First time eating at a Hat Creek and to be honest we only came here so our kid could play outside while we ate. However....the burgers were amazing!! I would put it in the top 5 burgers I have ever had and I have had burgers all over the world (Godfather reference). Fries were on point too! It's no wonder why this location has sh--y reviews. Went through the drive thru. I ordered the Paleo bowl, my wife ordered a salad. Everything was correct except no dressing. Turned around so my wife can go back inside and get it and she got something she didn't order. An eye roll and attitude. Not to mention a simple you're welcome after she said thank you. Wish I could give this place 2.5 stars. Breakfast is pretty decent, with the cost not too high compared to the rest of the menu. However the rest of the menu is vastly overpriced for food not worth it. A single chicken sandwich with cheese costs just short of $8. No fries. No drink. The burger I tried on this last visit (the little hat) was so incredibly bland I didn't bother finishing the burger. The meat was simply meat, no seasoning at all. The only thing I could taste was the bread and pickles. My boyfriend ordered the same but added cheese and said his had more flavour but it mostly came from the cheese. The fries were okay. We went over to Hat Creek Burgers today for lunch. We thought we would give it a shot since they have a kids playground. We were not disappointed! Great atmosphere for kids. The food was made to order and very fresh. The staff and manager were very nice and took extra care of the guests. The playground was a big hit for the kids. Top 3 burger in the area. Ordered online, drove over, pulled in the drive thru and they handed me my order. Pretty seamless. Had the big hat, sweet pot fries and the peanut butter cup shake. All of it was top notch. All of it could have been hotter but again, I ordered pick up and I am at least a 10-12 minute drive. I will be back and this time dine in. There are other burger joints on FM1463 that are better and offer a juicier burger. Pricey, dry burger I can get it cheaper at McDonalds. I thought Yelp had real reviews, but until August 6th all the reviews were 5 star! These reviews were very misleading, lead us to waste our money and time. By the way Hat Creek Burger Company if you have not noticed we live in Katy TX where in August it is very hot and your Air Conditioning failed miserably. Not a good experience, beware of fake 5 star reviews. read more

The food was just slightly better than a mainstream fast food burger. The layout causes there to be congestion near the drinks and ketchup bar. The restaurant was extremely hot that good continually worse as the door to the back patio was held open. The biggest concern I had was seeing everyone come out of the back still wearing their gloves and not changing them after touching the buzzers or restocking dispensers. read more

I wouldn't recommend when it's super hot or for small kids. Sadly, we really wanted to like this place. The food is good, but the set up is bad. First, the majority of the seating is outside, which is fine...but not in a SE Texas parking lot when it's very hot most of the time. They have tons of outdoor heaters...but only 2 fans, neither of which were turned on when we went. The high chairs are some proprietary brand that are WAY too small. We couldn't get our 18 month old in them without injuring him so we then tried the booster seats. The booster seats don't fit into the outside chairs, so we tried a picnic table. Booster seat on picnic table bench = not safe. The play area is nice, but I wish it had some sort of shade. In sum, I can see how this set up would work well in the Austin area where the chain is based, but not in a parking lot in Fulshear. read more

My family and I have ordered from this Hat Creek on three separate occasions. Once on Grubhub, and twice I have gone physically after ordering online. I will spare the details of how wrongfully the burgers and fries have been messed up. The thing that makes me the most upset is on all of these occasions, we have paid extra money for specials that we did not receive. I do not usually complain about food, especially a burger because you just take the ingredient out that you do not like; but when a company charges extra for a topping and they do not provide it, this does make it upsetting. On each occasion we have spent more than $50. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

I went there at 8:00 PM after a long day and just wanted to get dinner for the family and get home. I went inside, but ordered take away. There was a wait, but I expected that and when I got the food, 2 large burgers, Buffalo chicken flashers and fries it was all in 1 small bag. I checked to make sure everything was there and discovered there wasn't ranch for the chicken. In spite of there being at least 6 employees I could see, it took time to get someone's attention and this was after loudly saying, "Excuse me," and waving my arms like an idiot several times. I think part of the problem is there are a lot of young employees that haven't learned customer service, so even though a cook made eye contact with me more than once, he didn't think to tell another employee I needed help. I did get the sour cream and made it home before I realized I didn't have the shake I ordered. So after dropping the food off I drove back and was in no mood to play. I stormed in and was greeted by a manager who was apologetic, made the shake, said she would credit my card for the shake. She was so nice, it was hard to stay upset and it was partly my fault for not remembering the shake before I left. I get back to my car to see a text the jalapeños on one of the burgers were missing. By this time I'm laughing because of the mistakes and I go back for a third time. Again, the same manager took care of me and hooked me up. The food ended up tasting great, but ALWAYS check your order. If I had not had great service from the manager, this review probably would not have been this kind. Like I said, lots of young workers, so keep in mind they might be doing their best and just check the order. They seem willing to make it right when it isn't correct. read more
