While the food is ok, not different than any other normal Persian restaurant, the prices for catering are exorbitant!! The owner is always there and he highjacks the catering orders and inflates it in front of you like you're an idiot!! It was a catering order requested by a company from that place in particular, my guess is because it's halal, so I had to go ahead with it. But fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! Living in the Palm Springs area, I have been dreaming about getting authentic Persian food. The week of Thanksgiving, I was in Orange County, getting a Disney fix. I stopped by for lunch. Parking wasn't easy, but I was able to secure a spot. There weren't too many people in the restaurant, but I noticed a brisk takeout business, while I waited for my food. I saw a sign stating that onion would be served only on request, but I was brought a basket of flatbread, onion, and butter. I was super happy. I haven't had that combo in a long time. I ordered some ghormeh sabzi with tadig and a loubia polo. It was so much food, but I was determined to eat it all. The tadig appetizer was much larger than I anticipated. The stew was absolutely perfect. Some of the tadig was a little chewier than I usually expect, but I enjoyed it all. The loubia polo was excellent. The koobideh was juicy and had a great flavor. The rice was moist and had great flavor. Service was excellent. Prices were super reasonable. You can tell it was repurposed from a diner, but who cares? The food is fantastic. read more

I just went to Hatam restaurant with my son. The last time I ate here was about 7 years ago. I don't know why it took me so long to go back but boy I am glad that I went. I got the soltani beef koobideh and chicken barg. I am an Iranian and I have eaten a lot of Persian food but by far this was the most delicious food I have eaten in years. The beef and chicken was so juicy and delicious. I met Farahnaz there and I a gentleman that I believe to be the owners. They were most gracious and kind to me and my son. At the end of our meal, they brought us tea to drink. I would highly recommend this wonderful place. I cannot wait to go back! read more

Wow--so thankful my cousin was craving some Persian food! Chicken and beef koobideh were delicious and a good portion given all increasing food prices these days! Three entrees provided enough for another meal for 2 as leftovers. Appears to be a family-owned business/ stand alone restaurant complete with koi pond and rugs decorating the walls. Plenty of parking and open tables on a Sun for lunch in July. The dining room had at least 3 tables for 4, a couple tables for 6, and a few tables for 2; there was also covered outdoor seating. Saw a few customers ordering takeout. Lunch special pricing only applies to weekdays. The ?owner/manager came to check on us a few times during the delicious meal. Will definitely recommend this place if anyone needs recs, and hope to bring my yelp elite friend, too! read more

The restaurant itself was dirty, inside and out. There was a bug catcher beside our dining table. The food was old, the soltani meat was very old and gooey and it was not edible. Falsely advertising basmati rice, but it was another type of long-grain rice and tasted nothing like basmati, not in flavor nor texture. We were served a plate with an old scrap of onion and butter, and a basket of lavish bread that was not fresh either. The chicken soltani was a step up from the beef. Salt and pepper shakers were also dirty. Can't imagine what the back kitchen must be like. We were double charged and went to correct the bill with the front desk, but they did something wrong and my statement showed 2 double-charges so I had to call my bank to void the bill. Overall, it was a very good experience. The small place has a special vibe to it. The menus are well-written and appetizing. The Persian breakfast plate, which included cheese, butter, walnuts, boiled eggs, vegetables (mint, cucamber and tomato slices), and tea, was delicious. The Feta seemed to be French Valbreso (they didn't know the brand when I asked), which was also delicious. I kept asking for crystal sugar, which comes with the breakfast, and on each request for sugar or any other menu item, the server would say, "It has to be ordered first," and refrain from bringing it! I would prefer to have whatever extra I want brought to me, and I pay extra at the end rather than walking to the teller and ordering it! I found that rather odd and unwelcoming. I guess they have their reasons for it, or are not well-trained. The omelet was delicious as well. I found the teapot had no tea leaves or a teabag. It seems to be a fill-in in the kitchen. The tea color was pale for a Persian tea, and obviously, leaving it to darken would not happen if it were not brewed in the teapot. Meanwhile, such a tea serving is not Persian style and will give the tea a stale taste, which is not recommended. I didn't like their teapot serving method. Although with crystal sugar in tea, you barely notice the difference. I hope they change that and make it excellent. Overall, it was a good experience. The quality is good, and the rest we can adapt to. read more

We came from San Jose we asked around where can we find a Persian food your name came across so, we ordered about 7 dishes spend about $140 but unfortunatly none of us could eat your food.your rice was left over from the day before your Gormeh Sabzi was frozen then microwave heat , your kabobs kubideh was a brown color from inside of it that's also was old. . We buy food for pick-up from Hatam just about every New Year's Eve. We know they're busy, so we call before the evening rush, for pickup about 7pm. This past NYE they were busy with to-go orders (as usual), but it was also nice to see the dining room full of patrons (so long, shut-down!). It was bustling inside & the parking lot was full, but they have it down to a science - they're fast, thorough & effective at getting you in & out quickly. Remember to request onions & butter since they don't give them out unless you ask. As a convenience for customers, they even have catering carts to make it easier to bring food to your car! We bought enough food for 4 people for NYE and for 6 people NY day, and spent only about $120, plus we still had leftovers! They have generous portions & their food is authentic. They use high quality meats, produce & seasonings. After this visit, we vowed to return more often. I recommend their Beef Koobideh, Barg, Chicken Breast Kabob, Soltani, & basmati rice with butter & a hefty sprinkle of seasoning. The Salmon goes really well with their dill rice. read more
