I was running some errands nearby during my lunch hour on a weekday afternoon, and decided to stop in. Loma is located on the edge of the market just as you walk in the doors from Historic Decatur. I didn't take a lot of time to study the menu, but I saw a few signature salads (with the option to make them into a wrap), some flatbreads, and avocado toasts. I chose the Golden State Salad, which features lots of veggies, sweet potato, chicken, and bleu cheese dressing. It wasn't until my salad was being prepared that I saw the option to build your own salad or bowl. I probably would have chosen that option instead, had I seen it earlier On the day I was there, the market was pretty buzzing, and it was a bit challenging to hear, so I remember ordering being a little challenging, also because of the barrier between the customers and staff. Anyway, I got my salad to go. It was really fresh and delicious, and pretty filling with the chicken and sweet potato. I really enjoyed it and felt that it was worth the price. I will be back and next time I will choose the "build-your-own" option!

They didn't even bother to warm it up. They should have at least put it on the hot griddle after they wrapped the burrito to toast it up. In hind sight, now I know why the fish burrito came out so quickly. I expected better from Swami's. On a good note, the burrito, including the Mahi Mahi, did taste good, but it's very hard to look over the cold fish. Please make the fish to order. The hospitality was friendly enough, but I did not like the way I was not told about the extra fee for the side. There's plenty of inside and outside seating at this location.

The torta was quite good and no doubt the fried chicken was the star. It was lightly breaded, crunchy, and the breast inside was tender. It could of been a little more juicier, but quite good and well seasoned nevertheless. I loved the addition of the queso fresco and avocado. They both worked very well here with the chicken. The chipotle aioli was very good and offered a subtle heat. Nothing to bad indeed. Both the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the bread was of very good quality. I do suggest that they heat it up or press it a little longer to develop a nice crust on it and to ensure it heats through properly. The young lady at the counter was super cool and friendly. I liked that they also offer grilled cheese and their version of avocado toast. Good thinking.

Five torta styles, two appetizers, and a dessert made up the menu. No grasshoppers were offered as a protein despite the business name and logo. I chose an Adobo Pork torta for my order. The meat came with refried bacon beans, sharp yellow cheddar cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onions, and spicy salsa. A bag of chips and pickled jalapenos also came with the item. For $13.99, the torta was more like a grilled panini so I don't if I was being too picky with how it was prepared. The marinated pork was tasty, but perhaps not worth the extra $2 compared to the sliced ham, Cuban pork, or chicken milanesa. Instead of chips, it would have been nice to get a side of french fries for the price. For the quality and value of the food, I gave Tortas el Chapulin a three star rating.
