in the lot? Why don't they tell you they validate? The lot was no where near the exit path to find the place. They need better signage and they need to tell you they validate. If you can't find tables and are not in a rush, walk in the opposite direction of the large Cookie Monster statue and then make a left then a right and you will stumble on a beautiful park. Used to come here a few times a week but after being hung up on about 6 times (never used to happen) they say I can only order online? A lot of the staff at my warehouse prefer to pay cash for their lunches so prefer the human approach.
