All white was confirmed and the bag label reflected the order correctly. Told we needed to wait eight minutes for the order. Food was ready for pickup time but this roach was also there at pickup time! As soon as the employee saw it, they tried to stand in front of it to hide it from me but I already took a picture before haha. Sign on the door says togo or drive through, understandable during this time, but if you don't allow me to pick up togo inside why leave the doors unlocked and a sign in your doors saying otherwise? Finally....I tired the new Popeyes Chicken sandwich over the hype. I tried the spicy because I prefer bold flavors and it tasted good. The texture was super crispy, a little more batter than I prefer but tasty overall. I haven't been to Popeyes in at least 7 years because the quality of their food had gone down tremendously. The fries were warm not freshly fried like they had sat a while. They still have the same ole sides and would have been nice to introduce a new side with the new sandwich. Anyway, no need for me to try it again because I like the other chicken carryout better but this sandwich was good for those that like a lot of skin and batter because it tasted more like a piece of their regular fried chicken. It's not just hype, not my fave but better than I expected. All BTW, this Fulshear location is the nicest and cleanest Popeyes I've been too in a long long to read more

Every time I've come here, they never have everything you want to get ready. You always have to pull to the front and wait. Ridiculous!

I called my wife on the way home and confirmed she had pork chops thawing in the sink. Awww, screw it kicked in and I decided to hit the Popeye's on the way home and drop those chops back into the fridge. There were about 6 cars in line ahead of me, but the line moved reasonably fast. Once it was my turn at the window, I eased up to the speaker box and could barely discern a miniature voice from the speaker. I literally had to turn my air conditioning down to hear this guy. He didn't sound distant, it didn't sound like a speaker box failure...it sounded like a little bitty guy that had no business actually attempting communication with other human beings.....I seriously considered turning my car off. After all, a stock 4 cylinder with factory exhaust is almost inaudible by itself, but I thought I may actually have a leg-up on this conversation if I could just get ahead of this thing. I settled on taking my chances and let that 2 liter remain running. The little guy on the other end of the headset asked to take my order. When I was done he mumbled something and I asked him to repeat it. He obliged. After he mustered up all of his remaining energy, I heard him feintly utter "Anything else" and when I replied with a no thank you, he quickly responded, "2922pulluptothewindow" I guess it's actually one word...learn something every day! He didn't actually ever repeat or confirm my order, but what the hell. I've always got pork chops if this all goes to crud. After I worked my way up to the window, the person behind the plexiglass, half heartedly confirmed a very small portion of my order and promptly handed me my paper sack containing properly prepared Popeye's food. The order was correct, the food was tasty. Surely somewhere there's a tiny man wearing a tiny headset taking orders from people who will eventually be quite satisfied once they navigate their way through the murky waters of that conversation and will eventually go on to receiving their meals. (The last sentence was a run on...sorry not sorry) wait there's a little more...the red beans and rice was a little runny. I know they put a little lard in there to make it creamy, but they overdid it slightly. The chicken sandwich is a big hit but I tried the chicken tenders and they were dry and hard. We have tried it all at Popeyes, the chicken is normally good but greasy. Something off with this location in Fulshear. We go quite a bit but it taste different, a lot of batter and never fresh. Spicy doesn't taste spicy. It's taste like a different recipe. I went to this Popeyes for the first time on November 27, 2019 to get a large order for family that was in town. I placed the order in drive thru and everything seemed great. I got home and a portion of my order was missing. I called the store and spoke to the manager. He asked if I could come back to the store to get the rest of my order. I told him no, I live 15 minutes away, and I asked if I could just get a refund for the portion of the order that was missing. He said they couldn't do that, but that they have a "customer log" that "every employee knows about," and he would put my name and order on it so the next time I go to that location, I can just mention that and the employees will know exactly what I was talking about, and they would give it to me at no charge. He was apologetic, and I thanked him and was satisfied with the outcome (even though I wish it could have been settled with a refund at that time). Fast forward to February 12, 2020 (less than 3 months from my initial visit). I pull up to the drive thru speaker, tell the lady over the speaker that I spoke with a manager in November that said he put my name on a customer log for a replacement order. She asked if I could drive up to the window. I agreed. I reached the window, she asked who I had spoken with in November, I told her it was a male manager. She asked me if I had the receipt from November, and I told her no. She then asked me to come inside. I went inside, waited about 5 minutes to be helped, and a male in a sand colored shirt (whom I don't think is the same manager I talked to in November as they had different voices) came to the register and said "Hi, how may I help you?" I told him I had just gone through the drive thru and explained the situation all over again (the girl at the window had already given him the story also). The entire time, he was looking away, and then he cut me off and said, "What did you order?" I told him, "I don't remember, but per my credit card statement (which I had on my phone), I paid $36.79 so I think it was the large family meal." He then said, "So what do you want?" I told him I don't need a meal that large, but just to give me the 12 pack. He then started spouting off "spicy or mild?" "what 2 sides?", etc. while looking away and as if I was a bother. I answered, he turned around, got my order, handed me the order, and I said thank you and walked out. He was not apologetic, but rather, like I was a bother that he wanted to get rid of. Working in the hospitality industry myself, this was absolutely uncalled for. It was as if I was in the wrong, when I was initially charged in November for items I never received. I should note that I was very polite and not confrontational at all... I was just stating facts and the story when I was speaking to him. Apparently they don't have a customer log, or the employees this February day did not know it existed. I will not be going back to this Popeyes, and suggest to corporate or regional management that some employee/manager training and customer service skills be enforced. read more
