I think the hash on hash is my favorite, I've also gotten the scramble which is lighter, and tried the burrito for the first time recently. I would've given them 5 stars but the fact that I paid for and ordered the mixed berry pancake but got this plain, regular pancake makes me only give 3 stars. I ordered pick up via door dash. I ordered at 12pm and my food took an hour before it was ready (another reason for the 3 stars). When I went to pick up my order, there was only the cook and hostess/waitress (why did it take an hour?). I realized later on just how close they were to where we live so my fiancé and I decided to just start going there and save the money on delivery. I wish we never did. We have gotten stuck inside the parking garage there twice and been overcharged for parking with absolutely no help from them. We literally witnessed a female employee yell at a costumer and be the rudest I've ever seen an employee be to a paying customer. The males who deliver the food and bus the tables are lovely and always want to help but the females there all have terrible attitudes and will be the main reason we do not go back. This place is so yummy! One of the best places I've had in a long time for breakfast. Portions are also huge, one bowl is plenty for two people. $11 a bowl and you can customize your own bowl. I had scrambled eggs, hash brown, onions, bell peppers, spinach and avocado. I also tried their chai and that wasn't good. Really sweet. Don't recommend the chai but the hash bowls are a must. No indoor dinning offered, face masks are required. The building the restaurant is located in has construction work happening, there is only one entrance and it's from the parking garage. We found this on Yelp while on vacation and have to say overall it was good, but not great. If you come from the parking garage the entrance is a little confusing, we walked into the kitchen versus the actual location. We were greeted by a friendly staffer and we were directed to the dining room. You order at the counter and then they bring you food. The ambiance is really hip with multiple unique electric fireplaces. The waffle was really good, the tater tots were below average and the eggs were runny (scrambled) and not great. I've been here a couple of times now and my experiences here have definitely been mixed. Both times have been for weekend brunch. On my first visit I got the El Gordo breakfast burrito and was super disappointed. It was really soggy and hard to eat and the mix of flavors just didn't really work in the way I thought it would. It turned into a mushy gross mess. But on our way out, the owner (I think?) took the time to chat with us which was nice. On my 2nd visit, I ordered the Overnight Oats and one Cinnamon Roll pancake. I love when places let you order just one specialty pancake versus a whole stack and was really careful when ordering it. When she said the final total, I knew it couldn't be right so I asked again about the pancake, and sure enough, she's charged me for the whole stack. It probably took a whole 5 minutes to fix the order, while the long line behind me grew longer and antsier. In the mean time, people who worked behind the counter kept bustling in and out and one slammed a tray into my backside really hard. There was no apology or anything either and when the same person who took my order brought my food out, she practically threw my food at me. :( The food this time though...overnight oats were AMAZING. I've tried making that exact recipe and they don't turn out that like that! You can get the oats with either fruit or granola--I opted for fruit and was not sorry about it...the fresh berries really took them over the top. The cinnamon roll pancake was perfectly fluffy and delicious. It was just how I wanted it to be and even a bit better. Once you've found the giant KAWS BFF Companion statue (which you should go see for yourself anyway, especially if a KAWS fan), then just to the right of it is Hash. Ambience: low key/casual. If you want a nice weekend breakfast experience, this place is NOT it.. This review is solely based on service. We did not end up staying because within the first 5 minutes of sitting we had such a bad experience. It's a sunny Sunday morning and the patio had plenty of open tables. My husband and I arrived and asked to sit in a shaded table. The male server initially said we may need to wait for one of the tables to open up granted they did not want to sit the two of us in a 4 person table. We agreed to wait. The server came back and said it would be ok for us to sit in the 4 person shaded table! We were happy.. we sat down and looked at the menu. A few minutes later a female server came over and asked us "did you move this umbrella?" We told her we didn't, it was there when we got there. She started pulling the umbrella away from us towards the table behind us and all she said was "not everyone is gonna have shade" and left without further explanation. We looked at the EMPTY table behind us and it wasn't even nearly under the shade. So moving the umbrella away from us was completely pointless in addition to her terrible attitude especially that there were plenty of other open tables in case anymore costumers decided to come.. My husband and I just got up and left because the last thing we need on our day off is to pay for such a terrible service. My coworkers and I have been going for a while and haven't had an issue up to this point. Sadly this issue was so poorly handled, we don't intend on returning. My two coworkers ordered their food to go (a sandwich and French toast) and hash didn't have anybody else in front of us. The only other orders were people who came after us. It took 30 MINUTES for us to finally say something to them when we noticed the people behind us got their food before we did. The girl working said so do you still want your food or a refund? Clearly we still wanted our food, but it took them 40 minutes total to finally give us our food. Also, they messed up our side and raised their voices at us about what did we want from them. Honestly, I wish we talked to the manager because they need a new policy when this happens with poor service. I've never left a review before but I don't appreciate when a food place completely ignores your special instruction. There's no way to contact the restaurant as they don't answer the phone. I asked for my eggs to be well done and there was raw yolk all over my plate. Not only disregarding the customers ask, but even creating a health hazard for someone for may not be able to eat that. VEGETARIAN REVIEW: The food here is really good and despite being busy they get the food out rather quickly, have a lot of vegetarian options, had the 3 egg scramble and a couple bites of some Cinnabon pancakes that I shared with the family. Was looking for a breakfast place and found Hash on Yelp. It's very small and most likely, you will have to sit outside. This place is overhyped. Nothing spectacular about the food and you are eating next to a garage. It's ok if it's warm but it was cloudy and chilly when we went. Small selection of breakfast items like pancakes and breakfast burritos. You can mix and pick what you'd like in each. By the way, they will validate tickets for parking in the garage. Overall, I think some of the customer service could improve. Our cashier girl was pretty impatient and it was clear she did not want to be there. We took a little longer to read and understand the menu since it was our first time, but when we walked up to order, it took a good amount of time for her to actually look up and give us eye contact. We even had to ask several times for her to validate our parking ticket. She was impatient and reluctant to spend the time to explain or answer any questions we had. Really regretting tipping the amount we did. The man who brought us our food, who I am assuming is the owner was very friendly and respectful. Also, the restaurant is located in an office area with young professionals. A group of the them sitting next to where we sat down to eat outside gave us the dirtiest looks and said some sarcastic remarks to us because we made some noise moving a metal chair. It's probably the best hash-place I've ever been to. I've been coming to this place for the past couple years and they've maintained the quality of the food. I usually get the shredded beef hash, which comes with eggs and hash browns. The hash-browns are unique since it's mixed with sweet-potatoes which makes the meal even better. Actually got out of bed this morning and made it over to Blue Bottle in Playa Vista. It's a nice little walk from where we live. On the way we saw the sidewalk signs for Hash. It had been bookmarked almost since their opening but we don't really have any reason to be there so we never had made the effort. Since my partner in crime (PIC) and I were both intrigued and the opportunity had presented itself we decided to give Hash a whirl. IMO the menu is engaging (i.e., the whole left side is populated with waffles, French Toast and pancakes) and it looks like both breakfast and lunch are pretty well covered also (there is a large menu posted outside). As you step inside it is evident that the interior is devoted mostly to food preparation. There really isn't much space for eating inside except for a 8-10 foot counter that I don't even think had seating. I'm sure this isn't much of a problem for the average Hash client who works in one of the surrounding offices. We ordered our food from a woman who after I handed her my card for payment promptly gave me a slip to sign and disappeared, never to return. I finally got the attention of another employee and asked if they wanted my signed slip back and was told "no". After stepping away from the cashier's area my PIC asked if we had gotten a "number or something" for our order (which I had not). I never enjoy when you have to go back to ask for something that should have been given to you in the first place. Awkward! And then after waiting for a few moments I had to interrupt and request what turned out to be a numbered card and a stand to place on our table. This accomplished we proceeded outside and found a nice "clean" table for two. I ordered the Carrot Cake Waffle (they say you have to try it. It says it right on the menu, I swear!) and my PIC had the Big Papa's Sandwich (BPS). The waffle was better than expected. Fluffy but still with a good carrot cake heft. Good carrot cake flavor too. But the icing was too sweet for me (most people maybe?). I think it should be offered without the icing and with butter and maple syrup as an option. I would imagine that can be done (I would hope) if you know to request it. The BPS was a substantial breakfast (or otherwise) sandwich that was well constructed with scrambled eggs, lettuce, cheese and choice of protein. Everything was well prepared and the portions were such that we both brought half home (the waffle was SO rich!). So, why only 3 stars: Hash does a number of things right. It was clean, well organized and even the cute square paper plates were a nice touch. They had a good bottled drink selection too (AND they serve Groundworks Coffee, quite respectable IMO). So my question is, why can't they get a handle on taking care of customers at the cash register? That seems so basic to me. In the end this gaffe made our overall experience way less than it could have been. We will give them a second chance sometime, maybe. After all, they are a little out of the way for us. Remember Hash: You only get one chance to make a first impression. Any time you have an opportunity to make a positive one-on-one impact on your client you should make the most of it. This is my local go-to when I need a hearty breakfast. However not easily found since it is between two complexes. Hint: If you find the Blue Statue , you are there. So this location is pretty small but they do have some outside seating options that usually get packed quickly. You order inside and then they bring food out to your table. I usually get the breakfast burrito or their bowls which are both really tasty. I like that they have tons of protein options, turkey, bacon, sausages, ham and few others. The staff here is very helpful and also this place is kept really clean which is a plus. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. Stopped by today with my friend, called and ask for directions and the lady who explained them to me was so nice and patient and that was such a little thing but it made me feel like It wasn't a hassle. We come in and the guy in the front was super cool and he told us he was new, and there were orders going out left and right, he had to take out drinks also to customers, but he handled it like a champ, and was very courteous the whole time. This place is overrated. It takes at least an hour to get your food regardless what time of the day or if you order it online or in person. Sometimes they are so backed up where it'll take 1.5 to 2 hours of waiting. They just compensate you a dinky about of standard chips and salsa. Worst thing is that their meal has so much grease. See the picture below. I had at least 3-4 tablespoon of oil at the bottom of my bowl. So much grease seeped through to stain my couch and left a mess on my coffee table. The team didn't read my instruction of light sauce. They still doused so much sauce on my bowl. Lastly, I eventually put my hash on a separate bowl with a paper towel liner so it would absorb all the oil. I still had so much excess oil. It was so unappetizing I didn't even eat my meal.
